both produce their own chip, but I think crucial is usually slightly cheaper.
honestly, it is just more preferable if you use same brand for compatibility reason, but in the end it doesn't really matter as long as it works, no?
I am using hynix on my laptop myself currently, used kingston, pny and some others and so far I don't feel real difference (except once where I use a really cheap local south east asian brand...)

Correct on producing their own chips. The main three memory chip makers are Samsung, SK-Hynix, and Micron. Crucial (brand) was acquired / is the sister company of Micron (one and the same).

Generally doesn't matter far as brand. The only thing that I'd say to look out for in memory is XMP / EXPO (overclocked kits). Back whenever I was constantly looking at crash-dumps, a repeating theme was DDR5 6000+ kits -- so I'd always be on the lookout for 12th gen Intel or Ryzen 7000 and push for whether or not extended profiles were in use.

Extended profiles are technically-overclocking. Often they work just fine, yet there's also no guarantee. So when weird-stuff happens and you note instability, it's one of those things where if you don't want issues -- you don't run past stock voltages or frequencies.

Reading up on that chat on memory. 8GB (4+4) vs 16+4, I'd probably go for capacity over speed. (single vs dual channel)

Nothing worse for performance than swapping to disk. 16GB (8+8) would also be fine. Not an option in alot of laptops where 4GB is soldered and there's only one SO-DIMM slot. e.g, if your only option is 8 (on dual channel), then going single with higher capacity is usually going to get you better performance in games I'd say. [especially per ToF]

@wary shuttle a tiny update. I know it probably won't change a thing but hey, its not like it costs me money to share knowledge.

So, we at Whalesong, did a little internal investigation over the weekend. Whalesong has two batches of Raids. One at mondays and one at sundays, each week, every week. Different hours too. So ppl who can't attend sunday - can try monday, and the other way around. It also has to be like that because we have over 170 active members so doing it only in one day would be a nightmare to organise.

Out of all the people who had been carried at monday, during Asurada - 100% of participant had been awarded "limited raid" rewards and 100% of them received the compensation afterward.

Out of all the people carried at sunday (25th) 100% participants also received "limited raid" rewards instead of the usual, and 0% of them received the raid compensation.

Worth to mention, the party who carried both batches, of course, did received their compensations (Dragonzord, Ren, Zyrata and Rycko).

We advised everyone affected to sent a support ticket but majority gave up and refused not wanting to go through the ticket system.

I know that, as you said, if support is gonna say gg then yeah its gg. I am sharing this because, well, I am quite sure Asurada raid will return sooner than later and this situation will probably repeat. So yeah, a heads up, regardless how this story will end.

if it is step 1, that's e-mail and security code sent to your e-mail (in case you mistakenly put your password instead. also, maybe the e-mail is case sensitive(?)
if it is step 2, i have no idea. it should show a window to authenticate linking on twitch.
if it is step 3, try reloading the page, I also got some error at first but it fix itself and show an option to choose character to bind into.

It is step 3. After clicking "Tap to Bind", it shows a dropdown of server and character in the said server. I can choose them and after choosing the server and character, I clicked "OK" button and that is what's showing afterwards. It is not binding but twitch says account is connected. Unfortunately, there's no mail for the rewards ingame. Did this happened to you or it is just that the dropdown menu for sever and character didn't show at first?

I started playing again for gray fox regardless of losing all 24 5 stars I had, I restarted and I got nemesis which I really wanted previously but never was able to get, this being said I'm still upset over losing Asuka as I don't know when/if she'll be back. With Tower of Fantasy transitioning to a new publisher (Perfect World Games, replacing Level Infinite), all existing PC/mobile players were required to transfer their accounts and update the game to continue playing.

For Players Who Transferred Their Accounts:

After successfully linking your old and new accounts: Download the new launcher; Log in using your PWG email (see 1st image); Verify that your in-game PWG ID (2nd image) matches the one on the transfer page. If the IDs match: Select your server and press Enter.

Tower of Fantasy is crashing on the splash screen. Sometimes it doesn't, which is odd to me.
I have been trying to independently solve this issue for weeks by checking on Windows updates, looking at drivers and even messing with some config files. I cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on. I even tried rolling back a few Windows updates, installing optional ones and so forth, reinstalling certain drivers, atc.

I have found the crash logs if they will help.

Guessing that you have the game running under Windows 8 Compatibility Mode {dump itself looks like modern Windows}. Was that done in troubleshooting to the crashes? If not, I'd start by undoing the compatibility settings for any and all executables in the game folder.

-- Assuming the path is the same as when the game was under LI's publishing, try wiping out %USERPROFILE%\AppData\local\Hotta\. Basically, factory-reset everything to see how it behaves on a clean slate. Looks like you might've done some tinkering with the game's config files, that'll wipe those out and put everything back to ground zero like a fresh install.

Actual crash looks like heap corruption, though the crash reporter ran normally and it was caught.

Paks section (during startup) has alot of datafiles being loaded in (more than I'd have expected to see). However I also haven't ran the game in a long time so I don't know what's normal there persay. Completely wiping out the game (uninstallation, clearing the folder by-hand, and finally reinstalling the game) might help if there's extra files that shouldn't exist.

instead of grabbing files from "PcCrashSDK" folder, try the one from the "Crashes" folder.
each crash log separated by folder, should be something like UE4CC-Windows-and so on. You can just zip the newest folder inside that crashes folder.

Possibly Windowed adaptive sync behavior of the drivers. e.g, gsync / freesync are active when in the foreground, and not when in the background. I recall ToF having a foreground and background framerate setting as well, yet that sounds the reverse of what you'd expect with the game consuming more when in the background.

Anyway, framerate maybe unbound when in the background, and capped when in the foreground.

-- This time the halt was in mfmp4srcsnk.dll (component of WMP -- the Windows Video Player API). CMPEG4Stream::CStreamParser::ProcessNextSample, 0x+150 -- looks like a null pointer dereference. Very different from the prior crash you provided.

What I'd want to see next is if you can gather a "collection" of crashdumps to see if these are consistent in cause. Basically just crash the game a few times and send me a few more. (From the crashes folder, like the archive I'm replying to and not per the CrashSDK one sent over DM's)

Paks look identical to your prior installation, so if that's after a reinstall and cleanup, the large quantity of Paks is probably normal and I'm just not up to speed on what to expect since I've not looked at the engine logs in awhile.

Hard to say on that one. It could range from 50c / 70c on the CPU and GPU all the way up to 95c (thermal throttle) if this was a comparison between a desktop and laptop. Depends on cooling, ambient temps (if it's hot in the room), etc.

To be clear, you'd hope for something in the 70-80c range with a laptop, yet that's not guaranteed, especially on ultrabook class machines that are thin and quiet.

If you're seeing something that seems alarming, would need to know more on what you're running on there. If it's been a long time, and you're on an old system, it's not abnormal to just need new thermal paste, pads, and a deep cleaning.

I think the stuttering is caused by the shaders being compiled in the background. You can keep an eye on it — it usually gets much smoother after a while.

Hey y'all. I’m kinda new (4 to 5 days in) and could use some advice.

Last version, I pulled on the Free Pick Order banner just because I really liked the character designs, and I ended up getting 3 weapons from there. I didn’t realize at the time that I probably should’ve gone for the newest character, Lyncis.

Now I’ve ended up with a mostly Frost/Ice setup from my pulls, but I’m unsure if I should stick with that element and build around it or if I should grind out pulls for Aster, the newest unit/weapon (she looks super cool, ngl).

I’m still figuring out which element I want to main. I don’t mind not clearing high-end content or chasing the meta. I just want to enjoy the game and build a solid team that feels fun and works well.

Any tips or direction would really help! Also below is a pic of the weapons I currently have

I hope someone can help, the game works fine on my iPad, my account is present (been playing since launch), it always worked fine on my PC, but when I log in today, it says the password is incorrect and emails me a code, I enter this, select my server (which is the same as the one my iPad is using) and it makes me start again from lvl 1.
I can login to the main site to buy Tanium with my normal details and it sees my character, it just the PC client that says the details are wrong and starts me at lvl 1.
