The Planar Reflection isn't part of the game settings from the looks of it (Tried adjusting the settings). Likely using Unreal Engine's default values for reflection resolution - Giving bad quality.

Error is solved. I downloaded the launcher from the website and reinstalled it on another disk. At first, the launcher crashed during installation, but if you open it and wait a little and then click "install", then the installation started. If I'm not mistaken, I also deleted the "tof_launcher" folder by this path -> %appdata%/Roaming. Until install. After reinstalling and logging in to my account, I closed the new launcher and started the old one. In the old one, an account was logged in, although I had logged out of it before. I just had to press "launch" and the game started.

Also, somewhere in this what, a person has already said that reinstalling helped him.

I hope this is the solution.

That said, you've referred to it as a 'freeze'. Could you describe the freezes a bit more? For instance, does sound "loop"? Does the display go black? {or more like you get a persistent image "stuck" on the screen?} Does the mouse move after the system has frozen? Does the machine automatically shut off if you wait long enough?

A-lot of the time, freezes happen as a sequence of events in a cascade. For example:
-- Display 'freezes'. {display driver hang}
-- Monitor goes black. {loses signal -- within 2 seconds}
-- Windows issues a "TDR" (timeout display reset)
-- The TDR 'fails', the screen stays black -- as there is no functioning display device to show what's happening.
-- Windows may or may not record a BSOD dump, and the system might lock up / sound freezes at this point. {Windows might reboot automatically after recording the dump, or the system power off}

Even if the OS fails to record a dump, there tends to be some trail of events that can be seen in the "Windows Event Viewer". {specifically the System section}

Ah, that's better than a hardlock actually {no-crash}. Next question just based on the description, if you look at the HDD activity LED on the machine, is it solid during the freezes? {memory usage after release 2.4 did increase}

If there's insufficient memory, memory pressure is high, and the OS has to resort to using swap. That can make the system momentarily unresponsive, yet still functional.

i really don't know what's the idea of game design back to eva raid. i always find people that doesn't know how to do the boss and continue to heal her and so it's a perma wasting of time. the respawn is bugged in a raid where you have only a life, so we have to rematch with new randoms tossing again the coin. there isn't a real tutorial that prevent you to do the raid before learning how to do this kind of boss with this kind of hard mechanics and the text that appair and disappair/change so fast that should explane the mechanics, while you are fighting, is the worst tutorial i ever seen. devs, is the best strategy toss a coin with random matching to find random huge whales that could outscale selfhealing of the boss? it was that your idea of "game design" in an online game? the boss already has so much mechanics that let the raid be hard with the colored circles and they are a good idea, but the self healing when the aggroed player is healed is really a bad idea. even becouse the best weapons to do high dps are weapons that heals passively so it's impossible to do the new raid with the weapon that you're "selling" and the boss usually almost oneshot in a full combo so who has the aggro usually need heals etc. etc.

not funny toss a coin to try finding whale dps randoms to outscale selfhealing. 10 tries, 10 resets, so much people that ragequit the raid or constantly heal the boss or are oneshotted with the respawn button bugged that doesn't appair even when we speak to die and respawn to retry with the same party and so it means a rematch with different random people that cause again another waste of time

the idea of doing things that could be done only in party is good, but the mechanics haven't to be toxic

nemesis raid has a good self healing mechanic becouse it needs that both have to be near theyself and so the strategy is "separate them with different aggroes". eva is alone and there is no strategy in "don't heal the tank" when the tank is almost oneshotted and needs heals to survive

i really want know how the "new" people that reach the lv 90 rn could do the new raid without finding huge whales

Though I understand that the issue didn't exist prior to the update for you -- have you also taken a look at your CPU temperatures {given these aren't visible in what was shown in task-manager, and given the low GPU load temps}?

On the point of the temps, do you know what fan-speed the 1060 is running at? The reason that I'm pushing this, is that I'd expect the card's temps to be much lower than they are, per what it's pushing {load, framerate}. I've seen a few cases where people's systems were simply suffocated for air, or needed some maintenance, and where they weren't able to reach their full clock potential -- yielding poor performance.

Hitting 70c isn't dangerous on its own, yet I note two points in the video where temperatures are that high at roughly 15% load. A hot card might mean a hot chassis internal temp, and high VRM temperatures or CPU temp as well.

thanks for all your help! Prior, although adding the exception URL to Avast did not work at first, by the time I was done playing I tried one more time and it successfully worked. From what I can tell it was indeed my Avast in the end for some reason, but adding the extension to it eventually fixed it and I was able to participate in the survey. I am unsure as to why this might have been, but prior to this success all other attempts at any links in game crashed it- thus I can only assume the URL exception was the cure indeed.

I checked the pinned messages and there was a solution for my problem except I can't follow the instructions because I downloaded from Steam.
The "login_state_error" message pops up on the title screen and it forces me to close the game, this started to happen a few days after the Innars update and before that, ToF worked fine.
I didn't change anything on my pc, all I've been doing was just playing Tof and now I can't... I waited for a few days to see if it was just a server overload, but I don't think that's the case anymore...

Essentially there’s two main causes here, one being system performance and the other more connection related. If the client takes too long to complete loading {which I’ve actually seen quite a bit of}, then it’s possible for a connection-timeout to occur by the point that it’s ready. In this type of scenario, the client completes loading, then drops back to the selection screen.

^ Sometimes the engine log is sufficient to figure out what’s happening. Could you send me a copy {via DM’s} of “%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Logs\Hotta.log” immediately following the drop?

e.g: instead of trying to sign back – close the client to finish the log write, then make a backup of that file.

@vast violet – Similar request to the above, please send me a copy of an engine log immediately following a loading screen ‘drop to server-select’.

Be aware that the use of VPN’s is against the user-agreement. If that’s something you’ve already tried, this narrows down the problem and rules out it being an issue on the system side. Meaning, that you’d want to get in touch with your ISP and to #game-support in a situation like this.
In the case of your ISP, you’d want to explain the game, region of servers (where you’re connecting ‘to’ ), etc. With Tower of Fantasy’s support, you’d want to provide as much information on where you’re connecting ‘from’ as you can: meaning, Internet Provider, location, IP-address, and so on.

As a starting point, close down the game, the launcher, and verify that the launcher is nowhere to be seen in the Windows system-tray and process-list. Then, once everything is confirmed closed, wipe the contents of the following folders:

Alternatively, if you have any other devices you can try signing into the game with them in order to verify if this is isolated to just your main system.

You have something in your keybinds bound to something the game uses by default. I had this same problem when 2.4 dropped and I had L bound to dash on my side which is by default bound to Dive with the patch. I had to go into the input.ini file and change dash from L to something else and then the crashes stopped.

If you message CS about it they should know about it now since I explained the fix to them after they were useless and I figured it out on my own.

how many weeks are passed from the release of this kind of item? for each one, we have to wait at least 10 weeks to get at least 10 keys to open the chest of the boss that has a % to drop the item needed for the research to get 4 shards of this gear piece. then you find this kind of comboed stats and "let's try to upgrade this just to get a lil boost of stats becouse is better than nothing" and what happens is that with 5 upgrades, all stats are touched less the one needed. 10 weeks for each one i want remember. 10 weeks, ladies and gentleman and simulacrums. 10 weeks. yea, the world boss can drop an entire piece of gear, but i got only one (with crap stats) from the release of these item and i never skipped a day. so the best "worthly" way to get more of this piece of gear is get almost 10 keys, 1 each week, to open a world boss chest, hope in the luck to get 1 of the rarest research item and do 10 research (70 energy) and pray that you got good stats and than pray that the useful stat is touched from upgrades. 10 weeks. "maybe" there is some problem (less with the rng, more with the at least 10 weeks, so 2,5 months, needed for 1 of this piece of gear). and i'm thinking even about new players it's being so boring

That specific error either implies DNS or routing issues. You can try using a third-party DNS service (such as Google’s or Cloudflare’s), restarting your router, modem, and any other Internet Equipment.

In that case -- as a starting point, close down the game, the launcher, and verify that the launcher is nowhere to be seen in the Windows system-tray and process-list. Then, once everything is confirmed closed, wipe the contents of the following folders:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\tof_launcher\*

Re-start the launcher, sign back in, and then try re-starting the game.

^ This will in effect factory-reset both the launcher and client, making it as if you’re signing in for the first time. Sometimes this helps when things have gotten into a weird state.

@harsh fiber – The “AppData” folder is a special / hidden folder within your user-profile. If you’re trying to navigate there by hand, you won’t actually see this folder inside of Windows Explorer.

There’s two ways to reach these folders of either manually showing hidden files and folders {from Windows Explorer’s settings – under 'View → Options → Change folder and search options → view-tab → “show hidden files, folders, and drives” {radio box selection}' }.
-- When done -- use “Apply to Folders”, rather than just apply, since Windows stores some view settings on a folder by folder basis.

Another method is to do something like follows:

@austere mural – Since you have Nvidia Optimus, your machine has two graphics devices or hybrid-graphics for power-saving purposes.

It sounds like you managed to get yourself switched to an exclusive mode for the Nvidia Graphics Card through reconnecting the second display, and that's the way that you'd want things configured unless you care about battery life and mobility. Probably the internal MUX switch in the notebook couldn’t be engaged when multiple displays were being driven through the integrated graphics.

-- I don’t have an explanation for why NVidia’s drivers were not using the discrete graphics card when Optimus was enabled {given you claimed this was working fine last version -- which means that a profile for QRSL exists}, yet that’s what it sounds like from the description [that the game was running on the Integrated / not using the Nvidia discrete]. Did you by chance happen to look under the Windows Task Manager at GPU utilization between your Integrated and Discrete Graphics?

Especially if your external display is high resolution, 1440p+, an IGP might really struggle to drive the game on that display. Or if the game settings were cranked to the limits. 2fps could be very possible in such a situation since the performance difference between the integrated and discrete will be "massive".

Extra {rather than just saying one way is better with no description}: Why you’d want to use that “Nvidia GPU only” option {have the MUX switch engaged} is that this will actually yield lower latency and BUS usage. It can also translate to 10-15% more FPS under the right conditions.

There’s two ways that running games can work in a hybrid-setup through the discrete GPU:

1. Optimus: The IGP handles the OS compositor and desktop. The discrete GPU renders the ‘game-window’, which then is passed via the system BUS to the IGP, and finally presented to the display by the IGP.

2. MUX switch engaged: The discrete GPU handles everything {the OS compositor, desktop, and game-window}. The discrete GPU renders the game-window, and directly presents it to the display.

-- While splitting load may seem like a good idea, the transfer over the system bus is not cheap, and that takes up bandwidth + adds latency to other transactions that happen over it -- such as the driver communications with the graphics card for rendering the game. The edge of Optimus is when the discrete GPU is not needed at all and can be shut off [when games aren't running].

well, then try to delete the whole folder
· C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor - for standalone
· C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved_Steam\Config\WindowsNoEditor - for steam
if this happens again, try also to re-install or repair after reset the configs (by deleting content in WindowsNoEditor)

...and dont forget that all settings will be set to default (e.g. controls/keys, camera, basic, ...)

Hello, I haven't been playing TOF for a while and uninstalled it back at 2022 ish, now that I reinstalled it and tried to open my account using gmail, it's at level one. I tried playing it and yes, it puts me on the beginning cutscene. My server is adventure server on asia-pacific, I have a screenshot of my account from 2022 with the uid included. How can I solve this issue?

@solar hinge, @stark fox – In the case that anything like Google was used, make sure that you’re testing “both” the external OAuth based Google sign-in (via the Google icon under the typical login prompt), as well as gmail {using the Google account as plain-old-email}.

-- Since this is some time that has elapsed, it’s very common to simply forget the exact method that was used to sign-in.

If this was before Vera (version 2.0) of the game, then it’s possible that you played back before changes were made to the account binding system. Shortly after Vera was released, the ability to directly unbind accounts was removed, and the process made more difficult, eventually being suspended completely. e.g, post Vera’s release {towards the end of 2022}, it became much more difficult for an account to be stolen in the case of compromised login credentials.

→ Regardless which situation yours is, you’ll need to get in touch with Tower of Fantasy’s Customer Support team to get an investigation rolling. {see #game-support }

Being that you do not have access to your account currently, email can be used to begin the support exchange. [directed to -- [e-mail] ] Be sure to include as many details as you can on your account. By the entire PC freezing, does this mean a BSOD, hardlock, or something else of that nature where the entire system goes down?

-- If the entire machine is going down, please check under "%SYSTEMROOT%\minidump" -- and see if there's any ".dmp" files in this location that line up with the lockups that you're seeing. If you can shoot me a DM with any such dumps attached, that might provide a lead on what's happening here. Since it happens under D3D12 only, hardware defect on the GPU side is the first suspect.

One big difference playing under D3D12, is that constraints that may exist under D3D11 may be alleviated {lower CPU overhead, more frames being pumped out}. The hardware thus may be pushed significantly harder to the point that a defect shows. [there are some exceptions here such as if you're on older hardware, where it also can be driver related-]

Hey uhm sorry to bother but how do i fix this? when i got TOF mid 2022 this never happened to me. It just loads to 100 but doesn't actually move on forward from this screen, to let me in the game. I've tried waiting for it for like 1-2 hours, and restarted my computer countless of times but nothing changed.

Not a BSOD, im not entirely sure its a hardlock either. Basically the freeze slows the computer down to the point where it looks like its frozen. When i press capslock the capslock light does come on, and i can move my mouse extremely slowly and access task manager a couple minutes later. Thats why i think its on the software side, because frankly i have some overkill hardware and i have even recently replaced my gpu because of a faulty one before. So unless its also another dud that shouldnt be it. If minidump is still the way to go i can get it to you asap once i get on my pc

I do have a third party Anti-Virus system on my PC except it has never caused a problem before, I always had it and TOF worked fine. I could play TOF after the Innars update for a while but then suddenly the error occurred. I guess I'll have to contact customer support. thanks for the help anyways!

me and another person has exactly the same issue (both Vera portal and chapter 1-05 at 88% bug) please contact support as it will help get us more attention. currently there is no known fix as this seems to be a new thing or something that a very few people like us are going through. I've contacted cs and given all the details as much as I could and they told me they sent the relevant info to devs but make sure you do the same as more people means more chances of a solution sooner. it'll be a waiting game from now on 🥹

Scroll through the Settings and find the app you want to clear the cache of
Select the app and once again scroll to the bottom of the page
Now here you’ll find a toggle named ‘Clear temp data on next start’
Turn it on and launch that particular app from the homescreen to get rid of its cache
