I’d say go with carbon if you can afford it, it’s so much lighter as well as the controller cups. The plastic ones are significantly heavier.

The pro strap is nice for quest controllers too.

I think I have a gunstock problem…. Have a ProTube and love it. Don’t need in game calibration at all!!

Tried the Mamut Raidr stock at launch. Like the idea of a magnet stock, but execution was poor (think they maybe fixed it since).

Went back to ProTube. I love the free hands, but a couple times fumbled getting front had back in and died. Also find the sling a bit restricting. Not that big a deal at all, but just Ordered a SkolVR Tomahawk. I’m hoping for a best of both worlds situation but I guess we’ll see how much having a buttstock stuck to right hand bothers me when throwing grenades.

Anyone know if you can get away without in-game calibration for the tomahawk? I’ve had some super annoying hand offset bugs with it.

Serious question yall. My friend wants to get the onestock because he loves using shotguns in different vr games, but this man constantly smacks his old gunstock around. Is the onestock decently built or reinforced?

I had a onestock for a short while before returning it, I felt like the general frame was sturdy.. just not smack around and hold very tight like that constantly kind of sturdy. Personally I wouldn’t count on it lasting long term with that kinda usage.

I think it's actually not clean. For many reasons. Though it's personal preference always.

MagTube looks like 10 times less bulkier and easier to use than that. And has no sharp edges at all.

Basically, it's the frankenstock made out of the SKOLVR old BUTCHER replica from Makerworld (posted about 6 months ago, NOT for commercial, but for personal use only btw) with adding a free disproportionate buttstock above that from Thingeverse. The buttstock design looks absolutely different from the front part as a result. The innovations we all deserved.

The grips are made pretty plain also. I personally know the guy who made these particular grips and this whole front part of the stock for his son after buying my old BUTCHER about a year and a half ago. His idea was to make a compact old BUTCHER replica for his son to be able to print it on Bambu Mini. He kindly shut down the free listing after I asked (because someone could sell it, harming my reputation), but I saw about 13 people downloaded... And they've added a different buttstock to it.

Looks completely unusable to me personally. I prefer to throw grenades during the battle freely with the main hand, with the stock always attached. The sling interrupts that completely. But to each their own, of course. Hope it doesn't weight much. Have nothing to say about the quality of print, trash or pro.

I'd still prefer the ProTube over this particular stock, if I were a gun sling fan. Though I'm not a sling fan at all.

Overall, the more different stocks, the better for users. I'd only wish they'd have more original design and functions.

Wow, a response from THE SKOLVR! I appreciate you taking the time to reply. If I may, I’d like to address a couple of points.

The claim that the MagTube is “10 times better” seems a bit overstated most reviews I’ve seen suggest otherwise. The smaller contact points in particular tend to make it more difficult to use and adjust to.

Regarding the “Frankenstock” allegation, I personally prefer verifiable proof over word of mouth. I own a Butcher stock myself and find it to be an excellent product. That said, pointing to similarities in design simply from a photo feels like a stretch. I will also note that throwing grenades with the dominant hand using the Butcher can be awkward. I typically have to use my off hand.

From my perspective, your comments came across as targeting a competitor primarily because it’s a 3D printed gunstock. That feels less like constructive criticism and more like bashing.

That said, I do have a Shadow Stock on the way, and once I’ve had the chance to test it thoroughly, I’ll be happy to share a review based on firsthand experience.

I have all screenshots of that Makerworld listing and screens of all conversation with the original author of the front of that exact BUTCHER replica used with literally zero correction in the front part of this stock, no worries. It's all proven frankenstock. Otherwise I wouldn't even mention this. Literally 0% of original parts here all over the whole design. And when I say 0% changes on the front I am absolutely sure. Can give you screenshots in DM's if it's needed.

Everything else is just personal opinion and preference, for sure, friend. The wide vertical magetic point of contact as a benefit isn't even worth mentioning because that's what I've created 3 years ago and that's what you definitely like in your BUTCHER.

Everything else is just a matter of preference. For example I find the buttstock folded near the stock isn't convenient for reloading or throwing greades at all. Kobra Sidewinder or KuniVR Raptor implemented this function so much better. But there's still a high probability of self unfolding during action. I don't even mention Tomahawk, which was the main reason why this function is even here.

Not having Tomahawk it would be pretty hard for you to compare the folding stuff though. But you will be able to compare the weight, grips, and durability for sure. Of course, everything is known better through comparison.

I've just pointed out that it's not clean in terms of design. Being the maker myself I can see it without any usage.

I'm not afraid of competition or something like that, I've got rid of these black butcher grips already in my current design. Please get me right, this is not what I personally can call clean or good having all that proven info and experience I have.

And when I mentioned MagTube I meant it is so much better and easier to drop it on a sling unlike frankenstock. I don't think it's not obvious but you definitely need to try that and share your feedback on that, if you would like to.

I appreciate him for that, though I had all papers prepared for the Makerworld administration IP violation claim. He's a good guy imo, and made this unintentionally. He wrote he never was going to make money out of it. I also noticed 13 current downloads or something like that before the deletion. That was about 6 months ago. I have email conversation screens of everything. And this listing was sent to me by another well known gunstock maker with the note: 'Hey bud, I saw this and it raised my eyebrows...'

Apologies for the late reply. You will find that different guns may be awkward to handle after you calibrate it for one, even if they are in the same category. The way I calibrate mine before a raid is to pick up the gun, bring my stock up in the ADS position, and adjust until the reticle is in a comfortable place. In the pinned messages of this channel ragesaq goes into detail and has a video demonstrating it.

I returned my onestock because I just could not get used to it with tabor, as its grip handles tend to swivel around a lot even when tightened making it annoying to aim, it also put a lot of strain on my ring and pinky fingers but that might be a skill issue on my part

Butcher was always the best in terms price/value. The new Tomahawk you have is now converted into Butcher with swapping the buttstocks in seconds, but it's more downgrade than upgrade for the most versatile Tomahawk. Earlier it wasn't possible. You will make sure, all of them are solid, holding controllers very well.

The rotation of the dominant was never there and for such things there are other stocks out there. That wouldn't even help much to cross-eye dominant players. So I always preferred the maximum of rigidity and stability on my dominant.

I'm not cross-eye dominant, but I calibrated it many times for such guys. The SmartStock tends to be universally positioned, depending on the game, having especial average axis. Because I've initially designed it to be playable in all games out there. Considering and compromising many factors like aiming, tracking, and especially reloading. Lots of work was done for players to plug it, and play. That's the main concept of SmartStock.

Both stocks have Playstation upgrade possibilities. The difference is in the buttstock only. Foldable or not. The buttstock can be bought separately, and can be swapped in the current version. So you may basically upgrade Butcher to Tomahawk with paying the price difference afterwards.

I just use Express FedEx to the US which is more expensive than DHL. Plus it's all sold and sent for private use only, not for commercial use. So basically 3-6 days after about 7 days on making to order currently to the US.

If u want portable link cable id just get the 5m kiwi design one works for me but it just isnt designed to be as a charger so it doesnt charge as fast since it doesnt prioritize charging over link speed especially through computer but it still boosts it battery life from 2 hours to like 8 - 10 if u wanted.

I love mine. no complaints here. If you’re new to gun stocks just keep in mind there’s a learning curve it’ll feel weird at first but you’ll eventually only want to play with gunstocks.

the tl;dr is that Quest 3 controllers have a different grip angle than Quest 2 controllers. So Quest 2 MagTube using Quest 3 controllers will be offset by 15 degrees, making it harder to align guns in game. Still doable, by having the tube joints be offset, but it adds complexity to the adjustment to get a good alignment

additionally, Quest 3 controllers have a sensor on the bottom to aid with inside out tracking. Quest 2 mounts don't have an opening to account for this, so you need to pay extra attention when setting up the stock to ensure your headset can see the controllers.

Lastly, just a tip regardless, disable hand tracking when using the gunstock. The feature is known to interfere with tracking when using various controller accessories.

Yeah that issues sounds like it will be solved by disabling hand tracking, and further resolved by Quest 3 mounts.

Lastly, this image is of a different HMD and not accurate for the inside out tracking fov of Quest 3, but gives you an idea of what to visualize when setting up the stock.

Recoil is software driven. The stock improves stability, aim, and immersion

Sometimes it makes recoil easier compared to virtual stock, I don't know if it's the case for tabor, but it definitely is in breachers.
Virtual stock makes recoil feel stronger because you have to move your hand more to counter it

Why old? It's fully upgraded in every single way now. You have an additional cheek support and may even fully detach the buttstock. Plus the extended compatibility and more rigidity. Everyone having both versions admit it's better.

That's a great and common question for all the gunstocks in this game💯

Tabor angled grips are creating off sets. It's not comfortable to readjust stock physically to different guns creating off-set each time in Tabor. Though you have this opportunity with Tomahawk plus calibration. It has the rotation adjustments on the front exactly the same as the old Tomahawk. But using a shift grip with almost the same recoil is much more natural and comfortable than that. It won't create any off sets.

Also you may put a standard grip on the bottom picatinny rail. I have such a video tutorial for any of my stocks in my Discord server from the product description, tabor-calibration chat there.

It eliminates the minor issues I had with the 1.0 Butcher: improved balance, a natural, comfortable grip, and much better controller cups. Grenade throws are smooth and reliable, and the low-profile body stops the stock from bumping me while reloading. Big upgrade — highly recommend. 10/10.

Yeah its super janky. Usually closing the game and restarting it usually updates the calibration if it glitches out.

Yeah you have to pull the gun down. Its not as easy as free hand where you can just move the off hand down to compensate the recoil tho.

Its one of the cons about using a gunstock at the expense of a consistent raise up sight picture and long range stabilization

Some gunstock have off hand being "free" in mind, I haven't kept up with those, but I know they exist

Another important tip is knowing how to point shoot. Theres gonna be a lot of times where u cant use the optic to make quick shots. Therefore you have to rely on the gun physical structure as a reference on where you land ur shots

If you know this trick, u can sortve know where to pull your gun down to do full auto hits on a high recoil gun. Just know it gets harder the longer range ur target is

why does the calibration for physical stock not work poperly

so after alot (and i mean ALOT of playing mainly to get the secure containers) i can confirm the tomahawk gunstock is one of the BEST ones out there. After you figure out how to do the offsets, it becomes so good! It has 100% helped my aim get 10x better ect. It is also INSANELY good at defeating bosses and stuffs 👍 (My only issue is just putting this in backpacks and containers but still, its great !)

I have the Wield VR Gunstock. I like it a lot more than using a virtual stock but I should have looked at more reviews first. If you watch their advertisement they make it seem like you can adjust everything on the fly, the size of the stock, the vertical position of the butt, and the hand positioning, which is kinda true but you need a lot of practice in order to remember where they are and do it quickly. Its better to adjust it to one gun and just run that gun for the raid. The biggest downside that made me wish i read up on more reviews before buying it: The controllers dont sit inside the cups for the stock independently. youre basically holding the controllers to the gunstock. They show in the add that they're so quick to pull their hand off to load the mag and this is why. Which isnt so bad, but it was a little irritating at first. But as far as freedom of movement and choice of size, its a pretty good product. But i'm sure there's something better out there.

I'd actually say a SKOL gunstock. The tomahawk is definitely cool but you'll spend more time folding it than necessary and you'll really just end up using it folded out the whole time usually. So I'd say butcher or smart stock since they are lighter weight

@frozen apex Eh, it depends. I'd say it's a bit pricey not to have a magnetic grip of some sort to reduce strain on your hands. The fact that you got a hold it up manually with your pinky and ring finger is quite lame

An always on design is better for speed and reducing fatigue. A magnetic split stock or something with a removable grip works best IMO. So a SKOl product is a good sweet spot.

Hello, friend. I know the controllers aren't able to work while charging. The front hand can be attached when charging, but not the rear one. It's all super easy and fast dismounted on the fly whenever is needed though.

Do you have to reconfigure this every gun you pick up? I got a Vr gun stock back in August and it worked well for the quest2 but I got a quest 3 shortly after and the controllers don’t quite point the right direction and so it’s weird now. I like using a gun stock but it doesn’t quite work with the way the quest3 controllers point. Does your homemade stock work well for all weapons aside from pistols?

The thing is with Quest 3 VR controllers, unline Quest 2 has this ring as an antenna, the Quest 3 has the antenna inside the controller, what makes signal-reducing material an obstacle what makes tracking a nightmare. I experienced this by using some duct-tape around the controller handle on Mag-Tube, since the 3D print where cracking in front of the controllers. After that the left controller started having problems even connecting to the head-set. So I took the tape off, and used two O-rings and squezed 2 of those in between the controller and the controller mount it self, and that worked fine. So since you seem to have issues with grabbing your gun, and apparently losing tracking at that moment, I would guess it could have something to do with the controller communicating with your headset, or it could as well be a connection issue between headset to the router, if you use other gadgets to the same frequenzy channel on the router. It stutters when you grap things. It's extremly annoying. If you are using cable for stream-transfer image to the headset, then I dont know what it is. If it's standalone version of the game, I know nothing at all. (end of wall of text).

I don’t think it’s tracking because when I loaded into the game and tried the gun stock on one of the types of weapons was off to the right so I went to go calibrate it, and I lined it up perfectly and once I lined it up and clicked done, and I actually grabbed the weapon it pointed up until I grab the front and pull it towards my stock. I don’t know if this is how you’re supposed to do it, but in other games, you just pull back

I think I know what you mean. What I do when calibrating gunstock, I do as most others, just drop the initial testing weapon, and grap the weapon to calibrate against with. Also have the grip that is going to be used, then hold the weapon with right hand (if right handed), adjust weapon aligned with the grip, and hold the grip. At that moment, you release the grip, so your aim and handling the grip is adjusted perfectly. When you have messed around with that, then hold the grip, if your weapon doesent move when holding the grip, and it feels natural with aim, then continue hold the grip - then press both trigger's. The weapon will seem to jump out of position, but dont worry, while you hold the weapon with right hand, get out of the menu, drop weapon and hold it really quick, and you will see it gets back to the "calibrated" position, then hold the grip with left hand, and look.. it's not in the calibrated position, and it will stay there until you re-calibrate it again for micro-adjustments if needed.. or changing favorite grip or weapon.

Now I really wish that a content creator could just make a tutorial out of it. When you first get the hang of it, it's darn easy to calibrate gunstock. It's get easier and easier with time, soon it's like 15 second calibration to a new weapon.

Keep grinding and tweaking with it. Do practice raids if needed. It takes a good week or two depending how much you play. At some point you won’t be able to play without it lol.

not really. You want your dominant controller to be secured better than a half cupper.

it will bite you back if youll go for double halfcupper. front hand can be a half cup but dominant really should be a full cup

i have used a couple of commercial ones and they are always heavy, cumbersome or dont work right because they dont hold the controller right etc, I finally looked into 3d printed ones and this one i been using is a huge game changer, super light, easy to separate and snap back together instantly while wearing headset, adjustable, controllers are secured in place since it replaces the battery covers so they click into place, i modified it and added straps printed in TPU since thats the only thing it was missing:

I’ve had my cgrip for around 2 weeks and it’s been pretty good. It’s hard to get used to at first but then you get used to it and really see your full potential especially at long range. Unfortunately in tabor you don’t really get to use the cheek rest due to shitty calibration but what i did was clear my game save file (fixes gunstock issues but clears your settings and market favorites but doesn’t reset your account) and then only calibrated shotguns. Some grips you won’t be able to use anymore on certain guns but you have a physical stock now so recoil isn’t too much of an issue now anyways. I’ve been consistently head shooting scavs with iron sights from 60+ meters now which also gives me a ton more xp

@stuck leaf this is some of the "later" youll notice. But also some of the "right away" youll notice. Mainly the getting used to part. Got has some in game adjustments but they suck. IMO it should be on the gunstocks side to be able to become any given gun in game. It also should not be a problem to get used to. There is a threshold with every gunstock to be overcome. In the perfect world the threshold is not noticable. It will be with cgrip. Its up to a user if he wants to push through and get used to shortcommings of a stock. Its not like they will eventually disapear, they will become a part of the way you use the stock. I was not able to push through onestocks shitty halfcup design. On the other hand, smartsrock clicked very fast. Only later i noticed that its not the Best for fast moves. Magnets are not holding as strong as i would wish. Definetly share your experience with cgrip.
