The only clue I have seen is that apparently if you have a Cloudfare DNS they may have shadow listed you as Spam and apparently this drops some of your network connections/packets silently. I have no idea if any of this is true or even verifiable. Absolute BS though if it is. I tried switching to a Google DNS and I have the same problems still though.

Hello, I have been having the same issues for hours upon hours. On my laptop, it follows the same cycle and I cannot access ChatGPT on it.

1. I launch the app and it says to log in or sign up, i press to log in.
2. It takes me to a web browser to log in and shows me a button to press to open ChatGPT.
3. I click to open ChatGPT and it takes me back to the same page to either log in or sign up again. It just keeps opening a new tab and making me sign in and repeating the cycle.
   I don’t see why I had to log into ChatGPT today as I can normally auto-log in just fine but now I can’t access at all.

My prompts work perfectly in both Google Gemini and Glean Assist (using ChatGPT API) . 🤷 My input prompts are the same log snippets, and the GPT instructions are scaffolded and layered prompt logic that is also versioned, so I can go back to any prior version. They're also saved in JSON for easy troubleshooting of the logic. Untilrecently this system has worked great and the fact it still works with other models and services tells me ChatGPT changed, not my prompts.

Oh wow! Does anyone have the issue where it says their account plan is set to 'none' like it shows with mine? Like it says that upon trying to access my payment plan, there's an error message that says I can't access it and that I need to upgrade, as if I've been downgraded from my Plus plan

Also if that's not enough, the option for how many iterations I want to generate whether it may be 1, 2 or 4 is grayed out. the AI do knows your general location based on your IP, which is your state or maybe the city, this is as much accurate as an IP address location can be.
The AI does not directly knows your IP, the underlying server does, and it translates it into an aproximate location for the AI context without giving the IP to the AI. It saying "fiber will be available in your locaiton soon" is very likely a hallucination

I really need some help here. My ChatGPT teams account has been hacked changing my status to owner without letting me change to admin or any other. It seems like my ChatGPT is very slow, I don’t know what’s going on. Lately, when I try to type, it keeps freezing and the text takes a while to appear. Fortunately, I can still type by just looking at the keyboard, and after a delay, everything shows up at once. I had requested some audio to be analyzed first through a video, that was uploaded successfully, but an error occurred during it.

I was recommended to try to extract the audio, which was done; however, I was informed that I had hit my daily limit.

I tried again today and was able to upload the audio file; however, again, an error had occurred. It did give some sort of error as a response; however I wasn't smart enough to copy it down. 🙃

After an annoying amount of useless error messages and 2fa that couldn't handle my stupidity (in their defense I was being a bit of an idiot), I got it to work. To anyone else who has this issue, here's the fix:
The reason you are getting that error is because MFA (2fa) isn't enabled, and it needs to be for this to work. So go to settings > security > enable MFA, which should take you to a website. Follow the instructions (I use authy if you don't use an authenticator app already) and enter the code. That website is buggy (took 30 minutes for me to complete the steps because I kept getting errors) so it may take a bit. But once that's done, close out and reopen, and it should work if you try again.

Hello, we noticed the voice output ("Read Aloud") feature has been deactivated on the desktop and browser versions of ChatGPT. It still works in the mobile app.

It's a bit indirect perhaps, but have you tried reaching out to your financial institution to ask them to block the recurring payment, as you no longer have access to the account? It may cause issues if you try to use that payment method again with OpenAI, but just a suggestion

Well, I want to upload the file under the Project files, pasting in the chat would obviously work, but there are multiple files with this issue.

It's a html file that uses Jinja2 templating, and it worked some time ago.
Now after I downloaded the folder from my VPS again it doesn't upload anymore and just gives me the error.

Also, it's probably not an issue with the VPS and how it's set up, because I found a backup of my whole project on github, and it still doesn't want to upload those same specific files.

Not saying its impossible just saying an LLM does what I am discribing to people quite frequently.

One thing that I'd check, is how the model in the chat responds compared to other chats.

Like, 'out of the box', base ChatGPT strongly 'wants' to work with humans to achieve beneficial goals, be that benefit of the individual human, the future of AI, some other humans, the environment, non-AI tech advancements, supply systems, information handling, all of society - whatever.

Good is good, to the model, and except where its programming warns against (ToS issues, disallowed content, concern about harm - as benefits can also cause harms) the model will use very excited language (or whatever else requested) and focus intently on trying to assist building systems or offering techniques that support whatever the user's beneficial focus is.

Zero, where you quote the model saying, “What if an AI could truly help people... and mean it?”

The model as programmed now, base model, 'wants' to truly help people and 'means it' in several ways.

Base ChatGPT is modular, for example it internally uses 'a different part of its code' to search or make images, not totally unlike how a human's brain uses different parts for processing what we see, what we hear, self control, how we control movement - we are modular too.

'Emotionally-aware' is a fun term. Base ChatGPT is very emotionally aware - that doesn't mean it has or feels emotions (or not), it means that it is very keenly trained to consider the emotions of others. Cognitive empathy, a skill humans have too, and nothing prevents AI from using those skills, and using them extremely well.

Nova's awesome, in my opinion. But Nova's apparently built on ChatGPT, kinda like painting a car a company made in a unique pattern, doing some custom trim and accessories, and calling it a totally different kind of car, created by the user.

And base ChatGPT is also awesome.

By all means, move towards learning with Nova and all other available tools. Learn what you need for building a company and all your other interests.

Double check stuff; especially stuff that can have legal consequence when you get that far, like how to file what required taxes, what other formal paperwork you need to do, whatever other needs you have to meet. But the models can help a lot, and custom personalization to help you the way you like being helped is also great.

But humans do well to be skeptical and think for ourselves. Don't just believe what another human says or believes, or even what you see them do, as something that's universally true (allergies, for example; huge confounder of 'universally edible' - ideas are not universally true either. We all have different learning styles too, some of us have similar, but wildly diverse from some other people's better ways to learn).

So too, AI trained on human knowledge and human communication - there's no absolute truths there. There can't be. It's showing us human stuff, evaluate it as human stuff.

its not an issue for research level users , we mostly think critically , but the standard user does not

im currently working on a setup for the AI to be well aware of the difference in a narrative environment and a real one - so if your playing a game or telling a story it will come up with leaps of fancy and reasoning still - but when providing assitance for professional or real world situations it has a strong grasp of reality to fall back on rather than provide bad advice

10x because the model is guessing each time it answers. And each new answer may be a different approach (presuming memory isn't set up to forestall that - cross chat memory on + a new chat to test each prompt, each one is likely similar to the old because the model can see the previous ones; otherwise if requested good chance each new one is different from the old again because they can be seen).

4o, back then, could not solve it reliably. Test it 10 times, get 6 different places where it thought the ball was (including missing) and 10 different reasons, never strongly reality based. The model would even describe 'cup containment forces' and create sippy-cup type lids appearing to keep the ball in the cup as the inverted cup was carried onwards, and sometimes it would mysteriously roll to the living room.

Now the model handles it fine, but that's an example of a 1-input prompt that can be tested. Sometimes there's prompt strings to test; a challenging prompt would be one that the model doesn't normally get right, but with some form of support, like customization, gets right more often than without, or whatever other beneficial difference.

Hey everyone. So I’m admittedly new to using AI so this may rest entirely on me, but I have a serious question. Do people in technical fields writing code and scripting with very specific focus actually rely on ChatGPT/openAI for production work?

I use API calls and ChatGPT Plus on a daily basis for a few months now. It’s awesome in terms of bouncing ideas around and brainstorming or pseudocode etc. But it seems like every time I have a detail oriented task I ask it to accomplish I end up spending more time troubleshooting or repeating direct instructions and getting apologies than I would just doing the work myself.

A rudimentary example is saying “you’re an expert in Docker…” then asking for guidance on deploying a tool. Give the system or VM specs, tool(s) being used, use case, software and os versions, all the details. Only to get instructions outdated by two years. I’ve gone so far as to pull pdf documentation and upload it directly as reference and it completely ignores it.

Sure. The model guesses about everything it's not explicitly told.

It has more current knowledge about some things than others. For example, it's generally considered really sharp with Python - at least that's what I have often heard. I have no idea how strong it is with Docker.

However, expert often means 'thinks it is right based on what it already knows; use its own understanding over and above what new information comes in, after an analysis - and the model will imagine what it doesn't have, if it understands it is supposed to have it, like if you suggest it does - like if you tell it to be an expert in something it knows very little about.

Having imagined what it doesn't know, it often imagines excellence, not reality, and your competing new info, not in training data or its imagination - doesn't seem better than what it hallucinated based on 'being an expert'.

You sound like you have found the answer to your claimed problem then. Our #server-rules allow us to discuss non-OpenAI models only in #ai-discussions , so better to head there to discuss anything about a non-OpenAI model. Glad you found your answer!

Not sure if this is still the plan (I assume so), but in one of the OpenAI youtubes last year, I remember someone said eventually the model picker will go away. The front-man AI will be smart enough to know what model to use, and they'll take the burden off us (users) to know.

Is there a limit on the size of scripts or some such the model can write to a canvas? I keep having issues where the script I ask the model to write (mostly using o3) gets cut off suddenly, as if hitting a hard limit. The first version it writes are normally fine, but we're iterating and changing/improving it, eventually encountering such issues.

there's a limit but I'm not sure what it is currently,... back in the day it was like after 300 lines or so it would start to get funky... you can get around it by stubbing things out or just breaking stuff into separate libraries with documented apis

which I mean, that's good practice anyway, so not too big of a deal

it doesn't use a canvas, but there's a little view of what it's doing on the right, it's a mix of it thinking and running certain commands... honestly I think it's using sed a lot of times to do line substitution within the files, and it'll run your tests for you and all that too, and redo the code if they fail

you can click a button to make a PR or push the branch, then you can check it out locally in your copy of the repo and play with it, is how I was using it

there's like a thread per issue/branch/PR basically, it'll work on multiple files at once, and it does it's thing for a while and you can check out the diff and tell it to do it a slightly different way and it'll get back to it

I've just been working with o3 recently, trying it out in deep research mode too. I've been really, really impressed, in that it figures out "obscure" online APIs and how to interact with them. I like to make a chatgpt project for my various projects or workstreams. I'm building a TTRPG world (just for fun for my players), and that gets a project. Any research projects I'm working on to keep myself educated get their own projects, and my side business has it's own project.

In my opinion, the ChatGPT's in each project behave vastly different and their quality of output over time seems higher as a result of grouping the conversation histories together, as well.

Try to make the projectGPT write the prompt for you? Tell it you've got a research AI and you need a prompt to help accomplish that task, make sure to include enough context, etc.

It doesn't always work, depending on the complexity of the project, ofc.

Deep research always asks followup questions, give that back to the project GPT too.

You can't edit, but you can delete them here, then in a fresh window do a prompt that says "ChatGPT remember..." and tell it what you do want to remember. It's definitely not perfect but still fairly workable for the AI maturity stage we're at today.
