It definetly applies to your point. You think their decision making has been is killing the player base but i disagree. Games bleed players over time no matter what. What keeps games alive is both retention AND new player aquisition. Without both, a game cant survive. The game was actually retaining players quite well, but they had barely any new incoming players. My argument is bringing nee players in was much more important than existing player retention, since existing retention was not the larger problem in player count.

The numbers back up my point ive looked at player counts throughout EA since EA dropped. They did not lose huge numbers of players at any time, its been a very slow bleed since EA launch. This supports my theory that there has been very little new player acquisition to compensate for normal player loss.

They can be crafted from leathersmith after a certain amount of quests and they can also be received as a rewards for achieveing a certain rank last wipe. But the rank rewards are currently locked, and the quests to unlock crafting it, has not been put into the game yet this wipe.

Try the more basic classes like fighter and barbarian, they are much easier to play and still require a bit of skill 🙂 Rogue is my main class but it's a glass cannon kinda so still a bit hard to play, Ranger is also relately easy as long as you master your bow and a secondary weapon for close quarters

Well what they're looking at right now is the FTP players are upset they're stuck at base gear. So their fix is to allow up to legendary gear to be used on normals. However this is going to cause issues because of the market so MY PERSONAL fix for this would be to make normals self found that way everyone can still use the gear they want to bring in but only if they have found it in game. I think this would be a solid fix for both groups.

P2P: you mentioned the "exclusive club" here, but the is content being locked. A complete paywall.

I'm just going to put my two cents in here for the sake of player input,
Coming from a player who is experiencing the free version of the game,
It offers a good bit for people to experience without the need to put money into the game.
The only gripes I really have about the f2p experience is the restriction of character slots to only ONE, and the inability of not having access to high roller.
This is just my take based off how other major games handle a paid and a free version of their game, (totally not a ff14 player), All I think they could really do to enhance the f2p experience is to allow say at least 3 character slots by default and access to the shared storage, I was originally going to say access to hr as well until I found out you can get purples and gold from normals just at a much lower rate than in a high roller. The market should for sure not be made available to f2p solely for the fact that cheaters exist and could abuse it if it was available to everyone. That's just my personal opinion based of my experience with what I have to work with, its also coming from someone who is currently looking for work but to no avail getting any callbacks or offers for interviews. So money is kinda tight for me and its at least nice that there is a free version of a game that I do quite enjoy a lot.

my only gripes with the game/its devs is very few

1. by this point we should've gotten a better melee system, i'm not saying what we have is BAD, it's just very very simple. it's always felt like a foundation for something they really wanted down the line but....there's been nothing (there's also a lot of "what i want it to be" but that's a different talk)

slayer is a perk for fighter that gives you 5 weapon damage when dual wielding but means you can't wear plate, you usually pair it with sword mastery for 7 free weapon damage and dual wield for 10% action speed
