If you were to pay for the api subscription, then you do indeed get some more features to play around with i.e images and plugins, but if you’re looking to use chat gpt for non-development purposes, then in my opinion paying for the chat gpt plus subscription is effectively more cheaper.

As I’m on the plus subscription, I can definitely tell you that currently you don’t have access to images and plugins, though you can join the waitlist for plugins and get priority access due to being a plus member

However, I've noticed that as conversations get lengthy, it seems to make things up and may not recall details from the beginning. Has anyone else experienced this? All models have token limits. Even chat models can only include so much context before there isn’t enough space left for new input and new responses.

To answer your questions more directly:

• Each conversation is independent, and context between them is not shared.
• Although GPT-4’s token limits are higher than the other models (meaning it can “remember” more context) you will still reach those limits at some point and older exchanges will start to get excluded

There is no question about this. GPT4 and GPT3 have very distinct behavior. You always know the difference. And right now GPT4 is answering like GPT3. It's ignoring context. It refuses to stay on task more than one or two posts.

GPT4 has become decidedly less helpful and dumber today. Was great yesterday. Today something is wrong.

Something is wrong with GPT4s contextual understanding today. It's behaving exactly like GPT3.5. It is normally quite good about remembering context and what you've provided and what you want. Today it ignores pretty much any previous part of the chat beyond two replies. They have tweaked something, or something is broken I believe.

This has been covered pretty openly, the main thing they do which downgrades the model's performance are their security barriers, so not replying to certain questions, which seems to be a significant metric, scoring up to 20% worse in certain benchmarks. Beyond that, it doesn't seem like they are actually hitting compute limits much, projects like midjourney require far more GPUs, for a relatively small user base. If anything, If anything, they are dynamically adjusting model sizes depending on current load and task, not overall user numbers.

Anyways, can anyone here tell me the current limit for how many messages you can send to the GPT-4 model in ChatGPT per h? Pls ping

well i may have complained initially about gpt-4 w/ browsing being what appears to be some sort of incomplete model that thinks it's gpt-3... i spin up at least 5-10 gpt-4 threads per day (80% legitimate work usage), and have built a number of automated content generation tools using the chat api endpoint, calling the gpt-4 model. it's amazing. love being able to chunk huge amount of prompting context into gpt-4 and have it work its magic. can't wait for more powerful models

And it appears from a google search that people are already starting to use ChatGPT to replace human lobbyists...
