PC VR via airlink on Quest
Hmmm.. tempting then, eBay has lots of bhaptics for an ok price.
All stocks have fan boys ... me personally I prefer a non magnet stock in the 3daptive Magnus R... I have used magni+ from Glistco.. it is a good stock but the magnets although strong required to much tightening to stay solid on the tube and my connectors cracked ... Protube has a huge following but I also watch alot of users of that stock struggle to reconnect magnets... at the end of the day buy one use it and make your own call ... I have to contact the maker of the Magnis R to see if he can adapt to index controllers cause currently only supports meta and HTC products. Hope this helps.
just a heads up as another 3d printer hobbyist. id do some digging into different material properties if i were you. petg has been hailed as stronger than pla/pla+ for a long time now but if you look into some testing done by people like cnc kitchen or others that doesnt seem to hold up well in practice, especially with impact resistance which is the main force youd need to work about witha vr gunstock. idk local filament prices near you but some home testing or research with whatever filament brands you use might make it possible for you to find a cheaper option with the same or better strength to either increase your margins or lower consumer cost
by the impact resistance thing i mean from the testing ive seen petg has a very negligable edge that doesnt seem worth the trade off that is how harsh it fails when it does fail. i was honestly kind of surprised the differences were so small
https://youtu.be/ycGDR752fT0 @faint wigeon cnc kitchen is so well known in the community you may have already seen this but he did some light testing already if youre interested in that kind of stuff. good looking stock by the way
Which 3D printing material is best for your application? I tested PRUSAMENT PLA, PETG and ASA to see how the perform in the categories: Price, Printability, Printing Quality, Static Strength and Layer Adhesion, Ductility, Stiffness, Impact Resistance and Thermal Resistance.
Let's find out how the materials perform and when you should use which!
...
I appreciate the insight! However CNC kitchens tests are using hydraulic machines for absolutely extreme tests. I've been abusing the same stock daily for months without any wear.
There's not enough force being exerted on my stock to warrant any issues or concerns with part failure.
Also I print on slow speeds with zero fans to allow the PETG to bond even stronger.
i know and thats what i mean, i assume youre printing high heat and likely in enclosures. if you end up expanding your business thats extra stuff to do for every printer you add to your farm, for the product you make and the sort of stress its exposed to it might not be worth the trouble of using petg over a decent brand pla+ thats likely not going to be noticably weaker excluding temp resistance
Im a big fan of PETG personally, I used to make airsoft grenades printed in PETG (with a PVC body) and their main use was being abused and thrown around an indoor warehouse field, with a concrete floor.
I never had an issue, the PETG was strong as a rock.
fair, if it works for you it works for you either way you have something special as a stock design man its an impressive idea. hopefully clones dont pop up too soon
Does anyone use a Sanlaki gunstock on GoT? and can help me get it set up? (:
@kindred narwhal just say your broke
Why would i buy something i can make outta things from home depot
Also virtual stocks are literally for the weak armed
Arms meanin limbs not weapons
@kindred narwhal but professionals use them make that make sense
Professionals?
@kindred narwhal any pro league tournaments fps wise use vr gunstocks
@kindred narwhal the back hand sway is a mf
Ah yes cod mw2019
@kindred narwhal pavlov tourneys shit like that
Press it against your cheek and get back to me
@kindred narwhal I been doing that
@kindred narwhal but I just ordered a magni stock pro plus
Weak arms lead to unsteady aim in a vr game so they would need a virtual stock so in turn virtual stocks are for the weak
@kindred narwhal I work like 50 hrs a week im drained physically from hard labor my arms gonna shake a little
So meaning your arms are weak due to fatigue
@kindred narwhal guess that would be hitting the nail on the head
So meaning a person who only uses it when their arms are weak
@kindred narwhal yes but don't buy this cheesy dudes plastic pos
So virtual stocks help alot when you have rather weak arms
@kindred narwhal like your holding a real gun so to speak no sway at all
So a gunstock would be needed to stabilize a rifle in vr if your arms are too weak to stay stable
@kindred narwhal plus a cheek pad too so that sniping hella easier
So virtual stocks are for the weak
@kindred narwhal lmao just be broke then and cry about it
Why would i buy something that i both dont and can easily go to home depot to make
I aint broke im cheap
@kindred narwhal harder than you think got to mold the controllers so that they will mount to it
I dont need it since i dont got weak ass arms
@kindred narwhal get off your lazy ass and work harder all I can say man
So i have work harder to make my arms weaker so that i need to waste my money on something i didnt need in the first place
@kindred narwhal when you got money to waste why not try to improve your vr fps experience
@kindred narwhal ight keep letting these people with vr stocks wipe their ass with you
Well in pavlov id beg to differ
@kindred narwhal I aint too bad with just my controllers but this stock sheesh instant aim difference
Yeah if i need to be accurate i just sit or stand
Still hit em though
I mainly play fast paced low risk games
Contractors, onward, pavlov, etc
@kindred narwhal I been playing with just controllers and then I got a wild hair up my ass and bout a gunstock
If u want to play some pavlov then add scarletking1 on oculus
Nickname is holy fk theres bees
Im open to a challenge
@kindred narwhal I got you later
bro @'s someone to reply š
do you have the old discord or smth
thanks š
No problem...Good luck finding a Stock that you enjoy

Take your VR gaming experience to a whole new level, there when you need it, out of the way when you don't.
wait wtf how do u think of that
Lol the VR gunstock market as been pretty copy & paste for many years in terms of designs. I wanted something different that gives you the added stability and control of a gunstock, while not sacrificing on mobility or speed. Thus, the Freedomstock was born
Any1s calibration for certain guns and guns that have sights so off for your gun stock?
@remote tiger what 3d printer do you have. Iām in the market for one and want to know what people generally use. Iām looking at the Ender 3 v2 neo or the Ender 3 max neo
honeslty i got the standard ender 3
still up there in the average consumer grade printers.
If you want to just print without worrying about upgrades (it's an already upgraded V2), go with the 3 Neo, if your okay with upgrading and you wanna save $20-40 and do the upgrades yourself, go with the 3 V2.
I personally have two Ender 3 v2's and just did the upgrades myself.
Yeah I think Iām set on the v2 neo
Itās on sale rn for 270 usd
Any one having gun angle issues after last patch i feel all guns are angeled more to my chest than shoulder messes with my aim
@faint wigeon Can you tell me about the headphone setup you have on your Q2 in your video above
I'm looking to do something for my Q2 that's integrated
ik you didnt ask me but i can not recomend these enough
Skullcandy Crusher Evo
when playing games the bass in them shakes your head and the gunshots feel so good
Appreciate the recco but I'd like something I can integrate into the strap
fair enough wum into the strap? ohhh i see
Watch cheesy's video above and look at his headphone setup
nvm
I feel like I bought a Istock ripoff
Pics?
Congratulations!
I'm unsure of what stock you have, so here's my schpiel for the one I like.
First thing to figure is if you want your primary weapon to be perfect or if you want a general use thing.
Either way, set whatever your cheek rest is to its lowest position, align your trigger hand to the gun. Then align your forehand to where the model is. Then set your cheek rest to your preferred weld. Try it from standing, standing with sling engaged, kneeling, sitting, and prone. The different positions alter the geometry of your body and thus will change how you interact with the stock.
Then give it a try with all the others of the same class and see if anything needs to be altered. The good news is that guns are made for people. Basically all modern guns are within two inches of length of pull and the distance between hands. So you can get it set for every gun, or just the one you want, and the differences will be small.
I'm unsure of your shooting pedigree, but there's tradeoffs in stock setup we can talk about. For most people, you want a relatively low weld and completely upright head.
I'd recommend setting up your standard standing shooting position, closing your eyes, level your rifle to horizontal, opening your eyes, and fine tuning that way.
Cool thanks
Have you seen the anycubic kobra 2? It looks sick with those fast print speeds
It's these Kiwi ear muffs. Great for amplifying to sound without putting in headphones. I need to hear my surroundings but also wanted the audio to be louder.
KIWI design Silicone Ear Muffs... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085S2LYZN?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It does look pretty nice! The one that's really caught my attention is the AnkerMake M5, talk about sexy with all the bells and whistles š«£
Haha yah that thing looks like itās straight out of a s sci-fi movie! If budget werenāt a question I would own it rn, but for now the anycubic will be my next printerš
Hey with your ender 3 upgrades what do you have your print speeds up to?
So with protube does anyone else have issues keeping the controllers connected
No, I can have one controller connected and shake it and it stays
The magnets are absurdly powerful
it keeps disconnecting from my headset
Your headset?
So while in games it disconnects from my headset and it gets me killed every now and then bc i can move my hands
What headset?
oculus
That doesnāt narrow it down in the slightest
sorry rage but its quest 2
Iāve used an index, quest 1, vive, vive pro and cv1 extensively with a protube and had no issues
the problem is i didnt have this issue with my old gunstock
Thatās pretty bizzare, have you compared how the cups line up? Perhaps you have it too close and you are losing tracking
Thatās about the only thing I could think of
im gonna try replacing my batteries and see if that fixes it
@royal wagon i do have a question tho can i dm u?
Exactly, if only budget wasn't an issue haha. I print slow and hot for the strongest PETG bond. My speeds set to 40
Appreciate that. I'll take a look
Hear me out chatā¦
Think I found the butt to my mamut stock for the sks
Js maybe garage sale red riders could be low key op for gunstocks
The tomahawk is really cool but costs an ubsurd amount tbh, the freedomstock is a really nice price and essentially is very similar, therefore I just bought the freedomstock and am looking forward to it.
That's the beauty of the market, there is a stock for everyone and especially the one person teams, these things are made with love and passion for the hobby. So pick the one that takes your fancy.
my mamut is setup pretty similar to yours lol
At least the basic idea of it
Damn
Lol I didn't know they looked like this bro that looks like the setup to my olympic style target rifle ahahaha
I may be alittle bias, however, Ide say you made the right choice haha. Thank you!
Im loving mine too
I have yet to find better on the market for a reasonable price
Is getting a gunstock worth it (aim-wise) and if so where and what kind should I get
i would highly recomend one
i sell mine for 32.99 dm if you are interested @viscid pulsar @empty swift
this is one of the guys that bought mine
It seems that it immensely betters aim, if you are looking for one around 70 dollars the freedomstock looks really good. It all depends on price and preferances.
for 5$ more i would get the freedomstock v2
Virtual stocks are for those of weak arms
Oh no there is no v1 or v2 lol, its just Freedomstock (v2 has replaced v1 entirely and v1 isn't offered anymore as of a month ago).
gotchaaaa
Bro I need to toss pads on the end pieces like that. Good idea man
anyone know a good gunstock for cv1 controllers?
Idk if mamut still has the cv1 cups on stock but Iād imagine them or Protube would be your best bet, that way if you go get a different headset you can buy the controller adapters and not a whole new gun stock
wat woud you guys recemend for a budget
anyone uk based want to buy my sidewinder? Is it ok to ask this here?
only reason I'm selling is now use the Tomahawk 100% of the time, so its sitting unused.
DM me if you are interested.
It was my go to stock before I got my TH, but...its less than half the price, so it might be right for someone else.
Im selling it for cost price plus shipping, but you dont have to wait for 6-7 weeks.
so 50 quid plus I think about 10 quid shipping if you are UK based.
Iām having trouble calibrating my gunstock, it wonāt let me grab the gun with both controllers
dont use gunstock calabration rn it sucks ass thats just my advice. its to early in development
So basically gunstocks arenāt very usable At the moment?
they are useable. gunstock calabration is not
i use my gunstock just fine wihtout it sure some guns are tilted different but i can make do
I mean yea itās usable but I canāt really aim down my sights. More like Iām playing CSGO
adjust your tilt offest
What setting do you have it at? Iāll try it from there
quest 2?
Yes
for ar's i got 63
Where is that setting? I donāt even see it
if i remember correctly its like axis tilt setting or controler tilt setting
its not in gunstock calabrtaion its on the settings menu
Yea I donāt see anything like that in settings
let me check
Grip threshold, dead zones those are the closest to it
no its below that
All I see is movement multiplier and scrolling speed
Are you plugged into PC? Wondering if itās a different setting for that.
let me boot the game
Cause I know the setting you mean, I use that on Breachers to calibrate
That setting is gone since a couple of months
no way i used it like 3 days ago
Are you sure i havent found it since some update in march
nah i used it right after gunstock calabraiton
I fixed all my alignment issues with it, one day it was just gone
On quest standalone?
It was in standalone before⦠not anymore too bad they removed it
ahhhh
Ah so I just gotta plug it into my pc
Thatās what I figured, Iāll test it later then. Thanks
Why you not using it anymore ? What you get the th instead
I now use the tomahawk.
It's a kickass stock but the tomahawk also lets me do two hand melee and stuff.
Wish you would have told me sooner. Mines just come today haha just seen the th it's stunning
need help. i calibrated my smg which the mp5 is nice but now if i pick up certian smgs i cant aim for crap with it
Just done the same haha few people are saying don't calibrate them yet. I am tempted to just reset them. Noticed mine are all a little high aim
got the tomahawk recently and noticed the folding stock when fully extended sort of overextends and bows outward. is that intentional? it seems to line up correctly in contractors but in tabor a lot of guns seem to be tilted to the left
Sounds like a common problem with all gun stocks at the min. I am sure they will fix it soon š my sidewinder points a little up. I have been playing with the settings. But we will see after the next update.
mamut does not anymore, theyre discontinued
Generally don't like mamut stocks
Need a good gunstockā¦any recommendations/

Controllers, Budget and part of the world?
Hey I know this is a big ask but can you guys follow me on TikTok lilflauta_
I'm going to start making content on wipe day
ā¦. This is a chat for gunstocks not promotion dude
Sooo..... I use the tomohawk gunstock and im finnaly working out the configurations for all the gun calibrations but I've ran into an offsset bug which I have demonstrated in this video. (ps. I didnt know my mic was working so I couldve just talked the whole time sorry for the breathing lul)
File is too big and im broke for nitro so here is an imgur link: https://imgur.com/QaqBhrT
R.I.P.. the major flaw of the Tomahawk is that there's no adjustability, no adjusting pitch or angles of your controllers at all, it relies solely on in game calibration if the stocks aim is off.
Which is super unfortunate for the price you paid for it.
so waht do you recomind
Just gotta wait it out until they fix the stock calibration in Tabor
ahh okay okay thank you so much @faint wigeon
Iām finding that the SKS and especially the vector are the worst for gunstocks, Iām curious if anyone else agrees and what stock are you using?
Have you ever used one?
For good Mamut VR and Protube for everything else everyone has bias based one what they have
It was my first stock.
Not a good design, and generally awful for index
Bowk
Hmm I use one, then again I donāt have index issues, heard that bottom mounts are hard to use on it
Neither top or bottom mounts were good and displaced the controllers horizontally. Stock was fragile, joints relied purely on tension, whole thing had very little rigidity, and the magnet mounts were not good.
I broke three joints with ordinary use over time, and was greatly dissatisfied.
Yeah I have zero issues with mine, did you have the apto 3?
If anyone has ever thought about buying a vr gunstock this is the time! Get 20% off of everything in store using code āGECKOSTOCKDISCOUNTā at (https://www.etsy.com/shop/KioMaestroVR?coupon=GECKOSTOCKDISCOUNT)
How many different stocks have you actually used?
Yeah, I had the apto. Have you felt how much wiggle there is just in the controller mounts?
I have zero wiggle in any of my mounts, Iāve used a Protube mamut glistco and the olen vr stock
Mamut is easily my favorite
All metal contsruction adjustable everywhere
Holds well. Zero issues.
Credit to them as a company, their customer service always treated me well.
But fundamentally I do not like their stock design. There is inherent flex in every piece of it, and I got very tired of the spontaneous disassembly. I don't like to yuck on what people enjoy too much, but it is not a stock made for precision, to be really drawn into your shoulder, or to get any tension on a 2 point sling with.
Their design intent, echoed by protube (although I don't have the first hand experience there), was to go for the most widely adaptable stock they could, and that's what they made.
Don't tell me you haven't experienced a gun that almost fits your stock setup and just flexed it to fit for a shot.
I prefer my stock, which I got for slightly less than half the cost of the mamut, which has my controllers in line, has the stiffness and durability, and works for 90% as many guns. The only times I have ever been unable to use it are for guns without pistol grips.
I just donāt have those issues, the only game where I canāt use some guns is ghosts of tabor. Especially with how my mamut is setup thereās absolutely no flex and itās incredibly stiff. The only wiggle is where the adjustable buttstock and cheek rest is. Just that little spot because the two screws used.
Just with how the magnets are set up it's pretty much unavoidable that there is flex. You physically cannot draw in with those magnets. Even the video on their own website with Yorick? He admits that. The mounts, at least every single mount I've seen, are on levers and those magnet mounts are not made for tension.
But however folks do that works for them.
I seriously have no flex in mine, if thereās flex itās not noticeable at all.
I'm not here to argue.
But that's not my experience. Nor is that reflected in the material put out by the company itself.
Night.
have they made gunstock calibration better since the initial attempt?
My third stock is my favorite only thing bad about it .... they don't have it for index
https://www.etsy.com/listing/911983863/3daptive-modus-r-vr-gunstock-quest-2-pro
Rigid adjustable and best of all... no magnets... can pull this sucker hard !
How did you get the Bawk so cheap?
Anyone use the sanlaki stock? Is it worth printing
Yes I agree
looks overcomplicated lol
using a generic gunstock i can't use the sks whatsoever, for me it aims too high with my stock
I printed it awhile ago and sadly it was almost useless for me. I think itās because the metal tubes it uses block the infrared coming off of the controllers
But I just tried out the V.S.T.O.C.K. From thingiverse and it worked much better
Likewise. I have tried calibrating slightly. But I didn't think it might move the calibration on the other guns š¤
Anyone else using the tomahawk stock and has major issues since the introduktion of gunstock calibration, the weapon is angeled towards center chest making it really hard to aim
Think it's all stocks
Ok so its not just me like the rifle but i angeƶed towards the center of my chest making the gun barrel point a little to much to the right
At the time I got mine they were 70$ + shipping, while the apto 3 is 190.
Bowk sent me a full replacement and upgrade after my first invert marksman broke (non-catastrophically) after about two years of use.
But if you want it cheap, he makes a DIY kit for 20$ and all you'd need is some delrin rods, a drill, and screws.
have they made gunstock calibration better since the initial attempt?
Yeah thanks, just nvm
Not that I've felt, but I haven't had most of the issues folks are talking about. Honestly if I did, I probably would just not use it
that's my issue honestly, I stopped playing because I couldn't get my calibration to stick and my AK just ended up pointing at the ceiling
I've honestly been having trouble getting calibration to "stick" with the compass, the screen effects, and with height. Stocks seem to be doing ok for me though
Yeah the compass and screen effects adjustments not sticking has been an issue since the alpha testing. I remember this specifically because it was the first thing I would fix every time I booted the game.. then one day I just gave up trying and had to learn to live with it lol
I stream (extremely small time) and every time I load into a raid I have to fix it or my viewers get a red line down the middle of their view. It's pretty distracting and bad looking.
Yeah its pretty annoying for sure, I dont stream but I still get frustrated with it.
The crazy hand angles just changing whenever you use your watch (or wrist pad back then), or changing a setting, has seems to have gotten better. Although they still like to randomly shoot up to 90 degs randomly lol
Did you also have the thing where you enabled gunstock calibration, and suddenly when you grab a mag it's as if you cranked your wrist as far left as it would go?
No Ive surprisingly had very little issues with calibration, which seems to make me the outlier because sounds like most people are having a terrible time.
Whatās a pretty cheap stock for quest thatās good?
Can some one send me the link for the tomahawk 3 in 1 gunstock please
has anyone got any reviews for this? (https://www.etsy.com/shop/KioMaestroVR?coupon=GECKOSTOCKDISCOUNT)
specifically the minimal version
Show off š š¤£
If 5 screws is complicated you are in the wrong chat
if you using "chat" unironically, you need clinical support
regardless of the 5 screws or lego assembly idc lmao, it's about having a random ass controller grip in the middle, a useless bipod, a weird backstock function
and then also making the controller angle adjustable as well as the stock tube angle adjustable is just need less
Define your budget
50-80
My recommendation is the bowk stock. If you want it cheap, get a DIY marksman kit, spend 5$ on 18mm or 3/4" delrin rods at your local hardware store, and put it together for ~30 bucks spent.
Someone here will recommend the tomahawk, and so on.
There should probably be a list of manufacturers we can copy paste, this is such a common thing
Anyone have Gun stocks recommendations cuz im trying to convince my parents to buy one for me but I can only find like a 70 dollars one I need a decent one for a fair amount on Amazon or any website
you got a 3d printer?
Sadly no my brother had one but he moved and had to sell it cuz he couldnāt take it home cuz it was his works 3d printer
ah. cheapest way thats still good is probably pvc. i made my original one out of a single tube of i think 2in, combined with two 45 degree T (not called a T, ill attach screenshot) fittings for the controllers to sit in, then three 90 degree fittings to form the stock. for the controller fittings, it kinda depends on what controllers you have. ill draw a quick mockup
Okay thanks I will ask my dad for help and Iām hoping to get him to say yes and cuz he doesnāt know anything abt vr
should as its quite simple. heres a horrible drawing, black is pipe, red is those fitting i screenshotted above, and blue are 90 degree fittings. it would be better to replace the one i marked with green with a T and add another 90 degree fitting to the loose end of the stock (far left) so it conencts back into itself to be stronger and stay in place
No sure if you have used any stock besides the "istock" but this stock literally has the exact same adjustment as the most popular magnet stocks I.E. protube... magni+ and Mammut... but the plus is this stock is not subject to magnet joint failure from hand to shoulder force...
Your judgemental post clearly illustrates you glanced at the pages still photo made some uneducated guesses and assumptions that would have easily been answered had you clicked the link and watched the product demonstration video
Do I care if you purchase it ... nope ... I do care that you blindly discredit a product without proper research.
I have the Modus R, it's my second favorite of my gunstocks.
what is your first
Freedomstock VR. It does the same stuff, but with no sling or 4th point of contact (i've gotten used to not needing both). It's about the same price.
it looks almost janky in the videos no offense to cheese man, does it feel solid?
Yeah, it's rock solid imo. PETG works great, feels like it wont' break if handled roughly. I'll be editing up a video and putting it out sometime soon on it. I'll ping you when i finish it
i actually may buy a stock rn
yea no i can attest petg is quite strong when printed correctly. i talked to cheezy myself and hte way he prints it is spot on
hes got a quality product
Whatās a good budget stock between 50-100
freedom
it also looks kinda uncomfortable with that almost nonexistent stock
tbh you dont really need much
jsut something to be there. if you find yourself really pulling it into your shoulder might not be the best but for typical users i think it would be fine
i sell mine for 32.99 but im taking a break from selling for ab a week to get a new model produced but if you are interested in that hit me up and i can show you the design
Yo I use OLENVR stock. The Spine. What headset do you use?
Anyone else calibration way off? I calibrate then when I finally can get my front hand on the gun it changes the entire positionā¦.We need to be able to calibrate holding the guns with two hands. I position the gun where I need it and I look at how Iām holding. The stock and itās pointed straight up toward the ceiling.
I turned physical stock calibration off for crash testing but they do need to look at left hand rotation at some point.... personally it's a fine game with calibration on the back burner. The crashing issue plagues to many users to not be at the top of the dev list
Is gunstock calibration NOT for physical gunstocks?
hey man! no need to be so bothered about the opinion of some random guy online. never said it was bad! just said it was overly complicated, i did not make a single assumption that was uneducated, i did not reference anything that i could only reference with in person knowledge, i just noted excess of details on the stock which i don't think is very useful :)
The problem is ... it's not even complicated.. it's a ultra simple design I even let my landlords 8 year old look at it and he figured out the adjustments without instructions... this tells me you looked at the picture and made an uneducated opinion.
The protube literally has more complications to it's design lol
It is they just havenāt implemented it properly, give it time they know about the issues.
Thanks dude
I actually love the way that looks but not a fan of the no magnets, I might pick one up soon, thanks for showing me
Can you send a pic? Iām curious
Oh wait itās the modus lol
Also my mamut is actually way more complex than that stock and a little kid could figure it out
Right! That's what I am saying... the design is so simple a cave man could do it....
Should I get an istock
The real question should be ... what end result do I need from the stock ... then look for stocks that fit that.
That's a really good way to put it.
This chat should come up with a matrix of stocks by purpose sometime.
Stocks come from super simple "istock" to ultra complex "mammut" and much in between... the end result being what does the end user need to achieve with the stock they purchase
Me personally as a IRL gun user .. magnets didn't allow me that natural firm shoulder seat without joint failure so I went with the Magnus R so I could pull hard into my cup... other folks might not have that level of background to a light should feel is all they need... I do not endorse any stock but I do like to make sure the stocks I talk about are well explained and allow the individual to choose thier preferences
Another thing to consider is what headset you use... currently I have a Quest 2 ... but am changing to the index ... Magnus R currently does not support index knuckles .. so I'll have to either communicate with the maker or find a new stock
I've said this ad nauseum, but for a very similar reason to your Magnus I use a bowk invert marksman on my index.
Could you share a website so I can take a look @icy cobalt
https://www.bowkvr.com/shop/p/invert-marksman
If you give Bowk a ring here on discord odds are good he'll make small alterations for you as well. I got a custom color and a few customer suggestions have been incorporated over time.
Can also attest to the dude's customer service. My first gen stock's connectors started cracking after 2 years of use, and he sent me a brand new stock at no charge.
This is the BowkVR gunstock designed for the tube on top. It is available for both Valve Index, Quest 2, and PSVR2 controllers. CORE Key Features: Rail engagement system - allowing quick disconnect/reconnect from the stock without compromising shoulder pull. Just bring the controller onto the tu
I'm a big believer in the thing. Grew out of the Onward scene, where Bowk made these for team Mayhem, perennial team 1-3 in the world, and then started selling them elsewhere.
Nice.. the over the top doesn't effect index the way it can with quest tracking
I've got 3 lighthouses pointed down at 45 degree angles from the corners of the room. 0 issue.
Nice... I am starting with 2 but hear adding the third one is smooth
I found it necessary for close in work, like pistols from retention or bullpup reloads
Good information thanks
Itās here! š Sanlaki full stock
Does anyone know a Good beginner Gun stock? Price range (70- 100$)
What features are you looking for? What headset do you use? How do you want the controllers to attach? How many points of contact do you want (each hand is 1, your shoulder would be a third)?
I play on Quest 2 , Im looking for a begginer VR Stock That You can make the stock longer By a slide. (Like if your using a longer Gun) , And im not very much sure about how much contact I want.
I just got magnistock
Go look at Bowk, magnistock, tomahawk, mamut, and protube, and figure out exactly what features you want.
Cheek weld? Shoulder stock? Do you want to be able to use a 2 point sling? Do you have firearms experience that color what you want?
Every stock is good at something.
I like bowk, but it seems like everyone here likes their own individual stocks.
I'll prolly try a Bowk when I go to index
Is it worth is to get a stock, it feels weird pulling the āstockā in game through my shoulders
hmu in like a week and ill let u know
ùù
hey I just got a protube and just wondering so do I use the allen key to adjust it to MY comfort then calibrate through game? sorry probs dumb question
Is there calibrating now?!?!!
yes
yes but its no good in my personal opinion.
it has no ability to use front hand its only bassed on back hand.
it fucks up your hand tilt after calabraition so you cant grab anything
no not really
Do they plan to fix it?
im sure
is it worth buying a stock?
and is there a spacific one? can i get a link to the amazon page?
If you get some skill you wonāt need it
Why are you bashing people who would prefer a stock?
Some peoples hands shake and a stock would help solve that issue..
Seems like an unnecessary comment
Iām just joking man
Itās the truth tho
New people with zero hours of vr shooters may find using a gun stock more beneficial
Yea I might actually get one
My hands are very skaky
Aiming with a stock is legitimately better for long range fights, they don't matter much for short range but you have an advantage over distance without a doubt
^^^
Yeah I was just joking I have nothing against stocks
Iām thinking either a glistco or a protube
I heard https://www.olenvr.com/vr-gun-stock-accessories/spine-full-kit-vr-gunstock is a good one

Gotta take off the top rail for it to be viable in GoT though
@graceful flint Protube is THE brand to be honest, or Mamut. if you are spending top dollar
Is that possible?
Yeah, the 3D printed top slides off but you can't attach a sling to it then unless the altered the design
Damn
Yea Iāve heard some good stuff on the protube
Looks like they changed the design, that's good
Looking into mamut now
Good
The sling is one of the reasons Iām probably going to get it so good thing they did that
Pretty much all stocks use a sling
Why'd parzalai send me here
I didnāt know that
He was showing @sharp hamlet where to go
The mamut is 10k š
DAMN
Thatās a down payment to a car š
Where do you go from injection molding when the rest of the gunstock-scene still 3D prints their stuff? Very nice price thatās why
Welcome to premium stocks

Still reasonable
Always the mfs named Connor š
Yeah, I'm getting a cheapo one from Amazon tommorow just to try and see if i like Stock life for sure, I have used them but not consistently. If i like it it i'll be returning it and upgrading to the Mamut most likely
What are you talking about?
Your names Connor no?
Who are you?
Jason
and No...No it isn't lol.
Iām kidding Iām mark zuckabug Iām the one who makes your barrier shift
ok
Which one from Amazon? I may do the same route. Figure out if I even like stocks

Would this product do fine?
Magnistocks have a good reputation AFAIK
Thanks for the info!
The reviews say poorly 3D printed parts and others say itās great so itās really mixed reviews. Customer supports is good also based on reviews for replacement parts so for the price Iād say itās good
I may get that too based on the reviews. Then return and upgrade
Cool, I am going to grab one for my Pavlov and GOT sessions I use to have a aim stick with my PSVR an it was Great
Or if I really like it just keep it. Iām only an occasional player
I want one like the guns but the controllers are in the bottom? Does that effect placement in the headset ?
Not sure honestly
@modest hollow hey why would he have to take the top slide off the spine Stock?
From what i have heard it causes issues with interacting with some of the weapons when trying to add attachments and such. Maybe that can be bypassed with the gun stock cal now though.
Not a fan of the idea of bottom mounted controllers to be honest, The Q2s IR tracking lights are in the controller
Plus I mean, all that excess 3D material does is make you look "cooler" to people watching you lol. You don't ever see it yourself in game
anyone got cheaper but still reliable options for htc vive pro controllers, under 150 preferably
I have this one. 10/10 so far
yea if you are wanting to get jsut a good stock and not pay a mint. do yourself a favor and dont even look at the coolness aspect it serves 0 purpose. get you something that is well built and does the job
@kindred tartan
Sup
With the magnistock+ i just got one and my right hand is at the front but it still wobbles upside down and makes me shoot downwards
Sounds like an error with putting it together. The hand holds are left or right handed so you choose where you put them. As for the wobbling, I noticed the stock didnāt come with a wrench for some of the tightening so I had to use one of my own wrenches to tighten it enough. Those are the only fixes I know of
Because no matter where im putting left controller its aiming it down
Even though everything is straight
In GoT?
Yes
While in your safehouse go to settings, then click on calibrate physical gunstock. You can then adjust it so that itās facing how you want it. Also make sure that itās says using physical gunstock is on. Itās normal for it to face downwards at first.
That's why it didn't work i was in tutorial
Yeah, that confused me at first too
Are you responding to my message?
Do I just tighten it alot
Yes, but donāt over tighten it. Itās possible it will snap/crack.
K
@kindred tartan nah just in general
Aight
@kindred tartan I sent I a dm
for what stock?
Magnistock+
i have istock and it cracked since i tightened it to much ig
if i dont then it offsets
I would defo recommend the kobravr sidewinder. Cheap also.
All I do to calibrate My guns is turn off virtual gun stock. And Evan turn off physical gun stock. Seems to ve pointing pretty much straight now.
IYO how is the quality?
Very good imo
In GoT
Yes, whenever I choose Iām using a physical stock, there are no options to calibrate my guns
If you look in settings in the safehouse there is a separate button you have to click
Iāll check again in a few but Iām pretty sure I didnāt see it. Is it in the menu or in the setting menu?
Settings menu
Not yet. Unfortunately.
It works. It just sucks.
@remote tiger check dms
does standalone not have the calibrate gunstock option?
Not sure, I couldnāt find it but Iām also playing it on my laptop with link cable
What kind of laptop is that?
Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58-525P Gaming Laptop | Intel Core i5-12500H | GeForce RTX 3050 | 15.6" FHD 144Hz IPS | 8GB DDR4 | 512GB SSD | Killer Wi-Fi 6 Nitro 15.6" Backpack https://a.co/d/iQpLXE5
Hereās the one I personally use
Anyone has this one or has used it? I'm looking for a good stock for the pro controllers
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1341296946/kobra-maglock-quest-pro-gunstock-with
what gun stock would be best for someone on a budget and left handed?
like less than 100 bucks, 150 at most. if im honest idk the prices of what a good stock would cost
freedom stock
bro you gotta rep yourself somešš
i def would but im currently not selling. i got my V2.3.0 coming out in a few days to a week and i wana get that just right before i begin taking some orders @old storm
@thorny temple i sell mine for 32.99 if you are interested in thatsend me a dm

the quest stock is

thats just me though

So is the skol vr that sells the tama hawk gun stock legit or what because I am about to buy one
It's a real product, I have one. I'd suggest the Mamut or Protube instead for that kinda money tho.
āØ
Yeah but the problem I have with the mamut is that it looks very confusing to adjust
And Iām looking for more easy adjust ment
The question I do have is, itās it worth it?
any updates on the calibration system?
I had the mamut. I consider the bowk a huge upgrade. Different strokes and all, but I was not impressed on index
Bowk
Check #1112699122189873254 and #š¢ć»announcements for new code releases, thatās the only way a change would happen

Facts
My current stock. .5in pvc with noob toob 3d printed parts. Took a while to get used to and I mostly only use it on island. But it works like a charm now that I'm used to it and I love it
I think my picture was removed or something, not showing up on my phone
Nicely done mate, I do love to see a good home build.
Have you considered a delrin rod or similar instead of the PVC for this application?
I'm thinking it would be chill to put together a brief list of stock manufacturers, price ranges, and what that stock is good at. Other mamut people, tell me if I'm being unfair to the thing.
Would ya'll write something similar to this for the stocks you all have used first hand? If we get a good summary going we can just reference it when someone asks for a stock recommendation for the tenth time that day.
Bowk VR: 70-100$ range, 25-30$ DIY kit. Good for drawing into your shoulder and longer distance shooting. Supports functional use of 1 and 2 point slings. Adjustability range: Physically mirrors AK5C, M4, M16A1, AKM dimensions. Usable for most pistol grip rifles without calibration. 220 grams.
Included accessories: sling.
Stiffness: 9/10, several millimeters of flex in the controller joints.
Ease of use: 4/10, narrow attachment slots and no magnets require practice and are fumble points
Customer support: 8/10, Bowk is a one man band, so occassionally timetables get a little long, but he's been fair in his dealings.
Mamut: 189$, Mix and match DIY pieces from 12-40$ when available. Infinitely adjustable, the latest generation oozes a quality feel with metal parts and carbon fiber. Supports functional use of 1 point slings. Index users, top controller mounts are asymmetrical, requiring canting or rotation of controllers off center line to maintain feel and cheek weld.
Adjustability range: Infinite given enough time. Quick adjust range depends on setup, but roughly 3 inches vertically with common setups.
Included accessories: none
Stiffness: 5/10. Magnetic attach design prevents drawing of stock into the shoulder, sling tension, or similar shooting aids.
Ease of use: 9/10. Once built, the mamut's magnets are powerful and extremely easy to clip into.
Customer support: 10/10, responding quickly and effectively to broken parts or problems.
really like this one, I have been using it for a year and a half now.
Ita brilliant. Simple and works brilliant
Anyone know any cheaper gun stocks (AUD)?
@ me
this the protube?
Yes
am i right in saying the red circles are all adjustment points? in you're personal experience, if you put alot of strength into pushing that back stock into your shoulder, do the adjustments points ever move during that? I tend to put a lot of tension into pulling it into my shoulder
Pov: Iām broke š
first, I added three extra points, two move back and forth and one in the back
(also they turn left to right too)
second: yes and no, they can move if you dont screw them hard, but if you do they dont move
wth š
You are. I pull back fairly hard on it, they never budge. I don't fully tighten the middle joint and it lets me click it up or down mid game to adjust for SKS/AK with sights or Vector etc
iām being so dead ass thatās what i use šš
But very stiff, no movement compared to multiple other stocks I've used. I like that I've been able to aim down sights with every gun in Tabor for it with no need for gun calibration
Just put some weights on my gunstock, now its the real deal. š„°
You've piqued my interest with the bowk.. I've just ordered a magni stock + because it has mounts for both index and quest... Plus it's readily available. How easy it to take the controllers off to loot, open doors, etc and then put back on?
Mind writing up your feelings on it similar to the post above yours?
that's pretty dope, why not flip that back stock upside down so that you can get a cheek weld
too high, interferes with the headset too. i got a tiny piece of foam with a shit ton of tape at the end right there, hard to see tho
ahhhh right makes sense, very cool tho
Ay whatever works, I rocked a homemade for a good while when I started
RIGHT!!!
where did you get it?
I legit will just stare at it lol
ye lol that thing is sexy af

gotchu ill def have to buy it
costs more than a couple games in the cart but ehh its worth it ye?
They went on sell before the holidays last year that made it almost 100$
oooh nice
I'd keep an eye out, also I heard in an AMA here that something is in the works to be made that's specific to GoT
Wondering if it's like a special edition GoT stock or something
oh im def gonna have to buy that as well, its gonna bump their sales a shit ton too - very smart to make a gunstock for it
Right! They are a sponsor of the game so makes sense. And the stuff they make as you see is unlike anything else out there rn
Alot of these guns stock companies are impressive, usually only 1 or 2 people running the whole thing. Thank you to all of yall! Making these games way more immersive
As well as helping us be the best player we can be
for real
well you see, it really depends on: if you want to move your left hand back and forth this is not the thing you want in my opinion
but having a perfect place for it on the rail just lock in it will feel amazing in my expierence
see the form above. looking to make a thing we can just link when people ask for stock recommendatons
im too lazy for that kind of stuff
User Gunstock Reviews
Can you show a picture of you holding it for a size comparison
I honestly don't even know what delrin is haha. I jsut used pvc because it's what i could find in the garage xD
Just want this
why
Ok I finally got around to trying the gun stock calibration, and it needs work haha
a gun stock
an sbr according to the GayTF
How important are cheekrests for yāall?
100%. i want the stock to feel real. have weight to it and be able to pull it into me without magnets separating
The magnet thing has been a huge issue for me. You have a stock youāre using rn??
self designed
needs overhauled for better adjustments (pivot in the center and such
gunstock calibration, but cant play in my competetive room rn..... link cable is shot i guess, the area it always gets twisted up behind my head (ive got fpsvr so the cable wind detector) well now if it starts to twist it disconnects...... room is fine, but thats seated, i run an active usb hub out to the standing room and a kiwi tether. lasted 4 months. oh well 20 bucks is 20 bucks.
dont worry, gunstock calibration no workie for most people atm
but this week alone, controller drift to the point of unplayable on both q2 controllers, pedals on my racing sim setup didnt work, t1600m is getting z axis aka twist drift, cable died.... XD
sounds like a valid excuse to start upgrading some stuff without the misses yelling at ya?
ordered a replacement cable, cleaned inside my q2 controllers fixing drift, fixed my pedals, the gear wasnt on the pedal for the potentiometer.... 3 down 1 to go, ill fix the flight stick by shaving the potentiometer housing down cause its a common t16000m issue, the housing is too tight and slowly but surely smushes the sensor. can be relieved by shaving the inside down enough that it doesnt crush it when reassembling.
thats for when i get a proper hotas speed controller, so i can play some elite with voiceattack to talk to my ship like cortana. XD
lol wish i had one, i always end up with hot n crazy, but maybe thats cause im abit mad myself.
aye nice, basically back up and goin already lol
5th for the cable.
but the one in my room is fine and im not really back into the competetive stuff, having alot of fun with my new build.
got a proximat for that room and its like 3mx5m empty.
thats for tabor and clone wars on contractors
intensive usage when you get into some of the competetive stuff, youll ream on the cable constantly.
Looks sick! Is that a legit buttstock?
Iāve been working on this for the past couple weeks
have you considered a pulley system?
i have one, but the issue is getting it twisted behind your head, i do have a cable unwind under my feet, but in the heat of a fight you kind of burn through cables
yes, made a little milspec buffertube to throw anything on it lol. that looks nice! i assume each bolt point is a pivot point you can adjust?
twisting it up too much will eventually wear on the shielding inside causing interference when it twists, or the connectors inside actually touch.
cables*
usb with high bandwidth is extremely sensitive to any cable damage.
official cable sounds nice, but being fiberoptic, its basically fiberglass and can easily be destroyed, and at 80 bucks thats probably not a good idea, rather go 20 bucks a pop when one busts.
yea no, one little kink and bye bye $80 lol
idk if its possible to design a cable that wont break, since oculus needs perfection to maintain link. spinning on your heel taking down full teams of enemies and ducking and weaving and fighting noobs in contractors will destroy your cable XD
basically like cod, but physical.
i mean, look at what cod does to xbox controllers
Might as well add a red dot too since it have the rails for it haha
And for the most part yah, thereās a trade off between rigidity, weight, and bulkyness when it comes to this kind of design with adjustability so Iām trying to find the right balance
might check if fpsvr has an option to make an alert sound when ive twisted it in one direction say over 6 times to avoid this issue
ringing your cable out like a towel is probably the worst strain for the many wires inside
lol if the reverb tracking didnt suck then i could throw some stuff on there. yea. can always go a bit thicker if you have much flex. depending on your printer it might be worth tinkering with easy nylon from overture (decent success with it). that stuff is super rigid
i just want gunstock calibration, and a working cable rn XD.... ive avoided getting into the game until calibration was ready, dont wanna burn out before i can play comfortably
the magtube isnt exactly an on the fly adjustable stock
same. cant even use half the rifles since i cant aim at all with them due to stock. calibration got announced, super exicted then super sad realizing it didnt work lol. hopefully thats a priority
i mean, a whole chat based on it, sponsorships, really should be.
forcetube support, but no calibration to support the forcetube
whats better, having all your guns work when you pick them up, or even if you have a quick adjust stock, having to adjust mid fight when you pickup a new weapon cause you ran out of ammo
Iāll check it out! Iām using Duramic PLA+ which Iāve been loving
that stuffs pretty cheap, i need new spools so i might get one or two!
I would highly recommend! It doesnāt have quite that same cheap plasticky feel that regular PLA does
Anyone know some cheper gunstocks?
Define cheap?
Like 0-40
Yahhh that might be kind of tough, Iād try searching on Etsy for that price range. The cheapest good quality one that I know of is the freedom stock but thatās like $75 I think
oh alright thanks
magtubes the way to go, if you get into intense fights, youll quickly realize just how fragile a gunstock can be, even the solid parts.
you tend to hold it to your shoulder pretty tight and slap the controllers back onto the magnetic mounts pretty agressively.
you WILL break some of those cheaper gunstocks quite easily in the heat of the moment
had to replace a magtube cup because i chipped the part that mounts to the stock before, and those things are hard as rock.
got a free replacement, they have a pretty solid warranty
5 days from ticket to my door
yeah okay
any gunstock you get, get a 2 point sling from say, walmart. absolute nessescity
also better quality than any addon sling you can get for w/e stock it is
I live in Australia no walmart
any place that sells sporting goods
Yeah alright
or online like amazon
Yeah thanks for your help
i adapted a real gun sling with alligator clips
A strap from a duffel bag can work too
that too, or laptop bag
i personally like the stretchy padding over the shoulder, doesnt ream into your neck and give you rope burn
raising and lowering the stock starts to hurt when i used a laptop bag strap
dont trust that 1 point "sling" nonsense, it just makes it oversized bling thats more than likely to give you a good kick in the balls when you drop it XD
how much for one?
It's a high density plastic, your average ace or home depot should have some for real cheap
Is the Istock a good stock?
is anyone else not able to grab anything after calibrating their gunstock?
gunstock calib broken rn
That is a weird bug that happens to me all the time. All you have to do is after calibrating load into the market, then go back to your bunker and you should be able to grab stuff again
This is still a prototype atm, but Iām hoping to have a finished version within a month or 2. If youāre desperate for a stock right a way then DM me and we can work something out
My KobraVR DMR wolverine just came today, Now its time to get serious š
Yeah had to reopen GoT
I've used a piece of mule tape as a sling before switching to no sling at all
You can go to market and back to fix this
anyone know the bind for menu on quest 2, been a while
im launching through steamvr so the menu button on the left controller just opens the steamvr menu
Click and hold down left stick
ilysm man imma give it a shot
Is this just me or should they add a Glock 34
I need help. My gunstock is way off. I really can't use any guns. They all point up. Evan after trying to calibrate
are you using gunstock calibration if so don't. clear all calibrations and play without it i dont find it to be helpful. its too early in development
thats just my prefrence
I play without it and it's worse haha they all just point up
Thank you. I clear them and they all point up a little. Maybe I need to reset all my settings and see again.
If you are not playing stand-alone go into settings and change hand tilt
What a good and affordable magnetic stock for quest 2?
@faint wigeon has one itās magnetic but a different style
Also you got the magnistock(which is on sale right now)
anyone know a good 3d printable stock for quest controllers
@open bramble @minor lintel I sell mine for 32.99 hit me up for info mine are not magnetic however
that makes it even better
Are u saying better with or without magnets
well sadly i dont have 30 bucks rn so i cant buy anyone so that is why i am asking for a 3d model to try it for the first time
@minor lintel oh my apologies I misread your message
nah its aight
thingiverse?
ill check
without. with magnets if your a casual hehe
but i asked here in case anyone knew one that like works well
If u have your own 3d printer hit up thingiverse
I would be cautions with bottom mounted ones. They can interfere with tracking
kk
if you have the ability, literally something as simple as this but add a pivot to the middle so you can adjust for different firearms in game until the calibration system works. this can be as simple as a hole with a bolt and nut in the middle where the sling point is
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4651978
Recently jumped into the Oculus Quest 2 and my old VRGM was not compatible. I researched a few solutions and while they were really good I was just so used to the VRGM and really grew to like having controllers to slot in that stayed stationary but were easy to pull off. This solution was pretty inexpensive since I could get everything I needed ...
ill print that when my printer is set up
I have used the controller mounts from that and they work great
ty for the help
yep. since mines picatinny just download controller holders, cut the bottom off, then run a boolean to the picatinny mount and you now have a new controller holder XD
though i want to ask how you loot when you have a gun stock attached
you just pull the controllers out (this is where you want a sling)
kk
for reference i can drop both controllers out of the stock very quickly, maybe a half second to do something else or switch to handgun, then to put the controllers back in that takes about 2 seconds
Need cheap gunstock any ideas?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8mRzASSs48 @maiden bobcat
https://www.businesscompanyvr.com/gunface
Gunface is a super lightweight and compact VR gunstock. Brace the stock against your headset for super quick sight alignment. The stock also breaks in half down the middle and attach together using strong magnets. The break-action allowing you to reload, use pistols and grenades with ease.
lmao what
best gunstock on the market. waiting for that haptic feedback model
rofl, i've seen that stock. Looks funny af
So best gunstock I can get for this game. Throw out the recommendations, price isnāt an issue but I donāt want a solid gold one haha
what the heck is that stock
Magtube
I may be alittle biased lol, but FreedomStock hands down, especially for Tabor where mobility and speed is key.

got the last one sorry
Iāve looked at the freedom stock and it looks like a good product I donāt see anything wrong with it. I just want something more heavy duty because I am pretty rough with my stocks and stuff so was looking for something metal or carbon fiber
Iām torn between the manmut or the mag tube but I also wanted too see what everyone else thought
And aswell your out of stock haha, I needed something now
Iāve been running stockless and itās been dreadful
Oh understandable! Lol.
If you want "heavy duty" and "metal", then you really can't go wrong with the Mamut Apto, but with it comes a heavy price tag.
https://www.mamutvr.com/products/apto-wasp-base-add-controller-option
Where do you go from injection molding when the rest of the gunstock-scene still 3D prints their stuff? yea i have seen that one that one looks pretty high quality
i havent really heard anything wrong/bad with it
Yeah Iāve really Been thinking about that one, but Iām also worried about fatigue and such because of how heavy duty it actual is you know
yea u gotta find ur sweet spot
And I play like for extremely long sessions
So might just have too get that and another one too swap Mabye, when I need some rest
Yeah I'm not sure the weight but I can see that definitely being something to worry about for long sessions.
There are other users here who own that Apto stock, maby they can chime in and give some feedback on the weight
You heard any bad or good things about these Kobras?
Iāve seen some videos recommend them but I would rather here from real people than a YouTuber you know
the controler is ziptied to it not really the best idea also price is high. you dont need the looks the looks do nothing
ofc i havent used it im just lookin at it
Yeah i saw that so wasnāt sure, I saw a video talk about newer models no longer having the zip tie but havent seen any actual photos on it or of that product just in Video
hmmmm
And I donāt mind spending the 210 bucks it would cost for the mamut since itās so high quality but you know if I buy it and a week in my joints and arms are always sore from the weight it would feel kinda rough
Cause then I would just have too end up buying a whole other one
i think u would get used to it
Yeah I feel so too, itās just the worry of how long until then you know. Iāll probably wait too here from other people who have it before I pull the trigger on that one
and just keep browsing for now or until im super set
Is the consensus too that just bottom mounted stocks are just better, i know thereās some tracking issues with the quest 2 but not with quest pros so
and quest 3 will also hopefully fix that with no more ring
i personally beleive the bottom mounted are worse
depending on how they are made they can interfere with tracking
Wait yeah I worded that wrong I ment like the mount is on the bottom, so like all the ones we were looking at
oh yes i agree with you on that
I just know that the quest pro controllers have no problems with tracking on the ones that are known too have tracking I just wasnāt sure if that was the only issue with them, besides preference
I'm playing stand alone
I havenāt used one but I feel like the big downside is those kinds of stocks is they arenāt as practical for GoT where you gotta have your hands free to loot and such while also pulling up your gun quickly, the idea of having a sling with an empty stock hanging from it while your looting or climbing ladders seems kind of clunky to me. Correct me if Iām wrong
Okay somebody assist my dumbass, is the physical gunstock cal just wonky right now?
its problematic yes
sometimes you cant grab your gun afterwards, and sometimes it doesnt update the angle until you change scenes
I'm sure they will fix it soon as.
Alot of people are moaning about it.... my self included
So hopefully they listen and sort it ASAP:)
Okay cool, glad im not just an idiot lol
I feel the same haha think it's putting alot of people off. I find I calibrate it good. Then when I add attachments it's chucked out of alignment
I am looking for a cheap but durabel gunstok for my quest 2 any advise/recomandations ?
does anyone else find it impossible to calibrate the stock on quest 2? i set it correctly, then pick up the same gun outside of calibration and its comepletly out#
There is about a 100 post of people saying the same thing. No fix yet. We just have to wait. Sure they maybe fix it on the next wipe
Check user reviews. Pick one that focuses on what you want to do best
Just like how clunky it would be in real life?
Yeah I have been thinking about that just the ease of getting it back on and everything after having both hands off of it. So Iāve been thinking about the Kobra Sidewinder, since it folds on the go easily if I wanna use it like a pistol or such and it doesnāt zip tie in like the other models but my right hand is still attached too the stock, and can even slide the mounted hand super easily depending on the gun Iām using
anyone knows of a gunstock for valve index i keep seeing only for quest
A lot of them have index options, any specific one you were interested in or price point?
well its not for the quest headset its for the valve index ... and price would be around 100 cad
One second just throwing around a couple options here
The 100 cad does make it a little difficult since the currency exchange doesnāt favor you, but hereās 3 I could find quickly. Iāll try too find some more

Actually remove that spine one the second one, issues with the top part blocking scopes and chambering and such
But you can have top or bottom mounted because index doesnāt have the tracking issues quest 2 has so itās all preference
Solid point haha, but youāre effectively blindfolded when playing vr so I could see banging the free hanging stock around being an issue
I do have an entire room in my house dedicated too vr so Mabye in this case it would as much of a problem with all the room
Just only have too worry about my kneecaps and shins haha
I'm getting a magni because it is what most other stocks are not right now- available within a week
Yeah I just bought the mamut but obv not for everyone at the 210 price point. But only take a week - week 1/2 because of shipping
heads up to people that saw this, if you get a SpineVR you have to take the top off to not have tracking issues and so you can adjust scopes & taking the top off removes the ability to use a sling.
Yeah I only mentioned it too him because he has index, not quest 2. Index has none of the tracking issues but I mentioned having the top mess with it
@raw elbow it's brilliant
any budget gun stocks or half stocks? all the ones I see add up to $100+ with shipping
@jagged girder i sell mine for 32.99 send me a dm if interested
do you do international shipping?
i do but its a bit more expensive than us
that's pretty understandable
if you are at all interested send me a dm and we can discuss
i printed that one. No problem with tracking at all
kk
I got my onyx spine for around 90$ plus shipping
If you want, I can take a couple pictures of how wrong you are. š
2 point slings stay completely out of the way. And if you want ultimate hands free, there is always 3 point
whats the best gunstock to buy
DIY kit from bowk is 30$
Check user reviews. They're all good for something.
Of course we all think ours is the best because we have it, are used to it, and match how we play.
ahh okay gotcha
I've figured out how to calibrate....... don't haha use the kobra sidewinder and leave the sliding adjusted loose and just freely move to fit the gun your using
@lethal sinew would it be helpful to you and the folks here if I threw together the world's quickest illustrated guide to slings?
Send it bro
Anyone got any good 3d printable gun stocks for quest 2?
I can use this while my mamut ships haha
toxic_smoke1
Dose this game actually work well with gunstock I got one for onward but it feels unnatural
Think all games in general, itās always gonna feel unnatural until you get used too it. Like most things you do for the first time, especially since your brain is already used too freehanding it
Who was selling gunstocks for 25$?
What stock did you get, and what system are you on? Index, quest, etc
I wanna guƱ stock
Actually please do Iām curious!
I got this really cool idea for a stock I got a broken cloths hanger to make it Iām currently making it

āWe have Mamut at homeā hahahha
Is the spine good
I havenāt heard many great things about the company but there arenāt many reviews on YouTube
What controllers do you have?
Quest 2
It would be bad then, tracking issues with the controllers because the spine top part blocks the infrared lights for the sensors. And you canāt put on some scope and red dots that are closer too the middle of the rifle
From what ive heard most quest 2 players have to strip the Spine down to just just the metal pole due to tracking issues.
Which in my opinion, really kind of defeats the whole purpose of that stock is you have to take half the stock off lol
Yeah and you canāt use the sling once you take that part off too
You could drill a hole in it
Hah imagine having to drill holes and deconstruct a stock just to use it.
At gas station what should I buy
Redbull - Juneberry flavor
Best off trying this but still all top mount ones even when itās just a bar have some problems
Because the way the tracking works, the bar blocks some of the lights sometimes
Also, without using it just going off the photos, that shoulder stock looks super close to that controller, like the back of your shooting hand (back of thumb area) wont have much room for comfort.
They move, thatās just how itās marketed
Ahh okay that makes more sense then
Yeah they both have magnets that can go anywhere on that bar
Just buy pro controllers haha, 0 tracking problems
Gotchya
The low price of 299.99
Haha yeaaa. Im looking forward to the Quest 3 and their use of the pro controllers.
Yeah will have too see what they do there
Cause the controllers that come with the quest 3 are gonna have the same issues the quest 2 has just not as much
What do you mean?
The quest 3 isnāt launching with pro controllers
What are they launching with Q2 controllers?
Itās just a redesigned controller but still uses infared lights
Ahh gotchya, yah but the elimination of the controller ring means no more ring based stocks for Q3 controllers which = no more tracking issues due to ring based stocks blocking the tracking.
All the stocks for Q3 will have to be cup based.
Well it will still have issues, because the way it works is so the ring we have on the quest 2 has the lights in it
But they just got rid of the ring and put the lights around the top part of the controller
So same system just no ring, so if you have a top mount that still blocks part of the top of it, tracking issues
Yeah itās gonna be interesting how they do top mounted q3
only reason I got the pro controllers is cause they are the best you can get but the actual q3 headset is better for gaming than the qpro
They wont be able to do top mounted Q3 gunstocks. All the top mounted gunstocks out right now will need to totally redesign to a cup design.
That said, if they did do some kind of cup to top mounth design (if thats even feasable), my guess is those Q3 stocks will be much more expensive due to the extra time and materials to make that design.
Yeah I feel like they just wonāt even bother, since meta already said they will be selling the Q2 and still supporting it for years too come alone with the Q3 and Qpro
Apparently hand tracking and controller tracking are going to simultaneous and then AI will take that data and track the Q3 controllers in 3D space.
It will just be there super entry level headset at around 2-300 probably
Once Q3 comes out and then Q2 drops in price, VR markets going to see another nice big bump in user base. Plus Meta just released their Meta+ subscription, which is actually super nice for new users who dont have any games or dont know where to start.
yeah meta really is trying too take up the market and space, I mean obviously index will get its index 2 but still thatās gonna be a grand or more so most people canāt fork that out. So the 2-300 and 500 options are their best bet
Anyone know a really good cheap gunstock
@exotic condor i sell mine for 32.99 send me a dm if interesetd
Anybody know what gunstocks work with the extended kiwi grips
Any top side mount should work with them since it slides into the ring
I was thinking bout making my own stock out of pvc pipes
And make it like the Kobra cqb
Where it kinda just presses the grip button for you
i will probably do the same when my bowk cups get obliterated someday
You think it will be compatible with quest 2 gunstocks? Or will they change the size
yes i do beleive it will be compatable
The grips on the Q2 controllers are different than the grips on the Q3 controllers, so you're very likely not going to be able to simply slide a Q3 controller into a Q2 gunstock cup.
Dang
The shape of the Q3 controller looks slightly different than the Q2 controller. I could be wrong, but from the production photos it looks like the Q3 controllers are slightly thinner and alittle less curved.
You know, maby its just the lack of rings that throwing my perception off. I have a buddy who just picked up a Quest Pro and has a Q2, im going to ask him to compare the two and let me know
Okay he says holding both controllers they look/feel pretty identical, minus the top/ring portion. So it does sound like I may have been wrong.
from a buisness perspective it would be non sensical to re design re mold and re produce a already working controler you know in the terms of shape
This is true, however any gunstocks that rely on the ring of the controller to connect, will need to be redesigned if they plan to offer a Q3 version (obviously lol), which does suck.
My gunstock does rely on the ring partially, however ive already got some ideas on how to make it work without the ring.
gotcha
The quest 3 controllers are gonna be slimmer and smaller by a little
Misread you a little bit, but have some 2 point.
I hope they will be less than the pro controllers
Stays entirely out of the way with any reasonable moves, and if I'm going pistol only I just throw it around back
What about the pro controllers do you not like?
The price
Well they come with the quest 3 and wonāt be sold separately
And the price for the pro controllers is pretty good tbh for what they are
What about replacements
They have said that the tracking system is different so it wonāt be like backwards compatible either because of the way the camera work and need too to too use them
With the different tracking
The lead guy did a big AMA about it answering a ton of questions
just played a few raids with the glistco magnistock+ definetly a solid gunstock for the price my only complaint is the sling sometimes my gun goes upside down while im fighting and i'm tryna attach my controllers to air lmfao but still definetly recommend 8.5/10
2 point slings ftw hehe

User review? š
I liked mine for the first 2 weeks till the constant tightening made the clamp around the tube cracked... now it's superglued removing the adjustable nature of the stock... so
I swapped to the 3daptive Modus R... better in all ways
constant tightening? i've only tightened mine once
and its still as tight as when i did tighten it
oh and i got mine for 40 bucks on sale so if it does break i dont mind
Oh I'm giving mine away on stream when I upgrade my headset ... going to raffle it and my Q2 off to a viewer
ight oh and ofcourse theres a difference if you play multiple games i only really play ghosts of tabor so i dont really have to change my stock
I use multiple gun types so was adjusting alot... pre stock calibration
The gunstock calibration is horrible I have a pro tube stock and it doesnāt work it just us always off
Calibration works great for me...
Yes it you take abit of time with the calibration I find it OK to use also
This took me over a week, but I am a lengthy man with long arms. Both handles are magnetic.
I need help with my gun stock working
I use a ProTube and it really doesnāt work
I'm interested in getting one and I found one on Amazon for like 80 bucks. Is it worth it?
I think it's a Magtube.
Oh that makes sense, and Iām sure you get used to throwing it back and forth pretty quickly. I imagined it attaching to one point of the stock instead of the front and back
what do you mean it doesnt work?
Where did you get this?
When I calibrate the stock it is always off, when I see other use the calibration and ProTube it works fine. Iāve spent hours try to get it to work but it never does.
thats incredibly unspecific
straight for rifles, front tube up about 2 notches for more narrow geometry weapons like SKS/vector
but thats only for index, you'll need to adjust it appropriately
Mine... I move the cheek rest up or down. Fin.
it will probably get you close with other controllers, just gotta adjust it until it works reliably, you can use the gunstock calibration get more guns straight but its a bit rough
whos got time to adjust a cheek rest during the match
The stock or the sling?
@royal wagon Who's hot time to adjust their stock's entire geometry per rifle class?
Cheek rest is a thumb screw with set stop positions.
I've adjusted on the fly quite a few times for acquired weapons and optics.
Cheek and shoulder are a unified piece.
The stock'
Bowk invert marksman.
Best stock I've ever had. Better than the mamut apto (for the index) by FAR.
I'm guessing you have an Index too.
Yeah. I hear that inverted styles in general have trouble with the oculus system.
ah ok. I'm looking to get one to make aiming down sights a little easier.
Any competent stock should do that for you.
You on index?
Then I would highly, highly recommend it.
Every design is made to do something well.
This one is designed for rigidity, the ability to pull it into your shoulder, and a consistent cheek weld.
Looking for a good gun stock for quest cheep but sturdy
Can you send me a link to it then?
Willing to pay 150 and less
Check user reviews, or go here.
@proven tendon https://www.bowkvr.com/shop
Thank you.
If your on the quest I would not recommend anything top mounted, you will have tracking issues.
You just pull up and rotate off the center piece two notches, itās indexed so it hits the same identical point every time, takes less than half a second
What is it?
Oh wait nvm im dumb
No, dont ever say that.. You just need to click and zoom in and you will see everything.
No I looked at it and didnt realise what it was then I realised
I kinda took a bit from every single one I looked at and made my own.. Cost just the same to make your own if you do it like I did.. So around 70$..
Alr
i need a cheap one
Sorry if this is a dumb question, im getting the game after my vr gets here. will a gunstock make you more efficient at the game??
Probably depends on the player and play style
My play style doesnāt benefit from one because of how snappy it is. For me it gets in the way
It helps a lot in long distance shooting because itās so stable
But if you play more fast you might want a half stock
Look up i stock they have some good ones
My Kobra DMR with a shotgun pump attachment. Itās SOOOOO satisfying to use (not so much in Tabor because the 590 never effing works, and lack of reload options) in Pavlov and Contractors
for me it changed the amount of kills i got drastically but i play very tactically i check every corner walk slowly that kinda stuff so if you like running and gunning more you probably dont want a stock
I really wanted to try this one but with me moving to index it was a no go
Ngl I would rather be sneaky and tactical and the extra stability would help.
Does anyone wanna play silo

Question: on a 1-10 scale, how āworth itā is a gunstock? For reference, I medium to medium little consistently play games like Tabor (VR Shooters)
I mean Iāve been noticing myself playing more and more often and think a gunstock would be pretty cool
Also how do you reload
if i cant use my gunstock in a game then i dont play the game. if you want immersion, you really need a gunstock, moreso if your a gun guy. for reference i havent played GOT because i cannot adjust my gunstock to suite the various firearms in teh game (cant aim at all with them) so i havent played it. once the calibration gets resolved then heck yes im playing every other night. you reload like you normally do, just take the left controller out of its holder or magnet (depending on stock design) and release the magazine, grab a new one and thrower in there
@eager leaf
So here's the deal.
Allot of people think you can get good without one. You can certainly get better.
But you'll always be better at a certain level of investment with a stock, and every single top player in competitive games like Onward, breachers, etc? Stock.
i def dont think its required but it def is like a whole notch up from without
See above. As for reloading, drop by my stream sometime and see.
It's not a hassle in the slightest
Look at user reviews
The lanyard is around my neck and I have the controller attached to the end using the wrist strap
ohh that makes sense, i unfortunately do not have a working strap though because both of them broke so i just use knuckle grips lol
Rip
somehow after buying knuckle grips my aim got better lol
I'm using the lanyard my school gave me to put my ID on
probably because i donāt have to grip as hard so thereās no shaking
I naturally shake so the lanyard is helping A LOT my entire dad's side has a shaky hand problem. It's worse on VR
I'm eventually getting an actual stock but I'm using that for now
If you want that idea, but MORE, get a stick between your controllers and use a 3 point sling.
Explain?
Looking for vr stock cheep and sturdy mostly for ghost of tabor Iām on quest not top mounted
I've got my eye on one that's $75 that's an actual stock and another that's $50 that's like a string for the barrel and an actual stock for your right controller
