haha i was just looking at your gear as you messaged me. i just wonder how easy it is to put the stocks back dueing a combat situation. the current one i ahve is a solid piece which can be cumbersome

Slight muscle memory adjustment, but within a round or two it is second nature. I also made a detailed overview video and happy to answer any questions.

The magnet and funnel do most of the work to "reform" it as a stock vs knuckle grips

I play with the exostock it’s great. Been using it for months, my brother plays with the protube which is also great but a lot more money and the muscle memory takes longer to develop. I got used to the exo in a single play session.

With 3D prints. Orientation, Walls, and Infill will make all the world of difference. Just because it is narrow, does not mean it is weak. 🙂

Mrtass exo I would recommend. Best for the price, easy muscle memory, lightweight, and super easy to loot or whatever and get back into the fight quickly.

i have a friend that uses a gunstock, he told me is not too great for recoil control and only for stabilizing your gun

If I could figure out how to make the part that holds the controllers I could make a awsome one with magnetic release but I can’t find anything stable and solid to hold the controllers

I was going to to use this as a frame with the handle as the shoulder pad. Then I have a stihle weedeater should
Strap that should work perfectly. The weight is good. Then I found some solid magnets but by the time I buy those I could have bought the above stock 😂

But for 37$ no contest… the others I was looking at was 200$ which seems to much unless I found a team and started seriously playing. I’ve only played solo and it’s getting pretty boring. But the player base seems very young and hard to find older chill players.

i have questions. Is your dominant hand stays where it needs to be? have you ever died because you "lost control" ? Is protube doing anything to keep your stock in desired position? Lets say, you dont do the artificial turn. Thats how the big boys gamin really. Than imagine a situation where you been lootin the hell out of those shelfs.. ( 😄 ) and then you`ve noticed a dude. Its too late to hear him, Now its a metter of whos first with the draw. Your stock is dangeling on the 2 point sling, and you know you have a second to draw the gun just to protect yourself. you where able to grab the stock, but during the draw, it went south. You are left with free hand. it didnt went well, you can only count on luck. The stock is gone. you are dying. the dude came in with attitude and made you his bitch. whos fault is it? yours or your device?

thats a universal question. How far we will blame the devices before we blame ourslefs? how well the device is protecting us from fuck ups like this? I guess, it all comes down to "is it worth it" question. Mr SkolVR once told me, that "every gunstock is better than no gunstock". I disagree. you can make your game worst comparing to a free hand, if it just not working out. Poor enough hours to get better, or throw the stock into a trash can immidietly. Not all gunstocks are better than free hand

That's definitely the case in games where you have to often switch from gun to free hand and vice versa, or a lot of encounters are close quarters. I play breachers competitively in VRML, and most people go from gunstock to free hand/virtual stock. Because most gunstocks make for a worst performance than free hand in these situations.

Breaches is a good example. I would not let go of my stock there even for a second. I would plant the traps within the 10 sec before game starts and never let go of the stock. The gunstock to free hand transition (especially in breachers) just don't exist

Since it's close range the gunstock doesn't offer much benefits, end will mostly limit your capabilities

Hell I've been disregarded for years with my ideas, but funnily enough they just keep coming back In a slighlty different forms on a professional colleagues designs.

Any gunstock is always better than no gunstock in terms of VR community growth and long range shooting stability. I highly appreciate every gunstock user, though consider some of gunstocks not so helpful as others. Everything is known better while comparison.

I also understand that some guys just like to "hug the bush" and spend few hours frozen. Tbh for that type of gameplay I would look for really high class stock. I would be done after 10 minutes of holding the double halfcupper. In terms of community growth, we definetly lost more people that tried one stock, hated it and will never come back to try other stock. Especially if they poor a lot of money into it. Yes there are guys that will stick with any design, probably for the long range game. It's sad that gunstocks are only considered good on a long range. I guess I must have used mine wrong all this time. I love CQB with the stock. But here the stock needs to perform a bit better than just stabilze long shots. At this point it's going to be hard for me to agree that any kind of sling can ever be better than holster but this topic is taboo. Literally noone have ever used a holster so I will be bashed for downgrading any kind of sling, especially since this is the industry standard

I thought you can tilt your handles on your gunstock. From the picture it looked like they can tilt. If not than this stock has no adjustments. The picture with reversed butt would be the only thing you can change and get some effects, but youve described a problem with the stock pointing down and solution for that is lifting up the butt. Definetly try the switch from a picture above. But really, since you got a non adjustable stock, all adjustments have to happen in game.

It's an intermediate difficulty, but it has the X and Y adjustable butt. It also has the basic proof of concept "hybrid" feature. It's magnetic and it can be locked to the controllers. And It had pretty nice pump action. It was my first design that worked. It's missing few stuff but it's pretty good.

Depends. You need to be careful with the dominant hand. The magnets alone are never enough to withstand any bigger pressure (fast moves etc). It also is the same for protube. Magnetic gunstocks are overall respected but you will get frustrated with it few times. I added additional locking mechanism to the dominant hand, sothrrez no need to worry, but if you are a more snipey player it should do

The huge advantage is being able to go somewhat free hand (you got to deal with dangling stock once it's off the magnets), so it's great for looting, planting bombs and everything involving two Cobtrollers. Permanent stocks don't have that. (tomahawk, ultistocks etc). I

If you really want the ability to go free hand then it will take some time to learn. For the first stock I advice Exostock. It has good enough adjustment to actually align with the guns, but you won't get free hand. You can go for ultistock. It also wont be able to give you free hand, but it is minimalist enough to use handguns with the stock on the controller, but exostock has better setups. For big boys Uni T. I would avoid protube or glistco cause magnetic only gunstocks will detach at the least wanted moment. For a first stock, try something that won't require a lot of learning but has some adjustments so you won't be left with one setup like with amazon gunstocks.

I mean ultistock can be adjusted but exostock has the setups that actually mean something.

So you've hacked it 😄 this velcro thing is going on your waste and then it works as kind of a clip. At least what I saw on the video on etsy. You have hacked the cheek rest to be a holster under the arm pit. It kind of genius. It's way faster than what he shows in his holstering. And it looks seamless. I actually had something similar in mind. To holster it at the arm. This hack Is brilliant man.

one part of the velcro goes on the waste, the other on is on the stock. He needs to hold it with the second hand for it to stay on the spot.

as for advantages in real play. I learned how to throw my nades with the othyer hand mainly because i had a flashbang faze. So i practiced the second hand nades. But youll never be as accurate and confident while trowing with the second hand.

Ultistock is light so its probably better, but as a challenge, i wonder how it would go. This is how i throw now. With the dominant hand after leaving the stock on a holster and then i regrab the stock. With one hand. and without opening my palm, pressing buttons or grabbing halfcups. I had to push the slider on the clip that ive sent you. on uni t its automatic. crazy shit 🙂

your holstering is a hack, so it could be more thought out. I mean Brando did not design that move. Its a cool move but i can see it might be tricky when there is heat. But thats the problem with holsters. they need to be thought out the way, so player can use them in the heat.

Protube VR has a shop in my city (the only one) so i figure they're actually French and the brand is like 10km from my home I gotta say the Protube is awesome, bought it yesterday to a guy in my town and got it for 90 euros with the strap, i think it's on sale on their website for 109 euros without the straps

took me 1 hour to get used to it and now it feels pretty natural to use

magnet are strong everything is steady and customisable

that was my birthday present 😄
