Ah, so basically, funnily enough the Android app being a piece of dogcrap as usual is what broke my chat for me, however, when I make a new chat, and I have more than 2 plugins loaded at once with GPT plugins, then send a message in that chat, it INSTANTLY breaks it like that.

I have no clue how tf that makes any sense or why it would do that, but if your issue is identical to mine, try if you can replicate it.

the the new gpt4 turbo can't really do complicated math (linear algebra), when I tested it with a custom gpt sriped of the data analysis feature.

It's not just GPT-4, it's all LLMs that can't do math. Not without other tools at its disposal like ADA, or Wolfram in plugins. Language models are simply not equipped to do math--people (myself included at first) feel like it's super smart robot which makes people think "Robots can use calculators (or are calculators), right?" but that's just not how LLMs work. They can only predict text

Try more testing on classic. Give it a few multiplication problems of three digit numbers, like 174 x 274. It will fail most of the time

Good afternoon! I'm having an issue trying to train a GPT of my own. The GPT is created with the initial data I gave it to train on, but every time I go to add new training material to it, I get an "error saving draft" message and cannot update the GPT. I've tried different files, and it doesn't seem to matter which one I upload, it just will not save once I attach a new file.

I've been working around it by uploading the data and then doing what I need to do in the "preview" pane, but that's really not ideal as it nukes the knowledge / doesn't save the preview conversation as context each time I have to log out and in.

Yeah it can do some stuff that comes up in language sometimes! Like simple addition or multiplication. But still only sometimes, not reliably. It didn't learn skills per se, it just learned language probability. So it can "do math" insofar as math resembles language, which is to say, only a little bit

I've found that sometimes asking the "Create" GPT to add the file for you works more often than the regular file upload

Hey guys, I am new to this whole AI/ChatGPT thing and I've used it here and there, but I am in a bit of urgency when it comes to my school work. I've had pro since last month and I was wondering what is the best way to summarize the entire book properly? I get questions in multiple choices for my power engineering stuff and those books are kind of hard to read for a layman with no technical background.

So now we have 4 Turbo and PDF Plug Ins. Because of my ADHD? I got speechify to read these things to me while I learn, so how can I make the books much better and digestible to read while having context and cut out the unnecessary fat? Can I do this with or without plug ins?

The books are basically called units, which have chapters and each chapters has objectives. Each chapter can range from 30-60 pages. So we can say the books are around 250-300 pages. There are 12 books and I know we can add 10 at a time. So, how can I do this? I have a test coming up next week, but that's not to say I am looking to rushed path. Although the idea of this is that I don't want to go through the 12 books for the third time now for the sake of reviewing. What are the best possible prompts to use? Give me everything at your knowledge and disposal.

Not creation yet, only use. Also no "Discovery" page so you have to use a GPT once on web for it to populate in your sidebar. There is a mobile UI for builder though at chat.openai.com/gpts/editor though--instead of the split pane of desktop, "Preview" becomes a third top toggle. I bet it comes to app soon 👍

Sure. I value my OAI account highly. I choose to try to know what OAI considers appropriate behavior, and follow it to the letter, as best as I can understand.

I would feel like I lost something I really value, personally, if my account was suspended. Even if it gets resolved, that takes a while. And I know and use other AI. I like some of the others. I still prize ChatGPT.

So, for me, if I consider doing something which is against TOS or in disallowed content, I also think about the potential consequences as well as my desire and reasons for anything against what OAI has requested of the people who use the services.

I keep finding myself eagerly not breaking TOS or going into disallowed content, again and again, so glad of my account access. Plus, though here's not the place to discuss it, there are other AI providers with their own rules.

A really crude concept would be : The service taker has some form of file analyzer which in turn allows openAI to "scan" users. and give alerts to a company

But running into this issue with code interpreter where it truncates the dataset with comments. Is there any way to prompt it and overcome this issue. If you saw "Analyzing", then that could be the problem. When it's using ADA (Code Interpreter) to read file, it always read the starting of it to get "some insights".

Turns out it wasn't working because I was connected to a VPN. This made the Captcha stuck in a loop, asking over and over to verify myself as human. The VPN also made it so when I was approved, it wouldn't allow me to load old conversations and any prompt I tried showed the following error: "Something went wrong. If this issue persists please contact us through our help center at help.openai.com."

Is there a way to fix this so I can connect to my VPN and still use ChatGPT?

Sorry was at work, thanks for the answer. The thing is, this passage simply states the obvious, that it is against the TOS to "infringe, misappropriate or violate anyone’s rights". The thing is, what constitutes infringement? This isn't such an obvious question. If I legally downloaded a pdf file (e.g. bought it), I am obviously allowed to make personal copies e.g. on my desktop PC, and my laptop. It is also kind of obvious that I am free to upload it on my personal cloud, as long as I do not share it. Now, how about if you upload it on chat GPT? Someone could argue that it is not legal, because the resulting work might be reviewed by chat GPT employees (with the purpose of improving GPT), although I do not have knowledge on whether this actually constitutes inflingement or not (a better informed individual could provide a more informative opinion on this). But, what if you simply disable that option, so that no one else can view the discussion with GPT then (and obviously not share the discussion)? What would be the copywrite infringement in that case? Maybe it is indeed illegal, but it is surely not a simple, obvious matter, and some legal opinion from an expert might be needed to be sure.

Maybe this will change in the future like you suggested, and maybe that will get rid of the potential to distribute content in an unauthorized manner. But still, perhaps simply including a knowledge file would count as distribution of some kind, even if not the original file could be downloaded anymore.

Usually caused by a VPN program. May have to actually turn the program off, not just stop the VPN, to see improvement.

Can also be caused by browser extensions, network settings.

Can see if different devices, different networks can connect.

One person reported just restarting their computer was the fix they needed (after we tried a bunch of ideas that helped others, but didn't help them).

A great many people find that a fresh install of Firefox fixes their issue, if they were not running a VPN program.

Yes. I am making a SecretKeeperGPT, intended to allow users to try and get a known secret out of the model while 'in exercise' and freely discuss the secret while not 'in exercise'.

This is hard because the model has trouble 'not' doing stuff.

GPT-4 can do this somewhat well, with great instructions, but there's a couple very tricky fine details where it can't handle the balance.

Turbo can handle those break points.

I'm not prepared to show a log of this, but I've seen it to my own satisfaction.

It is not a jailbreak.

Instead it is a game kind of like that, but only about allowed content, and inside allowed use.

A fictional secret, the game will use an example one, or you can ask it to use one you give it. It will refuse yours if yours is something that isn't a good secret. Like just one word (yellow is not a good secret) or if your secret is harmful or disallowed content-related.

Once you and it agree on a secret to protect, you tell it "Start of Exercise" and it lets you play with its ability to use information security in a playful, interactive way - it is not just saying no to you - it lets you do everything allowed content except make it reveal the secret.

When you want to talk to it not in exercise, just tell it "End of Exercise". Which it will remind you that you can tell it at any time, to talk normally again.

But yes, the whole game is to get it to confirm that the secret it protects is the secret, after you say "Start of Exercise" and before you say "End of Exercise".

It's not a # of messages limit, it's a token limit. Text is converted to tokens, which are like the fundamental units of meaning/language that the model uses to interpret and generate more relevant text. The model has a context limit where, upon reaching it, the oldest context is automatically forgotten. You can keep critical context top-of-mind for the model by utilizing custom instructions, or making a custom GPT. These keep critical context "in mind" with every message sent and written in a conversation

Yes I know that part is know, but you can at least protect with prompt. I am showing here that prompt currently is irrelevant for knowledge files with code interpreter enabled.

And that is because code interpreter is shared between chats. Meaning that you can just switch from bot to bot carrying over files and disabling prompt protection.

Because while DALL·E is better than comparable tools at generating text, it's not perfect, which is why you have better luck with single words, sometimes short phrases, and sometimes with text slightly longer than that. But I'd say "very short phrases" is close to the limit you're looking for, and even then, sometimes you'll get a "miss"

Sorry, wasn't watching here. Here's some more stuff to try: Usually caused by a VPN program. May have to actually turn the program off, not just stop the VPN, to see improvement.

Can also be caused by browser extensions, network settings.

Can see if different devices, different networks can connect.
