as a warlock main it was fair. If you had 10 shards it was a garaunteed 100 damage
We aren't sure but maybe I assume an incentive to level up by giving you maybe new perks or morphs to existing perks and etc.
Yeah I play alot of warlock too and I know that those 2 were OP but it's just silly seeing sprint and slayer never get nerfed despite being arguably just as cancer

Slayer fighter is worse than regular fighter, it is only strong in norms where +5 weapon damage matters.
why is double jump even in the game the only use for it is to get in spots your not supposed to be in
It was initially added as part of an overcorrection on IM part to try and make Rogue stronger, back when every other class was OP. Double jump turned out to be so fundamentally broken of a perk, that they nerfed it to oblivion, and every time it becomes useable again they have to take it out back, and break its legs again.

double jump is quickly becoming the "this is useless" kind of perk when running rogue. I don't see why they can't maybe keep some jump ups in the maps to give it an actual use aside from being able to do parkour faster lol
Double jump should be removed from the game. It is a broken ability, that can never be made to fit into the game. It was wrong of IM to add it in the first place.

aside from jump ups that people complain about I don't see anything else "broken" about it though. Sure it's not a good fit in this kind of game but it's not like if I double jump in the wide open everyone's neck instantly snaps lol.
jump ups are the biggest concern for double jump from what I see. although some jump ups are intended to be there like the secret chest room in crypts
So the reason double jump is so broken, is that it allows good players to protect their head hitbox. By double jumping in melee combat you can force your opponent to only ever hit your legs, effectively tripling your health bar. This was abused super hard by good rogue players like Repoze prior to the nerf to effectively never lose a fight. Combine with that the added advantage to mobility and the fact that every map needs to now be made with double jump in mind. You can see how the perk starts to break the fundemental interactions that make up the gameplay.
So what is the best way to grind towards demigod?

{Limb Damage}
-Damage dealt to limbs is now 85% of the damage dealt to a body.
-Damage dealt to the arms now reduces action speed of that arm by 50% or disables shields for 2 seconds.
-Damage dealt to the legs now increases hit slow duration by 30% and abilities are adjusted accordingly.
-These changes do not affect magic, daggers or bows, which effectively nerfs them considerably while buffing other weapons.
{Double Jump}
This is assuming that double jump becomes a universal perk like in my concept.
-Double Jump no longer reduces move speed.
-Double Jump now increases damage received from attacks by 25% for 5 seconds after performing the second jump. This is to reduce its effectiveness and add significant risk in combat scenarios.

Tumble does not do that, because you can't attack at the same time you are protecting your hitbox. Im sorry, but double jump is broken. I say this as a rogue main, and someone who beleives rogue is underpowered. Double jump is not the way to fix rogue, it never was.

Rogue having it specifically makes no sense and I'd rather see everyone fooling around with it.
I feel like you could still balance double jump. Just making the jumper a bit more vulnerable for a short duration during and after the jump could probably fix your one biggest complaint though. it would deter people from jumping like a rabbit mid combat as it would increase their damage dealt during the action.
Backstep + Double Jump, for instance, is probably the single most interesting thing to come out of multi-classing. Is it busted? Absolutely not compared to most other builds (even non-MC ones).
Does it enhance the gameplay experience and add more depth to combat? Hell yes.
should give rouge a perk called Acrobat and allow backstep to be used once more time mid air for ultimate shmoovment >:)
But going back to Double Jump, it'd be fair if using the second jump (specifically) either:
- Reduced your move speed by 30% upon landing (50% if you don't wear shoes).
- Increased damage taken by 30% for 3 seconds after jumping.
or at least let you tumble further or change the animation to a backflip so your legs dont get hit in the animation

yeah that's what I was talking about. The individual above (I say "individual above" since everyone is now a famous streamer that cannot reveal their profile name idk what's up with everyone under the sun suddenly using streamer mode.) had a specific complaint about using it to reduce damage and I think it would be super easy to fix just add a short duration where double jump makes you take more damage.

Rogue has it because, rogues are usually the acrobatic parkour asssassin class in most games. So they added it as part of the class identity, but I would argue that double jump simply has no place in a game like dark and darker it adds too much dynamism to combat.
kinda let down about multiclassing being removed shouldve just put two different game modes for people to swap through one with multi classing one without rogue sucks again
I feel such a change would make double jump too much a liability and it would merely end up in the same place it is now. Think what other perks in this game have a nerf to your character for using it. The only ones that do, are rarely ever picked. Double jump is simply a perk that can not be fixed, what it does is fundementally broken, it can only either be super OP or not worth picking, there is no middleground with something like double jump.
Rogue is in an ok state, and multiclassing was never the way to fix rogue. We weren't event he class that benefited the most from it.
Dynamic combat is fine. We need more things to make it dynamic.
Also, Rogue's identity isn't that of an "acrobatic" character, it's of a class that uses stealth, deception and swift dexterity to gain the upper hand on foes while combatting them or not. Agility is (unfortunately) a part of the class, but double jumping doesn't necessary for them exclusively at all. Making it universal would just make sense and not ruin Rogue's class identity.

it's originally a movement ability to use to get verticality. It wouldn't be so bad to pick if there was some more map verticality and you can use it to be sneaky like rogues typically be lol. I mean there is some map verticality and it can help you utilize verticality a bit easier. it's not a "liability" unless you think it's a bright idea to parkour while a barb is pushing you
You are correct we need more dynamic combat, but double jump is simply too dynamic for this game.
"and swift dexterity" that is the double jump part. I am telling you I don't think rogue should have the ability (No one should), but that is the reason it is gated behind the rogue class. It is common in RPGS for the stealth assassin class to get the agility abilities.
My idea would only add like a short vulnerability like a split second in the jump and the landing not like a 5s debuff.
It wasn't a benfit, all the classes that beat rogue IE Fighter and barbarian, got even stronger than rogue did. And as a class we aren't as bad as we used to be. We were in a far worse state for quite a while than we are now. Yes we need some buffs, but rogue is at least a Playable class again, and we should take some solace in that.
Y'know I do have something I wish the devs would start to focus on more and it's to just step back and re-evaluate where they're going with the game.
As I said Dobule jump isn't a perk that can fixed with numbers. It is either overpowered or not worth using. It fundementally breaks the game. I must ask why you are so attached to the ability.
Like, if they stopped working on things and looked at the current state of their game, I'm pretty sure they'd consider changing the game's direction in order to actually make it better. Keep the things that work, remove what doesn't work, salvage what might work.

I like to utilize double jump to get to certain jump ups and stuff like I figured it was originally intended for. Also saying "double jump can't be fixed with numbers" and "it's either OP or useless" aren't objective facts if I present to you an idea that could make it not OP but we keep the mobility option to use it when we want to use it? You can't prove to me that double jump can't be fixed by tweaking it partially since my idea of the ability usage has to do with mobility and not becoming a mid fight bunny rabbit?
rogue copied the skills and perks fighters and barbs used anyway which closed the gap in fighting power which made rogue fun again

Community interaction is still important, though, especially in regards to balance. If they want to ensure proper class balance, they should start becoming more aware of if something about a class or perk or skill is wrong.
And as for design choices, the developers should still host QnA's, and perhaps even summits, in order to explain what they're doing and gather feedback from the community about it.
And lastly, the devs definitely need to interact more with the "Testing" community that they do have and start implementing more changes to the test server for an extended period of time before seeing if they should go through with a design choice. Rather than just implement a half-baked system almost immediately after putting it on a Test Server.

So this is the problem. What you call Jump ups, are actually game exploits, they are areas the devs never intended for you to go. That is why they keep removing the so called jump ups. This game really is not very vertical, you can look at the original map, Crypts, and see the complete lack of verticality. The game is just not designed so as to be really played in three dimensions. This is quite normal actually from the genre the game borrows from. Ei Dungeon crawlers.

It didn't close fighting power, With barbs running sprint and weapon mastery, rogues were useless against them. and fighter, well fighter I guess was a loser in the new meta (given everyone just played barb with all fighter perks.) Figher could still abuse multiclassing enough to stay above rogue.
I like this new map rotation thing, this is a much better way to handle solo queue, I think. Problems might arise, but I don't currently forsee any.
I'm not talking about cheesing my way up the ruins pillars i'm talking about jumping over, on and across certain obstacles and in certain spots that do exist and are intentionally there. I'm not trying to get onto completely unreachable locations i'm just trying to like get on top of certain objects and stuff and I don't see why we shouldn't be allowed to do that? Also double jump allows you to navigate to those spots faster as well which I like.
Those jumps can be made though with out double jump. You do a crotch jump, and you can make it, unless ofcourse you are wearing super heavy armor then you might have to unequip some of it.

ok, so you play pickpocket rogue, where you just run away from people, and don't fight. I mean I respect it, its a legitimate gameplay strategy, but the game should not be balanced around that playstyle. Pickpocket rogue can take other perks, like extended hide, trap mastery, creep, jokester and the like. It doesnt need double jump to work. Sure it would help that build, but bothering with balancing it would be to troublesome for everyone else who plays the game.
HEY! sometimes when a timmy takes decent damage from mobs I stab him! I mean I guess I can concede to your side on this one. I mean it's not super important I just think it's fun and if they added a way to prevent people from abusing it mid combat it could still stay and be a niche option that some people could pick if they wanted. As someone who's played wizard a lot I get where you're coming from but the strength of a wizard on your team comes from utility and damage output and it's very dependent on your composition. If you don't have any frontliners then yeah wizard is horrible to run with but with decent frontliners that can make space for you it's actually quite nice and enjoyable to play.

@knotty kernel 4th nerf on BoC, one of the least used skills in multiclassing. Back to trying to salvage matchmaking by adding rotation which the community ALREADY SAID was distasteful. Why? Because they can’t balance and fix their game so they have to fluff it to try and fix. It’s embarrassing for a 50 employee team.

BoC is one of the best abilities in the game, and can survive another nerf. It's unnecessary, but it can take it. The dark reflection nerf went to soft, they should have removed all scalling from it, ridiculous it scaled in the first place. And what is so bad with this map rotation thing? If we are going to split the player base between solo duo trios we might as well let the maps rotate.

pretty much a barbarian with demon, right now shadow touch, robust, poison weapon, soul collector, and war cry
the problem is robust and ironwill in the class with the biggest hp pool 
also with movement speed active skill and high damage, very fun
yea thats why demon is so good, war cry and robust both scale soul collectors max hp too, and then additional hp from demon
also pre chugging a potion
demon is a whole other level of stupid. But not like its not strong without it. barbs main kit is crazy strong
you gotta give blunt weapon mastery and reinforced instruments a go lute hits crazy
yea its just way faster with no weapon, honestly poison weapon is broken with that build, but lizard skin to just keep 62 armor un transformed

So, here's what I'd do in regards to the current projectile meta that will still be strong once MC is removed.
i just had a low lobby with a warlock with multiple 4 legendaries and tons of pots, clearly over 299; is gbmm gone and not documented?
Complete quests for other shopkeeper to get new items in the squire. Its tier never really upgrades but you do get more variety and some better stats (I.e in cleric's case the armor starts providing a small amount of strength, white tier)
im mainly trying to get mystic gloves to start giving magic healing

-Crossbow-type weapon reload speed is no longer tied to Dexterity or Agility, but rather, Strength.
-Crossbow-type weapons now require you to unequip them normally when switching from them to your utility items or other weapons. This is to prevent players from shooting and instantly equipping their other item.
-Hand Crossbows now have a very slow removal time that reduces your movement speed by 40%. This is to prevent players from immediately dropping them in order to kite after shooting them.

I'm assuming most here would like creep to be gone. If not what do you like about it? I'm not a fan of silent 3rd party gank. It's already bad enough when you're getting 3rd party but at least you might hear them coming giving you a few seconds to dip out of the fight as well.

Yeah, damn those ambush rogues! They should be running those other perks instead. You know, the ones that have no direct impact on combat and instead turn them into loot pinatas, pickpockets, and parkour rats.

I wouldn't mind a rework based around actual stealth and ambushing from actual darkness, as opposed to literal invisibility and a handful of perks improving it in various ways. Just give them more options to sneak around, open things silently, some night vision, and options mess with things like disguising dungeon traps or cause distractions they can then take advantage of.

I can't believe they still haven't realized that both demon form and shapeshift are hugely undertuned in terms of damage. There's no reason for any of these supposed combat forms to be dealing punch damage. They seem to be trying to balance this by giving them some kind of other advantage, but it just doesn't work.
I was afraid they'd do this to the druid, and ignore feedback or think demon form was actually "Good" because they forgot to give a slow during its worthless bolts and punches, and gave it a life drain that's too strong and anti-fun.
While I'm at it, demon form shouldn't have bolt at all, it should be a capable melee form including having better damage and probably better reach. The core warlock is already capable of casting the spell. It completely fails to live up to the fantasy it's supposed to be portraying.

it could definitely stay with some restrictions. perks/abilities that are not available to classes other than the original. at least thats how i imagine the possibility of it staying. the whole lobby running sprint is not fun :c

Y'know I think that this game would be a whole lot healthier if Trade and Marketplace were outright removed, and inspecting a player doesn't show you the random attributes of gear they have.
Because then at least when you're killing someone for their gear, there's this big mystery as to what you'll get.

Gear \ Gold is too easy and too plentiful to have meaning. It's no longer fun to grind because progression is so fast. Each update feels like we are approaching a battle royal instead of a high risk high reward combat game like in early playtests.
When troll pelts are 1 in 5 and 3k each it's a bit fast 
You can make 1-3k a run without trying just by knowing what attributes sell. Every box you hit is going to have blues->purples which will eventually roll +all or what ever stats you are farming.

I disagree, the build variety definitely decreased. They even had to nerf key spells and abiliites such as smite, and dark reflection and ambush windlass combo in order to account for this. I bet you too after the data they collected, it will show players gravitating towards "meta" builds.

as of right now I don't believe it is used for anything, though it is rolled on the same table as the Cyclops Eye and Rags which are both crafting materials
its likely there will be something, probably a weapon given the object in question, we will be able to craft in the future
but since the crafted item will potentially be added in a future wipe and the size of the Cyclops Club, its up to you if you want to hold onto it just in case
there is also the possibility it will be used in a future quest, the wiki does label that particular drop table as "Quest_Cyclops_Common"

for me this is just today specifically that it's been happening.
gbmm isnt the underlying problem, its just how much stronger one piece of gear can be than another in a lower tier. Best to fix/complain abt the root cause of the problem than to redirect it to a band-aid fix they slapped on the game
gbmm is actually a good thing when done right, they can do a lot of tweaking to make it much better but they still hve to figure out how to lessen the power between gear rarities
since its just their first iteration ig they have a long way to go
You can farm 400-1200 gold per game in commons and ppl sell fantastic gear and weapons for 200-5000K gold so you could be a juicer too if you grind a little bit and have enough skills
im ok with gear being good but when the whole lobby is full of juicers it just feels crazy. i liked the other one better it felt more balanced

Normally it would just be fighters and you can destroy the slayers since they have very little projectile damage reduction and the PDR boys even with sprint aren't that fast usually.
I get deleted by rangers when I play slayer and push them aggressively.

perk sacrifices suck tho @merry nest running weapons mastery is annoying and any other class that can use bows has better action speed with bows from base which makes it a lopsided fight at range. I just play the no you push me first game with rangers when I play slayer so if they really want to die they can get super close and then I pop sprint from close cover.
ranger can still use arming/shortsword so its not that bad even with no perks

I got them to level 33 and I have gotten only one kill in that entire time with a very unfair advantage.
due to multiclassing everyone has access to iron will and anti magic which is about 45% mr not including base stats and other stats of armor/weapons
wizard is best at bonk/cactus rn but that defeats the point of wizard
Yeah, bonk wizard is very counter intuitive to wizard gameplay, but it's the best thing to run rn and you still have caster options but 10 spell isn't worth rn.
I see. I don't feel like that is what is happening most of the time tho. Most often I die to muticlassed rogue or barbarian with all damage/attribute perks.
Usually I just 1-2 fireballs, then they are ontop of me and I am dead. Having haste up lets me run but doesn't actually let me gain any distance so its just delaying the inevitable.

someones using whacky builds in normals, time to flex on a made up stat to feel superior
tbh you don't need a lot of skill to reach high leaderboard. Not to say you aren't good, it definitly is challenging to use the weakest melee-focused class and reach leaderboard, but you can totally do it by solely grinding mobs and collectibles whilst avoided pvp.
also this, i think the old leaderboards were a better indication of skill
subclassing is a way to add "multiclass" without completely screwing up the whole game. I think a trickster rogue would be really cool tbh.
Also would be cool to see the average kill amount per match, deaths oer an amount of matches, amount of mobs, sub-bosses, and bosses killed of the players on the leaderboard. would help newer players easily see how they should play to "grind" ranked

i think the issue with a monk class is they'll inevitably try to make some fist combat their main form of offense, and given how jank it is to melee with demon form it probably won't be the best

But definitely super unlikely and unobtainabile in a 3-month span for most players. So I do agree with you, it definitely is a cop-out to say lol, but great job nonetheless! torch tech was a big thing in the previous seasons where people (typically ap farmers) would huddle up in a little farm village and interact with torches and stuff and it would always give you ap for every interaction so you could spam it and gain a ton of AP for nothing. They fixed it now I think

all you have to do is circle to his right and he'll only do a right to left swing, an overhead slam, and the massive overhead where you have to back up after every 4 attacks
when he does his right to left swing then only move back in once his hands nearly back to his right side
you'll get 1-3 hits in depending on weapon and action speed
he's got another attack where he slams the ground with his fist but i haven't done HR troll yet so idk about that one

{Unique Weapons}
-Unique weapons (named items, specifically) have been removed from the game for a multitude of reasons; one is that players tend to not even use these weapons due to their perceived value and most players would tend to sell them for real-world currency rather than in-game currency or items.
-However, the names of these named items will not be removed, rather they will be repurposed.
{Enchantment System}
-Replacing the named items is the Enchantment system that can be done through the new Enchantress vendor. Enchantments allow you to give one enhancement to your weapon that is from a pool of different options.
-Weapon enhancements can range from things such as "magic damage", "weapon damage up", "action speed", "experience up", "lifesteal" and even actions that activate under specific circumstances.
-Weapon enhancements can be done starting at poor rarity items, but the enhancements will actually increase the higher your weapon's rarity is, although it does come at a steeper cost.
-When a weapon is enchanted, they receive a unique name based on that enchantment, as well as a level based on their current rarity.
{Legendary Weapons}
-Legendary Weapons will now innately have an enchantment on them already.
-Legendary Weapons can also have an additional enchantment added to them through the Enchantress merchant.
-Legendary Weapons cannot be sold in Trade Chat, so as to prevent players from RMT'ing.

Players are abusing the gear score system to bring exacty 299 points worth of gear into the game to get matched against guys with low gear score since 0-299 is the range for "low" gear bracket
And for reference a legendary weapon is only worth about 56-120 points while legendary armor pieces are worth around 24-40 points
Like 10k average players on weekdays and up to 20k on weekends

it's unfortunate, but if we consider each possible variation of map, (solo, duo, trio / goblincave, icecave, crypts) (9 total), and double that for the high/low gearscore (18 total), from my testing the majority of those queues are empty lobbies, even on peak population regions. for low population regions, only a few have any players. as it stands, the current queue system will lead people to empty lobbies, and to quit the game
What region? I play solo mostly but get full lobbies all the time
Players complain about gaps in gear power levels and wanted to fight players with similar gear power so the devs tried out a gear-based matchmaking system to try and see if it could relieve player frustrations but all it ended up doing was creating a meta where sweaty tryhards with legendary weapons can still match against John Doe who can only play a couple hours a day and wear basically rags
There's many, many issues with GBMM and I could rant about all day but even at the most basic level this system has failed at doing what it was intended to do

-GBMM further splits up lobbies and queues when we don't have the player count to fill, you will often find dead lobbies
-GBMM denies some opportunities for pickpockets and low gear players from taking super strong gear from players that died in high gear
-Wearing super strong gear can feel pointless sometimes since you don't actually make notable improvements in strength when above 300 score (everyone else will be super juiced in that bracket)
GBMM is simply a failure from a conceptual and logistical standpoint and it needs to go for the health of the game

The new system should be if you play ranked, You play against other ranked people that’s it. Maybe you get a juiced squad maybe you get Timmies . The randomness is attractive and the chance of a huge come up if a team gets lucky on a third party. Less queues is better for the game

personally here is what i think would be the best matchmaking system for this game:
you extract, you gain 1 extraction point. you dont extract nothing happens.
within a 24 or 48 hour period, a threshold is set, say 15+ extractions in a 24 hour period puts you in the second tier of matchmaking.
if you are a player that struggles to escape, you will be in the lower tier. if you play a lot, even if you die half the time, you will be in the higher tier if you extract more than 15 times in a rolling 24 hour window. if that matchmaking is not inclusive enough to capture the right split, maybe its 25 extracts per 48 hour window.. etc.
this way, we have a matchmaking system which hinges on the core component of the game, getting out of the dungeon.
you do not lose points for dying, so people can't cheese it. people are motivated to go in and get out. if you get out enough, you deserve to be in the higher tier, so you are not stomping new players. if you dont get out enough you deserve to be in the lower tier, so that you are not facing sweaty 16 hour a day gamers.

imagine a map or parts of a map in which the darkness is taken to the max lvl. there arent many wall torches, so you basically have to hold one in hand if you want to see anything. this map could be like an underground setting, with a bunch of tunnels, there could be some big scary mobs waiting in the dark, and of course, other players, specially pickpocket rogues. dad rly should have a harcore total darkness map/mode
Lvl 30, multiclassing is ending soon though, I wouldn't invest into it too much unless you just want to try it for a bit. I'd say get robust and iron will for sure.

I think so. I think people just like to complain about getting jumped (kinda why they hate rogues, despite dozens of nerfs). Most people that hate it are the gigachad stat-check buff ball machines that like a straight up confrontation.
I like roques gameplay and even to play against them. if your team reacts well then you can a lot of the time kill the roque before he kills 1 of your teammembers. roque 100% should be able to do a lot of dmg if he gets the jump on you its the entire idea behind a roque
Oh, I'm just relaying what I've heard people complain about. I've played a lot of rogue in the past and it's a fun play style. I think people that complain are just the kinda people that panic and fumble weapons when they get jump-scared by the rogue. A lot of the time a barb or fighter will just turn and one shot you with your measly 114hp and little pdr.
100%. i would like to have roque be buffed in more teamplay oriented ways with some abilities cause currently he is prob the weakest class to have on your team and 1 of the strongest solo classes. it would be nice to see him bring more utility then opening the closed chests
I think it's pretty weak in solos too. I think they're great at ganking an enemy's backline, like their wizard or cleric, and then dying immediately after. The poison can also be good for pressure and denying/mitigating heals.
I think if they nerfed poison weapons damage, and instead gave it a healing debuff, it would be way better for team fights
Thats fair approach. i think roque did get nerfed way too much. i feel like everytime they nerf roque and just put it away in a perk. like with the invis perk or the handcrossbow
if rogues were not landmining all game long and basically killing people without even having chance to react is probably what caused it nerfed. So rogues made it themselves with such a rat boring playstyle
Yeah. The invis duration nerf, afterimage and the movement ripple I think kinda make hide borderline useless because you need 3 perks to do anything with it. I'm fine with Hide nerfs, they should just wrap the 10 steps, and creep into the skill.

Have you ever played roque in any other game? its an assasin like character. its meant to rat boring is subjective and is no argument just a inrelevant opinion with 0 arguments backing it up. A roque is meant to play smart/sneaky to get the jump on someone to take them out and in a headon should loes 90% of the fights. i cant help you dont like that playstyle but i absolutely loved baiting ppl into me by letting my friends retreat and things like that. the invis time decrease also affected that. at this point roque is good for nothing and they should adress that

imo multiclass is great for grinds and for fun. It makes the game more fun but obviously there are broken builds. But at some point you play the game to have fun and try wacky things. If anything most broken build is Bard if you just buff everything then get sprint and damage modifiers
