Okay so now I get it, it wasn't GPT 4 fault, the issue was I was counting too much on it to do everything which is too much to ask at this stage, maybe with newer version like GPT 5 it will be possible to expect it to write your whole code, but instead, if your code becomes larger then it's time to dive into tutorials, do as much as you can and only ask gpt 4 for help when you get stuck, as in "fix this thing for me" or "tell me why this doesn't work out" or "what do I need to do here to have this thing x workin". By doing so it is able to help even when code snippets are big, but you can't just fed it 3 prompts with huge code snippets and then ask it to do x y z, yes it can do it (sometimes) but most of the time it will have issues because of the context/memory limit. So yeah, GPT 4 is working as intended, it's just that when you start out and your code is small you fall into this dream world where you get the impression you can give it all your snippets and it can do magic, but then when you snippets start growing up then you're confused as it seems it's no longer smart, when in fact it's just that its context limit is making it impossible for it to work like that because your code now it's too big for it to store basically, as far as I understand. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, I learned something new today, don't expect the bot to write your entire project unless it's a small project.

that is an entire industry as a topic, you should read up on embeddings and understand how you can best take advantage of the features it offers, you can either spend time learning it or pay someone to do it for you

You can split your code into multiple snippets and feed every single piece in every single conversation.
You can start the conversation like:
"Next, I need your help. I will send you my code in batches, and you need to understand it and answer my questions later. If you're ready, please let me know by saying "I'm ready.""

It can do that but if you give it multiple prompts with 2000 lines of code and then ask it to do stuff it will forget your first and second piece of code by that time. That's what I meant by context awareness. Yes you can feed it a big chunk of code in a single prompt and it will probably be able to help you do X but only for that single prompt, if you ask a series of questions that are related to the same piece of code it can probably do that too but when you feed it 3 big prompts (as in 4k tokens each) then ask it to do something that concerns all of those 3 prompts it will probably not be able to remember your first prompt and the second prompt so it will start hallucinating or not be helpful.

If those multiple snippets are under 4k tokens then yes but if you have let's say a login page that is about 6k tokens, then a signup page that is 4k tokens and another page which is 8k tokens, even if you give it like 20 prompts containing snippets which put together make up those 3 pages, by the time you finish feeding it those snippets it will only remember the last few of them, so then when you ask it your question it will probably mess up the answer since it cannot remember your first tokens, then if you remind it of your first tokens well, you just loaded more stuff in its memory so it has to free something else up so it will probably not remember the last snippets now, it's a cat and mouse issue.
