I'm also waiting on some of the things they mentioned in their prior update before this patch. Fucking CC bullshit again, but having the Kit will hopefully help with some of the things people wanted/what hasn't been officially fixed yet.

That's so fucked, make the in-game storage constrained, then sell infinite space? what is this, a F2P game? T_T

#

Why on earth did I buy this game.

I suppose? F76 is always online though, and multiplayer live service at that. It's a different kettle of fish compared to a Singleplayer offline title.

SeeleNoted Creations is in Skyrim and largely ignored there too. Now that the kit is out things will slowly develop and start showing up on Nexus.

#

And I believe Creations mods aren't allowed to use things like script extenders and frameworks, those were key components of a lot of major Skyrim mods.

I hate the wheels

I can see why somebody would hate the wheels. I take no issue with the design, personally; I think it looks just about the way it should.

I haven't tried the vehicle myself yet, but the trailer seems to suggest that it's not a massive nightmare to drive, so that's good. I was concerned that a Bethesda-developed drivable vehicle would handle similarly to the Mako from Mass Effect 1, so I'm glad we... didn't get that.

Oh, and it's good to know that we are getting our Divine Space Snake™ DLC on 30 September. Everybody prepare thy Va'Ruun Inflictors.

Gave the vehicle a whirl.

It is pretty airy and it will turn easily. W/S for forwards/backwards, but you need to use the mouse or joystick to angle where you want it to go.

Just wish the boost was a little longer and the laser gun might as well be a pea shooter. Zooming in even costs burst to use.

Also, you need to buy the vehicle from any ship tech for 25k credits. You can customize it in three spots with colors. Also, it is available whenever you land your ship and it will cause damage to people you run it over with (including folks in cities).

It's apparently got mixed reviews on Steam.

sullen pike
#

Eh that doesn't mean much to me since so many people say Starfield is bad but I really enjoy it

thorn sun
#

The main criticisms are:

  • the ludicrous price (which I can understand, $30 US, or $40 CAD, for an expansion that's apparently smaller than anything Skyrim put out is not great)
  • bad writing
  • very little additional content
  • no upgrades
  • no new weapons
  • no new ship parts

Give Todd your money.

  • Still no weapon skin customization.
  • Still no use for low-speed/stealth ship options

One reviewer completed it in 4, so I guess it depends on how you play.

#

And even 10 hours is nowhere near enough time to excuse the cost.

#

That's $3 an hour

#

An expansion that size 10 years ago would've cost $15.

hybrid folio
#

I read it's about 3 to 5 hours for the main story, 10 hours if you do all the side stuff.
If you like Starfield you may like the DLC.
If you didn't like the game, this DLC won't make you enjoy it.

#

30$ is pretty expensive too, I kind of think of those big expansions they used to do for that price.

wicked escarp
#

IIRC, they stated it would be Far Harbor in length, but they haven't made a DLC like that since then.

I'm not sure what the disconnect is and I can almost assume it is a factor of things, but ES6 and FO5 might not be a thing at the rate it is going.

I decided to finally beat Starfield this weekend. I tried out the new vehicle too and it's awesome. Drives just like the Warthog from Halo.
Vague Spoilers ||I won't actually be doing a new game plus playthrough. I'll reload a save instead, I want to play through the tracker alliance missions and a few other lines I never finished. I'm usually a one and done kind of player anyway.||

does anyone know how the new X-Tech stuff is going to work for the free update coming soon?

#

I figure it'll be a good time to start a new save

#

but I don't actually know what's up with this part of the update

Pulling from their annoucement:

X-Tech: X-Tech is one of the most exciting new additions in Free Lanes. This new resource will let you customize all of your weapons, gear, and even your ships even further. This update will be huge for players who really want that super deep customization in their gear. You’ll come across X-Tech through combat and exploration – on bosses and in chests and ship wreckage – and trust us when we say you’ll be hording it like credits.

Customize Weapon Effects: We've updated the way you upgrade your weapons to allow you to use X-Tech to re-roll your legendary effects until you get the one you want. You’ll get 5 rerolls that you spend X-Tech and credits on, but don’t worry. If you don’t get the one you want, after those 5 re-rolls, the full list will open up and you can pick the modifier you’re looking for.

Tier 4 Legendary Effects: Free Lanes adds a new legendary rank for your weapons, Helmets, Packs and Suits. Once you have a rank three legendary item, you can apply a new rank four effect for credits and X-Tech. You don’t have to roll for these. You can just pick the modifier you want. Some weapons and gear even become “Exotic” when you reach max upgrades. Some of the new Tier 4 legendary effects include:
Saboteur: Damaging robots has a chance to instantly kill them. Robots explode on death. (This will definitely come in handy for Terran Armada.)
Reckless: Ranged only. Magazine size is reduced to 1; damage is increased by 500%; health is reduced by 50%. (We’re looking at you, snipers.)
Enigmatic: Suit only. Holograms of yourself appear while in combat, confusing enemies.

New Quality Tiers: Two new quality tiers above Advanced have been added. You can now build out your gear to Superior and Exceptional tiers.

Ship Optimization Terminal: A Ship Optimization Terminal has been added and can be dropped directly into your ship (and yes, you can poke through it and make changes while you’re in Cruise Mode). From this terminal you can use X-Tech to upgrade different systems like shield strength, weapons, engines, grav drive and more.

I think I'll have to grab Starfield. I last played it when I had GamePass a few years ago and haven't touched it since I got bored with it and ditched GamePass

#

From what I'm hearing it has had quite the glowup from its opening months

Wait for a sale IMO.
