Depends on the map, in crypts cleric is best because of densely packed undead mobs to just purify them, in GC wizard is best because arcane damage is goblins weakness, in ice caves probably sorc because they have a ton of fire damage but the mob selection is kinda ass and i hate getting zombies/walkers

The range on zombies and ms is so shit it feels impossible to use it, id rather they remove it from the option pool, even spider mummies are less cancer and they have one tap hp

Isnt the problem you can only spawn as a creature with full and not activated? You have to race against time to get like 10 or so kills, then die before anyone can activate and/or hurt a cockatrice

Personally i think so far Faustian is mostly fine, some mobs need to be tuned but i think all skeletons are relatively balanced, zombie types are insanely weak because their range and mobility is bad, spiders are...whatever, they should stop being a option after a certain affinity level though, wolves are great, killed a rogue yesterday as a wolf, the M1 is shit but the M2 has great reach, havent gotten to play as a miniboss yet other than frost demon (which for some reason doesnt have the ice from above attack which sucks) but i think what they could do is reduce max hp of minibosses to compensate for player intelligence, i also kinda wish they allowed two things, show exact location of other faustians on the map for coordination, and a heat map of approximate location of living players

with the spawning yea i think that's how it is, but there was one time i spawned as a golem that i'm almost certain had already been killed because it was at the bottom of the stairs near the bridge. for selection I think its completely random. like you could spawn as a sub boss early, just got elite yeti about 3 minutes into the match, but the chance of spawning might increase as the round goes on because trash mobs get cleared

Honestly come to think of it, it might be the grind to get tokens, i think what they need to do is add specifically a mode in the lobby to start as a faustian, people should also be allowed to pick what they want to start as instead of it being random, add a gold cost to stronger creatures such as elites and minibosses, not much, like maybe...200-300 for elite, 500+ for miniboss? Maybe they can retain the on death faustian offer tokens so people can choose to do that too if they want to.

Reputation has to be good for something. I can think of two things: either more reputation gives you a higher percentage chance of spawning as elites, or before playing you can choose a non-elite mob on each map, and with higher reputation you get an increasing bonus percentage chance of spawning as that mob.

i dont like the random chance thing, right now faustian has some issues that i have noticed:

Certain mobs suck, zombies and frost walker especially.

You can spawn in areas you cant escape, for example as a zombie in the bathhouse sewer area, you cant climb up the ladder fully, and in crypts ive spawned in the golden door room unable to get out.

Finding players and other faustians is a bit of a hassle, my chances for hurting or even killing players increase as long as i have a fellow monster, i should be able to know where other faustians are at all times, this isnt overpowered i feel, as for players, give faustians a sort of heatmap that indicate player movements, id post a image of what i had in mind here but cant apparently do that for some reason, but imagine a large circle that covers roughly 4 modules to indicate "yes, players are somewhere in this circle right now, go get em", i hate playing hide and seek with players who are harder to track as monsters, if im gonna be easy to kill due to no pdr, at least let me find them more easily.

And make spider mummy footsteps(?) a bit more quieter, im a one tappable monster, the very least i should have is stealth

Just pvp, you arent allowed to go to pve, get tokens and kill players, because that would count as pvp, as for a reward, there are two.

1. Three daily quests from dealmaker that grant you antique coins that function as currencies in the dealmaker shop, the quest depends on damage you do as a faustian, only damage vs players, not mobs.

2. Decking the fuck out of players and mocking them

what's the point of having dealmaker affinity if it doesn't even do what it's intended to? like if you unlock all options, you're still only going to get the lowest ones possible. i can't even test if going down increases the chances of stronger mobs, because nobody ever does except maybe a solo rogue who you won't find

i get that it can't give you subbosses every time because that would take away the fun from everyone involved, but at the same time all the subbosses except yeti are shit and half of the regular mobs are unplayable. trying to die "strategically" near rooms with good mobs doesn't even work, because you'll spawn 5 tiles away outside the zone

They supposedly fixed spanning , and you should spawn as a mob closer to your point of death. When I die, I usually wait a few seconds on the screen to spectate where a party is before clicking on the Bargain button.

As for the type of mob, I believed that it was the strongest mob for which you had affinity that was nearby and wasn't disturbed. I think I read in the patch notes that they changed the system once or twice, and the affinity vs. what you can spawn as might be different than before.

step 1 - accept quests every day instead of having them auto accept for no reason
step 2 - go to goblin caves or suffer
step 3 - kill about 10 goblin
step 4 - die to a goblin
step 5 - 50/50 you can press a button to ruin some kid's day
step 6 - if youre a spider, press g and go next
step 7 - run around for 15 minutes looking for people and somehow never find them
step 8 - find a dude, die in 1 shot
step 9 - repeat steps 1-8 until you have like 50 affinity, then replace steps 2-4 with ruins and skeletons, replace step 6 with if youre anything but a sub boss press g and go next

Yeah, I thought you'd get better mobs with better affinity, especially after the mummy spider was moved to the bottom tier list, but I keep getting it. With less players per lobby (esp. Lower dungeons), higher affinity doesn't feel rewarded as you rarely get to good mobs in a timely manner to other players

However I feel like this is still a work in progress and is a good base for an upcoming season where you can play as a mob only to grind HR.

I will do anything in game for legendary status, I'll farm for whatever you want. I love this game and I was informed that there's no way for me to get back my legendary status (as I wasn't able to be at my PC during the time of the transfer), so this is my last resort. I put many hours into this game and I'd love to put many more but without legendary I don't see myself doing so.

Just kill 7 enemies and die. Usually squire to riches is the best place for it. You can shoot for 2 tokens but it'll take more than 14 usually. I don't feel like it's very worth getting into for fun until you have ~40 tokens for the more fun possible possessions

Skeles are good to landmine or 3rd party, mummy spiders are good to landmine or hit and run using shadows/bushes, wolves suck and you either 3rd party or get a jump on someone looting/cheesing, goblins (gob caves) and tidewalkers (watermap) you can solo challenge a player but best to landmine/3rd party

3rd partying as a skele is so scuffed cause they mostly ignore you if its a big fight so you can get a bunch of hits or even a couple kills

Skellys are just lowkey unplayable unless you get a red one, best bet is go goblin caves melee goblins jump attack are pretty good and unlocked at 1 rep from dealmaker just gotta get 25 dmg as a spider b4 once

I get my daily’s done in like 30 min that way most if the time

To get stacks fast you play wiz with spell overload and just spam explosion and fireball in any door, chest, crate and barrel you see I’ve been able to get 2 stacks without killing a single enemy that way

Season started too close to daily reset to have dealmaker unlocked and done that day, but I've done every mission since except ONE 3rd mission because I thought the reset was going to be an hour later than it was. Woops. So 46/48 realistically atm

Technically if someone got very lucky on day 1 quests focusing them the potential for someone to be up to 52 already is there, but with the limited time to get through gatekeeping quests before reset, I don't expect many if any.

You need xp I think, best methods are go wiz spell overload and just fireball and explode every chest/barrel or crate you can find and magic missle mobs should get you 2-3 stacks by the time your out do spells, alternatively you can also do the same with barb but it’s a bit slower imo

Sure, goblins are weak as hell to arcane damage, zombies are slow, glow, slow to attack, slow to move, weak to divine damage, and all they offer is a gas cloud that anyone can just move away from.

I feel like the negatives heavily outweigh its one single positive, its not a surprise people dont like going ruins that much early on because zombies are terrible, skeletons are not that much better either, they cant jump attack with momentum like goblins can

But I do think having faustian be its own dedicated mode would be better, too. What it needs are continuous rewards beyond the dailies to provide an incentive for people to actually play faustian after their quests are done .

Currently the only game benefit at that point is to people who kill you maybe getting a coin. Why should you play a monster when it only benefits strangers?

I think the chance of you having a coin when dying as a monster should go up with affinity. Further, if you engage in the mechanic and generate a coin as loot (regardless of if a player opens your corpse), an additional coin should be sent to you via the expressman post service.

We also need a damage done/ kill tracker available as fauatian, at the vet least in the after game screen, breaking down each monster and what you did as it. Currently you can only sort of track damage while you have the daily quests, and as soon as damage reaches the required amount it won't track further damage.

On that note, a total tally of damage dealt in faustian can be tied to achievements, season rewards, and even a blue shard reward system like the extraction reward system.

it's really stupid simple.

Most folks know if you dont immediately press faustian it will automatically spectate someone while the quit/spectate/faustian menu has popped up... but you cant click back and forth between different players to spectate - the game has locked your mouse input to the menu popup.

The fix is stupid simple. Don't use the mouse.

Change the spectate hotkeys, or add secondary hotkeys, that use the keyboard. I set the +/- keys on the numpad.

These hotkeys will work just fine without closing the faustian bargain menu option. Now you can pick your prey... lol

I'd hesitate to call it 'cheese' as that implies an expl0it or bug. This is pretty clearly an oversight where locking mouse input to the menu negatively affects your ability to use the spectate mechanic EVERY PLAYER has access to.

If they didn't want people who are going to use faustian to be able to use spectate they could have disabled the autospectate until you click out of the faustian menu

it's likely code that works in almost every popup menu/interface

spider mummy doesn't unlock (or didn't) until like 18 affinity lol. its actually a goated monster, stop Wkeying people with it and play to its strengths
