Originally Ranger started with 1 trap, now 2 and they stack. When I killed another ranger I couldn't stack our traps(same quality). Tested buying some from woodsman, same quality and they wouldn't stack. Just reported, thanks anyways!

Seeing as the lawsuit was filed the literal day the playtest was supposed to start id say they didnt want to take the time to do that.
It does not take effort to make a launcher... that is why I'm wondering. These guys are experts at C++ also.
I would love if they'd decrease the time it takes to raise a shield after an attack. It's such a bummer when it is literally a millisecond too slow to block an attack.

They have dps, and the Jokester ability doesn't fit Rogue at all. Bard is a support class with clunky support, no wonder few people play it
Rest should restore 2hp per second instead of 1hp. Maybe even more, but test out 2. 1hp/s is just way too slow with the pace of the game. Don't change like total amount of rest or anything like that just make it so you dont have to sit there for a full 35 seconds to heal it.

You should have ONE character option only. live by it. so there isn't AlexBARB, BobWiz... one character per account. Gives more meaning to whats in the stash as well as your reputation in groups.

Well I think its obvious already, but its a very strong heal that can change the tide of battle. Its already very strong and is replenish able already. If you make it more available you have to nerf it. Id much prefer just having cost to replenish

Would be cool if you could load into one particular map (forest?) with a random gearset kind of like scavs from tarkov. Nothing fancy or green/ blue etc. But different weapons. If you get out you get to keep the kit you're still holding and what you looted but there's a cooldown on how often you can queue it to stop people spamming only it.
how many campfires do you find in a raid? with the removal of rangers starting with them, they arent that common

But this is just anecdotal. My group of friends seem to find them rather easily
some people like variety and some like unique things... its why my wife is way hotter than yours.

I'd like to suggest a change to the archer. I'd like to try and play him more but I feel the projectiles don't fly accurate to how weighty the game feels. I do know about the ability that can be used to buff arrow speed and something else as well however, I feel having to spend a very valuable slot to just be able to compete against others seems a bit unbalanced. Maybe a base increase to how the arrows launch depending on the bow used would be a nice change. If that's too complicated due to all the weapons, maybe just a base increase that isn't as high could be blanketed over all the bows. But only as a passive ability for one of the 4 slots allowed. Open to criticism on my opinion.

I think that this class has a huge potential as combat support. I think he needs a song for debuffing monsters only, and some song for debuffing enemy players would be useful too.
In current form bard is just too weak. Anything he can do a wizard, or cleric can do better. He does'nt have his own niche.

Speed is ok, and the regen song saves you a lot of time maybe a song for armour buff or skills cdr

Bard is a huge counter to any spellcaster (including cleric) and the buffs genuinely make fighting way better for their allies.
Last i played wizard vs bard he silenced everyone, but not me. As a wizard youre not in the frontline so i dont really understand how he can affect me.

Unpopular opinion: Remove double jump from rogue and focus more on rogue stealth mechanics. If any class should have double jump it should be ranger. Or just remove double jump entirely.

I played with one really good bard on day 1. He would go out ahead with speed buff and cast chaotic dissonance in a room. Mobs would attack each other, then we would go in and finish em off. They aren’t very useful for pvp though so you’d better have a team that can fight.
I think staying ahead of the team in pve as a bard is the play. If you follow your team, chaotic dissonance is wayyyyyy less effective than if you’re out front. Just be ready to run

Well my suggestion would be to do when you remove armour you acualy take more dmg ffs there is no point in having good armour in this game
Suggestion:
- Change bard songs to not always require inputs on the same beats. Adds variety and makes the songs more fun and engaging.
- Increase the tempo on accelerando and peacemaking. It's not fun for non-bards to have to memorize what spell does what, and when more songs are added and you won't know what every bard has prepared, it'll be very helpful to know that, "Quick tempo means dangerous, slow tempo means utility."

I love rogue and am a rogue main but outside map needs to be fixed its 100% just rogues and rangers on the walls shooting people and its ruining the map tbh
Also the lighting is a big killer right now. Im also being seen in completely dark rooms with no torches and people still see me.
They should add something like scav run, i just got jumped by a full purple/blue team on normal run, half their loot was green and blue potions/bandages

Suggestion:
Add some form of "perch stamina".
Right now, you can easily safespot monsters by standing on small inclines or wall affixes such as torches - which while fun - makes PVE too trivial. There are also some unintuitive spots you could stand where nobody would look.
Perch stamina could be a stat tied to agility, where standing on too small surfaces for X amount of time, would cause the character to slip off, in a similar fashion to when standing on monster' heads.
(Monster safespotting may be fixed in another way than my suggestion, in which case perch stamina might be redundant.)

After playing the game for a couple of hours now, I really do not like the idea of a Battle Royal dungeon crawler. If able, I along with alot of other players would enjoy having a seperate gamemode to where we can crawl the dungeon and actually explore it without the need to watch for the circle closing as well as other players. Although PVP "Sells", not all players wish to experience this Medieval Fortnite battle royal. So far its a good game mechanic as well as visually, but I along with the other 2 or 3 parties I have played with do not like the PVP aspect along with the Closing ring.
My Suggestion: Make 2 seperate game modes, one that is your PVP/Battle royal, then the other make it a freeroam PVE gamemode. This will allow people of all mindsets to really enjoy the game you have produced.

It should be a detriment to your overall health to have no armor on and you need to take like 2-3 hits and then die. I just watched a Ranger take 4 hits from a spear and walk away with 40% health. I have 10 arrows in my inventory and i want to stop using bow and go slayer build on my fighter but:
- it wont let me put the arrows in my stash to store for later use
- If i sell them they sell for 0 Gold i must spend gold to buy more the next time i want to play
Suggestion make arrows at least white quality so they can be stored in the stash for later use.

Spellbook, wear lightfoot boots and drop pants, chest and helmet, they only slow you down. Prebuff haste, and cast invis to make distance
it would just mean they couldnt tweak arrows in quiver as a way to adjust how good certain bows are. and could mean with the right combo of quiver and bow you could be very powerful
Should be default for ranger imo and purchaseable for a low amount from merchants for the other classes that use ammo.
ok so it is a play style issue then gotcha. so as far as skills go my issue is in order to use spells solely for fighting i have to have meditation to regain the slots and i have to have memory to even choose spells. so whats the point of the other skills? that would mean i either have the ability to choose spells but have limited uses or i have to be a melee wizard

Game needs class limitations in parties. You're instantly dead if a team of Rogue's unstealth and all stab you at the same time. If they pick a group fight, they immediately kill one and then double jump away to safety before picking the rest of the group off. It's funny and sad at the same time

I agree it really doesnt make sense to have multiple of the same type of classes to a degree. multiple fighters i understand but some equipment and skills can be cheesed in groups

This barely any armor and taking numerous hits meta ain't it. Change it or it's gonna be too much. Just saw a Rogue with boots and gloves ONLY take 3 arrows, a Barb hit, and 2 stabs of a Rapier with 1 heal from a Cleric. That many hits with that little armor prior to getting healed should have had him dead on the ground
We need a filter in the trade chats to filter by slot type. ie. Being able to sort for helmets. Or pants.

I'm tired of dying to Rogue's that tank hit after hit while stabbing you 37 times with only a headpiece on and they just live because you die to poison and rupture. Meanwhile, even though they have no armor on, they just get to live.
There is ZERO penalty to wearing no armor. Just upsides. And that isnt' balanced in the least bit

They don't. I've watched it 3 times today. All Rogue's and all not dying. Saw a random person in a lobby stab a Rogue twice in the head with a blue Spear and they just walked away from it. Rogue only had on a headpiece. This shouldn't be a thing

I think the ai def needs to have a little more awareness, having 4 goblins chase me while theres a player just chilling in the middle of all of them even though im miles ahead of them
Blue spear is doing 45-60 damage to the head. It is not possible a rogue with 90 Hp lived that.

I'm not sure how likely this suggestion is to happen. But I feel like we need to limit gear power for matchmaking. There shouldn't be people in the non-paid dungeon wearing gold gear...it's just stopping any progress for any other players.

There should be hitstun thresholds for non-melee enemies, I agree. How you gonna shoot at me with perfect accuracy when a war maul smashed your teeth out 0.5 seconds ago.
Also, naked damage reduction needs to be less. I understand the value of dressing light to remain fast, but if you eat big hits, you should be dying very quickly. Currently the TTK on a naked person is barely different from someone in all white/greens that aren't plate, that's sus.
Should the bard's Chaotic Discord be longer?
It barely has enough time for the enemies to start attacking each other, only 1 or 2 hits, sometimes none.
another note on the bard, some enemies just walk straight at you and just dont attack

The enemy will finish its current action before performing a new one when you use chaotic on them. So if they are pathing to you, they path to you then turn around. If they are mid swing, they finish the swing and so on.

they just need to take the pathing off when you start it and itd be good, too many times all the enemies just walk right at me and then dont even attack each other

This is the least fun playtest so far. There are too many enemies that 1-2 shot you. Rogues are too fast and have way too much evasion abilities, bard has pretty much no equipment, many nerfs to the ranger, why not give them a quiver for the arrows and why do they still have to reload?

I agree. Rogues got overtuned to the point of brokenness, ranger's only real nerf is a huge hit to quality of life, with arrows taking up inventory space and not being storable. Overall, just feels kinda meh compared to the last playtest. Bard is basically useless, as well

The amount of people running around naked in the experimental map is insane. That's far too much power for nude people to have. Not to mention, double jumping needs some kind of cost like exhaustion from overuse or something.
Can I suggest giving us back control of the render-scale. I can't get the game to not look like garbage now.
Skills need better balancing, some having limited uses, and some having only a cooldown, but no set line on what type does, barbarians being able to rage through out the map and nearly one shot most non full rare geared players is a good example of it.
here is a suggestion, instead of having you by default have the dark greys, have your character start naked at the stash screen, you can equip the gear you want, then there is a button that says something like "fill defaults" or something that fills the appropriate slots with the dark greys, no more dumping or selling for 0, very good QoL

Game would be better severed with a time limit and random spawning doors rather than this terrible closing wall battle royale style crap if you want it to be battle royale style then no one can come with health or gear. The circle just promotes camping period especailly by geared and lvled players. Random door spawns will promote exploration and battle encounters.

15 arrows a stack that take up 3 tiles and crossbows dont even use the same ammo is nuts. I easily use 45 arrows a run so i have to give up 9 tiles of inventory just for ammo? Not to mention spending 45 gold on arrows, and then another 30 on meds. and another 25 on pots. 100 a run just for util is absolute insanity

I'm not saying you need to go a Melee build, I'm trying to suggest you don't play EXCLUSIVELY ranged. Conserve ammo by actually using a melee weapon and you'll end up saving 30 gold a run.
You'll also have to take less arrows and then take up less space. Rather than "45 arrows a run".

Most general mobs in the game have 150 or more hp with the exception of bats and such. It takes 5 arrows to kill one mob. so bringing 45 arrows is only enough to kill 9 mobs assuming I dont miss a single headshot. The arrow nerf is too much

They are different, mechanically. I get what you're saying, it's a possibility, but also they just perform different jobs. One is a consistent damage tool with lower base damage, one is a high damage, low rate of fire skirmishing weapon.
How would you even balance a universal ammo system? Archers need more arrows, but you need less ammo for the Crossbow. So do Rangers just now get less ammo to balance it out? You only find 2 arrows instead of 4 or 5? Or do we keep it the same and now Crossbow users have an absurd amount of ammo they can just pelt away with? It's not reasonable.

The Ruins and the howling crypt are feeling pretty good now, but they are separate and the Devs intend them to be together. . . so what we need, I think, is Crypt Keys. a common to uncommon drop in Ruins that will let a player go directly to crypt without playing ruins. Ruins needs to have lots of escape portals if it is to be new player friendly, the amount we have now is good. It would be nice to have the static red down extract point back in ruins, except make them open much sooner or maybe have them always open so players have a choice to go down or stay in ruins and extract. The loot in Ruins doesn't need to be as good as it is now, it could go back to what it was so long as players have LOTS of options to go down. Also a Crypt Key should be useable by a player to spawn a down portal in front of them at any time. Ruins should not be an attrition level. this way people who are new to the game will have no problem finding a blue escape portal if they can survive the environment and players, veteran players can skip ruins altogether or cut out of it early. lastly, Crypt should be a new lobby. the lobby we have now could be the crypt lobby and the tavern from last play test could be ruins lobby

blocking feels completely useless right now if you want to actually take advantage afteer preventing a strike. You can block every attack you want, but you gain no actual advantage because you and your enemy will recover at the same speed, meaning you will then swing at the same time no matter how many you block

Modify how experience is gained so that people playing support role get equal experience to those killing all the monsters. Right now, when bards play in a party and focus on crowd control and tranquility healing, they level up slower compared to the other party members who are focused on killing.

i think ranger needs abilities for crossbow. crossbow cant use the triple shot or multishot abilities and it makes them kinda obsolete

Rangers just feels so bad right now. You have double jumping rouges, dual wielding sprinting fighters and it's just an uphill battle every single melee fighter you face. They destroyed what was once a fun class. I think the trap change is even worse than the arrow change. We need traps as in plural. If not that allow us to pick up deployed traps. This is not even mentioning the cost to play the class. After getting out Now you have to spend around 50g for pots/arrows/traps. First off 10 arrows should be 1g. Traps should be 1g. They take up to much room to be stacked. If you don't want to give us more damage like poison or magic arrows. Then we should have some type of movement ability since every other class seems to have one. That might give us a fighting chance. A roll ability would be nice.
NGL rangers are the only class that legit angers me to go up against. everyones complaining about rogues but you can just fight a rogue. Many rangers play like such a pansy that you can never even get near them. its unfun for anyone else to play into

Rangers can't just fight a rogue in melee range or any other melee class. Also the game forces the ranger into melee ranger as the game goes on so eventually we will be at a disadvantage not matter what.

The amount of items to purchase from vendors for barbarians is way lower than other classes, maybe bump that up.
I have seen fighters with slayer triple swing in 1.5secs. That's just a combo not even an ability.

make chaotic discord agro ONE mob to the nearest player enemy, the rest of the mobs act as normal ( attacking each other )
each successive use of chaotic discord would then essentially be sending waves of a single mob their way with each use

I dunno if you're still up, but I have a group of 4 (including myself) who play this currently, and earlier we were playing a 3 stack in 1 while he was queueing into the goblin caves, and the 1st person to die in the 3 stack would rotate out and go to the caves, while the odd person out would rotate in for the next game

the swords swinging slower is part of what makes it a hardcore game, the deliberateness and slowness of weapons adds to the difficulty in a good way so you have to actually think about how you swing your sword and not just mash left click
swords also swing faster compared to MOST axes and blunt instruments

since suggestions are closed I'm putting them here:
Bard should have longsword and throwing knife access.
- DaD is based strongly on D&D, in which Bard has been allowed to wield longswords and throw knives in every edition Bard has appeared in.
- Bard uses swords, longsword is a sword.
- Bard deserves a weapon that can block.
- Fighter has several Fighter-specific weapons, it's fine to share longsword with Bard.
- Bard lacks the poison and bleed that lets Rogue shine with throwing knives, so it wouldn't really edge out Rogue there. It's just another option for ranged pressure.

Buckler is also a good option, but I think it doesn't really fit bard identity
in pretty much every dnd edition before 5e and also pathfinder, bards can use buckler iirc. a small shield that sorta protects but also maintains mobility matches bard identity perfectly imo, same as rogues
i think melodic protection should be buffed for defense. you don't really want to be taking the weapon out as bard unless its dire (and you're probably dead) so melodic protection passive should be your main form of defense usually
I think Bard's Melodic Protection should last until 10 seconds after you're done playing, so you can play a song get the buff and then engage someone with a weapon while buffed.
i agree tbh, or make melodic protection work like warsong where it affects your team for a short duration after you're done playing
melodic protection rn is the skill I don't use on bard (lvl 15 bard) because you never want to be attacked while playing
some random suggestions I've accumulated over a few days of playing:

Mimics should drop better loot than if they were just a chest, even if it's just guaranteed to be slightly better, to reward you for having to fight it.

Higher drop rate on lockpicks, I come across 1 every ~5-7 games and about 50 locked chests in that time.

Go back to how it was pre-patch 1 for fighter second wind, where resting recovers it very very slowly and campfire recovers it really quickly, instead of regular resting not recovering it at all. Campfires are very rare and cost 23 gold, which is a really high cost just to be able to use your ability more than once in every dungeon crawl. Not so fast that you can use it willy nilly, it should still take like 5 mins of resting to recover without campfire.

Add an oil-pot item that lets you create patches of flammable oil, this could slow players and npcs that walk over it and also set them up to be caught on fire.
-Bard's Dissonance skill silencing party members makes it useless- what is the bard expected to do, run up without their party, use Dissonance, and run back? No, because they'd get bumrushed instantly, and it only lasts 3 seconds so if the party is that far away they wont get close in enough time for it to matter. But otherwise, they cripple their party as well, meaning there's no reason to use it. Change this.

Its about the mimics. Its one of iconic monsters in dnd and its great we have them here, but after playing for few hours you can clearly remember which chest is a mimic bcs its always the same.
Could we have mimics spawn randomized so you never know if its a chest for looting or mimic? Dunno what would be the best approach for this (maybe % chance for every chest to spawn as mimic?), but it would be more autentic adding more suprise elements into this dark crawler.

rouge is still far too strong naked. one class being hyper mobile in a game where everything sacrifices mobility is absurd. as a cleric in full gear i shouldnt get 3 shot by a rouge with a dagger. also please adjust heals and buffs that you can cast them without maintaining los. almost every single dungeon run ive missed spells due to pixel missing or players being mobile to the point where i can't hit them and or it hits whatever theyre fighting. also please stop making spells cancel when you turn and hit the invisible hitbox of a chandelier or tapping wall. the map is wonky enough that players can't cast spells without risking them being canceled out for just looking around during the channel

use a book, it helps a lot with casting without hitting objects
mobile and naked rogue will be oneshot when you do hit it though. High risk high reward. Put on some armor, and the rogue will have to take ages to kill you, and as such you should be able to land the few hits needed to kill him

Rogues will be naked for more mobility, it doesn't tank their dps with a Mediocre Dagger and talents. They do way too much damage for how mobile they are. IM is listening to the weebs asking why rogues don't play like ninjas too much
the comment about naked rouge being one shot is incorrect. a green morningstar plus smit and holy strike maybe two shot a rouge but it has to be lucky enough to connect plus the range of rouges when using rapiers creates even more buffer. the fact that two extremely dominant classes can go in without any gear and consistently dominate is a good indicator. oh and about teammates its not easy to coordinate when the crosshair is centered on them but the spell misses. also you dont seem to understand the issue at hand with spell cancelation so please don't converse anymore as you're recommending an item to a much bigger problem that needs more than just a gear swap to fix.

I've played a wizard who casts buffs on teammates, and I have a mate that is playing Cleric. In the beginning it was very difficult landing spells on allies, but it gets better with time/practise
I need more love for the Dual Wield Barbarian - this could be such a funny class to play if the spells would fit the playstyle
I equip the Hatchet and the Horseman Axe for fast swings.
Dual wield barb is sadly not playable because:
- The Perk "Crush" doesnt work with 1 handed Weapons , so i cant break doors or chests
-The Skill "Blood Exchange" only works ONCE and cannot be recharged by Sitting/Resting, so the use is very limited

its not about the staff hitting walls during the initial cast. its during the channel it instantly cancels on any hitbox it hits be it player, chandelier or even crates below it. the fact you can begin the channel post cast shows theres enough room. i shouldn't stop casting because someone walked into me or the chandelier next to me has a bigger hitbox than model. again you're missing the mark here so please stop making suggestions about things you dont understand.

last playtest feels similar to this. however certain classes being extremely prevalent also is driving home certain playstyles. less fun for mages and new playstyles from bard just means playing safe is in or hyper fast scum classes nobody wants to play against.

i think you're not taking into account squishy and or more limited classes. for example w cleric you have almost exclusively vertical swings meaning dodging is extremely easy

They aren't weak to "Rangers" (idk wtf an archer is). That mentality is why Rangers got nerfed to begin with: people crying because they can't walk in a straight line down a narrow corridor at one. No half competent rogue is losing to a ranger in melee unless this game's out of control gear scaling is in favor of the latter.

They're just experimenting with more mechanics and there's more options to deal with it other than a straight nerf (see ranger as example). If they buff other classes and add mechanics to chase/slow/or add more ranged options they can still be "ninjas" while not being OP.

Longsword should get a buff. It is known that spear out performs longsword as a spacing tool, so longsword is mostly used to brawl close with riposte; however, I’ve noticed that shield falchion has been just completely countering longswords because of shield mastery and adrenaline on cooldown. Riposte can’t land because shields up after the party, and falchion just out performs close range. I think movement speed buff is in order for longsword!

ok so I've seen wizard get talked about a lot lately and honestly I think rather than focusing on their spells, I would look at their melee options, being limited to rondal dagger and a quarter staff makes it very difficult to tackle solo goblin caves, especially when you start from scratch

I'll try it again, but I distinctly remember not using the peace one on goblins because they kept attacking me, even though it says it works on everything
Best combo with bard is literally any other 1-2 people that can carry you. It's 30% of a completed class. If you know how to rat as a rogue from earlier play tests when they weren't overtuned then you can rat as a bard and will be able to figure out how to stay alive in group combat

I think we should get some more Bard Instruments which modify your spells. I came up with some examples. To keep in mind the Lute is -10 Movement Speed, 15 Damage, -17% Slowdown on Hit.
* Flute; Smaller AoE, Quieter, -5 Movement Speed, 5 Damage, 0% Slowdown on Hit, Dagger Swing Speed.
* Hurdy-Gurdy; 1/4th notes to hit in Minigame, Longer Minigame (So longer startup), Larger AoE, Louder, -20 Movement Speed, -20% Slowdown on Hit, Much Slower Swing Speed.
* Vielle (Medieval Violin); Quicker Minigame (So faster startup but harder Minigame), -10 Movement Speed, 12 Damage, -15% Slowdown on Hit, Faster Swing Speed.
* Bagpipe; Significantly Larger AoE, Double notes to hit in Minigame, Significantly Louder, -15 Movement Speed, 9 Damage, -20% Slowdown on Hit.
* Psaltery; 50% more notes to hit, +2-3 seconds to Duration of Songs effects after Song is finished (The song rings out at the end)(Duration bonus rolled), -25 Movement Speed, 15 Damage, Slower Swing Speed.
* Lyre; Smaller AoE, Much Quieter, Can be played while resting, 25% More Notes if not Resting, -5 Movement Speed, 12 Damage, -15% Slowdown on Hit, Faster Swing Speed.
I picked Instruments that were genuinely used in Medieval times at a common rate and not rarer instruments.

I think it changing playstyle would make the class feel so much more diverse feeling and provide alternate builds based on player preferences.
You can but there's three things to consider:

you will move slower than every one else while channeling meaning the enemy can still position themselves to dumpster you before it fades

you will need to wind it up before hand and the enemy will kite away from you and use projectiles

wizards and clerics can still nuke you

I think in general we will be seeing more songs and the ability to swap them out (which is evident on the Music Memory skill having a 1 and 2) but right now the BARE MINIMUM is in. He was snuck in, he is not currently finished. They aren't scared, they just haven't done anything.

Bard seems to be a particularly non-competitive class when compared to others and only useful in groups....solo is exceedingly difficult to play.
I feel that if they eliminated the movement speed debuf when playing the Lute....the bard would be more competitive as a class....and although your DPS would still suck...you could atleast be good at running away and surviving.
I believe that we just need more music sheets that justify it, the movement speed debuff could be lessened by 75% as well.
Solo is difficult anywhere but goblin caves
That said Solo is amazing in Goblin caves due to enemy density but other than that yes they're immensely difficult. Enemies poisoning also helps.
There should be a song that makes enemies slower actually.
I couldn't agree more that the movement penalty NEEDS to go away when playing a song. It's not like you're flying around the map while pumping out 80-100 dps in blues

Ironically I've had more success solo in the 3 man dungeon then I have with a team simply because if you're taking team fights and the two people with you aren't capable of carrying you're going to lose to the other 3 man with a real comp

Turn away as you move away, you will move faster and if you get hit you will take limb damage which is less
Certain enemies reach is slightly longer than their model but when you get used to it you won't have the problem anymore.

Yeah it has been happening from time to time, don’t move items if it is bugging out, they’ll probably get deleted.
Tried to come up with some Music to try and make the class a little more varied in power but not stray too far from it's identity.
* Heroism; In an AoE allies become Immune to damage reducing debuffs and gain 25 Temporary HP (They gain 25 HP even if it goes over max and then they lose 1 HP per second for 25 seconds) for 25 seconds. Amount of Temporary HP scales with Will.
* Clairvoyance; In an AoE highlights Chests, Pots, Levers, Portals and Traps for you and allies for a duration based on how well you play.
* Dullness; In an AoE lowers action speed by 75% for a duration based on how well you play.
* Sluggishness; In an AoE lowers movement speed by 33% except for you for a duration based on how well you play.
* Vicious Mockery; Deals magic damage every second of the song in an Spherical AoE (instead of Circular). Damage falls off the further out in the AoE the enemy is.
Thoughts?
Idea of Sluggishness was to let the Bard reposition easily but also could be utility otherwise.

yeah, another idea would be to have "individual" vs "group" songs....make the individual songs quicker and more powerful so you can be more versatile in your play style.
it feels like for Bard they put all the eggs into a support class and made it useless outside of that context....and even then he is less useful than cleric in groups. Underwhelming is appropriate term.

Yeah the only 1v3 I managed on bard was kiting people around the 3 floor room with the tower in the middle and all the spikes down below. No fall damage allows for some interesting plays
That too, it would require a major redesign of most maps and you know how hard it was to get it it to where it is now from how hellish the maps were early on. Just changing up the skeletons this test threw it off hard.

I feel like they only aim for the head like pre-nerf Archer Skeles though, I haven't not been hit in the head by them; only headshots no body shots. They either hit me in the head or I strafe it while jumping so it cant hit me until it's dead.

It's less because it's the best thing to do and more because it's fun, just like when the Pyro update happened for TF2 everyone played Pyro; this update introduced double jumping and outside.

i agree, limited access points make for high tension areas where you know ambushes are likely and make playing a rogue with that tactic riskier and therefore less cheesy

A better situation for the wall tops is having lets say 3 wall tops connected but purposely putting blockers like towers and such and having sections of areas connected and designed for it to happen instead of it just happening.
That was just one solution, admittedly it may not be the right one. Limiting double jump is probably better.

I think designing areas ment to be double jumped to and balancing around that instead of nerfing double jump is ideal.
look guys personally imho balance is the death of good games. weapons and fighting arent necessarily balanced in real life and trying to make a wizards magic balanced vs a rogues ability to set ambushes vs a fighters ability to live through a fight is a practice in futility. the different classes have different strengths and that should be part of a hardcore game like this.
that said i do think there is space to make the different classes' strengths functionally sound and not overpowered.
Nah I don't agree with that, you can balance and keep things fun; if something is fun but OP you don't change it but things around it that are inconsequential to maintain it.
Inconsequential in this situation is the designs of the tops of the walls on the maps.
You put more blockers to keep people from having FULL access to the entire map from the tops, just sections.
There just needs to be reasons to play each class. I hate Uber meta stuff. It becomes boring when everyone has to play the meta to compete

One of the strengths of DD is that each class is so unique in play style.....and takes time to learn. Its important to learn how to counter other classes and implement strategy.

but wiping double jump? nah. nerfing rogues? nah. i'm not even a rogue main but it makes the game fun to know that a rogue can ambush you. tbh if you aren't watching out for an ambush at this point and aware of where a rogue is likely to ambush then you probably need to check your in game awareness

Suggestion: Add an option to forfeit or give up your current inventory to get your starter gear again, it's a bit inconvenient to join games and leave everytime if you want your starter loot back.

I agree with this, but to compensate they should be more inclined to do their screech so they can actually get atleast 1 out before they die.
Goblin Poison was a nightmare before. I think it's cherry right now. Just gotta play around it. Their movesets are very predictable and consistently dodgeable; getting nicked here and there doesn't kill you.
That poison is mean lol. Chaos makes them my strongest weapon as a bard. Can solo like 8 and a shaman as they just poison themselves into oblivion
Something I'd accept if they REALLY wanted to nerf Poison without changing anything is make Poison work like alot of other games where Poison can bring you down to 1 HP but cannot kill you.

skeleton crossbow needs a nerf. i just opened a door and one was standing directly on front of me. had no time to react and it just one shotted me near instant. their crossbow being already loaded and having high damage can result in this bullshit.
bard is literally so much fun, most fun ive had. i think the game really needs more teamwork pushing aspects, and i feel like bard brings a little bit of that as a class. more things that need teamwork will make for fleshing out its own genre instead of just being a medieval tarkov, and giving other pve options will appeal to a large player base that doesnt have time to get hardcore pvp skills while also keeping and respecting space for the pvpers that are devoted to the game. only thing is im not sure if chaotic discord gives xp when they kill each other, anyone know?

Goblins are way to easy to kill. I don't think the mobs need to change, I think them being allowed to swing through walls, when we can't should change. For example, fighting the Fallen Knight. You use weapons like longsword against him, you'll lose in small corridors. Its frustrating.

Taking yourself completely out of gameplay state to just sit for 2 minutes feels bad for game flow in my opinion.
If it stays around, I think the ticking should be faster or do more health per tick.

My proposed changes for Bard to increase viability
I'll first start by saying I've played almost solely Bard this playtest and have experience with the previous 2 as well. I've gotten to level 20 and played a decent bit of all 3 maps and started recently trying highroller.
My problems with the abilities and some possible solutions in order are as follows:
- (Speed song) The duration feels pitiful and a lot of the time if feels like it slows you down for longer than it speeds you up.
First fix could be to remove/lower the speed penalty when playing this song but increase play time to allow you to use it as a burst of speed for running away leaving you normal speed/slightly slower but then quicker in waves while running away.
Second fix would be to just increase the duration greatly similar to sprint letting you play it before entering a room with players to allow your team to engage quicker or get a head start running away if the fight is a bad idea.
2.(Aggro song) I love this ability and it doesnt need much changed in my opinion but a MAJOR QOL change would be to just make it STRICTLY make the AI attack each other instead of anything BUT the bard. Its a very useful ability but becomes extremely unreliable and honestly just makes fights harder when with a group due to it making who and when the mobs attack very random. Along with minor bugs ive noticed such as mobs chasing the Bard even while under its effects until it gets into a range in which it would attack and only then turns to attack something else.
3.(Peace song) Again this ability has its very niche uses and has helped in a few cases but I think with how long it takes to play and how slow it makes you I think it would be fair to just lower the play time or increase the bards move speed while playing because most of the time enemies just run out of range and use ranged attacks or ignore it completely with enough move speed and a long weapon.
4.(Heal song) After hotfix #2 this ability feels mostly fine but would be much more useful if it acted fully like resting allowing your team to regen a small amount of their abilities. I think a major downside that was kind of overlooked was how important being quiet in this game is and constantly playing loud music would seriously hamper teams farming spells. Another way to possible balance it would now that we DO regen spells while resting if the bard played this song it would increase the speed instead of letting them do it on the move.
Apart from the songs I think Dissonance duration could be increased a little and encore should play the next song instantly and without inputs. Thank you so much for reading if you actually did and I hope to play you all some songs in the dungeons 😉

They seriously need to change Encore on Bard. It's completely outclassed in all respects by that one Wizard skill that makes the spell instantly cast. Like no offense, but why? Why would I want to bring an entire skill just so it can play the song for me? I have hands, lol. I can play it myself.

Dont bring encore, bring dissonance. Encore is booty. Some songs you can actually sped up by intentionally messing up 1/2 notes
I have a suggestion:
The archer dmg on the spawned enemies needs a massive debuff. As a melee character you have to run at them and there is currently no way to avoid the projectile from close distance without a shield. you just take an immediate 40% hp bar worth of damage.
The red skeletons with crossbows need to be removed. there are at least 3 locations ive spawned where a red skelly crossbow will fire at me as soon as i open spawn door and im starting the dungeon at either less than 30%remaining hp or im auto-headshot dead already.
suggestion: reduce wizard's movement speed penalty after casting spells.. namely: slow. It's so bad that it's actually pointless to bring as a solo wizard. You cast "slow: 40% movespeed slow for 2.5 seconds" on an enemy, and the self-cast speed penalty is so harsh that they're still faster than you anyway
i know it unlocks jail doors, but i dont think you can re-lock them behind you. if you already can relock them then it's an oversight on my part haha

I have been a multi hundred hour playtester and I believe what the bard needs Is to be allowed to heal others with bandages like a medic. This would allow for more diverse bard build around perks and make it a better support for true health.
