Alpha can be better when you're fighting longer distances since the recoil from higher calibers can be detrimental with smaller targets.. spear is crazy up close though. I'm not a huge fan of snipers and I've never really ran an xm250

recoil isn't too bad either imo, under 100m you spam, past that you tap. worth the tradeoffs for hitting about as hard as AP alpha does, with fmj

usually if i need capacity and power i just run xm250 with the scuffed angled grip setup, same recoil as the Spear but with 5x the ammo capacity
