You're right. It seems to have a strong urge to be your "helpful assistant", so it's trying to give you solutions most of the time unless you tell it to ask questions. It's a bit confusing: there are several versions of the model. One e.g. can take 8k tokens, one can take 32k (~25k words) in context. Another one can take text and images. Another one has plugins. All of these are at different stages of accessibility. Only a lucky few people have access to 32k, images, or plugins. If you have GPT-4, chances are high it's the 8k token variant.

Probably it's also about cost. GPT-4 8k already is very expensive and slow, so probably it also causes high load. The 32k model or, probably even worse the image models, need even more compute. They just don't have enough machines and V100 GPUs to let a lot of people play with those models.

Ok true so 4 beats out 3.5 in every metric I mean I would assume this to be true since it’s $20 a month vs free hahah but just because it beats it does it mean it’s worth the finances? I mean I guess so but maybe 3.5 can fit the role required for many without spending money. I am tempted to get 4 but part of me is trying not to be impulsive hahaha
