Gpt 4 was much better 3 months ago than it is now (imo). It isn't about claude3 being better. I think claude 3 gave them the first competitor who could do what they did and better. Maybe it is just me but recently a lot of my prompt end up in a 30-60 seconds queue that I hope get run. I prompt something and most times it is loading??? I paid for it. It isn't acceptable. Meanwhile claude I get it right away.

It depends on the user. I have learned a lot about how to prompt it. I have gotten the chatgot to write three consecutive messages and dalle3 to generate 10 images. My prompting is like “generate x images/messages, one after the other, without any extra prompting from me”.

DALLE is down, it responds but refuses to generate images, saying the server load is too heavy and that there's rate limits in place. I respond that the rate limits are my 40 messages per 3 hours and that it's wasting my rate limit by responding in that matter. It gives me a very unhelpful response.

Like yes, I understand what it's telling me, but it shouldn't count against my rate limit if it's not able to complete the request.

In other words, the limit is small enough without the system double dipping.

In addition to our usual GPT-4 message rate limit, there's also a normal hourly and daily image gen limit.

And when stuff's weird, wrong, or heavy use for OpenAI, our usual limits can drop suddenly and sharply.

I noticed image rate limits too, I can only make a few images and then have to wait, far fewer than usual.

They also had some issues with the system today, based on status, the two could be connected.

It shouldn't last long though! Sorry you're affected too

I'm still having trouble with chatGPT getting hung up on guidelines. I asked a series of questions of it yesterday, and some clarifications, and when I come back to the conversation today and ask for a summary of what was said, I get this:

I'd say explore a mix of all the resources you are comfortable with! I'm working on learning programming and am using a mix of ChatGPT (mostly 3.5), sometimes youtube videos and forums, and occasionally advice from people I talk to who know coding.

Between those two models, maybe try asking both some of your questions, and see if one is more helpful than the other, or if there's areas one is better than the other at.
