here's a faq by clara about the steam's server maintenance bug, #technical-help message it is the same thing as point number 2. got a video also on how to fix it.
it is mentioned to be fixed already, but maybe when you uninstall it before, it didn't have the correct/fixed uninstall script so the bug happens to remain on yours. or it might also a different bug entirely. if you don't mind, it is worth to try that fix.

So I made a 2nd character on another server and got up to the Network start mission in Hykros entered the portal and the game crashed. I try to enter after restarting the game and game becomes unresponsive this also happened with another character on a different server I think I'm totally done with this game. I told support and they won't do anything about it.

also @wary shuttle this bug is reappearing, I've seen three people (possibly four with puck) here and in reddit with the same problem in the past two to three days. two people confirmed that the old fix (deleting the PatcherSDK files from the tof steam folder) can fix it.

The hints has been here around the community around september-october last year, December they officially announce it on social media and blast it around every one-two weeks or so, LI's server eos is february, transfer window is until april. even just from the official notification it is a four months window of action for a game that is not even two and half years old.

Level Infinite have no incentive to notify anyone, since those who want to keep playing ToF will be playing their competition's game while they want them to spend time playing their games instead.
Fedeen games (perfect world) have no way to notify anyone, since they didn't have LI's customer e-mail nor have any legal standing to ask for it.

if you're ph, many of fairy tail's members are ph, but they speak english most of the time (mainly because they're fellow refugee from animus server).

but if you want broader alliance, try the [redacted] alliance (I think the more active one are phantasia and court of cats) they also have crew/clans on other games.
you can ask for help and stuff in game easily that way and join their respective discord for carry schedule (or kidnapping people for carry).

regardless which region you're playing in, I highly suggest joining any active crew. Any that have 60-70k+ honor on saturday/monday should be good enough, the higher the more merrier the crew should be. But the more active the crew is, if you off for too long you might get removed faster than when you are on a crew with less active players.
can look for mentor in crew also.

as godeater already mentioned before, possibility of logging in using incorrect login method is the most common happening.
e-mail and gmail login is different, unless you login on e-mail then linked it to gmail before (making your gmail login points to your e-mail login account). e-mail is also case sensitive, so "Email at mail" and "email at mail" are two different account iinm.

if you want to check if your character is still there, then can ask friend or somebody on your region to check if your character is there, and then ask cs about it, better if you have record about the id number and stuff. Still. I bet they'll start over making you sure you login using correct credential first before actually looking for your account, so bear with it again

edit: found a fix from steam, this one guy has an option, delete the PatchSDK folder from the patch folder inside the game so itll attempt to update any missing files if you try to run it again. It works

What you played was Tencent/Level Infinite's Tower of Fantasy. That one is EoS earlier this year in February. Level Infinite officially deleted any account associated with their player back in April.
We're on Perfect Worlds/Fedeen Games' Tower of Fantasy since February. Different publisher entirely, not even same parent company.

There was a period where you can transfer your account information from Level Infinite's server to Fedeen Games', but that period is over. so if you didn't give your consent to transfer on that period, then none of your account data is transfered to the new server..

Dunno about you, but I keep track of all my games and updates regarding them on Facebook or Discord, especially ones that I've spent money on. Everyone was pinged here at least twice, first when it was announced and again when there were only a few days left. As for why it was done, Tencent was doing a terrible job of managing it so PWG decided to take it on along with CN which which was already theirs

The point is Tencent decided to stop the global service. and Perfect World decided to continue releasing the game in global themselves.
Perfect world want to bring every player to the new server, but due to law and stuff they can't just grab the player information from Level Infinite server. Hence the transfer request as consent for it.

gmail login and e-mail login is different thing.
if you haven't bind your account, you need to do e-mail login.
if you didn't get the verification code, check your spam/junk folder in your e-mail.

From my perspective, I spent several hundred dollars on ToF near the english release (probably more), played for a bit, got bored, wandered off, came back, and found out that all of my purchases are gone. That's been the experience of enough players that it's become a problem because the new devs have demonstrated exactly what not to do with an ownership transfer. I feel burned and used from the entire ordeal, and there's no way to decouple that feeling from this game. And I'm not the only one that feels like this.

Is anyone else having issues connecting to the game right now? I opened the launcher, signed in, and then it started up the game but it just sits there on 0% trying to load. I tried to exit the game and open the launcher again but it threw me straight back to the same screen without even opening the launcher. I tried rebooting but it keeps doing the same thing now. I believe you can't. iinm the launcher is where the information about the game versions and servers address are registered and checked. without accessing it first, the game won't know where to connect or the likes. you can run the game exe file itself without the launcher but it will stuck at 0% loading.

theoretically if you can use DX12 then better use DX12, that's afterall a newer, better, and more modern "engine" if you can call it that way.
DX11 generally should be used only when you have problem with anything related to DX12 and your hardware (like your hardware is THAT OLD that it can't fully comprehend specific script then some area refuse to load, or if you have some quirky graphical problem which might have related to it).

You can certainly try 11 and see if it stutters less. The advantage of DX12 is lower API overhead. In this case, DX11 and DX12 (choices in the game) are what I'm calling API's here {Direct-3D}. Think of it as a communication layer / way to communicate between the game (software) and your GPU (graphics hardware). It defines how the engine instructs your graphics hardware what to render.

DirectX 11 is similar to 8, 9, 10, in that they all built ontop of eachother. 12 takes a radically different direction, and drops alot of the abstraction that was provided before. Gets the game-engine closer to the hardware, so to speak, which sometimes allows doing things more efficiently.

Unfortunately can't say one or the other is 'better', since it all depends on your hardware and drivers, and whether or not the extra overhead is a problem to begin with.

Once a game dies and ends and a publisher/developer can't keep it running, they have every right to end all services. As was previously stated, this version of ToF has new management, its not the tof it was at the beginning. All old data that wasn't transferred has been deleted. And you've spent huge money on the game, why the hell weren't you keeping track of any developments through social media and discord? It was everywhere for the entirety of the transfer period

The main thing is Global was run under a different company before and They no longer own the license so they had to delete all the data from their servers after pw took the license back over.

And there was like a 3-4 month long period to transfer data from the two companies, which you had to initiate, before it was deleted.

they sent notices over social media so blame cant fall back onto them, if you didnt keep tabs on a game you didnt play anymore.

I doubt an lawsuit would do much more then cost you even more money, one company isn't responsible for another's doing.

It's a rendering issue usually. If you're in a high traffic area or low number channel, the game sometimes doesn't have the time to render the surroundings and you fall through the map. Can happen to NPCs as well

Most likely, the server you are connecting to changed, which happens sometime and tries to connect to a recommended one.

Check your servers under ps-America and see if a character is listed there.
