that would be the API, where you don't use it on the ChatGPT website but rather have your system talk to OpenAI's servers in any way you want

on the matter of "making sure our data doesn't get uploaded to the cloud", OpenAI does not use data that comes thrugh the API to further train their models, so, there is no possibility of it being incorporated on the AI model

in fact, that could be the case that you would actually want a model fine tunned with your data, that is a feature that will very likely be available soon

If by rl you mean reinforcement learning, then according to their papers, it is used as well. Specifically, reinforced learning with human feedback (rlhf). As for what it's trained with, they don't disclose it.

Let's say, you can't reasonably run a 40B that well on a computer like that and it would take hours even if you make swap memory.

And yeah, Open Assistant is an option to explore and for making runnable model on your computer, I would suggest 7B.

I would say it's a little bit inferior to GPT 3.5, but it does work on 7B and 40B is definitely better than GPT 3.5, but you need serious hardware to run it.

One of the biggest benefit of those LLM is that they aren't lobotomized or restricted, so you could fine-tune them for whatever purposes such as Story Based Conversationalist Dialogue.

Some cloud services offer A100 for rental for like $0.75 an hour or so, so you could rent it and run it there for a day or so.

Hello Team, I'm hoping someone can help me better understand ChatGPT and how it works with regards to a paid subscription (Plus) account. I am a paid subscriber of ChatGPT Plus (monthly). I tried to login on July 10th 2023 in the morning EST and repeatedly could not login. I thought with a Plus account I would not be subject to ChatGPT being overloaded? I also tried using the playground and logged in with my same account I use for ChatGPT but on Playground I was met with an error saying I have no more credits left?
