and yes, not your fault, it's the standard launcher update process.
that's why many moved to steam for easier install / reinstall / update.
better compression and udpate process. ( although sometimes steam update size can be bigger )

careful when moving to steam, you need to bind the current account to steam 1st via the standard launcher before adding the game library into your steam account.

Assuming this is for the PC port: Please check for the existence of crash-dump subfolders under "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Crashes". [Or Saved_Steam if the Steam variant of the launcher]
Be aware that the AppData folder is hidden by default, and cannot be navigated to by hand. You can get to such a path directly in entering it manually within Windows Explorer (in the top path-field of the dialog), from the run-prompt, etc. For example:

Windows Key + R
Paste in: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Crashes\
-- OK the run prompt

-- Should those dump folders exist, and if you can send me a copy of the most recent of the subfolders (zipped up with an archive tool -- over DM's) -- would be glad to see if we can figure out what's going on there. Abrupt closure of the game is usually a good sign in that the game generally captures a crash-dump. Where it's not a clean closure (and errors show), the odds of a dump being recorded are far lower.

I do see that we're talking of for the PC here, and that you're closing at 99% on the loading screen. Free space looks a bit low if you have 10GB remaining on the disk {for future updates}, yet it sounds like you have the game installed.
It's sadly very hard to give an absolute answer of how much free space the game will need in the future, as the game receives updates and updates may increase the requirements. Personally I'd recommend erring on the side of caution and aiming to leave at-least the size of the game's storage on disk (post install) to ensure that updates run smoothly.

Depends on the cause of the stutter. Most common cause is not having sufficient memory for the game to entirely fit, resulting in swap-thrashing.

Checking your message history, it's unclear which game-client we're talking about here. (ah, I see a screenshot of the Windows Launcher, and a comment on a 4TB SSD)

Another potential cause of stutter might be if this is a hybrid graphics system. If your laptop supports a Mux Switch (direct output from the 3070 to the display) that might help too.

Same with updating the AMD drivers if the IGP is active.

Main recommendation is to check the temps then. Hardware wise and configuration wise (direct passthrough -- Mux Switch) seems optimal.

5800H should be plenty strong for the game, and the 3070m is also more than capable.

Memory is plentiful, etc. (shouldn't be swapping) And based on your conversation history, I assume the game is on an SSD.

Yeah, my hunch is that ToF might be loading the laptop more than other games. The paste might've dried out / pumped out (over the past 3 years) and the temps may be creeping up.

You might be heavily throttling in ToF on the CPU (if a shared vapor chamber design).

It does not use any type of streaming tech (partial downloads), negative on that.

Disabling DLSS ironically I'd expect to hurt, so that's a discrepency with that theory.

Either way, paste usually lasts 3-5 years. More often on the shorter term in laptops that are heavily used (gaming laptops).

Yes, that's been happening post update here. Just make sure that you're stationary and not hitting other keys when executing it.

If it's cancelled, you lose the effect and incur the cooldown.

If I had to guess, it's due to removal of the camera animation lock. I've not toyed with if turning this back on (for specials) in the settings helps. (does not help)

Execution while in motion (vehicle form) will always instantly cancel (from dropping vehicle form after the action). Make sure you're standing still and not on the bike.

that indicate the exe is allocating more disk space to prepare update process.
you need to leave this process alone.
stopping will result invalidating latest file download and restart from said file ( in your case 87% ).

also, you need lots of free space to prepare for this process.
the current base is ~80 GB ish, you need at least another ~80 GB for update process to run smoothly.
yes, the standard launcher is not optimized for file delivery, that is why many people moved to steam for better compression and update process.
but you will need to bind your account to steam 1st via the standard launcher ( game download is not necessary ) before adding the game library into your steam account.

Anyway, in the screenshots I saw 12mbit recv. Long as you're not idle (disk usage, CPU, or transfer), essentially the recommendation is to keep waiting.

Most common reason is if they're referring to a gmail account and using the Google external sign-in.

@coral cloud -- Is this the jist of the situation? If it is, unfortunately you'll have to be very assertive in the email that you're unable to sign-in, and thoroughly explain the situation to Customer Support. Be aware that you're going to need to prove ownership of the game-account, and mention that you're prepared to do so to support.

You could also try explaining the situation to Google with hopes of getting the account re-activated (even if just temporarily).

It'll be difficult with just the UID, name, and server that you played on. You likely can provide more. Think back if you can remember when you first played Tower of Fantasy for example (the date), and any other details that only you as the owner would know. The types of devices that you've used to sign in, the region you play from, your ISP's, any bank statements / transactions that you can cite for special currency purchases.

The more you can offer to support, the better your odds.

It's specifically the "LOD tweaks" that result in the behavior that you're describing.

If the stuttering is unbearable, just let me know. Could look into if there's anything else that's relatively cheap to improve (or free).

As in, outside of tinkering with the game's files, if we can locate the cause.

In general all of the guides online (the optimization guides) were written pre-Vera. The authors of those guides have not tested the modern zones. Alot of the settings they adjust will cause game instability [or other game-breaking defects], so generally we advise against touching the ini's unless absolutely necessary.

Unfortunately, you'll likely need to upgrade to a newer version of Windows to have a good experience in Tower of Fantasy. Despite that the game may list Windows 7 as supported (in some release specifications of the game) -- out of service Windows platforms are no longer supported by Microsoft and importantly per driver-support.

Just based on people I've spoken to, you're not alone in what you're seeing. Most people resolve the issue by upgrading to Windows 10 (if their hardware lacks TPM support) to acquire newer drivers.

If you perform an inplace upgrade the installed software should persist (both with a Steam install OR Standalone). Generally a clean installation of Windows is ideal of course, especially if that Windows copy is ancient (as it's expected to be).

Either way, I've spoken to people who've done inplace upgrades. The game will still be installed (program menu items present) and the launcher should just work.

Just make sure that you explicitly head over to your hardware vendors and get chipset drivers, graphics drivers, and all the other stuff that's now available.

This Discord is specifically for the "Global" version of Tower of Fantasy {*which covers PC [Windows] and Mobile [iOS / Android] *}. Tower of Fantasy for PlayStation is a separate game in effect, managed by a different publisher, with its own disjoint operational team, servers, and support.

-- I notice that you're not in the Discord for the PS variant of the game. You'll have better luck seeking support from the game's respective teams.

That said, on the reinitializing disk remark. Are you getting errors that aren't game specific that are disk related?

If you are, that might be unavoidable, or even disk replacement.

As disks physically fail, the contents of the drive can become corrupt.

If you didn't sign in through Steam, unless things have changed -- Steam should not be linked to your game-account as a sign in method. You can verify whether it is or not via the "Account Center" (accessed through the launcher) under the bindings tab.

If you're currently signing in via email (gmail as plain old email), then probably only gmail is associated with the account.

Launching the Steam version and signing in "not using Steam", would mean that your Steam account is still clean (not associated) typically.

Correct, if you've never clicked "Steam", then the behavior should be akin to the standalone launcher.

In otherwords, you probably can bind your Steam account to your game-account (the gmail associated) if that's your goal.

What's the cooler installed on the processor? Temperatures are within spec if a stock cooler. That said, completely understand wanting the temperatures "lower".

The main thing that you can do -- if you want to lower temps, is setting a PPT limit in BIOS. Technically this will handicap all core performance, yet it'll reduce the spikes during load-screens and not hurt the gaming performance too much to set a limit at 70w.

Though you believe you created the account on gmail, it's worth trying Google external sign-in (OAuth) on every account that is suspect of being used.

Typically that's the most common cause for people being unable to find their account, when Google is involved.

Some motherboard BIOS's on the PPT limit remark will have a setting called "ECO-Mode".

This does the same thing, and usually caps the chip at 65w.

The temperatures are normal. That cooler is sufficient. An NH-D15, or a Peerless Assassin will do better, but it's not required by any means.

On stock power profiles, modern Ryzen chips just get hot.

(or rather, get fairly toasty no matter the cooler)

The power profile is not 1:1 in power to performance. You won't lose half your performance if you opt to lower the cap to say 70w.

It's actually a common topic. Alot of people get scared during load-screens, since that bursts all of the cores.

So the temps climb into the 80+c range, commonly.

But yeah, all in all it's a good thing that you're keeping an eye on the temps.

The key reason that they get so high is that as lithography gets increasingly smaller, the density of heat generation (on the chip) goes up -- it's a problem of 'heat-transfer' to the cold-plate. More heat in a small area of contact.

You can feel the cooler, and it probably won't feel "hot".

If your paste application is good, and the cooler and pipes are not burning hot to the touch, that's a good sign that the cooler is adequate.

I can give it a go again but I'm pretty sure the first attempt gave me an account name that was just my name and it logged in to the intro cutscene.

When I logged in by code it said my account/username/whatever was "Kairu22" which sounds like what I'd use for the account name. Nothing was linked though. I don't even know how it has an associated name but only gives me the intro as if I never played it.

Google, no matter what (when using the external sign-in) will always indicate your Google account-name.

That is, the name shown is not consistent across sign-in methods in the launcher.

Far as verifying ownership of your account. The biggest pieces of information that you can provide are things such as order transaction ID's that you can back from bank-statements. Any purchases that you've made ingame, in jist.

In the absence of that, you might provide them your account activation date (if you have a record of it) -- when you started playing Tower of Fantasy. You can offer to contact them from the email address that you've any confirmation mails from (email records) to prove ownership of that address. There's alot of other facts that only the account owner should know, such as where you play the game from, the devices that you use, your gameplay patterns / habits, ISP's that you've connected through, and so on.

Support can also be asked for suggestions of what you can provide. If you're unable to answer what they request, you might be able to ask for alternatives. Yet, in general, the more you can give them -- (the more datapoints) -- the better.

When in doubt, ask advice from support on how to acquire what they're asking for, or alternate details that you can provide. In the past, support has given more options where one piece of detail can't be provided.

Usually DLSS Frame-Generation is responsible for those flickers. However, if that's already been disabled, the next thing that I'd look into is if your laptop's IGP is updated (latest drivers from Intel or AMD) -- or if it can be bypassed. (MUX-Switch in BIOS)

It's not the monitor, or adaptive sync / GSync, since recording software can pick up the flicker.

Generally I'd try to diagnose this like any other framerate problem and look at tools like the Windows Task Manager for a choke. Try to see if there's a spike in CPU utilization or GPU utilization when the discharge happens, and which (of the two) drops in load.

For instance, if GPU utilization is pegged at 100% during the discharge, then the problem might be purely on the graphics side.

If CPU utilization is high, and GPU is low, the bottleneck might be more on the system side.

With Polaris sadly I don't think you can use DX12 (it'll cause issues on that generation).

GPU load looks fairly high, so what I'd try here for a start is dropping the desktop resolution.

Say that you're at 1080p, lower it to 720p, and then re-examine the framerate during discharge.

If it increases, then you're GPU bottlenecked.

If that has an effect, that (or lowering graphics settings) probably is all you can do short of filing feedback and making sure the developers are aware.

I've run into a bug that's driving me crazy. I'm in the character creation menu. I copied a lobby preset, and it had those weird like headphone bell looking accessories, and now they're permanently bugged on me. When I equip another accessory, it just overlays the stuck one. Wjen I exit the game, and reopen it, they're still on my character. There is no way to remove them.

could be the screen cable issue or the physical gpu card, require re-slotting.
at worst, could be the gpu card bent due to its weight vs the pci slot.
nowadays physical gpu card is very heavy and require helping stand to prevent bending.
another thing is could be the monitor itself like overheating or the monitor adapter is overheating.

never had experience like this if the issue about monitor refresh rate.... ( no idea with more expensive gpu card )

If you replace some font in game.... make sure new font has same size as old font. But here i see new font is ~120% bigger, makes the UI look more bad (and at some places ugly placed), while chat and talking are also bigger.
So new font is NOT better. Developers just don't check carefully how UI looks, and simply blindfolded change the font? Who made this stupid mistake?

those files are encrypted, but should be possible to spot names.
report it to cs as evidence that your login has said character, that should ..... 'increase' the chance for CS able to help you.
better if you have purchase record at your account for that Sol3 server.

I strongly recommend ToF develop team undo the new font style and go back to old font. UI is on some places really too big and even worser to read some texts. It's now like amateur game due UI is looking wrong at some places and also not more nice.

With old font, there are much less problems with text in UI.

Hello, I'm redoing the storyline on tof, but I am having a bit of a problem.
After talking to Franz in Hykros, it's telling me to go talk to another character, but I'm on chapter 1 of the storyline and I know for a fact you don't see said person again till the start of chapter 7.

Is there a way to stop that mission from happening, or some how direct it back to the part I'm on?
Or do I just have to do it and go along with it?

1st at hykros is forced skip.
2nd after sleeping at mirroria, optional skip to domain9.
3rd at domain9 skip ( forgot the point ).

Sometimes newer drivers will help, though often the CPU is outside of Intel's support window and there's no new drivers available. If it's a desktop, then adding a discrete GPU (a card) might be an option.

the giga merge didnt have any issue, but previous merge probably.
the 'brutal' way to test is to login into each server within your old region ( i.e , you're in Sea , so find sea region and test each server 1 by 1 )

Where a repair (from the launcher) succeeds, yet the engine reports mismatches -- that 'tends' to points towards system instability. But yes, realistically need to see a few logs to see if the reported errors are moving (e.g, random assets and not the same asset with the same hash consistently).

The game being loaded into memory occupies more memory than the launcher performing the integrity check (or Steam, or any other distribution platform). Often the defective region of memory just isn't occupied from the launcher.

Anyway, if the verification succeeds from the launcher, then the disk is intact, the corruption has to be either memory related or CPU / PSU.

Usually what I'd suggest is running "memtest86" for a prolonged period of time (a day), to see if any errors show [then, dropping XMP {no overclocking} if that's enabled and reverting to JEDEC speeds and repeating]. Yet it'd still help to compare a few logs first.

The new font ruined partially the game. Seriously. I still strongly do rollback to old used font, because new font is ~120% bigger, and i can see some GUI parts are broken or made it too big, breaks some layout - makes it look as bad designed GUI. Please, roll it back until you fixed FIRST font or GUI to make sure it doesn't make it look ugly or break the GUI layout.

The story talking is also gone bad here with new font. I don't understand why developers pushed the new font in game without adjusting the whole GUI for it. But no, adjust whole GUI is too much work for them i guess... Well, good work with make game GUI looks more ugly now.

windows search bar -> type cmd -> open it with run as adminstrator.

if used on c: , usually the process will require your to restart the pc, so just restart it and let the process complete.

after that if the launcher still fail to start, delete the whole launcher folder, do not delete the game file, just the launcher folder, and reinstall the launcher from tof official website.
when asked to download game file, just point to existing game file.

after that, do a file repair from the launcher, in case game files was effected by the sudden pc shut down.

Hello I would like some help. My PC one day won't boot because it failed to read my SSD or something.

Basically I had the "Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press any key." So I tried going to BIOS, tried changing boot options but nothing happened so in the end. I had to open my system unit and replugged my SSD. I can use my PC now but ToF became laggy.

I'm not sure if it's just a ToF problem but I noticed that it became slower in terms of loading the assets. Of course I expect stutters whenever I used new weapons/UI on first app launch but the stutters this time are so bad, I sometimes get kicked to main menu when I try to warp on maps. Any ideas how to fix this before I result to reformatting my system?

if you were doing a system restore, large chance you need to reinstall your gpu driver and other driver ( like motherboard ) if you have up to date version of them.
mainly for gpu driver, recommend to do so via DDU tool. ( uninstall old driver and reinstall latest one )

after that, clear out directx cache and old gpu shader cache.
directx can be done via windows disk clean up, but for gpu, you need to google it, because each brand have its own way.

although that SSD is more concerning, have you ever check your SSD health via tools like crystal disk info or harddisk sentinel ?
just for caution, better check it and see if it's still good.... else you will need to prepare a new drive.

Thanks for answering. I don't have a GPU, but I'll try those other things like reinstalling. Btw I think I worded it wrong(the system restore part) so just in case, I did the system restore after I was able to boot the PC after doing the replugging.

Edit: I found the "fix". I changed the boot mode in the options from "Legacy" to "Dual". It's now working fine. Sorry I left this detail from my request because I thought it was just a way for the system to determine the order of the drives being booted during PC startup (very dumb on my part). do you still have the steam version ? and can you give more detail about why cannot get into server, like what error message you get , was it black screen, or simply crashed into desktop ?
if connection issue / black screen / crashed to desktop , usually will also impact the non steam client as well.
connection is related to your network devices, like require to restart modem / router, setting dns to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8, or check if you are using vpn / proxy service, or simply isp is not stable enough for steam game ( if other steam game which required conntected to steam also faced this problem )
black screen / crashed could be driver issue or OS issue or used 3rd party anti virus or other conflicting apps ( check pin for list ).

As for the normal standard download.
200 GB is suffice, the game size is 87 GB, although during update ( on normal client, not steam ), it can bloat into 2x of its current size.
the extra 33 GB is unknown, last time reinstall this game, didn't have that problem.
and that installation speed is way slower then mine which still using old HDD.
if you are using SSD, maybe need to check the condition via crystal disk info / harddisk sentinel.
if you are using old HDD, defrag it.

well, you can check at windows search bar -> type add or remove program, if it wasn't removed should be there.
but removing mcafee require more then that.
my go tool is usually portable geek uninstaller, since it will also search for left over files and registry preventing any left over being loaded by your os or interfering with basic windows defender.

if tof finally loaded, then maybe just need more data cache writing.
specially if you are using old HDD as storage device... and not defragged.

I'm not familiar with Rebound 11, this is my first time hearing of it. Typically total UI customization and enhancement projects use alot of hooks, despite that they do not "patch" core files of the operating system. Many of which 'may' cause problems with anti-cheat software.

Have you already attempted a full logout from the launcher {if you're using sign-in persistence}, exiting the launcher completely {make sure it's not in the system-tray}, re-opening the launcher, signing in fresh, then re-starting the game client? Most of the time that's all that's needed.

By syncing your account, assuming that means that you already "bound" your Google Account to your game-account. That should be all that you need to do there to access your characters on mobile.

One thing that comes to mind offhand is if you bound to your Google Account as plain-old-email (gmail), rather than using the Google option for association. Another common mistake is not having the correct server selected. The selection of world / server is not shared between clients on different devices, and you'll need to re-select this on each.

clicked on pause -> cancel multiple times and it starts downloading from 0KB and it's working fine.
or you can delete the download cache (TOF_FOLDER/sail_files/download_cache.dat) and restart the launcher.

The updater program is really useless piece software. Forced me to make 136GB room on drive, say there are no problems, and still stopped at 1GB from 6GB.

find the latest one an install it.
if your gpu driver was installed via windows update, remove it using DDU tool, and install manually from its manufacture website.

next time if you're going to delete the sail_files thingy, leave the sail_version.dat inside the folder, that's the one which the updater use to determine which patches you need to download.

yea, this happens quite commonly every patch to random people, the client download suddenly stopped, nothing happened for quite a time, if you check your net it shows no download happening at all nor any changes on the game data happening, it just stopped. then it restarted from certain GB and sometimes stuck again, restarted from the same GB, and looped couple of times before it finally worked it out itself
You can try deleting the temporary download file (anything other than sail_version.dat on sail_files folder in tof folder - not launcher folder ) so it start a fresh download (not continuing from certain GB like before), sometimes it work, sometimes it stopped on different GB. honestly I haven't heard anything clear about why or any definitive fix.

this is an elephant in the room that has been here for... idk, quite a long time, they need to fix it but idk if there's any actual works done on the stand alone launcher. which is possibly why the steam update different in size but some says it is more reliable.

the game files are compressed inside 2 large pak files.
any content update require unpacking and repacking which cost large amount of disk space, with minimum of 2x current game size.
problem with standard client is, those reserved space is being written / occupied.
maybe steam client don't and only read free space requirement while the actual write process depend on downloaded patch size.

Most likely you'll need to clear up additional space. Whenever you wiped the game, was this a full wipe of the installation and checking that there's no remnants left over in the install path?

While the installed game may not occupy everything, you'll need sufficient space for the launcher to download assets first, then decompress them. This can be upwards of needing double the installation space, especially during updates.
