Yes, it was quite popular when it was first launched.

Each CA consists of 8 x 8 x 3 players, so 192 players. Top 4 of each SP join, so that represents 48 SP servers. Each SP server contains minimum 16 Rookie servers depending on the shuffling, so that's at minimum 768 servers being represented, more if those servers are dead. I know the server 7742 guy in my guild is in CA server 4, so it's probably more realistically 2000-3000 servers represented per CA server.

So a server 35000 would be CA server 14 or something... 14 CA servers for accounts created just 1 week after launch... That's crazy

Meanwhile I think NA only had a total of 5-6 CA servers cause the highest server number for a CA winner here so far is server 12100

additionally, RH in p3 cannot be taunted by noah, and she shoots p5

which means you bypass jackal and noah, hitting backline

for the most part it's learn by trying, there's a few archetypes you should get familiar with as basics, from there it really all a matter of similar teams that serve as counters

here's a few of the most common archetypes and showcase

1. anti nuke + stall + sustain
2. indom 2RL (any B3 can do this, it's highly preferable a self-buffing B3 or strong units like RRH, vestiTU, s.anis, SBS... etc)
3. anti noah siren, she will deny stun unless enemy runs 11%CS or a noise taunt priority team, as siren can be taunted in p1 or p2
4. the most common scar-jack, punishes slow teams or anti nuke

the rest of the teams are for the most part derivates, with exceptions of sacc teams (which are a bit more complex) and specific tailored teams (CP padded)

I don't usually recommend running the same team in rookie that matches any of the 3 you run in SPA

start with blue doll > use blue kits to get it to lvl 15 > exchange it to purple doll which automatically makes it lvl 5 purple

swap to SR-5
blue and/or purple materials to SR-6
elite kits to SR-10
blue and/or purple materials to SR-11
elite kits to SR-15

along these lines, elite kits are limited

don't ever use unless SR-6 or SR-11

or a bit higher

blue R-15 to purple swap is SR-5 by default like doppel said
