fighter or barbarian? either way, if you have a shield you need to angle blocks, if you have no shield you need to either dodge to the side to avoid attacks or bait out enemy attacks and get some hits in while theyre recovering, it just takes a little time to learn how many hits with each weapon you can get in with each enemy in-between their attacks

So if ur saying it adds like that, i would think its a pretty bad way to make a bonus stat to give you such little. Kinda irreleveant but I find that flat damage benefits fast, multi hit weapons like hatchet and daggers, since they can theoretically land more hits in the span of a single, larger weapon swing. Likewise, percentage damage is more beneficial to the slow two handers so that one hit you land hits even harder.

the idea is that you should kite the barbarian and kill him but unless you use rapier, it's very hard if he is a good player he will X /chase or slow you down via throwable axes, so not much you can do, @echo wadi you are playstyle is kinda like, turn some lights off at choke point go stealth wait for some one to go nearby /cleric/mage 2-3 shot em, run try to bait again etc, but straight 1v1 vs fighter /barb you shouldnt be winning at all and obviously if they see you first it's very hard to pull of any plays

You're right for default clerics, which is the main question I suppose. I shouldn't just assume everyone has gear to counter everything. Heater Shield pretty much makes you invulnerable to a lot of archer BS, assuming you know how to block arrows with it. But default cleric can be a little awkward against some archer map modules. Against the death beetles, you bless yourself and then you can kite them in a circle similar to how a rogue would.

The "necromancer discussion" is an old one. Devs have talked about it before. The issue is how any meaningful summon would be for players. If you're alright with being a necromancer who raises completely useless skeletons, then that could work. But if they would tank damage - or hell, even fight - they would be busted.

Maybe yeah. I can see adding lifesteal in a balanced way, but there's also a risk of it being broken... The game's combat is hard to balance in that PvE and PvP occupy the exact same realm. Meaningful healing against mobs would lead to imbalanced pvp - and balanced healing against players would be pretty useless against mobs. Also, you can just sort of not get hit to have "lifesteal".

I like the idea of a necromancer class, but it needs to be pulled off well. It's a thing to be balanced like every class.

The current classes need to be heavily balanced right now. Wizards are being nerfed to the ground, barbarians are busted, rogues need help, fighters are too dependent on their gear, clerics are too stuck in the cleric two archer combo, and rangers... well, I am too biased against them, but they still need to be balanced too.

Don't even get me started on a possible bard.

Hmm, I think I mostly agree? I'm stuck on your discussion of class balance rather than your major point. I agree with your main point.

I don't think Wizards are unplayable - I think they're still very strong after nerfs. Barbarians are pretty damn strong, but also very vulnerable to counter-play. They're some of the easiest to play around of any class (outside of high skilled barbs with fran axes). Fighters are super gear dependent, but so are Rogues. Both shine with even decent gear. Rogue balance is a topic I could go on and on about. I also think Clerics are incredibly good for PvP and Hell Boss PvE. I think Clerics are more than happy with the state of the game post-Sanctuary.

There are some major perks to clerics in solo pvp as well. Protection, Bless, Divine Strike, full plate armor, drunken perk. They can 1v1 a barb because their physical damage reduction is massive and their DPS is actually better than Barb's at that point.

It runs into the issue of solo rogue / solo fighter where you need to risk 100's of gold to be competitive with other classes in default gear. But with the right gear, Cleric is at least on equal footing with other melees. Cleric is notably really bad against Ranger but what can you do.

You misread that. Will = magic power, magic power increases healing done. "Magical Healing" increases healing received.

Same with buff duration, it increases buffs YOU receive. And debuff duration decreases the duration of debuffs that affect you - it does not increase the duration of YOUR debuffs. It's counter-intuitive.

Hello! I'm doing some wizard soloing (lv12 here)

Atm Im running: Arcane Mastery, Quick Chant, Fire mastery.

I use spells: Zap (for bats), Haste, Invi (utility) arcane missiles (damage tool) and I usually swap between ignite (for +arcane missile dmg) and fireball.

What builds do you guys use? Do you have any tricks to master the class?

That's the meta wizard build, more or less. You can try going Dagger + Crystal Orb, that's the best damage setup for wizard right now. So you use missiles at a range, then invis + haste to close gaps and ignite stab people to death.
