It looks like you may have attempted to log in with an incorrect password too many times. If I had to guess, maybe you'll have to wait some time to try again, or maybe to try the "Forgot password?" process. It's also possible that they've sent you an email saying your account is blocked due to too many attempts, and maybe there's steps in there to getting it unblocked.

What I'm trying to say is that the difference between prices on the chat app and the API are huge.

Hello! This is so strange.. one ONE of my chat windows on ChatGPT (Plus subscription, using the Plugins Model with NO Plugins Enabled, developer access enabled) is operating on a 32k Max token limit..
I'm POSITIVE of this.. I pasted our entire conversation into OpenAI's Tokenizer tool and it's definitely nearing almost 32,000 tokens.

When I ask ChatGPT to quote back specific things I said from near the start of the conversation, it's able to do so perfectly. I tested it multiple times in various ways -- it definitely can remember past messages between it and I within that chat window that were over 20,000 tokens ago.

I can't get this 32k token capacity to be replicated on ANY other ChatGPT window I open under any Plugins Model I try to open up.. they are are operating on the 8097 token limit

I've also inspected the website elements using Safari Dev Tools, and I cannot find ANY reference to having access to any model other than the "GPT-4-Plugins" model which the source code indicates should be running on an 8097 Max token limit.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea what's going on?

Hey everyone. When I call the gpt-3.5-turbo-16k as well as gpt-4 API in my Juyter notebook cells, I'm happy with the output. However, for the same prompt I am using, when I put it in a method and call that method for some reason the output is not what I expected (same prompt everything. Only difference is that I am calling it in a method instead of my Jupyter notebook cell).

Has anyone come across such an issue?

I copied and pasted the exact prompt string. Maybe the indents and stuff might be causing the API to converge to different values. I am really confused

Yeah am using same everything. It's just an internal method I wrote that takes the output of my prompt and puts the results in a data structure.

One thing that could be different is that in vscode ipython notebook, the prompt text matches the same indentation as the variable name but in my method (which is part of a class), I added indentations in each line. Not sure if that may cause some issue.

I also got an issue with the API returning odd outputs if I put my prompt in a text file and load that text file in. But I stopped doing that.

I am having a really weird problem where ChatGPT (Premium) works on my phone and works on my laptop whilst I am in the office but does not work on my laptop whilst I am at home (still works on the phone). I have tried deleting cookies, using other browsers, connecting through my phone etc but nothing seems to work. Very frustrating considering I am paying too.

So in a typical chat with the chat endpoint, a single request/response because two request/responses when sent back to the enpoint as a followup question, this means the second interaction in the same "session" is more expensive as its used up more of the context window (the max tokens per request/response). What I'm trying to figure out is how many such request/responses are typical before the user is happy with the answer and stops the session.

Well, for some reason the system has flagged you as a potential bot. As for why, only open ai can tell. Maybe you're dispatching messages in quick succession, using some third party extensions or your subnet is just marked as suspicious(for example of using a VPN).🤷‍♂️

I have tried all troubleshooting methods but none seems to work. I have cleared my browser cache, logged out and logged in, tried accessing through VPN, logged in through different browsers and no trick seems to work on both mobile and desktop. Maybe I'm thinking my IP address has been shadow banned or blacklisted, and if that is the case, I don't know how that is fair because my chat history has been clean from my point of view. I really need to get back to using GPT-4 since I'm paying for it and I have loads of work that have stalled for the past two days. How do I escalate this to the technical team? How do I resolve this issue?

I'm having some trouble renewing my GPT subscription. I am in the U.S.
I was subscribed in March & April, then my card expired. I didn't even realize it at the time, but now I'm trying to get the subscription going again and every card I've tried gets declined.
The card(s) work fine in other places (grocery store, ebay, whatever) but I can't even add them to my OpenAI "payment methods" list, they get delinced there too.
I opened a chat thread on https://help.openai.com/en/ on the 20th, but no one has replied.
Anyone have any ideas what I should do?

i think you can only wait for a response, it may take weeks. i've seen others with sub getting canceled due expired card or for other reason saying the same that no card is accepted so its possible openai flags the account

As that message says, knowledge cutoff for GPT-4 is Sep 2021, before GPT-4 was released, so it isn't aware of its own existence. This is a common hallucination. You're using GPT-4 when you select that model.

I wonder if the way people phrase this matters. For instance, you mention GPT-4 specifically and don't ask it if it's one or the other, or open-endedly so that it can respond freely. Perhaps when asking in one of the two latter ways, it can sometimes refer to its training data with "higher priority" than that bit of info as it appears in its system prompt. It might be confusing for it to have a system prompt include a detail that doesn't exist in its training data.
