It's pretty simple It works just like a digital game but after you download the game it can only be played while the cartridge is inserted. I could go on a big rant about key cards but at least one good thing about them is you can still share or sell them since it's not a download code that gets locked to your account

It's only a 10gb game so I was okay with just getting it digitally, plus it was the kinda game I figured I'd want to always have easy access to
