Shouldn't, but the error that you've provided implies filesystem corruption.

Remedying the FS corruption 'may' allow the folder to be removed normally (through Windows Explorer or otherwise).

4.0, the main banner is changed into roslyn, you have to wait until ji yu banner re-run.
usually during physical banner, which is next banner after this one or after another 2 banner.
the roll goes like this : flame -> frost ( current one ) -> physical -> volt -> flame -> frost -> altered ( usually ) -> physical -> volt -> repeat.

for now, everyone got same issue, either further trigger is required which maybe tied to map exploration or this is a bug.

Need help. Downloaded game but it says I don’t have storage space, not iPhone notification but ingame notification. Game is like 10gb+ and I have 70+ gb free. it was fixed during 3.0, but seem to randomly resurfacing again.
your best bet is to keep freeing up disk space and restarting whole process.
The game itself require around 50-60 gb in total :

• 25 gb for game files
• 5 gb for operational
• 25 gb for when patch happened

if that a pc, restart the modem so isp can refresh your ip.
also use google / cloudflare dns at your windows network adapter setting. ( 8.8.8.8 / 1.1.1.1 )
lastly, can try to tether using your mobile data to test the connection stability.

if you are using standard HDD for the game files, it will take a while to allocating disk space.
can make it faster by defragging the HDD.
no need if SSD, and it should work very fast.
the disk allocation can take about 15 minutes ++ before continuing the download.

if you don't feel comfortable with standard launcher, best is to use steam, but you will need to bind your account to steam 1st before starting to redownload whole game from steam.

I've seen that type of effect crop up from time to time on non corrupt installations of the game, and it's usually driver related in nature on systems with older cards {such as Radeon 200-300 series}. There may be things we can try, even if the hardware is old enough that there's no official driver updates being released.

If you're playing on an Apple Device and don't have the ability to sign in via Google, do you have the ability to install the launcher on a PC? (don't need it to be able to run the game, nor for the game to be downloaded / installed)

The Standalone Launcher's Account-Center can bind another sign in method (such as your Apple ID) to your game-account, after signing in via Google. Once that's done, you'd be able to use the newly bound sign-in method to access your game-account under iOS.

That answers my question ironically. (Not a problem with the launcher, it's the game-client) -- Disregard my earlier suggestion of what to do with launcher blackscreens.

Please check for the existence of crash-dump subfolders under "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Crashes". [Or Saved_Steam if the Steam variant of the launcher]

Be aware that the AppData folder is hidden by default, and cannot be navigated to by hand. You can get to such a path directly in entering it manually within Windows Explorer (in the top path-field of the dialog), from the run-prompt, etc. For example:

Windows Key + R
Paste in: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Crashes\
-- OK the run prompt

-- Should those dump folders exist, and if you can send me a copy of the most recent of the subfolders (zipped up with an archive tool -- over DM's) -- would be glad to see if we can figure out what's going on there. If the client won't close, you may need to restart Windows before trying to get at the dumps.

That said, it's 'abnormal' that the client won't close following a crash. Usually when I've seen that, it tends to hint at a bad graphics driver hang and not just a client-crash.

(just viewed them now -- the COM-server rights issues are pretty normal to see on Windows installs) Though we've already looked at your game logs and dump and this is likely just the lack of OpenCL.

I see that iCUE was removed, that's good. Would recommend keeping that off the system if possible since it's a routine problem culprit.

Hello, does anyone know an issue where the game close studently at launch (just after the logo appear) and how to solve it ?
I've play some time ago then changed my computer and then reinstalled the game but I can't launch it.
The crash is systematic, i've fully updated my windows 11 and my drivers, reinstalled the game with and without steam, cleaning appdata folder and registry from the game, even tryed to install it on another driver, hardware is enough since it's a i7 11th gen with 32gb ram and a rtx3070.
Just by curiosity I've also installed the game on my old computer on witch the game run fine, this one is on windows 10 but I duno if my isse is related to windows 11.

that's odd, i cannot reproduce this issue.
even at another pc, all i need to do is just turn on the orbital eye option.
try standing near terminal, then open the orbital eye app, turn off all of them and then on again.

it should show mini boss ( target list ) and terminal port, at least with all orbital eye setting on

also try switching your graphic setting, in case this is another roslyn case.
some user bugged because not using either the highest setting or lowest setting.

you can try this 2 things... well, hopefully one of them fix it :

• repair the game file via launcher or steam verify if using steam. ( make sure to add game folder as exclusion to your windows defender and other 3rd party anti virus )
• do a client reset by deleting content of :
  %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta
  %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\tof_launcher
  %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\tof_launcher_Steam\ <-- if using steam.
  run launcher -> top right drop down menu -> system -> pick correct directx ( if gpu have raytracing / dlss , use 12 ), then have to find you character at server selection and redo all in game setting again

hey guys, I have this error where everytime I try to launch the game I get the error 'Login status exception, exiting the game!'. This occured for the first time on the 29th of May and I no matter what I do I just can't get rid of it. I uninstalled the game and installed it again for like 5 times already both on Steam and the original launcher, I had friends trying to help me, I went on Reddit, YouTube and googled to find a way to fix it but nothing seems to work. I already contacted ToF support via email but that wasn't really helpful either. Last thing I got was a bot response 6 hours ago telling me to provide them with the relevant logs 'PC: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Hotta' and I don't know what they mean by that tbh. Should I send them the Hotta folder? cause that would be 74GB or what are these logs? I went through this folder and I can't find any file called logs... I'm so confused.
The only way I can play the game right now is via an emulator. The emulator lets me log in and hop into the game without any problems.
I also gave a friend my account to check if he can get into the game with my account from his PC and that worked so I guess it must be a problem on my end. It's just weird because I played this ToF for like 1,5 years now and I never had any issues at all. This error just appeared out of nowhere.
I'm not the most tech savvy person and now I'm at a point where I just don't know what to do anymore. I can provide screenshots and everything, I just want to fix this and be able to play ToF again...

all I had to do was delete the Hotta folder...

it was a hidden folder, thats why I wasn't able to find it. A friend just noticed it and we tried deleting it. That reset everything, all my settings etc. and I was able to get rid of the error!

Sometimes, sometimes not. It's rare to need to wipe out the client cache, yet sometimes (be it from file permissions or otherwise) the files in the Hotta folder get into a state where the launcher isn't updating them, and isn't re-writing intl_auth.

If that happens, and if the launcher doesn't output the correct data for the client to use on startup, then the client may sign-in with old session data.

Hi there. Been having issues playing ToF on PC using the regular installer. I have tried using all of the work arounds I saw on here but nothing seems to work. I've tried to play for months without any success. Is it a case where PC users are officially unable to play on PC? Or are there incoming patches to fix these issues?

Specifically, I am unable to play because after loading the game, I can move around for about 2-3 minutes until the game freezes entirely and then force closes on me. I've completely removed all data files and fresh installed the game, tried every combination of different graphical settings and even updated and gave exceptions to multiple different anti-virus programs that I have tried to get the game to function properly but to no avail. This started a few months ago and I've never been able to play since then.

In jist though, OpenCL is missing from the system and whenever the opening splash plays, the engine closes when video decoding is initialized and the ICD cannot be found.

Yeah, this is the key here-- that the card was exposed to extremely high heat beyond the thermal throttle point for awhile. It's hard to say if anything was permanently damaged from the heat, but the odds are that the card can no longer sustain very high loads.

The only thing that you can really try in a situation like this is underclocking (reverse of overclocking) the card with hopes that the silicon still runs stable if it's not allowed to reach its maximum frequency.

You can also try to push down the temps as far as possible, since heat is inversely proportional to stability.

The cooler it is, the higher the potential it has to run stable at a given frequency.

Far as the video crash -- videos are a bit different from gaming in that videos don't tend to keep clockspeeds elevated. The card's clock frequency may bounce around, and the card constantly transition (increase and decrease) between power-states. During p-state transition is another key area that cards lose stability.

The Cable Tie trick is what I'd recommend on the cheap {we partially talked of this in DM's}. zip-tie a case-fan (if you have a spare one) to the other side of the cooler.

Either way, you put in a good effort with the repaste and did well in that regard. Just might've gotten unlucky far as any underlying damage that's already happened.

For NVidia cards, the most popular go to is "MSI Afterburner". Given it also doubles for monitoring.

Inside Afterburner, there's two sliders, one for core clock, and one for memory. These sliders apply clock-offsets. How they look visually depends on the skin, yet they'll always be there on the initial screen displayed in Afterburner.

If you slide these to the left, that's a negative clock offset (an underclock).

--- Then simply hit "apply".

Anyway, since the goal is to see if the card can be gaming-stable with an underclock, you'd start off by sliding them both all the way to the left. Load up the game, and see if that helps (if it's stable).

If the game is stable, then you could slowly increase core and memory until the system becomes unstable.

Then back it down a little bit past that point. (since you don't want to be right on the edge of stability---)

the old launcher sometimes have problem with disk allocation, specially if you are using old HDD.

if you already have an account, stop that download and do account binding to steam, launcher page -> top right dropdown -> account -> bind to steam, then download the game via steam, bind 1st, don't download or even add the game to library yet before binding process done.

if just starting, well, just uninstall everything and download via steam.

You might be able to use an oversized fan whenever using zip-ties. It doesn't have to be necessarily an exact match, since you're more or less just strapping the fan to the card. The fan can overhang on one or both sides, e.g.

It's more a matter of how much airflow can be forced through the cooler's fins. The closer that the fan can be to the card, the better.

If you meet the requirements, processor and hardware wise, then you likely just have TPM disabled in BIOS. Until Windows 11 was released, most older BIOS releases had fTPM disabled by default.

Anyway, you can either update BIOS, or just dig around in BIOS for the TPM settings.

did you replace the pc gpu with new model / different brand ? if yes, will need a complete driver reinstall using DDU.
else, just need to update your driver GPU and OS, if the grpu driver come with 3rd party support like geforce experience / amd hydravision, better to uninstall using DDU and then reinstall driver without those 3rd party.
another thing to try is by hard reset the game client, delete content of :

Alot of devices actually don't charge all the way to 100%. It's not uncommon for a device to stop charging before completely full to extend the lifespan of the battery. e.g, in that for Lithium Ion, going to the limit is not great for the battery in maximizing charge cycles.

Since you mentioned "Google", the most common problem if you're an older player (haven't played in awhile) is accessing the Google account as plain-old-email (or vice versa). Remember that Google Accounts can be both used as Google Accounts (externally via OAuth sign-in, from the Google "button" on the bottom of the launcher) or via gmail via the non-Google services (the standard sign-in prompt). Make sure that you're trying both of these if you're having issues getting into the account, and if your server selection is indeed correct.

If that doesn't help and if you can't think of any other accounts that you've used, the other potential is Google's email salting feature. If that wasn't used in the early days, and if everything else fails, you'll probably need to #game-support to get an investigation started.

For a situation like this, the first thing I'd want to try is a factory-reset of the client and launcher. Try first closing the launcher and game client completely, followed by wiping the contents of the following two folders:

First thing to do is to make sure that you're on the right account, and right server. Double check your credentials, especially in the case of "Google" being used.

Note above the comment on plain-old-email vs "Google" as an external sign-in provider. This tends to be the dominant reason.

If you're certain that the credentials, method, and server are indeed correct -- then you'll need to #game-support to get an investigation going.

Though, in general usually it's just a matter of being on the wrong account or server. e.g, where it's faster to just try every other sign-in method that you suspect might've been used.

Yes, Am still using a A8 7650K but replace my old GTX 1050Ti with a RX 580 8GB SP2048 and relocate ToF temporarily on an Samsung EVO 870 500GB which is my system drive. Here is CPU's statistics Screenshot at some random places first and then Network Map. Mirroria is one of the most demanding map that my CPU struggles, I have no complains to my old CPU to output 50~35 FPS on some heavy map like Mirorria but compared to Network Map the freezing and great amout of drop on FPS is unbearable sometimes. I get like 35~10 FPS. I think i'll just upgrade my system with a Core i7 7700K or Corei7 9700K in the near future since I have some spare 1151 mobos and still saving up to buy a few SSD storage on this PC. Thanks.

Usually errors like that tend to either be a rights / elevation issue, or software intereference (e.g, HIPS, AV, etc). First thing to try is if you can explicitly start the launcher as "admin" by right clicking on the Tower of Fantasy Launcher Shortcut, then selecting "run as administrator".

Make sure that any resident copy of the launcher is closed fully first. Check in the system tray-

It might be normal depending on the CPU that's in the system. I note that your application tab is sorted by memory usage (not CPU), and that there's a total of 4GB in the system (excluding system reserved). So I assume that this machine is on the lower end.

What type of log file and error are we talking about in this case? A kernel panic? Tower of Fantasy isn't natively supported on Linux, and the RAM shown in that screenshot is a bit too low for ToF.

The two primary causes for long load times are either system performance or connectivity. On the system side (at least speaking PC-here), it tends to either be memory-exhaustion (swapping to disk) and or a combination of a slower mechanical drive. {or the two, where a lack of disk cache exacerbates the slower disk}

-- Since it's a very open ended problem with many causes, would need to know more about what you're running on hardware wise.

Anyway, per how to fix it, depends on what the problem is. So we'd have to start out identifying what's slowing things down.

We can't actually recommend use of any VPN service due to the user-agreement. Player Conduct (section 7), clause {s} -- which prohibits use of VPN's or proxies.

However, if that works (even if it works sometimes and not always), that implies it's on the connection side.

If the problem "comes and goes", that also would lean on the connection side of things.

WIFI instead of Ethernet probably will be worse. You'd be looking to try an entirely different ISP {cellular tether}. Unless you mean WIFI hotspot off of a Phone.

The goal is to entirely change peering, and see if a different set of peers (a different route to the servers) results in fast load-in.

You could also concurrently #game-support, to get an investigation rolling from the other side. The goal being to have both ends (the server side and your ISP end) look for potential routing issues in each direction.

When in doubt in a situation like this, the recommendation would be to reach out to support for clarification and investigation. If there is such a request in the system, they can assist in cancelling it. If you did not place the request, then you can also ask that they investigate the potential of account compromise.

There's strong incentive to be skeptical of anything that you did not initiate. A phishing scheme usually would not suggest using ingame communications or features as well. That said, that it sounds like you did not make the request requires followup.

-- The option to delete an account normally would be under the Customer Service Menu {Settings -> Help-Desk / Support icon in the upper right}, with a category for Account Deletion.

First thing to try is resetting all Internet Equipment. CPE / modem, router, switches, etc -- if that's not been attempted yet.

Sometimes firmware defects (bugs) in router software can cause instant disconnections like you're seeing at login {which go away after a power cycle}. It also might be a routing issue that's cropped up on the ISP end [and probably temporary in that case].

Please check for the existence of crash-dump subfolders under "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Crashes". [Or Saved_Steam if the Steam variant of the launcher]
Be aware that the AppData folder is hidden by default, and cannot be navigated to by hand. You can get to such a path directly in entering it manually within Windows Explorer (in the top path-field of the dialog), from the run-prompt, etc. For example:

Paste in: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Crashes\
-- OK the run prompt

Should those dump folders exist, and if you can send me a copy of the most recent of the subfolders (zipped up with an archive tool -- over DM's) -- would be glad to see if we can figure out what's going on there. Not quite, you're looking for that hidden AppData folder under your user-profile. It can't be hand navigated to unless you go into the folder view options and un-hide hidden folders. It's easier to navigate to by direct path (see the example above with Windows' run prompt).

Start with the three from today (6/27), and zip them up / shoot them over to me through Discord's DM's.

Summary: Geforce GT 610 + Xeon E3-1220 v3. Latest drivers (2018). TDR (driver crash) on DirectX 12 and 11 modes.
-- Raising TDR timeout from 2-seconds to 10-seconds resolved the crashes. (false detections by Windows / drivers not actually hosed)

Sounds like the trackpad got disengaged. There's probably a key combination on the laptop that enables or disables it.

Look at the FN keys on the top row, and see if anything looks like a trackpad (box / square icon).

Anyway, I doubt that it's the drivers specifically. If it was, then a clean OS install (or booting off the installer media) should've restored the touchpad / trackpad to functional. That it doesn't work means that it's not drivers at this point.

It may not be a button, but a key combination on the keyboard that's controlled at the BIOS level.

For instance, my laptop has such a feature.

You'd have to consult the manual.

Anyway, I've never heard of drivers killing a touchpad. The only thing I can think of there (if that happened) is if the drivers bundled a FW update.

Either way, if I was in your shoes, I'd look for a manual first and foremost.

If that doesn't help. Then I'd pop the battery, and unplug the machine.

Discharge it / cold boot.

If that still doesn't work, then I'd see if there's a CMOS battery that's accessible (consult manual). e.g, clear the laptop's BIOS.

And if that still doesn't help, then at that point the last option is to check the connection to the touchpad internally, and if that doesn't yield anything. Probably replace the touchpad.

Then it's not drivers, and it's not software. You have a hardware issue that's probably coincidental- unless the drivers carried a FW payload that legitimately killed the touchpad.

I'd still start with a cold boot.

Pop the battery, power down hard / discharge.

And cold start the laptop.

Popping battery may require that you pop the hood.

Then the next thing to try is clearing CMOS. Unfortunately since all laptops vary, I can't say if this is easy or hard for yours.

Unfortunately, that may be on the backside of the machine. (motherboard may have to come out to get to it)

Most devices have a CMOS battery due to the RTC.

There's no guarantee sadly that you can downgrade. (in a straightforward way)

Either way, you'll want to get a communication channel open with the manufacturer should this fail. Explain what was happening whenever the keyboard and mouse cut out, and see if they have recommendations.

Yeah, last resort you'd replace the top panel -- if you're not warranty covered.

e.g, a keyboard and trackpad.

Before doing that, if not warrantied, and if you're going to self repair it. I'd try to reconnect the keyboard and mouse.

Make sure the ribbons are firmly seated.

You could also experiment if the keyboard or mouse work on their own, with one disconnected.
