@grizzled pollen – Yep, Windows Update replacing drivers is sadly very common, especially if you’re on legacy hardware.

Which card specifically are you on? As long as it still has maintained drivers, the drivers should carry a newer date than those in the Windows Update Catalog, and WUA respect that newer date.

Noticed your image under bug-reports, which looks very common for artifacts that would be seen on Intel IGP's. Is the "lag" that you're mentioning the performance kind, and not network / latency?

There might not be much that can be done about your performance or those artifacts for that matter -- at least not if you're lacking a discrete GPU ontop of the integrated. Will DM you to collect more details on your hardware just incase, and to see if any upgrade options are possible.

Account retrieval would have to go through Tower of Fantasy's support. In this case, given you can't log into your account, you may do this via email at:

Possible that you could explain what you're experiencing? For instance, if the game is slow, choppy, stuttering, or if actions seem 'delayed' (such as damage numbers coming up on contacting enemies). Lag is used pretty loosely, so we'll need to first establish what you're feeling.

Set Anti-Aliasing to 'none', and DoF should work.

Since you're using DLSS, that already will provide an AA effect, so this shouldn't degrade quality much if at all.

I'll admit that I've not recently retested DoF with DLSS active. That looks like a reduced render target artifact though.

It might be necessary for DLSS to be set to 'close' as well. {or, to restart the client with the unnamed slider at the bottom of the display settings -- in the absence of DLSS -- 'off'}

Restarting the client after turning off AA and the unnamed slider makes DoF work as intended.

After that, I turned on the unnamed slider and restarted again. DoF still works.

Fiddling with the settings some more, the "reduced render target" bug is reproducable. However, I actually want to keep it like this now since it increases my FPS and the resolution change is not noticeable.

@wispy drift – The team does already track details such as these {IP’s are logged}, and that’s one of the reasons that for account recoveries that connection origin (where a person typically plays from) is one of the first questions asked.

Unfortunately, the ability to easily unbind accounts, and in effect ‘take’ accounts, provides a strong incentive for unscrupulous individuals to try to break in to them. You could view this as a tradeoff in effect for now in that it eliminates much of this incentive.

-- Not trying to justify the systems that be remaining this way, yet it’s something that could readily {quickly and with minimal change} be done to better protect the playerbase.

After the Vera Update (2.0), the ability to unbind sign-in methods was removed from the Account Center for the sake of security. For some time, this was instead provided via contacting Customer Support, yet the automated contact form has closed.

You'll find some posts on this from myself and Clara above.

-- If this is critical, like if you suspect someone else has access to your account, support would still assist you of course. If you're still under control of the account and it's less urgent, you might need to wait for revisions to the binding system.

One more comment here, if this is a case of account compromise, where you know {or suspect} someone is on your account --- try to open the support exchange via email rather than ingame. [from a known secure address and a device that's known to be clean]

The ingame / helpdesk system the attacker might be able to interact with. You'll need to provide proof of ownership of the account -- so be prepared for this as well with everything that you can gather: including but not limited to common connection region, IP's that you've signed in through in the past, bank transaction records, and so on.

Hey guys, since the last patch I have not been able to play the game on PC. I login to the launcher and when I hit launch I get "game progress creation failed: 1400004" Have have verified files, I have reinstalled 3 times and have even cleared the app data folders before the reinstall and this still happens.
Switching back to DX11 doesn't help. There is NO repair option in the launcher.

@gusty field – Whenever the graphics settings are cranked sufficiently high, shaders are used to add light-refractions to glass rather than just a translucent-texture. The wavy {stairstepping} distortion of objects through the glass that you’re seeing is supposed to look better. However, this is of course something subjective to the eyes of the viewer.

@turbid raptor – Yes, a game account can be bound to as many of the sign-in providers as you’d like at the same time. Having two bound is not a bad idea {recommended} to minimize the chance of getting locked out.

Make sure that you’re follow good security practices on all bindings of course. {Steam Guard + TFA on your Google Account}

@hasty tide – Immediately following the release of Vera {2.0 Update}, account bindings were restricted to improve account security. {the removal of the ability to unbind an account without going through Customer Support} Since your last message before inactivity {judging from the Discord} was from 8/15, this would be before 2.0 dropped, and before those changes went in.

-- There’s a chance that your account might have been compromised and that an attacker may have re-bound it to another sign-in method.

Before concluding that’s what happened though, please double-check how you’re signing into the game. For example, a common mistake is using a Google Account as plain-old-email rather than accessing it through Google’s external OAuth sign-in provider {via the Google-icon at the bottom of the launcher}.

If you’re absolutely certain that your login method is the same as before, then you’ll unfortunately need to contact Customer Support here to start an investigation into what happened. {see #game-support } After proving ownership of the account, they should be able to assist you in finding out if a rebinding happened, if you’re signing into the right account, or otherwise get to the bottom of where your characters went.

@marble moth – Where exactly ingame are you attempting to chat where you’re receiving these messages? Were you able to communicate normally at some point on the account?

-- One potential is that this is an age-related chat restriction. ← if that’s the case and in error {that you're not a minor}, you might need to have Customer Support make a correction on the account.

Searching your message history, it sounds like you're asking for others to search for your character's UID, which I assume means that the client is behaving as if you don't have your character on your account. {that one or more characters are missing}

I am getting this error for the last 3-4 days now since the last ToF patch. I have tried the steam client and the windows stand-alone client and they give the same error even after reinstalled & repaired. DX11 & 12 setting make no difference. Drivers up to date. ToF Support said to reinstall windows but I see no reason why when it is only ToF that isn't working (all other games and software work). It worked PERFECTLY fine before the latest patch and I have been playing the game since launch. IOS & Android also work fine. Does anyone have any ideas 😦 ?

The reason being that they only fixed it in late 2.4 after implementing the menu navigation via controller update. So depending on how ingrained the fix is into that new system, we might not even see a fix this patch.

Just letting all APAC server people know (FYI) that for some reason, AP server is hosted in Singapore - which makes no sense. After triangulating multiple latency data, managed to pinpoint to Singapore. Feel this is a huge scam from Level Infinite for misinforming players. SEA has it's own dedicated region, so it doesn't make any logical sense to be hosted in Singapore which is in SEA. Folks playing for ANZ/OCE will be getting latency above 200ms while, folks in Japan will be getting ~100ms+. This doesn't make sense since a chunk of players in AP are from Japan.

Ow your GPU is a GT 1030... My bad dlss doesn't work with that. Ummmm only thing I can say then, since it's an old, not too powerful GPU, try turning town texture and material quality, and turn of shading. Will help reduce gpu memory usage, beside that it's just the game been poorly optimized and runs bad on low spec PCs :/

This blue circle has ruined the entire game play since i started playing TOF it roams around the screen clicking random things whilst fighting and makes it impossible to even use the short cut wheel, I have made several posts on this subject with no real response this has been posted by 1000s of players having the same issue, most stopped playing because of it including a few people i started the game with all are not free to play we all have spent money on subs etc, if nothing is done i will just stop playing and take my guild someplace else.

Hey, I figured out abt (as I thought) server errors.
I had 2 main characters blocked on PC (it worked on other devices) so I used my 3rd character till today. I finished Asperia's story and moved to Vera. Everything was cool until I flew to Mirroria. My game shut down.
Connecting dots, I moved my main character from Mirroria to Asperia (using my phone). The game let me into the server on PC first time in forever.
Soo... I thought I shared that. Maybe it will be of use to someone.

heyy, update from my end. Managed to get it to start! I changed my download servers to Vietnam, and flushed my DNS cache right after I clicked on update! if you're on Windows, you can open CMD and type ipconfig /flushdns to do so. Hope it helps :)

@boreal wraith – The high VRAM is somewhat expected on a GT1030, given it only has 2GB of dedicated memory. That said, this would only matter if asset swapping was happening to the shared region. {which it looks like from your screenshot is only minor}

I note 53 fps shown in the corner of the HUD, yet that utilization is indeed much lower than I’d expect. Suspect the task manager shown utilization may be wrong.

On your other question -- doubt that this is a CPU choke. Can’t really tell from the screenshot provided as your graphs are set to “overall utilization” {rather than per logical core}. Clocks look low though {e.g, not under boost}.
System Memory consumption looks a little high, can’t see the memory tab in screenshot to see how much Windows Memory Compression (virtual swap) is being used. You’re close to the high memory pressure threshold though {reservation limit}, so this is one possibility that the machine is swap-thrashing.

Ah, if it's the first time playing -- probably won't be much different unfortunately. But yes, the make, model, and OS version would be of aid for the dev team. Since it's a fresh device, it's also likely not something specific to your setup here.

Probably on purchase it came with the latest OS version, yet also make sure that you double check if there's any OTA updates for it. Newer OS builds would contain newer drivers for the SoC, and might change things.

Since Vera’s release (2.0), the ability to unbind a sign-in method through the ‘Account Center’ was removed {for the sake of user safety}. From what I know there is a 200mb or so texture cache that the game is set to that they have not reconfigured leading to garbage low rez textures sticking around until time passes or coming back another way. If you are already playing at highest textures theres nothing you can do but wait on clown devs.

Hello, I am trying for help here because contacting the ingame support with this doesnt seem to be resulting in any reply or assistance. Since before the release of 2.3 on all platforms (PC and mobile) my character cannot teleport and has significant difficulties getting into a raid. Hello folks. I own a redmi note 11 global version. The game is crashing my whole phone on the loading screen at 90% (after the server screen)
So far I tried restarting my phone. turning my screen to 60hz refresh (was 90) run game with or without the game booster. Clear cache and reinstall the game. Anyone having any clue? My phone does not have the recommended specs but it has something more than the minimum and also I searched a game play test on YouTube and I see people playing the game on redmi note 11 with no issues.

Before I report it, I just wanted to see if they are already aware of two translation errors/bugs with Alyss. Her skill descript states she gains hyperbody while Chilling Field is active which is wrong, she doesn't. Second is that she gains a buff that makes her immune during her next charge attack after a skill use. This is supposed to also be after she exits her laten state(the fairy form), but doing so does not give her that invuln buff for the charge attack.

What are you looking for in a server in SEA? Are you looking for a server with mainly English speakers? It seems that generally Aestral-Noa has mainly an English speaking playerbase as well as having a larger playerbase. Aeria has the largest population but many of the players apparently don't mainly speak English.

I also got an issue with ToF on PC (since yesterday) - after the initial brand logos (Level Infinite and Hotta) the game just freezes with a black screen.
Tried reinstalling but doesn't seem to help

How long can take to transfer a character to another server?

About an hour ago I started a character transfer to another server and was thrown to the server selection screen. However, there are still no inscriptions about the current transfer - in the "Character Owned" tab I still see the old name of the server and the name of my character. The login button to the old server is also available, but when I accidentally clicked on it, I saw a splash screen at the beginning of the game. I'm a little worried.

All players involved in the instance experienced that lag at the same time, correct? Is there ever an exception where some of the people you're partying with do not experience it concurrently?

yeah it happen sometimes there is 1 or maybe 2 ppl can play normally, when im not lagging my other friends are lagging even today when we tried new void abyss (after reset monthly) 4 of us had same exact issues cant basic atk cant dash but can move freely, boss not moving at all but still doing dmg

If it's not effecting everyone in tandem all the time, then it's likely routing related in some way -- despite that it impacts only certain instances for you. If you're able to, try to gather the ISP, connection region, and IP addresses of yourself and friends that you play with that experience the problem (concurrently).

@modern egret – Start by resetting your CPE {modem, router, and any other Internet equipment}, just to rule out equipment malfunction. If it persists, then given you’ve not had trouble before and this started abruptly – it’s probably “routing related”. {meaning a problem with some gateway between yourself and the game-servers}

-- Routing issues tend to clear up on their own just as abruptly as they start, and that’s likely what will happen here. However, if it doesn’t clear up and connection remains intermittent / unstable, then you’ll need to get your ISP and Tower of Fantasy’s support involved.

In the case of the ISP, you'd want to explain the service that you're having connectivity issues with (e.g, mention Tower of Fantasy), and when contacting Tower of Fantasy's support, you'd want to provide details on your ISP / where you're connecting from [along with your IP address].

^ The goal is to have both ends (your Internet Provider and Tower of Fantasy's support) look at routing in each direction, and hope that something problematic is found (in either direction).

we were all from sea region country (Indonesia) had different ISP but playing at apac region, but if region really affect us that much why is it only at void abyss? when we try raid/fch/jo/even void rift its perfectly fine theres lag sometimes but not like its unplayable like void abyss
anyway i know how to search IP address but what is connection region?

By region I just mean physically where you live {Indonesia}, and the game-servers that you're playing on. (APAC in this case)
-- Despite being on different Internet Providers, there's likely something in common with the peering that each of you are playing on. {that you've gateways in common}

Don't have an answer on the other part, yet have seen many situations where people lag only on very specific instance servers.

Once you have that information gathered, do make sure to contact Customer Support and include everything accumulated in your report. There are some things that support can grant you permission to try (in an effort to narrow things down}, some of which may otherwise be against the user-agreement.

already did contacting cs via in game but they only asked abt updating all my driver (which is always updated) trying to connect via ethernet cabel (not working) check repair from launcher and then reinstalling launcher then reinstalling game (not work either) lowering my setting (which is at lowest setting except fps i set it at 60)

Ah, knowing that it impacts multiple players concurrently -- I'm less inclined to think it's your setup or equipment.

However, what's shown in the video does look like common artifacts of packetloss.

yeah however it seems my friend who plays on mobile devices (android) doesnt affect that much like pc user did, even though he play on wifi just like rest of us not using his mobile data

Has that friend played from the same connection (physically) as you (or the others)? If not, same Internet Provider, or at least same general area?

If they're local and a real-life friend that you know in person, it might be interesting to invite them to come play from your connection on that mobile device. e.g, on the supposition that it's "connection" caused, their mobile device should be effected just like the PC client.

yes he played with other with same wifi conection but my other friend who played on pc got this issues and he (mobile user) doesnt affect that much he still can dash, atk, and see where boss is going he only got lag occasionally
