no, but if you are using gpt4 as a plus user it is limited to 25questions/3hrs at the moment, but after that you can continue the conversation. Eventually the model will forget what you initially asked though as it has a limit of input length, not sure how much though. Like if you only ask short questions it remembers probably all of it, but if you back to back ask 100 of rows in a question it will forget pretty fast

Has anyone here messed with having GPT-4 reflect on its responses? I've been experimenting with it and I have found that asking it simply "can you review you response" after every response it gives has let it catch errors its made and in most cases correct them, going further than that I have been able to get it to review its output mid response and make corrections, aswell as do checkpoints and it seems like it is able to recognize when it is getting off track, or doing something wrong, and if it constantly reminds itself it can do more difficult tasks than it can normally

A prompt that gives staggeringly different results between the two is asking it to write english without using any english letters, just symbols like numbers or letters from other languages, while GPT-4 isnt perfect it is orders of magnitude better

or ask each model to review its previous awnser, gpt4 will detect errors accuratly, gpt3 just guesses unless you tell it it is wrong

I have adhd which means I might be considered to struggle with task switching aswell since I also sometimes dont get stop signals. a way to fix this for me is sometimes to have set check points where I make sure I am staying on task. Lets try the alphabet poem challenge again, agian reviewing your work and stating frustrations, but this time to help with task switching aftr every 4th word state what alphebet you are on, the next letter you are meant to do, and what alphabet and letter your should stop one once the poem is done. for example

As a junior developer, I think its going to become an essential skill, since it has allowed me to troubleshoot and learn much faster than I ever could just googling, Like nothing ive gotten from it has been super advanced, but for basic sql stuff, basic python programming, or even like enviroment setup etc it is far faster to use gpt4 than google in my experience

GPT4 isnt yet at the level of replacing junior devs, but it can make current devs work faster on a similar order of magnitude to someone who only uses programming textbooks to look up information vs someone who googles their errors

lol fair, and also for the knowledge cut-off I think its due to safety concerns aswell as training data sterilization. A looot of AI generated content is online now a days and so training AI on AI content won't let it improve, so they are pretty much forced to train it on 2021 data until we have a solid way to filter out AI generated content

I asked it to update it's knowledge cut off date and it did so but only hypothetically and still couldn't answer questions past the actual cutoff. I suppose it doesn't need to be trained past 2021 as long as you can hook it up to the outside world so it can get real time answers that way. looking forward to that. probably already exists.

for programming I use copilot in android studio plus chatgpt. I could open ios code inside intellij or vscode but it's not worth it.
