The map was really just an example; when I thought about the app, the idea was to provide a range of tools without needing to alt-tab or take off my glasses.
Create and view notes and images, wiki through the browser, item and quest management, timers.
It's not something specific to Ghosts of Tabor, but since it's my favorite VR game, I used it as an example.

I could see it being useful. Pulling up wiki item spawn locations, or quest details, or weapon details like what attachments/mags can be used with it. Not immersion breaking, IMO, since the military uses stuff like this all the time on the ground. A good alternative to pulling off your headset to look at your phone or PC (THAT'S immersion breaking, lol).
Not as useful for seasoned players, admittedly. But for those not sure of everything in the game yet, very useful.

I'd also like to talk about using it for things outside of the game while playing, like keeping up with messaging apps, other websites, etc. Personally, I use it a lot to keep up with incoming messages without having to look at my phone or open another app on the headset and lose control of the game.
