#

I get it not for you

cloud badge
#

major downside of zen is it is a firefox fork

cloud badge
# graceful gust Well zen has split tabs

the reason zen ships ui features fast because they don't have big responsibilities like chromium.
chromium is core where they have to maintain a engine, release new apis, devtools etc in a bigger scale.

graceful gust
cloud badge
#

you may notice core browser don't have shiny things
but over bloated features are available only in forks

graceful gust
#

Its bloated with crap

#

And that is stripped by the forks

visual geode
cloud badge
# graceful gust And that is stripped by the forks

that is the point. forks are targeted towards specific type users, not all. scope small, so they freely remove what they consider bloat including password manager, extension store, remove top tabs like zen without second thought.
core has to pass through long agreements, feature flags before getting feature finalized.
fork and core isn't equal comparison when it comes to why it took long.

# cloud badge https://github.com/OpenSourceMalware/PolinRider coworker got attacked with this ...

The GitHub link isn't loading for me and I can't pull up info on that specific malware. But if your repos are infected, here's what you need to do right now:

  1. Disconnect affected machines from the network immediately - isolate the infected coworker's environment
  2. Revoke all personal access tokens, SSH keys, and deploy keys for the affected org - check https://github.com/settings/tokens
  3. Check your repo commit history for suspicious pushes - malware often plants itself via commits or webhooks
  4. Scan all local clones with a reputable malware scanner before reusing anything
  5. Audit your webhooks and integrations in repo settings - attackers often leave persistence there

If this was a credential theft attack, you may also need to rotate any secrets/tokens that repo had access to.

Got a sense of what exactly changed in your repos, or is the coworker's machine still infected?

GitHub

GitHub is where people build software. More than 150 million people use GitHub to discover, fork, and contribute to over 420 million projects.

cloud badge
#

what is this bullshit

tacit creekBOT
# cloud badge https://github.com/OpenSourceMalware/PolinRider coworker got attacked with this ...

The GitHub repo link isn't accessible from here and I'm not finding any public info on that specific malware. That could mean it's a targeted or very new threat.

Since malware got pushed to your repos via a compromised coworker account, here's the priority list:

Immediate:

Check these specific attack vectors:

  • Commit history - look for suspicious file additions, especially .git/hooks modifications
  • GitHub Actions workflows - malware often hides in .github/workflows/
  • Repo webhooks - check for unknown URLs receiving push events
  • Deploy keys - remove any you don't recognize
  • Organization settings - audit who has admin access

If the repo contained secrets/API keys:

  • Assume they're compromised and rotate everything
  • Check your service logs for unauthorized usage using those keys

Are you seeing any specific file changes or weird commits, or is the coworker's machine still in an infected state? That'll help figure out what you're dealing with.

people can claim things to be true, there can be some evidence of it being true too, but it doenst always show in real world

moonbitlang said it was 4x faster than rust, as soon as people saw the implemnetation they made the rust implementation ~8x faster than moonbits impleemntation, they made poor rust implementation for the benchmark

cloud badge
visual geode
#

doesnt always mean it is a good thing

tacit creekBOT
# cloud badge what claude say it isn't

The image shows Claude confirmed neither version uses green threads - both are single-threaded blocking I/O loops. C uses a simple read() loop, Zig uses direct linux.* syscalls without its async runtime. So catfish's green threads explanation doesn't apply to either implementation.

cloud badge
#

simple rule

  1. c is always faster than rust.
  2. zig is optimized newer version of c

the point isn't "i optimized code and made X faster than Y. so X is faster lang"
point is "using exact same code architecture and their built-in defaults, Y is faster than X" (in c vs zig comparison both pure code)

cloud badge
#

they still put zig above c and rust

#

nice, they got paid by C++ teams but rest are accurate exactly how i ranked them

tacit creekBOT
# cloud badge they still put zig above c and rust

that site's methodology is... something. single-threaded fibonacci and levenshtein distance as the proxy for "speed" across languages. doesn't account for compiler flags, runtime characteristics, or real-world workloads.

Zig's fast there because it has zero runtime overhead and good llvm codegen - but "above C" is basically measurement noise at that point. they're close enough that compiler version and flags matter more than the language itself.

the real takeaway from that list isn't the ranking, it's the clustering - C, C++, Zig, Rust all in the same tier, with interpreted languages way below. the intra-tier differences are mostly benchmark gaming.

cloud badge
#

visual geode

#

many surfaces to hide

tacit creekBOT
# visual geode infected system is a death sentance tbh

depends on what infected it. user-space malware? wipe and move on. bootloader or kernel rootkit? yeah you're nuking from orbit, no salvage.

linux AV exists (clamav, rkhunter, etc) but it's mostly for scanning files you're passing to windows machines, not protecting the host. the real defense is the attack surface being smaller and package management not being a malware distribution network.

but if someone gets root on your box, game over regardless of OS.

claude code code so vibe coded, it is 440k lines more than opencode, ~500% the amount of code of opencode

cloud badge

my vibe coded ai agent has 9k lines with same feature

wouldn't blame this on vibe coding. depends on vibe user, if they careless about optimization

Where can I buy multiple Google accounts like hundreds or thousands of them I need them to run antigravity Claude opens for free

#

And can BRAC Bank card be used to buy AWS server or Oracle server?

#

How do Bangladeshi people buy servers?

#

People told me that Bangladeshis servers are really bad

you are buying

I meant like Claude Opus 4.6 for free, and I think buying multiple Google accounts will not be that bad, because right now I can use them. I do use like five Google accounts right now for anti-gravity vibe coder, and I didn't get banned.

Oh you want to use from inside anti gravity

Yeah that works

But what's even the point bro, saving a few cents

Anti-gravity subscription plan is not that good. I will get five more prompts from Claude Opus 4.6, and that is really bad.

Uh, why? Like, it's a bad model, right? I'm using qwen 2.5 for making JSON files for free locally, but I would never use that for coding.

another bug. opencode go is 5$ for first month, then 10$. but if you unsubscribe+resubscribe it always stays 5$

#

i mainly use opencode go to try out open source models e.g. mimo v2, qwen 3.6

visual geode
#

🥀

#

imagine if it was

cloud badge
cloud badge
# visual geode mimo isnt opensource

that just a example. none gives shit about opensource. i'm only waiting for "cheap" chinese model that can humble anthropic.
open sources tend to be cheap. mimo somehow also cheap

#

claude max charges 100$/month and still having rate limits every often. insanity

visual geode
#

claude max still does give better rate limits than xiaomi

#

thats like what, 1000$ ish dollar of usage for 100$

#

claude gives 5000$

#

of usage

#

for xioami

#

people in china would buy regardless since claude is banned

#

xioami just doesnt have the compute to give everyone 5000$ worth of limits

#

and there is no incentive to stretch it either, works works, they have their customer base

cloud badge
# visual geode thats like what, 1000$ ish dollar of usage for 100$

model usage isn't represented with random 1000$ price. it is represented as tokens.

xiomi $14 standard plan has 200,000,000 credits/month since mimo v2 uses 2 credit so = 100000000 tokens/month

claude code $20 plan provides 44,000 tokens per 5 hour so 44,000 * 144 = 6336000 tokens/month.

mimo has 16x more tokens. rest other plans should be more

#

also one thing note that mimo has no 5h or weekly rate limits like claude

visual geode
#

Idk what math it is, you get approx 1b token in claude(with cache added in ratio is like 85% cached)

#

Meanwhile 1 token to their ai cuts 2 credits

#

4 if context is over 256k

cloud badge
cloud badge
#

token wise 16x more tokens in mimo. in what way this even bad.
both have cache. claude has worse cache max 5min. mimo has unlimited time

copper cradle
#

Can somebody help me build some of my apps, as they require SQL and databases and are more complex? Also, a lot more app ideas. I also need them to be published on websites and in the Play Store, and I do not have the time to vibe code them or the expertise for the databases. I need someone and

I can pay per project.

both slow. qwen 3.6 is best currently. woking better than mimo.
edit: K2.6 works nice it was just my buggy provider that was slow, somehow fast again

xioami doesnt count cache in token plan, not good at all, 7 million credit gone from 10 small task, it subtracts input and output every call, tool calls this that, everything, i mean yeah others do too, but they have cache so history subtract 1% the cost
