Hey guys, I have a problem and that is when I upload a PDF on my chatgpt plus account it brings up an error saying "Unable to upload", but when I tried other accounts that doesn't have chatgpt plus and uploaded that same PDF with GPT4o, it uploaded. Is there like any fix for this issue? Documents don't want to be uploaded on my chatgpt plus account since yesterday. If anyone knows how to fix this issue, then it would be greatly appreciated

Hello all, I'm training my GPT and after this 4o update, the preview panel alignment is off. The output comes on the side, and it is vertical and is unreadable. Hi folks, why the 4o version kees repeating it self over and over again?
Today it's quite frustrating. I'm working on a code and I say something like:"Update just this line of code" and he starts uodating the whole code. Or he says:"let's ensure this code is working and gives me the new code". I update the code and say:"I ensured it's working, I pasted your code to my code and it's working. Hey! When you go to the Play Store, then tap your profile pic in the top-right, then "Payments & subscriptions", then "Subscriptions" -- is the ChatGPT Plus subscription listed there? If so, and if you just recently subscribed like you mentioned, I think if you just hang tight for a bit, the subscription will go live on your account. There have been some errors reported on status.openai.com in the last hour or so -- total guess, but perhaps that's causing some sync delay with new Play Store subscriptions and OpenAI itself. Also in general, I've read other users in the past report a minor delay like this when subscribing via the iOS/Android app!

Anyone have any tips for fixing this pdf upload issue I’ve been having for several days now?

All other file types seem to upload successfully (IMG, JPEG, spreadsheets, even MP3) and I was able to upload pdf files the first day that I bought premium. But then it suddenly stopped working, giving me this error 5 message.

I’ve checked all the common issues with the file’s sharing/locked, file size, app is up-to-date, clearing browser cache/cookies/history. I’ve tried many different pdfs, uploading from different sources (Files, Finder, directly from chrome download) and on different devices (iPhone, MacBook, windows PC) and nothing is working still. (I’m also able to upload the same files to other AI such as perplexity). I bought premium about 3-4 days ago and it’s still active.

Hey! That can happen sometimes when the content window of the model fills up. On a ChatGPT Free account, the context window is 8K tokens, and it's 32K on Plus. This means that when you reach the context window token count, with every request, it's sending the most recent 32K tokens (on Plus) to the model to process -- basically maxing it out with every request, which can be slower than sending below the context limit.

Since this is how the model remembers (by having tokens in its context window), there's no way to import the context of a previous chat into a new chat. There are some things you can try, like the memory feature and custom instructions, to keep some context permanent, but it's not the same as continuing a previous conversation.

To add a bit more info, in 2022 I signed up for API access using my gmail and a password. In 2023, I signed up for plus using Google SSO with the same gmail address.

ChatGPT is free to use, and Free tier users now have limited access to GPTs in our GPT store, as capacity permits. GPT-4o rate limits for free users are shared between GPTs and ChatGPT.
I think GPT creation will still be limited to Plus and above.

In the Announcements, OpenAI recently said that "We're opening up access to our new flagship model, GPT-4o, and features like browse, data analysis, and memory to everyone for free (with limits). "

Since then I got GPT 4o. I have the option to use Temporary Chat. But when I ask 4o to remember things, it doesn't appear to be capable of it, and always tells me it can't do that, even when instructed freshly. How can I use Memory? (I don't see Memory in any settings either).

This is what it says, some variation every time. "In this specific conversation, I don't have memory of past interactions with you or any personal data from previous chats. Each session is independent, so I won't remember any details from our previous conversations unless you mention them again."

Is anyone else experiencing the absolutely horrendous support from OpenAI? I guess I'm not alone. A quick search reveals numerous complaints about unresolved issues and lack of response. I have a simple issue: one of my GPT's were banned for no apparent reason, and I can't appeal because the option doesn't exist in my interface. I reported this over a month ago, and the last response I received was on May 1 from "Ferdie":

Since then, no one has contacted me. I have now lost access to all of my GPTs. It's absolutely crazy to me that this is how OpenAI treats its users, especially paying customers. I even upgraded to the Teams plan, hoping for better support. I'm now hoping Google or Meta will create a similar community where we can build different models and inspire each other.

Loosing access to -all- of your GPTs sounds surprising. There's specific rules that apply to GPTs, https://openai.com/policies/usage-policies/

And if you were accidentally breaking some, that might explain it? If so, glad you don't have account suspended issues too.

Anyway, if you have access to the voice conversation feature on the app on your phone (headphones icon), that mode seems to require memory, so it will be enabled there at least. (but it is very invonvenient to manage the memories in that mode)

Hello, I'm getting back into using Chat GPT and actually decided to jump right in and pay for it to try the best model. I am confused by this response. Is it asking me to "thumbs down" the response? Or the warning? Because I like the responses it is giving me and would rather tell it "no, nothing is inappropriate with the response, please stop warning me". Am I overthinking this? Hey! The buttons in the bottom-left appear under all responses from ChatGPT, regardless of seeing this content warning. As for the warning itself: that can appear if something you submit as input or something you receive as output violate the OpenAI usage policies, which are linked in that screenshot you provide. Another link that's helpful for understanding what is/isn't allowed on OpenAI's services is this: https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/moderation
It lists some general categories that are disallowed, and can cause a flag.

Also: false flags do happen sometimes! So it may be that. In which case, the thumbs down, as you've noticed, seems to be the current thing OpenAI wants us to do to say "There's nothing wrong with this."

Free doesn't have a set usage rate -- it changes regularly based on demand. Plus' default rate is 80/3hrs but that can be lowered at times, also based on demand, but it's much higher availability than on Free.

This whole look is what I was trying to achieve in the first place. Originally my prompt was to take place in a night club but I got the content violation message. So I stripped it down to the 3 word prompt to see what was causing the issue. It’ll generate a selfie in a nightclub no problem. But for whatever reason when I switched the camera selection to a disposable Polaroid that was a no-no. And with your advice I was able to generate a selfie but as soon as I had the stipulation for night/low light and with a camera flash it gets weird on me.

ChatGPT even rewrote it for me to this and it still violates content policy: “A photograph taken with a disposable camera at night with the flash on, capturing a casual selfie of friends. They are smiling with candid expressions. The background is a dimly lit park or street with a few distant lights visible. Hey! This kind of thing happens because LLMs (like GPT) aren't general "do-ers". LLMs are really only predicting text, which means they don't have the ability to obey exact/mathematical rulesets like the rules of chess. To play chess on ChatGPT, you'd need the LLM to communicate with an external service/program that's capable of following the rules of chess exactly. I bet there's a GPT or two that connects to some chess engine and uses ChatGPT as a frontend!

Hey! LLMs in particular process input based on their training. Training an LLM is basically like feeding the model some text, and asking it to predict what will come next. When it gets it right, it "remembers" that info. Hey, if you have plus and know a little bit of coding you can make a gpt that takes in game image inputs and outputs some function to play that move and display the image output. Do this back amd forth with the user for an entire game, and there is a low likelihood it hallucinates. Also try using a new prompting technique called VoT to increase spacial reasoning.

Hey Guys, I have a very important question (apologies if this isn't the server to ask, but kind of need an answer urgently 🙂):

I'm the owner of a leading copywriting agency, and am in the process of creating an Ai powered copywriting software - with open AI's API for GPT 4 working in the backend to produce top tier copy for stuff like ads, linkedin posts, articles and email outreach copy.

I need to ask the following questions:

1. Are the outputs that you get on playground mode the same as the outputs we'll get through API, using our API key within the app? I.e. the quality of outputs will remain the same, correct?

2. For the inputs I have created, the outputs have always been great. Since yesterday, though, I've found gpt's outputs to be very poor in quality compared to before. Anyone else experiencing this?
