like one of them is literally napping against a wall in the path of a boulder lmao
They're snakes, they might be a bit dim
that's true
i leveed up my faith to 15 so now i should be able to join the sunlight covenant
but that means i have to walk all the way back
mad
just do it when it's convenient
but i want the gesture cause i think it'll look funny with Smough's armor
one of the covenant rewards implies that that destroyed statue is of Gwyn's firstborn
They're immortal
why is the Capra Demon's arena so shitty
Probably because they made it in a week
i wish gaping dragon wasn't such a pushover he has such a cool design
You can use a slow defensive build if you want the fight to be more dramatic
Full Havel, with shield
Witness the birth of a God. The coming of a Lord.
And follies better left forgotten.
In that forsaken place, blood must spill.

Can't play immediately due to a zoom class
and i'm pretty sure the servers will explode
I'll be home in like 1 hour and a half and I have a 2 hours raid in FFXIV and tomorrow I wake up early
Plus I still need to get there with the character I want to play the DLC with so probably the weekend for me
If I'm lucky
I can't rush too much because I kinda want to progress the quests
In case there are interactions between the DLC stuff and the current questlines
My current playthrough is doing the flame of frenzy ending, so i wonder if the dlc will affect it/be affected by it

indiana jones
what do you mean
sometimes Catherine does a build like that, like, chaos-fire weapon and minimal str/dex to wield it, and then high HP and high stamina
now it's saying 4 hours. Must've been a display bug
So close
Probably gonna wait till tomorrow to play it tho
Since it comes out at like 10pm
Just played a few min on my steam deck. Runs beautifully and even looks great, but I'm installing it on my laptop because I want a bigger screen
😔
I did get to the shadow area (was waiting at mohg), found one mob, it killed me and then I killed it
i first tried the Iron Golem this run through because me and the spirit pushed him off the arena 😭
bullying him
I've seen coop helpers do that, like, 3 or 4 big swings and the golem just goes off the edge
he even had a special animation where he tried to regain his balance
poor guy
im gonna get the lordvessel and then probably try to save Solaire
GG
fuck it im staying up to play Shadow of the Erdtree
Just beat mohg and walk up to the thing

You probably have to downgrade it to +10 first
gaggffffhh
and in NG+ you should be able to get a second copy of various unique pickups
lordvessel makes it easy to get to him if you have it already
whatever i'll do it after Ornstein and Smough yeah
(x5)
i was reading the ER DLC thread and this comment made me laugh
He's not getting mogged?
DS2 swag game is indeed strong
Yeah, a lot of my favorite sets in ds3 are just from ds2
They look better in ds3 tho
True
ER then said "A lot of people really like knight armor sets, what if we made like 15 variations on the theme"
I don't even mind, they are all fucking cool
And then there's this
Shadow of the Erdtree minor spoiler
That is creepy as fuck
this is so flames
I saw a version with a beetle for a mask but can't find it
so i rewatched the intro cutscene and i have 2 big questions
- what does it mean by "Nito, first of the dead"? does that mean he was the first god/human/whatever Nito is to ever die?
- who is the Furitive Pygmy
so easily forgotten?
I forget
but yes, regarding Nito I do think it literally means he was the first to die
I mean he's not dead dead, so ig it's not a big deal
Looks like you get some lore for the furtive pygmy from Darkstalker Kaathe
tldr ||the lord soul that the pygmy found was the dark soul, and is associated with humans. He ostensibly patiently waited for the fire to fade and the age of dark to begin, but Gwyn sacrificed himself to link the flame to prevent this||
you can meet him by killing the four kings before placing the lordvessel via kingseeker frampt
damn
||Pygmy is probably mad huh||
I have no idea where he is or what he's up to
I guess he could be Manus, but who knows
Gwyn really fucked everything up by prolonging the Age of Fire lmao
hey at least the age of fire didn't have people going hollow
isn't that why people are going hollow though? cause the world was supposed to move on a long time ago and Gwyn refuses to let it move to the Age of Dark which results in the cycles and undead returning ?
I thought it was that when the age of fire starts to end people start getting the darksign which gives them the undead curse
Imagine being so fragile that you fucking die before literally anything else, but all your pals survive forever
parry king
the more i think about it the more i feel kinda bad for Gwyn
he's just a scared old man at the end of the day
Did you beat Gwyn with parries?
Souls first and second playthroughs are so different
1st playthrough inching through every street, rounding every corner with a large margin, looking into every weird feature of the topography in case you can jump on that
Total playtime 35 hours
2nd playthrough "LOL, SPRINTING THROUGH 3 DIFFERENT AREAS TO GRAB BONFIRES TO GRAB THE WEAPON i PLAN TO USE THIS TIME"
Total playtime 6 hours and 25 minutes
I don't think so, no
Basically George did the original "ancient lore" - the stuff that happened in the past, setting up the world's history. What happened after and what's presently in the game was the studio writers
right ok
“We started off by giving him these very vague and broad themes and ideas for the mythos that I had swimming around in my head, along with what kind of games we typically make, and the sort of themes we’d like to explore in our games,” Miyazaki told Edge. “So it was all very loose and quite vague. Then he would come back to us with a lot of ideas: how about this, this, and this? That back-and-forth started the exchange of ideas.”
----
“Elden Ring was going to take place in, let’s say the present of their game universe. But what they wanted me to write was what happened like 5,000 years before that,” he said. “So I went back and wrote a history of what happened 5,000 years before the current game, and who all the characters were and who was killing each other and what powers they had. They had these runes that were at the center of the game, and the rune got split into many pieces, and that’s what screwed up the world. I laid all that out.”```
Martin really did an amazing job with it btw
There is a huge level of cohesion to the history that transfers to the characters to a level that Dark Souls simply doesn't have
For how amazing DS is
I do enjoy the Elden Ring world more than the dark souls one, I have to say
Which is huge praise coming from me, because I fucking love the dark souls world. Well, I don't really care so much about the DS2 one, but aside from that
I think that you can follow both the history of the world and the various characters journey through it
I'm not talking about NPCs necessarily, but even minor random bosses.
whoa
It's not dissimilar from Dark Souls, but the richest and more complex history do give From a better chance to shine in their unique way to tell their story
A metric fuckton of the story is found in the item descriptions - you get the barest bones from playing the game/watching cutscenes/dialogue
I played some of the Elden Ring DLC with a few friends today. It was super fun
Yeah i love it
is there a faster way to Darkroot Garden than through Undead Parish
i just membered the door by Havel
Fastest way is through the valley of drakes but it's super dangerous

I'm so happy we got another soulslike game that looks very close to Fromsoftware style while Fromsoftware themself is resting
seeing tenma maemi using a bleed build makes me want to do another play through of elden ring
looks like collosal weapons has been given a buff to attack speed / recovery lag, so i wana do a play through with the giant bonk weapon again
This tool is separate from the "Black Myth: Wukong" game itself and is non-playable.The "Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool" is a PC benchmark application specifically developed for "Black Myth: Wukong". On my laptop, with everything maxed out. Definitely saw some dips. If I turn off raytracing (which is apparently pathtracing here) i was getting 60fps
Seems better optimized than some other recent relases, at least
Lies of P was very optimized
I heard Lies of P was good
That's good to hear, I'll definitely get it at some point
Yeah there were a few dips but nothing terrible
(i'm thinking jedi survivor for example)
Exactly
Oh, I tried it on my steam deck, worked pretty well but with a lot of the graphic settings on low, and I did see a bunch of the hi-res graphics popping into view as you got closer. But at the recommended settings, it was staying around 45-50fps
does steam deck count as console?
Possibly?
Anyone know any mlp elden ring mods? I just think it'd be really funny
Oof. Early reviews suggest that the launch (not benchmark version) version of black myth wukong has performance issues
No, you don't have to finish the game
did you see all of the onion knight's story?
Please play on until you fight him
It'll be a lot of fun!
The storyline I'm talking about is missable, but it doesn't start until about twenty hours in so don't worry about it right now
If you want the advice now, here it is, properly spoilered:
1- You will meet him in the ||Undead Settlement at the elevator||. This is a guaranteed encounter. There's a puzzle to solve ||Right in the same elevator.|| If you solve it, you get to meet him again thinking about something dangerous. Do it instead of him and make sure he doesn't die.
2- You may meet him again in the ||Cathedral of the Deep, where he's stuck in a well.|| Help him out there. You can't mess it up as badly so I won't go into detail.
3- You may meet him again in ||Irythill of the Boreal Valley|| but it's not important.
4- VERY IMPORTANT: You can find him in ||a cell in a prison. Rescue him|| before you kill Yhorm.
As long as you do step 1 and 4 correctly, you will see his questline to completion.
You should only parry black knights
its a lot quicker paced combat with everything focused on being lighter
Yeah. Items like small shields, the parry dagger, etc. have a slightly easier parry window though
Honestly I like how parrying works in ds3, it's more satisfying to pull off and isn't as busted
I agree
You can parry a lot of attacks, and it's satisfying to pull off, but it can be harder at times and takes more practice to get good at

i knew sekiro isnt hard
"guide and gatekeeper looking for their roots"
why cant people just talk normal and not in riddles
"impaler's catacombs" sounds very friendly
what does the luck stat do
ds3
Luck makes item drops happen more
Like other stats, it gives you a little bit of defense with each curse. Also, it makes bleeding and poison on enemies happen faster
When you have a hollow weapon, it scales damage with your luck
ooh
thinking about Ash Lake
its a fun zone
why is Iudex whatever such a pushover (yes i rebought ds3 because it was on sale)
some guy with a samurai sword just rocked my shit wtf
yeah, sword master saber is spicy if you're not expecting him
though he can be cheesed incredibly easily and accidentally
Ieudyx Gundyr is a lot of fun to parry!
He's a pushover because they don't want people bouncing off the game before they see the cool stuff
found a guy in a cell with a spooky hood on ?
on the way to the gargoyle boss in undead parish?
i think the key is past the big dude to the left? before you get to the angel pit thing
i never recall since i just happen upon it every time
angel pit thing ?
Vordt keeps kicking my ass
fuck you vordt
Tip
Just keep your distance until you get the opportunity to kick him in the ass instead
He's got a big vulnerable behind
ya know when your on the tiled roof with the dude who explodes into a giant corruption monster? when ya drop down the small ladder and theres a big shield dude one way, and a bunch of crossbows and hollows the other way, its the big shield way
then you go down big ladder, and theres a dude who casts a bunch of random aoe smites and has tiny wings on his back
I love Vordt
Very good intro boss. The first real boss of the game
Also I'm not saying I'm going to play Marvel Rivals...but I'm also not saying I'm not going to play Marvel Rivals.

🐿️ Despite being loved and surrounded by her BFFFS (Best Furry Friends Forever), Doreen Green had always questioned the root of her powers. With time, she embraced her Squirrel-like abilities, no matter their origin, and set her heart on becoming the best super hero there is.
With her mammalian powers and ability to communicate with squirrels,...

You're in the wrong neighborhood
I love that she jumps by hitting the ground with the tail
#1032716748887179434 is that way
Oh yeah
I throught it was general gaming
It's fine the souls thread is my safe space, the others don't need to know about my impending marvel rivals addiction
Don't worry, you're not the only one that might get addicted
He can be a bit annoying. I recommend opening the shortcut before you fight him
yes !
i got the shortcut
i beat him last night
apprently the claymore is in this level so i'm gonna go searching for that
Oh the Astora Straight Sword is my favorite weapon in this level
i love the claymore in ds1 so i may as well try it in this game
i think i have enough strength and dex
Claymore gang
oh it's in a similar place as ds1
Yeah DS3 is a game made for people with a fetish for DS1
can you only level up at Firelink ?
so me
You can level up at firelink only
Yeah she's the best firekeeper
Also comes back when killed so you can use her to test how much damage weapons deal
i dont think ill do that
They didn't put enough DS2 in DS3 😭
kratta is dark souls 2's biggest fan
@sharp cosmos tell everyone how much you love ds2
It's a good game
ds2 will forever be the peak of the souls franchise
are Embers as rare as humanity or should i be constantly embering
They are slightly more rare unless you actively farm for them
what is with these games and the stupid annoying big arrows
whaaat the fuck
big ass tree killed me
Classic mistake
You didn't start the game with the gift that actually looks useless but in reality makes that part of the game easier
i honestly didnt know that worked for that!
if firebombs didnt make the first boss take 6 seconds if swap to starting with that
i keep wanting to give up but then i remember my character will go hollow if i do that
Did you talk to the onion knight yet?
He is in the first level where you see the white tree
white tree ?
If you haven't seen it, don't worry about it
If you have seen it, you'll probably know
if cap fought cursed rotted, that means going past at least 1 white tree
Yeah
Yeah!
If you talk to him he becomes your friend and even shoots enemies for you
If you kill him he drops a unique ring that makes your arrows better though so...
Why'd you do that?
It's an optional boss
Do you want me to tell you optional stuff you can find, or just the directions to the next areas?
idk, fun
i went to where Siegward was and we fought a big fire monster together and then it looped back around
Okay, here's a question to get you to think: What was Siegward confused about when you met him?
why did the elevator only go down when he wants to go up, i already figured that out though by stepping on the elevator and getting off immediately and the elevator that goes up came down, that's how i befriended the giant and me and Siegward fought him. oh i see what you mean now, i should go to the church basement ? where the ice creature is
No, it doesn't have anything to do with what equipment you have.
If you want to think about it, go ahead and take your time. If you want to fight him head on, no problem: he's hard but doable.
If you can't figure it out, I can tell you what's up
ok im ready for a hint
Okay, so
This guy just lunges at you, so you can make the elevator go up and trick him into falling in the pit
He will die instantly and you will not lose his drops
insane strat, thank you
Good luck!
Another strategy is to lure him into the elevator area and while he's stuck there you run in, open the door and leave
You're welcome. Getting past him is the only way to finish the game, I'm pretty sure
(Minus the dancer which is just this guy but bigger)
who the fuck is that
she had a huge buther blade thingy
she wrecked my shit
also this place is pretty
road of sacrifices
nvm got her 😎
The weapon she drops is pretty good
does she respawn
No
yeah but i love my claymore
This is basically a claymore
met some friendly fellas
some guy from Astora and his bud says our paths may cross sometime later
is "may the flames guide you" Dark Souls' "may the force be with you" or "live long and prosper"?
||Spoilers||
how do i extinguish these fire
Which fires?
oh three specific flames
its still very funny to me that most mods, even the ones designed to be more difficult, nerf that fucking swamp
it aint a difficult zone but it is an annoying swamp
playing bloodborne again on a pure arcane build, got up to rom and damn getting ganked sucks when i trying cast stuff
idk if its because im rusty, but bosses like rom and shadow of yharnam feels a lot more difficult on pure arcane build compared to when i played through using a bloodtinge (chikage) and str (hammer) build
were the basilisks in the poison swamp really necessary
They aren't even the worst part
the big guys suck
i do so little damage to them and they take away 3/4s of my health with a single hit
Yeah
I recommend ranged weapons for them
Definitely avoid melee unless you use a fast weapon and have good timing
As far as poison swamps go, it's definitely a rough one
You're bugging, arcane builds melt rom if you take advantage of his weakness to lightning damage
I think I need to build a bolt weapon, fire weapon and arcane weapon
these abyss watchers are driving me crazy
Yeah it's a tough fight
Remember that you can summon like four different NPCs to help
Try rolling!
They are easy to backstab and parry
i like making them fight each other
The watchers with glowing red eyes will fight the boss if you're not next to them
oh shit reallt ?
too bad im all out of embers
Three of the NPCs you can summon have additional requirements so practically you'll have one or two
The lothric knights between vordt and the old woman have a good chance of dropping embers and are easy to kill at your point in the game
The red eyed one has the same chance to drop embers but has other drops so don't go for him if you only want embers
😌 just remember you can always try again and youll never hollow
the big door thing at the end of the elden ring dark reign trailer really looks like the throne of want
maybe waifu will be in the game
i just realised bloodborne is missing a great club weapon
It has other weapons that are great clubs but not called Great Club
Despite that they are eligible for the great great club club
but i want two hand giant stick weapon
kirk hammer kinda like great club, but its a hammer and not a club
Amygdalan arm not good enough for you?
It unfolds
the souls are dark
only some of them
are the rings elden
idk elden ring is out of my wheelhouse, the eponymous dark souls being shards of humanity however
i think i'll try elden ring again
ive tried it several times and i still havent gotten into it
yeag, i could never super get into it
If I ever end up in this alley while I'm walking around I'm gonna have a panic attack
There's a railing so you can't cheese the dogs either
throw an alluring skull to the side
I'm not parting with my cool skull
level design is my passion
It's actually good design
I'm of the opinion that Elden Ring is worse than DS I get it
wife is flexing in Dark Souls. She just did the second bell before the first bell. Came back to the first bell in "get the tail axe in one swing" mode. Also summoned someone who was pretty strong, who two-shotted the second gargoyle.
dog !
ah dammit my DS3 save wasn't saved when i uninstalled it
gotta get that intro speedrun down
i've just finished dark souls the first (remastered specifically), in perfect time to play the new seamless co-op thing with pals
when i initially fell off it, couple years ago i think, i just stuck with the thought that the games weren't for me for forever... f
k was i ever mistaken sweep craves more
DS1 is very special
i like it a lot, i expect i'll end up playing it many more times
beyond just the variety in playstyles and playthroughs, the world is wonderfully memorable and i get the sense will already kinda feel like home to return to
sweep recieved bloodborne, an unusual easter gift but certainly a welcomed one
first impressions: i'm scared holy f
k i'm scared there are horror games that do not frighten like this does
it stopped being fun pretty quickly i'm way outta my league
It's a hard game but if you persevere I'm sure you will figure out a way to make it fun again
to fight in souls 1 felt like a waltz eventually, this one it's more a mosh pit
sweep's just finished bloodborne
indeed there were hints of fun but at large the way it plays just was not really for me, though not not for me enough to quit playing it... hell i got close at points tho
I'm glad you finished it
my line for difficulty was midway through the DLC so i never finished that, but i'm not super opposed to a second playthrough down the line
souls 2 soon methinks, going in a bit of a weird order but after the upped aggression of borne i am desperate for the souls
I recommend 3
giving DS2 a shot at least, it is quite different but the vibe of the world hits just right
thats my fav one
ohhh hell i adore DS2, the weapons are a standout component of fun to play about with
my inner belmont is delighted to wield a whip even if it ain't the best option, and i love a hammer for bonking folk with
two months of on-and-off soulsery, i've finished DS2.... something something smile cause it happened
was SotFS version i probably should've said initially, absolutely loved all but one area of the game
i went from DS1 to bloodborne, stands to some strange reason that i may go from DS2 into Sekiro... hell i may i've already started playing
Sekiro went awful though I had a feeling it might, there's a certain level of focus I just cannot attain... I'd like to say DS3 has been more inviting but every enemy and boss went to the f
king Bloodborne school of we're gonna move in this speedy, choppy manner that's unbelievably difficult to read, much less keep up with
There comes a point where I am looking dead on at the screen, and all I can see is a big blur, five hits later I'm back at the bonfire and I can't tell what happened
maybe the real conclusion here is that sweep needs glasses, or better eyes... or a reality check dammit
yeah DS3 and Elden Ring enemies move way faster than DS1 (which is possibly a reason i'm not as into them)
i liked how slow and methodical 1 is
even the enemies i could keep up with in DS1 are certified reflex-demanding demons now
sweep already went and got Elden Ring and everything, a pal promised we'd co-op it, and now i question if it will really be so much a co-op experience or more a pal's playing and i'm occasionally jumping in and dying
DS2, in all the flaws i've heard so much about, was an utter joy from start to finish
there was exactly one area i did not like, but after only a ways worth of DS3 I'm already considering booking a flight back to Frigid Outskirts
i should try out DS2, all i know about it is that Miyazaki wasn't as involved (iirc he was working on Bloodborne at the time) and for that reason it's kind of the black sheep of the Fromsoft Soulslikes
it has points of frustration that i personally did not mind, the sense of adventure and scale of the world (and being able to look at the screen without fatigue that definitely helps) made the whole experience one of my all time favorites
very much a preferential thing, idk it checked my boxes anyhow
tbf i don't think it'd be a soulslike if it didn't have points of frustration haha
Understandable.
I don't think anyone here cares about Elden ring patch timing
Just wanted to share is all
Elden Ring Nightreign added two player co-op, but there is still no cross play so my dad and I still cant play it together
my DS3 playthrough was going rough to where it has now turned into a fully co-op venture with a pal, and I'm just sorta on the side throwing magic spells... it is quite a bit more manageable that way and i'm still doing something
think im gonna try and play Elden Ring again
ooo have fun! sweep's been getting into elden ring with the same co-op pal as i wound up doing DS3 with
just wandering about taking in the world, that kinda stuff is my jam
think i'm just not as much for the greater speedier combat focus in DS3, wee bit fast for my brain
THE LOATHSOME DUNGEATER
He's got so much dung to eat; how loathsome
Yes
Tree Sentinel down
this poison swamp is pissing me off
poison swamp sucks if you don't have the mobility ring and if you have low HP
the skill most daggers have, quickstep, also insanely good in poison swamps
fuck these catacombs
how are the boss weapons in DS3 ? should i save the boss souls or nah
some of them can be good
it v much depends, i think theres a really really good ring+spell+rapier
(boss weapon location spoiler) ||if you havent found the vendor for them yet youve gone past it||
playing Elden Ring and having fun
find chest and open it
teleports me to a mine with super tough enemies
mfw
oh my god i just lost so many runes
oh my goddddd
its called being a scamp
lol
i do not understand fall damage in this game
It is kind of weird, it's not linear
Basically most of the fall it doesn't do any damage, then there is the last 20% that is survivable with some damage, and past that it's an automatic kill
strange
In other souls for example, the cat ring allows you survive longer falls, in this one it doesn't
It just removes the damage in the last 20% of the fall
But anything that would have killed you without the ring, kills you with it
Clearly they planned to use fall distance to gate some paths and didn't want it to be bypassable with it
they learned from all of the dark souls shenanigans
except i think parry immunity falls still work
It does
Margit when i get you
i got a cool sword
it does bleed which seems hilariously broken
Iirc bleed was even more powerful when the game came out, but they nerfed it
I originally used a blood loss build to beat the game
margit down
GG
Bleed is very powerful but you need to land blows consistently enough that the status doesn't fall off.
Still, worth it for sure
There are also some bosses that bleed just doesn't affect
would it be weird to say that Stormveil Castle reminds me of DS1 level design
is this seriously the runback to Godrick
There's a room right before the fog with a site of grace in it
thank god
There aren't many actual runbacks in the game iirc. Most boss rooms will have a site of grace or stake of Marika right outside them
usedtoprayfortimeslikethese.jpg
TURTLE POPE ??????
*dog
sorry ofc
He's great though
Renala might be the most annoying boss ive ever fought
Bed of Chaos wasn't this bad
I would try Dark Souls again, but I'm not sure I could even finish it
It is very difficult
That's the second best character in the game
If your wondering, Blaidd is the best character imo
i dont think ive met them yet
You can actually meet him pretty early into the game
I think the merchant at the church near where the tree sentinel is tells you where to find him
Ngl, I don't remember the names of any of the merchants
Well now I'm not sure if any of them besides Kale have a name
is this the Dungeater ?
yeah, radahn kinda got nerfed into the game
this boss fucking sucks
Radahn down !!!!!
giant ants ???????
how on earth am i supposed to cross this lake without dying ?
Miyazaki literally just made a poison swamp but even deadlier
Astel has such a cool design
when do i find the aliens
finally, jar head
Windmill Village gives me Midsommar/Wicker Man vines
i'm actually not too sure where to go
Where you at?
im in Leyndell
i realized i could climb up the dragon
also holy shit i knew the Erdtree was big but when you're up close to it it kind of hit me just how big it is
uh
was Godfrey supposed to be super easy
oh i see the actual boss is ridiculously hard
im so scared to fight Malenia
should i use the seedbed curse on Dungeater ?
You can if you want to
everything about this guy is the absolute worst
guys this might be the best game ever
i adore how the map has insane embellishments on it like old medieval maps
it's just missing a bunch of sea monsters and snails
I like how you slowly learn the language of the map
Like the way the towers are drawn, or caves, etc...lets you guess what's there without actually spoiling exactly what you will find once you arrive
The exploration in ER is the best of any Open World game I've played
is there a lore reason for the other players ? is it like Dark Souls where time is all fucked up and so there's a bunch of different parallel worlds ?
I don't think there is a specific reason given this time
Well there are several tranished so it's not a break in the lore, and the Elden Ring is shattered so the world is kind of exploding, but apart from that there isn't a very pointed specific reason for the phantoms.
spoke too soon on the snails
just found a. bunch in this dungeon
giant castle in the middle of the ocean ??????????
i got the armor from the cover
did you fight her yet?
not yet
Sweep obtained Dark Souls for Switch and indeed it's been awful for productivity just being able to play it anywhere
this run through Lordran i've embraced dragonhood, flame breath and pyromancy aplenty... goddd i love this game so much
literally the only thing that would be worse is if they put DS2 on Switch, then you'd surely not hear from me for some time just completely lost in it
i did not think 2 would wind up such the favorite but genuinely i get a tad emotional just to think on it
Maybe when I finish Ghost of Tsushima I'll continue Dark Souls
The only Dark Souls game I don't own is Dark Souls 2
Dark Souls 2 is a nice one but tough to love
i finished my DS1 switch playthrough, here's probably the coolest thing that happened in the whole run (yes, it counted!)
it didn't take sweep long to start another DS1 switch playthrough
going full belmont this time around, been rolling with the whip turned divine, throwing knives & firebombs (holy water?) in the inventory... it's my two action fantasy beloveds in the one run
the most difficult fight i've had in this game
i ain't ever had the timing in me to parry Gwyn, so it was lotsa rolling waiting for the right opportunity to get in only wee bits of whip damage
by this point i had taken a break for a few days, figured hey even just getting this far is victory enough, and it was only that i wanted to show a relative who i was up against that led to the run i didn't think i had in me... god i love Dark Souls
Beating Dark Souls 2 using only dung pies.
Done on the most recent version of Dark Souls 2 SotFS.

Playing Bloodborne and I found this loser with a spear and shotgun and I could barely even hit them😭. The npc was playing the game like a shooter
margit down
just tried invading for the first time
got double teamed and died in like three seconds lmao
That's pretty common
Invading is usually more fun just as the game comes out, later on you have to accumulate a lot of experience to fill the skill/meta gap the people accumulated with the game, learn what work and what doesn't, etc, so a lot of invasions will go nowhere.
it didn't crop
whatever
not my screenshot but this part of Elden Ring cracked me up (part 2)
It's like when you try to open a door and it just says closed
Like, yeah I know, that's why i'm trying to open it😭
why can you see Torrent's but hole when he jumps
holy fuck Zweihander is insane
Shadows of Yharnam have been eradicated, it wasn't too bad for a three v one
maybe I'm just getting better at souls games
The parry timing was pretty easy to get down for them
Large swords tend to be pretty satisfying to use in every From game.
it like completely wrecked Margit and the guy at the southern tip of the map
I don't remember which weapon skills it has, but one of my favourite things is to use weapon skills to trade blows
Lemme check
Stamp upward cut, I think it's one of that works out of the box with that.
Basically if you use the weapon skills, for a brief moment you are basically immune to knockdowns or staggers
So especially if you use heavy armor, it's pretty good against some enemies to just tank an hit and hit them back in the process
You can't do it for every enemy in the game or you are gonna run out of health, but it's still good in specific situations
yeah i need to find some good heavy armor
i was thinking the armor from the shop in Roundtable but that's expensive
It's not super super important, but it's nice if you plan to trade a lot, it adds up over time
do you guys know that meme where it says "things to do in Caelid: 1. Leave" ?
that's how i'm feeling rn
Caelid slowly gets better as you figure it out, when you get there the first few times without the tools to handle the nonsense, it sucks real bad
what are some good early game armor sets ? preferably ones that make it so i can medium roll instead of fat rolling with Zweihander
My preference for early game is bandit mask/black hood depending what you found, largely because they weigh very little, look really cool, and give a ton of poison resistence which is nice to have, lots of poison in random places in the game.
For the body I go for something medium heavy, like, any of the knight sets chest if you drop them are worthwhile, if you find the Carian knight set in the Raya Lucaria academy it's good because it gives decent elemental and magical resistences.
And hand and foot whaterver I can get away with without going to fat roll.
So probably very light stuff at that point of the game

what's with the fingers on top of the divine tower of Limgrave ? i thought the Fingers in Roundtable were the only ones ?
gangster
The ||Greater Will had many envoys, it's not clear how those died, there is speculation about it but not hard confirmation.||
i see
All clips for my compilations are made by me. I carefully compiled clips that I recorded while playing Dark Souls and selected finest moments naming the most interesting event that happens in each video. That is called “Thank you dark souls” meme which is a compilation of funny moments, bugs and glitches met in Dark Souls games series. It is...
Really funny video
no but for real that first clip is what Elden Ring fall damage feels like
True
i love how fromsoft status effects are like
! POISON !
I had a lot of fun with a dual whip build on my first real playthrough
is there a lore reason why everything wants me dead
is it because the Elden Ring is shattered
this dog has hands
A good portion of the deeper lore is in item descriptions
You don't absolutely eed it to understand the story but for the deeper stuff it's there
A couple of reasons for that
It's a mix that you are considered unholy essentially, a tarnished, outside of the Grace of Gold of Queen Marika, then there is the post apocalyptic vibe after the Elden Ring was shatterted, the fact that no one can die and people are reborn endlessly everyone is just turning insane.
ah oke
so like Dark Souls then where basically everyone you fought was hollow or a monster
Yeah the idea is similar, everyone is going in a state very similar to the hollows in Dark Souls, unable to die and turning into mindless zombies acting on insticts
if i become Elden Lord will everyone become nice again
Also there is the fact that the land is at war and a lot of enemies are soldiers guarding someplace so they are gonna try to kill a random person they have no idea what is doing there, even if they weren't halfway insane
Well, it depends
The question the game never tells you is asking you, is how are you gonna fix the Elden Ring exactly, are you gonna add something to it? Maybe something that isn't supposed to be there?
The various endings rely on that question
Not always, but often enough
Actually no you are right, I think it's always
I forgot DS3 had multiple endings even before the DLC
cause i remember DS1 had two endings
and i watched a Bloodborne playthrough long ago and i remember there were at least 2 there
you had to do something with umbilical cords or something
Yeah, you need to consume at least 2 I think to fight the hidden boss
It has 3 endings, total
Saaame
With a PC you technically can, but it's through cloud and without the DLC
Which kind of sucks
yeah i wanna play it officially
The official cloud gaming service from playstation works on PC and has bloodborne, so it is official
But as I said, no DLC
that sucks
uses my mind powers to force Sony executives port Bloodborne to PC
at least Elden Ring does cosmic horror pretty well
with the frenzied flame and that one freaky dude
Yeah, there is also a lot of cosmic stuff that isn't as obvious.
Not gonna rattle it off as to not to spoil it, but some stuff you might have already guessed
im thinking of when i beat Rennala respeccing into an Intelligence build
i wanna be a battle mage
That was one of my last runs
There is some really cool stuff for int quality builds in the DLC
I don't think I ever used it in any real capacity
why is the Rennala runback so obnoxious
They had to have at least one annoying runback in the game
Considering most bosses don't even have one
Will there ever be a Dark Souls 4
i doubt it
as i understand it a lot of DS3's story is about how there probably shouldn't even be a Dark Souls 3
I didn't know that
At the very least, the conclusion of the last DS3 DLC is pretty final.
I mean canonically there have been hundreds of cycles in lordran
So they could make as many games as they want, but once you have written the ending of the saga, it gets a bit pointless to just do stuff in the middle just to do it
True
Rom is fucking stupid in Bloodborne, I hate it
It's not even cuz it's a big-ass spider, it's cuz it's annoying
Quelaag is the better spider boss
After Bloodborne, I'll either play DS1 or DS3
Every time I search up Bloodborne, one of the recommended searches is "is Bloodborne NSFW"
I'd say that's a pretty obvious yes with how violent it is
I love that you had to add the "In Bloodborne" here
DS1 is definitely harder to get into than other From Soft games, but if you have Blooborne under your belt you can definitely do it
Have to specify that I'm not talking about the mod
I beat Rom
Great job
First time I fought her, I had to summon a co-operator😭
Yeah, she can be quite annoying
Grats!
what build are you ending up with?
im doing a battle mage
so melee weapon in right hand staff in the left
im planning on using either Bastard's Stars or Wing of Astel for my main weapon
not sure about staffs yet i havent done much research into them
I think a mix is usually good
Wing of astel I believe is one of the stronger options
My second playthrough was a faith/str build and I used the swor from the TOGETHAAAAAAAAAAAAA boss
how is fighting a bear harder than literal gods
I got to Martyr Logarius in Cainhurst, he seems pretty tough
where should i go after beating Rennala ?
Uhhh. Hmm.
I think there's a fair bit more you can explore south of her. Caelid's also an option if you wanna focus on story, since you need to fight Radahn to unlock more stuff
Yeah, exploring Caelid and fighting Radahn might be a good idea to do next. You could also look for cave mines to get upgrade materials and bell bearings that let you buy upgrade materials
That place is "fun". I did get one of my whips from there though for my dual whip build
Im stuck in Bloodborne right now, Yahar'Gul is a really annoying area
Finally, I got past the stupid fucking lazer
I got to the upper cathedral ward, it's fuckin wimdy up here
how the hell do i get in the castle
"Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?!"
the one where Radahn is
Ah. Have you gotten to the bridge before it? There's one of those teleporter things. Though I forget if there's a requirement to activate it. Otherwise there should be a gate but that's the tough entrance...
yea so i got to the top of this fort and there was a teleporter on the top and it teleported me to the front of the castle but the gate was closed
"activate the Radahn Festival by reaching the Altus Plateau (via the Grand Lift of Dectus) or progressing Ranni's questline. "
oh ok
I did admittedly forget that detail
but yes, Altus is a good goal too
For some reason I thought you had to beat Radahn to get to the altus plateau
I forgot to mention this, but I got an umbilical cord in Bloodborne and I'm not sure what to do with it

Some pointless info about character creation in Elden Ring! Also, it's the first part in a series where I do a video on every part of the game. This video's about character customisation but also covers things like keepsakes and origins (which the game sometimes calls "Character Bases" for some reason). Next video will be starting the actual gam...
Pretty interesting video with some useless facts

I want to play Elden Ring on my pc, but don't have it😔
I wish I could respec in bloodborne. Im stuck with a strength build now, and I'm not sure how much I like it
I guess I'll just do that one farm to level up a bunch maybe
I beat Martyr Logarius
I want to buy Elden Ring Nightreign, but I don't know who I'd play it with😔
I do not understand why they didn't make it cross-platform
My dad and I could play it, if he bought it on ps5 and ps4, but that'd mean I'd have to play on ps4
Fuck Micolash, I hate him
He is very memeable on, so I don't hate him, but his fight is aids
Mergo's Wet Nurse down
Congrats
Im going to start a new Dark Souls playthrough next
I think I'm going to do strength pyromancer for DS1
hey that's what i did when i played
I need two more levels to be able to use the Zweihander
I've been using the morning star
DS1 as a whole is way more slow paced than later Fromsoft soulslikes
it kind of turned me off from the game for a long while but once i got the hang of it it was good
Yeah, it is pretty slow
Currently I'm trying to figure out how to get to the bell gargoyles
I can't remember how

I wish I had more than 0 poise
Found where to go, immediately died

My sword is +1 now

I got really heavy steel armor from the big guy with the huge shield

I also got the fire keeper soul
OK, I can wear the armor if i dont equip a shield or headgear and gloves
I almost beat the bell gargoyles first try
I still need to get used to the slower combat
I still cannot get past the stupid bell gargoyles

Are you going in human and summoning help? Solaire is always right there and there's often human help too
there are a handful of spots where there's always coop help in the form of one of the NPCs, and that's one of them.
I knew that, i just didn't know that one was there
I beat the bell gargoyles
I just found out that Blaidd's name is Welsh for wolf, so he's literally named Wolf, The Half-Wolf
😭
