Same has happened to me as well, one standard 5.56 mag swallowed 50 rounds, but as soon as i pulled the mag out, and inserted another, it went back to 90 bullets in the loader again. I think it might be a tiny issue with the sync mechanism they are using. Like the workaround you cant insert a mag, until a certain timer has passed after you released the mag before it.

i would suggest you go in with little or no gear, and learn all the maps one at a time to learn where the ai and player spawns are so you can be more cautious

Also depends on the map. e.g. Matka Miest often everyone just rushes for the boss and leaves as soon as possible. If you can avoid initial rush, you may be left alone in the map to loot everything and the map offers not a bad loot. SKS or Bizon picked off from a dead scav is all you need really.

So in my professional opinion, play PvE mode for a bit, learn how the game works, and use it to learn the maps. Start with low level gear and build up money and resources to bring in higher tier things. Also do missions and learn about bunker upgrades, honestly just play PvE this wipe, then come next wipe you’ll be able to join everyone else in PvP when everyone is starting Anew making it easier for you and making your playing field even, then you’ll be a pro.

Light.
Island is pretty much unplayable without night vision. You can manage with a flashlight but good luck. Matka is more bearable with some dark corners.
Island also has a chance to spawn fish cultist boss only during night.
Loot also changes. Night has better loot spawns, more chances for rare loot, but it's not like it's all just rare loot.
Otherwise is the same.

Well, discounting all the sweats that only play night maps and like being stealthy af and 100% use suppressors.

Probably the recoil pattern. Grips are the way to go to reduce recoil, virtual stock just makes it easier to aim

I don't think a gripping with the second hand actually reduces recoil at all unless you have a grip- I'm pretty sure you actually have to pull the gun down to do any difference
