yeah one of the very nice things about shadowplay is the mic control and being able to split the mic out into its own channel so you can edit with or without it. i am fed up with how unreliable it is with DaD though, and I mostly just want replays to see how badly i misplay something when I die lol

Watching the vid, express gives you an NPC in the waiting room between level 1 and 2 (like howling crypts>hell and Ice caverns> Ice abyss) that you can give items to, and buy them back from a merchant later, so you can secure items you want incase you think you're gonna die in layer 2

The main thing determining luck stat efficacy is the item rarity (color). Some valuable items like wolf pelts actually have less chance to drop with high luck stat because they are common rarity. Generally the rule is the luck stat skews any drop you roll on opening anything towards higher grade items. So for unique quality skull tokens - luck good. For common quality wolf pelts - luck bad.

life drain with plate if you're doing hr with warlock. Being able reset in a second with magical healing in inferno is godsend. Don't forget the obvious pve setup with phantomize/ flame walker. Use that to clear as many rooms as possible and get lions/gold chests

Collecting loot, killing monsters, bossing, etc. all reward you a differing amount of AP for how much you accomplish. (See the wiki for exact numbers)
Extracting is required to gain any AP. If you don't make it out, your earned AP is 0.
Additionally, depending on your rank, there's an "entrance fee" of AP. Regardless of how the run goes, you will be subtracted this amount of AP per match.
The AP you get to keep is just the amount earned minus your entrance fee.

Honestly if you get enough knowledge, you can have the same health as a barb with shield of darkness and power of sacrifice. Drop the plate and keep the life drain build to reset that'll give even faster ms and health/damage

Not absolutely sure, but most likely no difference, as monsters seemingly don't have different drop tables for Normal/HR, while containers do. Monsters drop tables seem to differ only by monster level (common/elite/nightmare), but for wolf pelt it's the same rate for all three. At least we know there is no change in quality of drops. There could be change in quantity of those, but I was unable to find anything explicitly saying this at first glance.

i have 297 MS, 45% PDR 150 health with current setup. Its pretty pricey but ive almost exclusively played torture mastery on the lock to farm wyvern. I died a lot with this build as it isnt any where as good as it once was. Knowledge is rather low, with the kit, only 25, 56% magic damage bonus tho

thats honestly fair, I've played confident and lost kits like that to rangers. A ranger is really your only weakness besides a weakpoint rogue right now and maybe a barbarian running the perk to hit through armor. If a ranger sees you first with that movement speed the health doesn't matter. Though with that health a rogue probably wouldn't have enough time to kill before you turn and kill him. I'd only be deathly afraid of a ranger especially if it has a longbow, action speed build.

You can't or at least shouldn't try/be able too. The game is a complex Rock Paper Scissor, PDR figther, Barb and Cleric are not really the counter but the class that Rogue struggle to kill. You can try to kite and punish mistake but it'll most likely take a really long time to kill a barb and if you make a mistake you'r dead, better to just let him alone

People looking for PvP go to Gob caves and people avoiding it go to Ice,
and people are more likely to bring their good gear in trios rather than solos
since they have the safety net of a teammate to res them (or at least save their gear)

the counter as a fighter is pulling out a bow, vs a ranger specifically you actually tank significantly more hits than a ranger can with the same bow, even with crossbow, esp now that even normal bows have some armor pens it means crossbow is even less special

as a warlock, well, ranger already is the closest thing to a direct counter to warlock as none of warlocks spells really work long range (dark bolt is reactionary dodgeable long range and just costs them hp) but they also dont have to engage with you

the counter as a rogue is to not play the rangers game, let the ranger come to you n then slice em up

the counter as all the other classes are basically repeating the same thing

Basically the counterplay to ranger is ignoring it sometimes, ranger cant kill you without baiting you to its traps, and if you are a class that cant engage in range well you cant kill it either

You think a fighter can out-damage a ranger in a 1v1? Rangers build specifically for damage as there's no need to build PDR I assume you're talking about a plate fighter. At that point they are significantly slower making it an easy shot to hit. They would essentially be playing against their own build. Their specialty is melee and with crossbow mastery you gain an additional 50% action speed with a crossbow making you even more likely to win a DPS race. You have to remember a normal crossbow does 40% pen and that's ignoring the pen shot or a windless switch. PDR fighters don't stand a chance

Most of rangers strength comes from specific map segments. When ranger is overtuned the strongest build isnt actually normal bow build its survival bow being able to attack while running away bs, not crossbow

when ruins was around a lot of problems arose from the room lengths being huge and there being no doors- rangers would just snipe you from across the room and then you couldnt run because the entire map was open

rangers are countered by any class with good movement and using the map to your advantage, just dont run at rangers in a straight line is all lmao

I think if you tried it yourself you'd understand my point of view. Once you see how many PDR fighters I've killed with this build and how easily I've done it you'd probably change your mind. Even without the bow at all you can almost always kill with just the spear and back step. You have significantly more range then a sword and shield fighter you can poke and prod at them while staying out of range easily with back step. With a high strength build it's insane the damage output. Try it for yourself you'll understand where I'm coming from

Might be a small idea to reign in Ranger… has anyone discussed reducing the amount a Ranger loads when refilling their quiver, or slowing it?

Smaller “reloads” increase the time and frequency of Ranger’s biggest vulnerability window. They can’t shoot while stuffing more arrows in, and the move penalty is big enough for most to close the gap partially… what if that was the focus.

Rangers would be as-problematic as they are now, followed by gaps of near helplessness as they get pushed trying to reload.

This is all very whiteroom theory, but is the best I have without gutting the class.

I could even see it being a fixed reload speed, with Resourcefulness instead saying how many arrows could be filled at once.

When I say matchmaking I mostly say gearscore. I mostly agree with what you just said but still the game can't stay like it is now. You can't play the game with gearscore around 200 because there is this team with 600 gearscore in every game running on everyone

It could be interesting to use HR rank or even better Fame level as matchmaking tool, but imo gearscore is a better solution. The game was not perfect but better with the 300 gearscore bracket (event better right before that with the 3 bracket in HR)

HR should be capped at 225 GS and measures should be put in place to stop the cheesing to FORCE people to play HR with actual gear that gives them a chance against any threat
I dont think there should be -500 or whatever brackets because a 400gs kit with good rolls isnt much worse than a 600/800gs kit its mostly just a consumable diff and the advantage isnt unbeatable

Also crafted items make gauging strength through gs at 400+ hard since say legendary rings of vitality give more gs than grimmies afaik and they are just straight up worse

boots and gloves and helm are common, legs semi-rare, chest rare, jewelry is only on certain monster loot tables, and cloaks are very rare.

It also doesn't matter at all what class you play, the loot tables are for each monster and the only influence you can have is luck - which still won't change the type of gear just make the average quality (green/blue/purple) better in what you are finding. So a druid has the same chance to find their hat as to find a fighter only hat. It's just the way the world works

Knowledge affects how fast you CAST spells, and how quickly you RECOVER them when sitting at a campfire, resting, or meditating.

A good strategy to adopt, is pretending that everything you find gear/weapon related in the dungeon is borrowed. You won't own it forever, it's simply your turn.

If you plan to do many High Roller runs, collecting gear can be helpful, but for every piece of gear you stockpile, you lose precious slots for treasure and monster loot, which helps complete quests, and treasure increase your gold pile.
My advice is this: Only equip / upgrade equipment you find in the dungeon during your run, and take out only treasure. Store your currently equipped equipment at the end of your run, and start the cycle again.

I've been playing for almost 3 weeks now. I have finally figured out the best way to continue doing solo HR dungeon runs. I main fighter because its well rounded for soloing IMO.

I go in with about 130-170 luck depending on the items I can buy on the trading market at a reasonable price. I think having this amount of luck optimizes your chances in getting better items when you're looting. There are certain items with certain attributes that sell for 150-300 gold in the trading market depending on how high the attribute is or the rarity of the item. I've been doing this for the past 24 hours or so and I've made about 20K-30K. I've finally reached a point where I don't stress dying to PVPers...I'm terrible at the PVP. I wait for Goblin Caves because I've played it so many times now that I know exactly which path to take incase I need to run away.

Does anyone know why the Steam version of this game is so broken? You know what happens? is that when a ranger starts to read the bows he will immediately choose the big bow and together with the multi-shot skills it is hell to fight against that and think that the big bow is available in any dungeon.

does armor pen work with mobs the same way they do with players? if wyvern has 50% projectile reduction and i have 25% armor pen will his reduction go to 37,5%?

Most enemies have negative armor value which means true dmg actually deals less dmg to them than flat dmg and then armor pen does nothing as they have 0

I think some enemies have armor but no clue if enemies have proj resistance

@woeful cedar idk about that, meditate is a very high risk thing to try and pull in a fight unless they have severe range advantage. and wizards can finally play as wizards after all these months of being some bootleg battle mage because using your spells for pve and pvp just wasnt a thing you could do.

Blue stairs you just walk through when they randomly open past like 7 min left
Portals you have to open and walk through they usually open later and 3 people can escape through them
There are also rope extracts which open around the same time normal extracts do you need to interact with the rope and you will be pulled up with an animation of the rope and you going up you can be killed during this animation

Places to escape will be blue on the map, they only appear after a certain time has passed in the dungeon, towards the end of the round

You'll keep your blue shards. However, your progress towards earning your next blue shard (aka Triumph Level) resets.
As earning blue shards only takes longer with each Triumph Level, this is usually a good thing.
You can blow through the early levels and quickly get blue shards again (before eventually stagnating at a high Triumph Level like the wipe before)

I have a genuine idea, so please don't immediately think I am making a joke; I think slings or maybe even bolas would be cool weapons to have.

Slings could be a sort of one handed ranged weapon similar to the hand crossbow, but is a primary slot, and has a little bit of armour penetration. Can be used with a shield, but you cannot block and charge a shot at the same time. This could be a fun druid and cleric weapon option, but I think Wizards and Fighters should also get it. Maybe even Barbarian.

Bolas would be a cool item to give; short range throwing item that slows the target hit down; the goblins have them, why can't we? I think it'd be an interesting thing to deal with the movement meta; maybe you can disable them like beartraps but way faster, if it needs to be more balanced

The pink curse does like 90% of ur hp if u dont have teammates around making lich way harder in solo than duo or trio
