Couldn't be me with my old shaky ass hands. There's downfalls to some gunstocks too like the lack of ability to control recoil like you can free hand. I use free hand with the GripVR controllers on all maps besides island then I switch to index with the tomahawk stock. Definitely helps. Must be all the extra estrogen I'm packing

That's sweet obviously. i wouldn't really know where to start, find a stock that has individual hand grips that attach separately and kind of rig a grip that would hold GripVR and still attach to the stock properly I would assume

It slides onto the tracking rings of quest 2 controllers

Rate my setup? on stability and ergonomics, it acts like a real gun with amidextrious holding with either hand on the barrel/ or handle its 10/10 for swapping weapons or slinging like a real rifle. Helps me stablize shots.

This is one of the few games where gunstock calibration is weird af. Other games do it better, so you are kind of at the mercy at how modular your gunstock is...or how well it lines up without calibration

Its created inconsistencies with other guns too and it also breaks some irl habits with your weapon dexterity

Test it out on island imo. On practice mode/PvE mode.
Its good for long range. Then try it out in the inner building of matka miest map to see its mid to close range usage

every position can be set IRL. You can "brute force" the tock to be what a developer wanted you to feel while carrying a gun. GoT is picky about that, but it only makes it more fun once your gunstock maches their vision.

i mean you can if your stock allows for it. Usually the X and Y butt adjustments are enough. most of the so called adjustable stocks ad a tilt for the controllers. But GoT is reeally picky. and it would require the changes done in game.

the SMG with the belt for a front holder. the very basic one. Normal guns like M4 have more normal setups. I took a pic for this one cuz its kinda insane

yea, once you learn the slip grips its second nature. the stock can easily align with any weapon as you can move the stock left and right on your shoulder until the ads is where you like it. I prefer the sbs stock but its a little bit more pricey. dont enable physical gunstock, theres no need. And in Tabor, guns without a grip will line up different depending on where you grab the front end (when physical gunstock is enabled). Asset sbs was my first stock and its what got me into gunstocks and while i bought one for steadier aim, i came to appreciate the immersion factor more than anything.

I made it lol so I can answer all your questions, but depends on how you use it.
The Speed Stock version is pretty straightforward it just stays in your dominant hand, like those from SkolVR, only downside is that the front part sticks out of your hand but still completely playable just have to get used to it at first

Otherwise if you take the All-In-One you can use a sling and let it hang on your chest to interact with stuff then when you pick your gun you put your controllers back in the gunstock, or split the gunstock in two, or use the same configuration as the SpeedStock

So, it all depends on personal preference. If you play a bunch of island and have crazy shaky aim, buy one, it will improve. But, if you like free handing, that is also fine, it’s better for quicker movements and flicking faster. But in the end, it’s all personal preference.

It's the same technique with the SmartStock shown in the video below. The good news is it's foldable and you may benefit from that at the beginning. And don't forget to turn off hands tracking in the Quest menu, it concerns every other stock too, when hands tracking turns on eventually messing with tracking.

You may adjust the stock to angled grips, creating an off set for everything else eventually, but it's not worth it for sure. It's highly recommended to use shift grip or the grip put on the bottom picatinny rail, closer to mag. That's instead of making your stock unnaturally crooked and uncomfortable. Same recoil reduction effect as a fact. It will also allow you to use any gun you like without readjusting the stock. More info about adjusting the Butcher to such grips are in my Discord server from the product description, tabor-calibration channel.

I got lucky my calibration messed up two days ago where as everyone was telling me it was 2 weeks it has been bugged. So I got lucky somehow, how idk. Eventually two weeks after it bugged out on me. Yup, just ruined my chance to grab omega. I am couple quest left and boom its mine. I get there are going to be issues with a game 100 percent. It is never going to be perfect but christ this many game breaking bugs at once is alot. ohh... this need to be fixed asap. I tried to adjust my hand pitch rotation trying to see if this helped to lower the tip of the rifle where my gunstock controller cup is, or at close enough to it. But, now the hand pitch rotation got stuck to be moved just with my controller stick and this makes to jump to -90 or +90 degree. Now i can't set it to any other angle... I had to reset to default all my setting. Now all my weapons calibration are screwed. I guess is a good moment to take a break from the game. Hopefully next patch I will be able to get the omega. I was stuck with some X quests that are also bugged... I really hope these bugs get fixed soon. I love the game, keep it up devs!

@stiff fox try clearing your gunstock cache, mine does this after update. Recalibrate but dont use your furthest grip just calibrate it so it lines up. There is a tutorial to set it up properly if that was the issue.

Oh yea its great for tabor. If i ONLY played tabor i would probably run the SMARTstock since its super lightweight and just so mobile but i run some other games and the tomahawk works for me for the otehrs so i stick with it.

Again a bunch of Tabor CC;s use a SMARTstock for gameplay. @robust laurel mains the SMARTstock and shes a GREAT tabor player. People just normally see her on stream which is her just having fun.

And when the menu pops up to do the calibration you have to turn your head to the side a little to be able to see your hands and gun positions

I'll give you a bit of information

Pros:

• better aim
• less gun sway
• added weight so it feels more like a gun
• improved stability

Cons:

• some little deadspots in containers where you can't access anything
• sometimes make contact with the gunstock
• (atleast for me) drum mags for the ak series are sometimes hard to reload.

Overall, it improved my aim a ton and gameplay feels smooth and steady.
The magnetic version is great for fast versatility and you can still throw nades decently.

I am no salesman and this is the complete truth about Skol's product. On a side note, i had problems because of my headset having an issue, and the customer support service from him was perfect. Was able to ship me a free replacement

My current go-to is the Tomahawk by SkolVR. I tend to alternate between that and the onestock.

Whenever I use the tomahawk, I miss being able to completely have my hands free sometimes like I can with the onestock.

Whenever I use the onestock and I die because I couldn't get my gun up quickly enough, I miss the tomahawk.

Out of all of the designs out there if you decided to try something else id 100% suggest something like the smartstock by skol, or some other split-style magnetic design. The speed is VERY hard to match

No problem! The tomahawk looks bulky, but its very lightweight. Whenever im doing something like.... organizing my alpha container or crafting NRS is where the onrstock REALLY shines. In all other areas I love my hands being in the stock all the time.

The smartstock i think is even half the weight of the tomahawk, and the tomahawk is really light.

Dude the magnets are awesome for the onestock. I realize this is probably a skill issue on my part... but when I first got that onestock without the magnets I hated that thing. It never really felt secure ya know? The magnets certainly saved that stock for me.

Personally don’t use the gun stock calibration it makes your gun spaz out just turn of all gunstock options and with every gun u run just adjust the cheek rest

Yea, OG is right. The calibration is currently broken.

9 times out of 10 all you need to do is adjust the cheek rest height. Every once in a while you may have to raise the front hand just a little bit, but this is usually solved by putting a grip on the weapon anyways

It only needs to be close enough for when you hit the grip button on the front controller, it snaps to your hand.

The smartstock by SkolVR comes to mind immediately.

SkolVRs current products are compatible with almost every quest controller, quest 2, 3, pro controllers, so even if you upgrade your headset your gunstock will still work if you stick with Meta.

The magnetic design cant be beat, it is in my opinion the fastest, and easiest to use gunstock on the market. Almost no learning curve, versus a stock with a sling that every time you drop it to do something else then you have to go through the trouble of finding the gunstock on your chest/side and then get back into it before using it.

With Skol your hands never leave the stock, its basically an extension of your hands, always ready at the drop of a dime.

There is of course other good options out there, but specifically for quest 2 id have to look into some other options.

Depends on the gunstock. If you have a bar/rod on the bottom then you just tilt your hands slightly to the side and develop some.muscle memory on where your stock is.

Ah.... yes so the gun calibration is pretty much broken in this game.

For me its specifically the sniper rifles that do that.

For my brother its assault rifles.

For one of my.buddies its specifically LMGs.

Your probably better off turning it off and adjusting the gunstock around it

I have mine off, feels much better and I can actually use snipers now because my dominant hand isnt 8 inches above my actual controller anymore

Virtual and physical disabled. No janky aim or hand smoothing. Those tend to add lots of latency.

Basically if the front of your gun was too high for you to grab with the front hand without taking your hand out of thr stock, you should be able to just tilt that controller cup forward a bit. After that, simple adjusts the cheek rest height to line up with your optic.

Angled grips tend to feel weird in the gunstock by the way. The RK1, or any other vertical grip will probably feel better

A stock may not help with that then, but you can try and get one. Any stock you like the most is good for sniping. Just takes practice and training

I use SkolVRs products, which are also split style.

While they can be cumbersome sometimes when your crafting NRS for 45 minutes in the bunker, or trying to fit something into your alpha container, they are the FASTEST style of gunstocks on the market. Very low learning curve, since its essentially an extension of your hands.

You cant go wrong with that type of gunstock for most things

Does anyone have trouble calibrating the snipers because i was able to get most assault rifles and smgs by only putting hand pitch rotation to -10 and not changing their calibration. Then if i use a sks or awm it messes up and isnt good

Yea the gunstock calibration is broken in this game, oddly enough for specific weapon types, even MORE strangely enough, it happens for different weapon types for different players.

For me its snipers, for my brother its assault rifles

Yup. For me no matter how many times I do the calibration it raises my dominant hand about 8 inches above where my controller actually is.

how do you find doing other tasks like using your backpack and such with your controller in a stock?
do they come out quite easily or is it kinda a fuck around?

I usually have more of a problem getting back into the stock than out of it.

The Onestock (black and white tube style) the magnets are strong enoug to hold it up, but with a tiny little bit of extra pressure and your hands come out super fast and super easy.

When your in a rush if you get surprised by someone, sometimes it isnt always the quickest to get back into because you have to find it hanging by your waist. Now... its still pretty damn quick, but when milliseconds matter it feels like an eternity.

Now... something like the SkolVR stocks, the purple, and that black and red one.

The stock splits in half magnetically. Your hands are always in it. Its basically an extension of your hands. That one is lightning quick to use and theres almost no learning curve, excellent design. while its perfectly comfortable to wear for several hours and loot, and do other tasks, I can see for some people why they may not want that extra weight on their hands the entire time they are playing, but... the SkolVR stocks are light, they aren't that heavy.

My suggestion? Get something with a magnet. Wether its a tube or a "split" style gunstock.

When you dont have magnets thats when your doing alot of messing around coming both in and out of the stock.

Oh 100%. Its awkward trying to wield a 2 handed rifle with free floating controllers lol.

So thats the Tomahawk by Skol. Its about a 200 dollar stock. I love it i think its awesome.

If thats more than youd be looking to spend, he does have the Butcher for about 140, another excellent stock, and then he also has the Smartstock, which is a barebones version of these stocks where the only adjustment you can make is the cheek rest height for about 90 bucks.

Now.... as a nerd who has 5 of these damn stocks, the only thing I ever really have to adjust to make a skol stock work with a gun is literally the cheek rest.

In my experience adjustability of a stock is primarily for comfort reasons, and the cheek rest height is of course to line up your optic.

Yea i think its a solid gunstock for sure. It feels very premium too.

If your someone who likes to keep their hands free when dIing other stuff like... looting, ladders, crafting, etc, then thats a super solid option

It reacts perfectly, if you have sustained heavy fire from a larger machine gun like a pkm it starts to sort of „gunk up“ after 25-30 rounds

but other than that works perfectly

Like my aim is stiff i cannot aim that freely if i wanna look around corners i need to move really much and if i wanna aim more to the right i just cant move my gunstock i need to move my whole body and arms

Yea its... its super sloppy without the magnets and not the easiest to get back into. Its why I always keep coming back to the SkolVR stocks.

Yea you usually gotta tweak it around a bit to get it dialed in, once you've got it I never really have to adjust the thing anymore after that. It just simply works

But then after a while I get exhausted/annoyed with finding my way back into the stock over and over again and I go back to the Skol stock lol.

Basically like... out of all 5 of the freaking gunstocks I own none of them tick all of the boxes.

I typically just find that the Skol stocks for my specific tastes ticks the most boxes for me.

bc its a fast paste game. even SND is faster than other games. guns handle much faster there. there is no additional artificial weight (witch is the best thing you can get for gunstocks btw). the reloads are excepted with full speed even tho the guns are one of the most realistic invr. recoil is brutal for some in pavlov. there also is a mechanic of holstering the gun on your back, so gunstock owners might have problems with magnets detaching. if youd ask for a stock on pavlovs discord or reddit there will always be few dudes hating on the idea. sometimes it literally is hate.. ppl are strange

Angled grips dont work with the gunstocks very well. Use the RK1 instead

if you have a skolvr/rear hand stuck in stock style gunstock, you cant. with a tube style (protube, i think onestock can too), rotate your forward hand outwards

thats why i always recommend protube stocks, even onestock and similar styles are way better for adjustment and adapting to your body for ergonomics

skol just has more gimmicks and is dirt cheap

That's a misinformation. Skol Tomahawk and Butcher have front hand angle rotation. It's just not recommended to use crooked ergonomics instead of a comfortable grip. The Smartstock doesn't and it's not meant to be. Tube stocks are at least twice cheaper in production, and easier to make overall. That's why there's a bunch of cheap replicas on Amazon around $30.

It can support anything crooked, but it's not comfortable. And tilting around the tube is even more uncomfortable. OneStock true rotation really does it's job, making the front infrared diodes less visible for tracking though. Hope it's clear.

There's literally an equivalent straight grip. I wouldn't want any gunstock slanted to accommodate for that. It would probably become a bit awkward to handle, and with the straight grip equivalent having the same recoil reduction, why bother trying to work around an angled grip?

Hey everyone, I need some help.

I have a ProTube and a SKOLVR Butcher — I love both, but I’ve been using the Butcher almost all the time. This wipe I wanted to go back to doing some raids with the ProTube, but whenever I enable the physical gunstock, my hands point downward.

I adjust the hand pitch, but as soon as I grab the weapon again it resets to the same issue. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hey everyone I’m thinking of picking up a gunstock nothing crazy as I’m not sure how I will like it, my budget is around the 30 - 50$ even cheaper if possible so i can test it out. I want to know how you got used to it tho? Letting go of it to grab bags putting your controller back in quickly getting used to it in general?

Not all of em require you to take your hands completely out. SKOLVR has some of the easiest gunstocks to use.

But if you want something you can take your hands.out of, its just like anything man, muscle memory, just simply using the gunstock will make you better at using the gunstock.

The tomahawk is the most premium.

I dont think anyone really explains the differences in the different skol stocks that are important tho, in my opinion.

The smart stock. The least adjustable, but for 99% of scenarios, the only thing I ever have to adjust is the cheek rest height to get a weapon to work with a skol stock. The smart stock is also the lightest, making it the easiest to move around if your looting, crafting meds, doing bunker chores, etc. Its also the shortest, VERY compact and small for factor.

The butcher is just a little bigger, slightly more weight, and you can adjust the front hand angle, height, and the length between your dominant and non-dominant hands.

The tomahawk folds, which is cool, but to be honest I hardly ever use the folding action.

The badass part about the tomahawk for me is the length. When fully extended this is the lengthiest stock he offers, which even for my small 125lb, 5'7" body is very comfortable. I generally find this one to be the most comfortable for me due to the length. However... its also the heaviest. Is it "heavy"? Not really, but it isnt light either.

If I was going to craft NRS in my bunker for 45 minutes, I would be taking my controllers out of the stock. But I do use this stock often for this game.

The advantage of Skol stocks vs any other kind of "tube" style stock is that your hands never truly come out of it. Making it extremely fast, easy, and incredibly intuitive to learn with almost no learning curve.

For extraction shooters theres a big part of me that prefers tube style stocks so that for certain things I can take both of my hands out of it. Makes crafting ammo, meds, looting, etc, easier.

These stocks EXCEL in fast paced games like onward, Vail, Pavlov, etc where the primary thing your doing is shooting at things.

However.... in games like tabor, if I ever get surprised and need to get into my gunstock NOW, im kind of pissed off that I dont have my skol stock on at the moment.

No gunstock you ever buy will tick all of the boxes. You try to find the ones that tick the most boxes for you.

Do you want a lengthier gunstock?

Do you care about having your hands completely out of it? Or would you rather prioritize speed?

Do you want it to be highly adjustable?

I would not focus on adjustment except for comfort. It is very rare that I need to adjust a gunstock after the initial setup to get it to work with other guns
