Yo guys, I bought the game a while ago but it was pretty hard for new players to do anything, so now I saw that its on steam, my friend bought it and we had a lot of fun while we played and we didnt shy away from pvp when we saw other people, and the thing that I noticed is that either its because its all just noobs or its meant to be like that, but it feels like pvp is just an M1 dps race, the enemy just spams attack and blocking doesnt give you any advantage besides not getting the damage, so is that all there is to pvp? I buff my mate and myself and we just spam the enemies until they drop dead, or am I missing something?

Do Warlock's curse of pain stack on players? Most answers I found said no but I've seen some videos where the guy keeps spamming curse of pain on a guy and they die extremely fast, if it doesn't then why do they do that? Just for the 10 instant damage?

positioning and using your skills effectively change fight outcomes, being able to duck and dodge using your mouse also can help, blocking helps big shots and the attacker gets a recoil effect where they have a delayed attack after being blocked.

As a mordhau player its funny to see people wiff hits as you can kind of body dodge in this game, and I didnt know that there is a short delay after getting blocked, or atleast it doesnt really feel that way, does it depend on the shield used? Both with fighter and cleric, I block, start swinging, and before I finish the single hit, I see the enemy start to swing again

The curse of pain does an upfront amount of damage each time it hits, then does a damage over time effect after that. The damage over time doesnt stack but the curse will do the upfront damage everytime it hits, so everytime the hit the curse it'll do that upfront damage.

Im not a rogue player myself so I cant provide the best advice but, going against naked players, especially warlocks who use their hp to cast spells, is a lot easier if you use ranged like the throwing knives or the hand crossbow, cause as a rogue you dont have a lot of options to catch up, and the ranged damage would usually make a naked player back off if only briefly. Hope this helps

that or a handcrossbow and some bolts yeah. The other option is to stack agility and movespeed (Barb main here, its good for us) but idk if that's viable on rogue given your base stats are more garbo.

@potent horizon Bear gives 1.5x PDR , so if you had like 25 before, you'd only go up to about 38%. the odds you had 65% pdr as a druid seem pretty low? even ignoring that, a kitted barbarian hits like a small truck. He'd probably 2 shot or 1 shot you in panther form too

They spawn in each of the corner rooms. Look for blue tinted circles on the ground. That is 100% where all portals spawn now.

you can usually sprint your way to one of the portals without clearing and just circle enemies till the portal opens, if you know how to lure appropriately and have the movespeed for it

I feel you a bit. I like that as a new player you don´t have to fear getting no exit as soon as you spawn and that you don´t get spawnrushed 8/10 games but once you understood the game it becomes a bit too easy to mass gold etc. Lets hope they use this Wipes findings to improve on that.

Aria gave a solid answer. I feel like for solos the other answer is 'you don't'. You almost certainly lose the 1v1 to most equal gear fighters, barbs, get shot to shit by rangers, roasted by wizards (unless you literally can get on top of them before they fireball, in which case panther silence means you win), and warlocks are either phantomizing away or blow of corruption knocking your head in. your rogue, cleric, and bard matchups are better ig, but none of them are free I don't think. Your teamfight is much better tho

issue in solos is maxing on agility and movespeed, you can essentially run from most people that dont have as much as you forever , close doors. rinse repeat. much different with teamplay where most lineups have different classes and movespeed

I died once in 5 hours on a movespeed bard today. Movespeed is incredibly broken for barbarians, better than strength, vigor, whatever. Barbs don't need more pdr, or more hp, or more damage, they need to run at people and crack their skulls. you already do some insane damage, and are bulky af, especially if you are in trios and have a wizard giving you haste, or a cleric/druid for heals. barbs need literally nothing but movespeed or agility

their skills and passives, 2h bonus, and base stats are perfect for maxing on movespeed and action speed. if you can learn the hitboxes of most melee weapons too, you are essentially untouchable

mixing agi dex and movespeed is great but you can prioritize either which one honestly

i would say a good wizard properly using invisibility and spells is the only valid counter for it, rangers cant deal enough damage before you can just run and retreat

fighter stands no chance against that barb build unless they connect every single longsword parry

you can do it, you need to use holy smite as it is your only range option. You can actually win in melee fights, given you can wear heavy armor and use a shield. Both smite and perserverance can be used as a major combat buff. When dealing with rangers just run away.

warlock can use plate and swords, though their base stats are weaker (With their self buffs though they can do more damage and have more survivability. Imo it feels like a more technical yet more rewarding fighter)

Green. I had a Blue shield which gave vigor and health buffs. It's the only gear he looted off me xD. I did have a shield. I was driving in a small room by an archer spamming arrows. I couldn't catch him so I was forced into a trap. After a while he left, but he did exstinguish all the lights and place 3 beartraps down. I jumped the beartraps and attempted to ambush what I though was that same archer, but instead it was a mega geared rogue that only headshot me. Because it was dark and because that was my first time fighting a rogue I got overwhelmed. Now I know to lift my shield block to my face.

Yes there is but does make it a little more challenging. Theres a lot of new players so everyone is dying quick but if u pick up the game quick its pretty easy to know where people generally are once the game begins. So you could just rush corners of the map or a high loot area.

Does anyone else have the same issue? It started with an update about two months ago.

The game's FPS drops from a stable 144 to 10 every 10 seconds, and any attacks on objects are not registered, making them ineffective.

I've tried every method I could find: updating drivers, reinstalling the game, repairing the game, switching between DX11 and DX12, various in-game settings, and clicking "Disable full screen optimization."

I am certain it is not a problem with my computer's performance. It has been two months, and the issue still hasn't been fixed.

fighter is best class in the game. And also easiest to play. Barb is best in melee combat as it has the best raw stat line, but is weak against range. With fighter you can just trade shots with weapon mastery, as fighters can also use bows (while still wearing full plate). Fighters can also heal.

yeah it is considered bad, the 3 vigor isn't worth not being able to wear a head piece. Lizard had its place because the 20 armor and 10 headshot reduction was worth it if you were just going to run around as a naked barbarian anyway. But 3 vigor is too low for that price, a blue leather cap gives you +3 vigor and some armor and other stats as well.

even in normal white lobbies, the best 3 vigor will get you is ~6 HP and slightly faster recovery speed
thinking about it, if the health recovery bonus part of vigor was instead an incoming healing bonus, I could see it being worth it

the problem with the bonus is Vigor just doesn't do enough as a stat, especially since everything it does do a helmet can provide in spades
that's why I said change vigor to boost all incoming healing stead of just resting
at the current curve, that would grant at most a 21% incoming healing buff which is actually a lot but those numbers could always be adjusted

I can assure you. It is not easy.

And even if it were somewhat easy after training it requires 4 people to start. If preteaming is out with new software that means randoms. Part of the fight is positioning based, wherein someone who is not positioned correctly will wipe your team.

Therefore there is no reason to run with randoms, since they could very well wipe your 20k+ in kits easily.

Also the boss in HR currently drops only 3 epic+ items, plus a normal loot pile. The froststone ore has some value but that will likely come down since it's only speculative value.

There is literally no reason to so the new content. I guarantee you if you can't preteam this boss, it will not be done. The risk reward VASTLY outweighs any other bosses/pvp in the game.

I would not do dragon with randoms. They will wipe the platform by steering dragon charge into you, and/or into ice crystals and destroying cover for phaze 1/2/3 ice wind. Especially not for current rewards which again, is 3 epic+ items, a normal loot pile, and some ore that is only speculative value.

The dragon will not be done except more than one time to say you did it, IF preteaming is not allowed.

If rolls are random, you'll get 1 item with random rolls per 2 HR runs. Average kit cost is 20k+ at late stage of game. A unique piece has value of 500-30k. 80% around 2500g.

The risk reward will not be there. Need a way to mitigate death (don't do with randoms), or increase reward.

that depend on your playstyle i'd say, most are viable, I play a lot of fighter personaly, and it feels very bad with the sprint nerf, gotta rely on wep mastery or cross bow a whole lot more. Still, fighter in trios are awesome so i'm not complaining

50% projectile reduction 30% pdr means arrows do 8-12 damage in bis kits from distance. That's 760 arrows assuming you don't miss. The time it takes is also greater than the time available, especially given you need to clear to him. ALSO there's a requirement of 4 players to activate fight. So you NEED to do with randoms, or preteam as people are currently doing.

My argument is largely that randoms will get you killed even if you play well, since the mechanics are positioning based.

You really need to do the fight to weigh in please.

Well supported, a PDR build is a stronger front liner, + the ability to have a crossbow to help out the range, barb can drop pretty quickly when focused while fighter with a second wind will always give the cleric time to get a heal off. They still dish out plenty of damage and can drop caster in one combo, their swing are tighter meaning they need less space than a bard to be effective. Barb are strong, don't get me wrong, but a well equiped and well supported fighter is a wrecking ball

I just think to give that gameplay loop f2p players can take uncommon and common gear in to normals and if they want to take better gear in they need to go in to HR and for that you have to pay.
That way the f2p players can experience the gameloop and the people who pay for it can have the chance to gain and lose better gear.
Right now there is no difference in normal and HR and if you go in to normal with full green gear you can be matched against full blue, purple and gold so there is no balance.

If you go HR then thats what you expect, to be put up against people who have paid to support the game and paid 100g to get in and risk it all and then you have the normals which you know at best someone will be rocking full uncommon gear which stops f2p players who arent used to the game and are learning from getting steamrolled.

The devs went from one extreme to the other.

Once you learn where the extracts are, since they are now in the same place each match, its much easier than it used to be. You can secure portals and have half of the match or more to do whatever else you want. Sometimes you spawn in the room with them and don't even have to worry about it

Yes. Longest recovery with felling axe is if they miss, everything else is very fast. It is one of the weapons where when facing it your win condition is to get them to miss 1-2 swings. Has almost no range and is easy to space if you have move speed advantage

Dont think so, but they are heavier so you move slower with it out and their impact resistance is lower so many two hand weapons can hit you through

you'll likely struggle with Rogue if you're new and try to focus on pvp without gaining some experience first. However it's a solid class for learning the maps and looting (lockpick/traps perk is one of the best) to build up your gold stash. The class is definitely viable in pvp but it performs better in high roller with good gear since you need strong burst damage for dagger/assassination builds

Bonk wizard is kind of an all in strategy for the wizard, if you can just keep some amount of space you giga outrange his staff in melee, blocking a swing will cause him to stagger due to staff impact power being dumpster tier as well. You have a ton of throwing and range options that will melt him. Iirc, crossbow shot + 1 Francisca can kill base wizard

Wizard is a fighter counter. To consistently win the matchup, play near some cover and bait spells, unless the wizard is very experienced you can bait them to get too close, then sprint and 2 tap them with the weapon of your choice

clear the mobs fast as possible and move from room to room until you find signs of the other teams, then follow the trail of looted boxes and dead mobs until you see them is what I usually do

yeah, play detective, see which way the doors face etc. move from module to module. if you want to pvp dont stop for the chests

If you’re playing regular normals it’s because 70% of the lobby is still dying to mobs. If you’re playing HR, there’s just not many people playing HR right now.

You can easily find players in the geared normals. Just go look

anything can play well with wizard or any other classes, but bard is a good support for a DPS wizard, or wizard/ranger or wizard frontline would be some decent comps to look for, but it literally doesnt matter.

if you have 24 gear score, you will be placed in the normal gear bracket.

I remember seeing a reddit post like 6 months ago about how the triumph level makes it nearly impossible to get more than 1 skin without intense grinding due to the doubling of XP, and I just got myself to triumph level 2 to realize it still doubles.

Does anyone know if IronMace still plan on changing this system to a more casual friendly approach or will it remain a grind to incentivize purchasing the skins? I only ask bc there was a post in that same thread about them planning to change it.

You earn 1 per level up as the ? next to the bar states

"Earn 1 Bluestone Shard each time you level up your Triumph Level. Each successive Triumph Level requires more effort to level up. Triumph EXP for successfully extracting from a dungeon. The amount of EXP you earn is based on the dungeon type and the floor you extract from."

It doubles the amount required per level up, so Lv. 1 is 25, Lv. 2 is 50, Lv. 3 is 100

Rn I'm past level 1 (3/50) after getting 2 chars to level 43, and having 2 others past level 15

I believe it was mentioned to reset seasonally, so maybe it's just time-gated so you are only meant to get cosmetics after a certain amount of time investment into the game?

Depends on class but I'm a melee enjoyed so vigor means better recovery speed and higher hp so I'm taking that
