but because of the latency you won't die immediately and on his end you were probably standing right in-front of his gun,
so you survived to see the second shot which i'm guessing is what you guessed killed you

that's also why when you kill-trade with other people you can see them die or fall to the ground but then you die after, or reverse depending on who shot just a few milliseconds earlier than the opponent
