Both were PC clients, I had the game installed on my laptop as well. And both were using Wi-fi.
I didn't try the integrity check/repair. Because I thought if the problem was with local files, I would find the answer much quicker from checking it on my laptop.
So, weirdly this is how it went (in case the details help you understand):
- Killed Nan Yin and that information was stored on the desktop's local files before getting the quest objective for it.
- Completed the prior objective of "Talk to Lan", after which I got the actual objective of Defeating Nan Yin. The objective didn't connect with the pre-existing information that she was killed already even though it was visible visually (her form disappearing if you get closer from when you re-enter the instance; and none of your hits registering on anything)
- Opened ToF on laptop and the enemy loaded as expected, killed her and was able to move to the next objective.
- Re-opened game on the desktop and it updated to the new objective.

just a quick summary regarding the crashing/loading troubleshooting step with Tower of Fantasy. There were 2 (3) different directories created by the game under Windows when u install the game:
deleted/replaced when uninstalling/repairing the game
