If the steam launcher forces DX11 and the standalone launcher doesnt,they should just replace the steam launcher with their old one.
This is a steam-only issue,i dont have it with the standalone launcher.
You can also download same 3 files with Depotdownloader tool from steam.

I mean,i experience performance issues with both,the steam and standalone version,but steam is much worse which is why i avoid it.
If youre patient and you want to be on the safe side without messing around with game files,i guess you can wait.
As for me,i spent too much on the game already to risk getting banned,so i wont use this fix unless devs officially approve of it,or just fix this on their own.
What bothers me isnt that we have to wait for a fix,what bothers me is that the devs dont tell us anything,they could at least tell us if they are aware of the performance issues and if they are working on them or not.

Yes steam version and PC launcher version for windows, but I am not sure how good it will run on wine since you want newest directx12 support to have more or less lagfree experience.

I've seen people reporting this, although mostly it was in fullscreen mode and with two or more monitors. Would recommend considering this a bug-report / improper behavior in the way the game's input hooks are being employed. [assuming it's happening during mouse-look]
Of curiosity, what framerate are you getting in the game? On each frame, usually the mouse cursor is reverted back to the window's center when actively mouse-looking.

3 weeks ago looks in-line with your post on 10/6, which would be before Vera. During the 2.0 / Vera Update, the way that unbinding of accounts was handled was changed {for security reasons}. -- This now requires going through customer support, and isn't directly possible from the Account Center anymore.
-- It's possible that you've been hit with a case of account theft, and that your game-account was unbound from your sign-in method.
Essentially for any situation like this, you'll need to file a support ticket and have customer support investigate what happened. Before doing that, make sure that you double check that the account that you're signing in to is indeed the one that you used before, that you're on the correct world-server, region, etc.
To contact support, this will need to be done via email -- in that the game-account association if you make a new character, is unlikely to match. That email address is:

Be sure to include as much details on your game-account as you can. The last time that you’ve signed into it, where you login from {regionally – country, state, etc}, the character name, UID, and server that you play on, any details that you can on financial transactions (such as from your bank’s side), etc.
Support will ask you for these details, yet the more that you can provide them upfront, the better. In effect they’ll need something to go on in order to locate your game-account, associated character(s), and to investigate what exactly happened.

@quick holly – Yes, it’s possible to run the game on Intel HD Graphics, including the older models. However, the older Intel HD Graphics are known to exhibit a heavy-amount of visual artifacts, tend to need some workarounds for driver-stability (such as increasing the Windows’ TDR-Delay), and not perform the best.
- If you encounter any game-crashes or other oddities, please feel free to DM me for assistance.
That said, the YouTube video that you’ve linked has an archive of a slew of config files. Of these files, there’s workarounds employed that are no longer needed [at least currently] post Vera Update, in that the Engine is by default dropped down to D3D11. Additionally, some of the settings in there no longer have any effect.
We would prefer that players not distribute an entire folder of modified config files, and that changes be kept to a minimum. -- So we’ll be removing that video’s link.

- Has she tried restarting all Internet equipment (modem, router, etc)?
- Was her disconnection immediately following entrance to instanced content for the story? {e.g, is her character stuck within an instance right now?}
- Can she access other world-servers within the same region / datacenter?
From the description it sounds like just an abrupt disconnect, and not specifically after instance entry. Usually these are connection related and clear up as abruptly as they begin.
@verbal meteor – Normally the launcher clears all temporary files on its own after an update is applied. It sounds like your game folder is 50GB though, so this is definitely a bug / should not happen.
Could you send me a breakdown of the sizes of each subfolder that you’re seeing under \Tower of Fantasy\ (over DM’s). That could either just be written out and done by hand, or with any tool such as SpaceSniffer, windirstat, WizTree, or any other that you prefer here.
@hoary forum – Most common reason for the game-process not launching is a rights / elevation issue. Interesting that this started abruptly though.
Couple questions:
Do you remember what the trigger was? Was this after a game update, a Windows Update, drivers?
Are you getting a UAC prompt for elevation on clicking to launch the game? Have you tried running the launcher {and or Steam itself} with admin elevation explicitly {e.g, right-click / run as admin}?

but still stuttering from time to time

By chance do you have any of VoiceMeeter's products installed on the machine? Assuming you're never greeted with the splash screen, don't hear any audio, etc.

It's not directly blocked (meaning the restriction is not intentional), yet there's an interaction between UE4's audio system (sound initialization) and VB's virtual audio devices.
Basically, the game hangs the moment that audio is initialized. e.g, you won't get in trouble for attempting to use VB's products, but they may cause serious complications with the game stability wise. {even if the game starts successfully, it may hang on anything that causes audio reinitialization -- for some people, the game doesn't hang, yet audio just stops working}

Neither since 2.0 / Vera rolled out. Unbinding of an account requires the ability to prove ownership of the account. It requires going through customer support and filling out a variety of details that probably only the true owner will be able to.

@shell iron -- The disk thrashing / high IO activity is probably swapfile use after running out of memory. Do you happen to be on an NVidia RTX Graphics Card? If yes, this might be a DLSS interaction caused memory leak that you're seeing.
@primal nimbus -- Is the freeze on every launch of the game? Or Intermittent? Do you recall any trigger that happened before this started?
@odd kite -- What exactly happens whenever you attempt to start the game? Do you get a game window shown briefly? Any error messages thrown?
i have a bit of a history with this freeze.
it plagued me for the first few days from launch and i remedied it by repairing files every time i want to launch the game
it behaved itself after some time passed,
and lately it's resurfaced.
i repaired files thinking it would help a little with stutter since the sakifuwa banner launch only for the freeze to start happening again
i repaired files last night and tried removing the level infinite and hotta clips from the game files. game started nicely.
this morning, i tried launching the game and it gave me a black screen. so i decided to restore and repair.
now the game will incessantly freeze in the infinite logo clip.
the game's behaved after a reboot, though, but i am worried for the next time it chooses to freeze on me
Ah, I was just about to recommend that you attempt wiping out "\Tower of Fantasy\Hotta\Binaries\Win64\*", then performing another repair. However, you succeeded in starting the game -- so this is unlikely.
I'm going to assume from the description that the repair permitting entry is coincidental here. Does your machine happen to have an NVidia RTX Graphics Card?

I did encounter a problem though, it seems that my account is gone, I was able to play the game earlier but now, its completely gone. This happens to me very often these days. No idea, but it's even caused me to have a bluescreen. I use a 3080TI. Updated to newest version, so I know it's the game that causes it. As I have never once gotten such an error until playing this game.
But lately is seems the game overall is suffering many issues. I have constant instability issues, frame fluctuations, random crashes, has not been a great time lately.

I just noticed that Unable to connect is happening in a set period for me - every xx:26 or 27th minute i am getting this popup. Every hour, without exception.
And additionally there are also couple weird things happening :
#1 My internet is performing perfectly. I sound perfect to my friends during that period. Doing a ping test against Cloudfare during that period also returns 0 packet loss. No reduced download speed either (although it's not indication of inet drop but 0 packet loss is already good enough indicator)
#2 The game itself disconnects in a weird way. During the release when there were big fights - like with Sobek you would lag a lot to a point where damage numbers were not popping, people were not reacting. Even when i used wifi during Vera i noticed that if you inet actually drops the game just does inet lags like any other game - players walking in one direction, boss not taking damage, skills not working perfectly. BUT this stupid popup happens INSTANTLY. You are hitting a boss without any indication of lag and boom you get "disconnected". What's even funnier is that you still take damage as normal if you don't press OK to reconnect.
#3 Both #1 and #2 point gives me strong indication that game "Client -> Server" logic is crashing and not because there is an actual disconnect happening.
EDIT:
forgot to mention another thing :
#4 - if you reconnect during JO or any co-op instance you will additionally crash in 3 minutes of reconnecting (2 or 3 minutes, not sure)

During certain instances of combat, my camera will slowly pan up, to a top down view of myself. It ONLY happens in combat (but not all the time, usually in joint ops). Same here - been experiencing this for over a month already. On my case, this error pops up nonstop starting 7 PM my time that will last for about 12 hours. Told CS about this but they do never guarantee any fix at all. 🤷🏻♂️🫤
@dense cliff – This is more a question of what temperature the phone gets uncomfortable for you at.
45c is a perfectly safe operating temperature for prolonged play, even 50c would be for that matter. As the device climbs in temps, it might be less comfortable to use though. The larger concern is the battery temperature [that’s what you want to watch], yet the SoC itself is pretty safe to even run at 70c.
Granted, the device would not be comfortable to handle if it gets too hot. That’ll happen far before you hit temperatures that can really damage anything.
@light bay – Yes, you've a 4600G {desktop processor}, which will actually run the game extremely well. There won’t be any driver issues either, and you have ample memory.
@odd kite – You hear the game, the window opens briefly, and then immediately closes at the splash. Excellent, that implies the engine is far enough along that it’ll probably be recording crash-dumps.
Take a look under "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Crashes" and see if you see any folders in this location. [or, Saved_Steam, if the Steam version]
If you can archive a couple of the most recent of these crash-dump folders {e.g, with winrar, winzip, 7zip, etc} and send me them (via DM's) -- would be glad to take a look and see if we can figure out what's going on here.
@sly parrot – Blackscreen crashes. Gut feeling is that sounds more like the entire system going down, yet would need more details here.
Is it just the game that’s crashing? Does the game hang, close completely, or the entire computer go down / lose display?
If the entire machine is going down {first assumption}, do you hear anything during this time such as a buzzing sound, looping audio, or anything else? Does the machine automatically restart, or does it need to be manually powered down and rebooted? If you need to power down the machine, is tapping the power button sufficient, or do you need a long hold, or to manually cycle the supply?

@brave rapids – I see some past screenshots from you that are on mobile, and so I probably wouldn’t be able to help much in this respect. Double checking here just the same: What platform are the grayspace crashes under?
@hasty tide – If support changed the associated email-address, then your prior bound email-address would behave as if it was a new-account. [looking as if all characters were gone]
- You would need to sign-in with the newer credentials that you requested the account to be moved over to, or with the alternate binding that you made while requesting the prior to be removed.
Are you saying that these credentials also do not work, and that other sign-in methods that were bound (to the same game-account), are also not working / behaving as if they’re separately created new-accounts? That would be concerning.

By "DLSS all time active bug", do you mean that DLSS is active on-startup regardless the contents of 'GameUserSettings.ini', and despite that you exited the game after disabling DLSS?
- Yes, this is a known issue. You'll find a workaround in a pin on this topic [to shut off the NGX library that DLSS support requires].

Depth of field in camera mode hasnt worked for me for over a month, looking at older messages Im not the only one but I cant find a solution for it. It does work when you turn off anti aliasing for some reason. Repairing the game did nothing.

yeah, i'd suggest lowering settings some more then, especially textures and shadows. I had the same gpu before and it had no problems even with intense games at medium settings, like Black Desert

The Windows Resource Monitor or your router’s state-table could be used to get the servers that you’re connected to, and you could then probe up to final-hop. (Albeit, the game servers block ICMP, and this may not be representative of what you’re experiencing ingame)
@oblique flint -- If you did not receive the first time bonus on a purchase, and you're certain of this -- then you'll need to open a ticket {via the ingame helpdesk} and request that support investigate what happened. See #game-support for more details on how to do this.
Assuming that something did go wrong, support will eventually get you your lost goods.

@hasty tide – Despite your “nevermind”, double-checking here that the problem was with drivers. {e.g, that Windows Update broke your driver-installation, or something along those lines, and that you’ve fixed this through reinstalling NVidia’s drivers}
@rugged elbow – If you’re getting the error before being able to complete a login, at-all, there’s a pin precisely on this topic with a more permanent solution. It seems that a reddit thread was posted with a customer support response in-line with this as well.
@amber osprey – Unfortunately, it’s not currently possible to run Tower of Fantasy under Linux {on Steam}, even with the Proton Compatibility-Layer forced unofficially.
@dry dust – Since you have an RTX 2070, the memory leak that you’re facing is being caused by DLSS {more likely than not}. If you’re able to enter the game and disable DLSS, that will suffice. For some people that’s not possible. In those cases completely shutting off the engine’s NGX support may be a better option.

Ah, in this case it's more a question of the anti-cheat. In the beta {before that was integrated}, the game actually did run under Proton for that matter. However, of course the game would need official support here.

We would caution against the use of gshade (or reshade for that matter). Neither project uses signed binaries, and both are proxy DLL hook injectors -- they may trip the anti-cheat {even if some versions were explicitly whitelisted}.
This is not even going into whether or not these provide an advantage, just in that their method of action is modifying the game's behavior / patching the client, which is against the user-agreement.

Rather than attempting to use software on "burner accounts", consider contacting customer support whenever you want to know whether or not anything is allowed.
However, from a direct interpretation stance of the rules -- unless an exception is provided, this is not allowed. Any software that directly tampers with the client, is explicitly outlawed.

Yea lag issue. It is somewhat similar to any fps game, where difference in ping doesn't register hits

there's 2 way to do it:
- u trigger phantasm → open the hologram and make sure it's inside the phantasm → do a discharge & your holo will do it too
- u trigger a phantasm while your hologram is inside of it → do a discharge
go do it your self if u not trust me, there's literally vids in youtube too that cover about it 🤣
The thing is when its inside phantasm it copy your discharge yes but this part is a bug.

Sounds like you're unable to click continue. Is there any visual indication that the button is actually hit?
One possibility that I can think of offhand, is if you have any software installed that has an 'overlay' such as Lux. I'm aware that Android will prevent clicking on Google Security prompts if there's any potential that the screen output is obscured / altered.

Hey I saw that you said you DC alot and are from Malaysia. I'm willing to bet your ISP is Unifi Malaysia or ISP that uses the same infrastructure as Unifi.
The issue started around the release of 2.0 Vera so 20 October 2022. Me and several of my crewmates that use Unifi throughout the day will have periods of lag such as chat delay, pickup delay and eventually DC with the message "Unable to connect to the server. Keep trying?". We would attempt to reconnect 2x before being allowed back in.
It might be an ISP issue since many of us affected all use Unifi but the fact that ONLY TOF has issues make me think TOF is also at fault.
The only workaround currently that I know of is to use a VPN or play at late hours around after 1:30 AM GMT+8 as it stops having issues in the late hours and will start having issues again at around 11:00 AM GMT+8.
I made a thread on a forum called reddit discussing the issues and you can see multiple people facing the same issues as well as several replies from the TOF NA Community Manager.

The problem may very well be in either direction {being that data may flow a different route each-way}. Hard to say here and would be best to try to get both parties involved if you've not already.

Yeah its hard to say, I think its both at fault. The ISP Unifi Malaysia is pretty bad, but ONLY TOF has issues even if my connection is stable and smooth during other online interactions such as other games and videos so it makes me suspect that TOF server is at fault somehow.
TOF Support claimed its an ISP issue as well but again ONLY TOF has issues.
There's probably other services that are effected too. Minimally anything hosted in / within the datacenter(s) that the game-servers are ran out of, possibly more. Just haven't ran into them.
Someone in the thread I made had a theory that its something wrong with the connection between the ISP and Tencent Cloud where TOF is hosted for us but I'm not sure if its correct
That's the beauty of the Internet, in that it's a mesh-network of interconnected gateways by its nature. It's very possible to have path problems to one specific game, whereas everything else that you play runs fine. Being that there's a large choice of datacenters and bandwidth mixtures / peering, even within a DC, and the routing conditions of each game may actually be radically different. {even if they're close by regionally}
Its really hard to convince either TOF or ISP that something is wrong on their end though, both will blame consumers first so I need some kind of evidence that something is wrong to prove it
If you've found a collection of folks on the same ISP or in the same area, that's a very good start. With enough reports (from them collectively), that should get you enough leverage to start some investigation going -- especially on the ISP's side.
Most of the people in the thread I made that face the same issue are the same ISP, my crewmates with the same ISP or ISP that use the same infrastructure also have the issue
Even if we all reported together, not sure if they will believe and do anything though cause they might still blame us consumer or TOF
Possibly, though each end can control its outbound traffic flow to some degree {on a per destination basis} with what's referred to as a "routing shunt". It's just a matter of figuring out in which direction your packet-loss is coming from, and where.
Well is there a way to find that out? Evidence to prove which party is at fault

Kindof --- you can only look into the outbound flow from your ISP to the game-servers, and the DC {or Tower of Fantasy's team} has to look into the reverse direction back to you. There's not a foolproof way without the involvement of both parties.

I wouldn't say that's a gaming laptop, that's just an APU, it doesn't have a dedicated graphic card in it. But at the same time it should be enough to run the game, prolly your laptop is overheating or something

A 5600H (and generally any AMD APU) is sufficient to run the game, though the shared VRAM puts you a bit tight in the memory department as Indomie Goreng hinted at.
Take a look under "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Crashes" and see if you see any folders in this location. [or, Saved_Steam, if the Steam version]
If you can archive a couple of the most recent of these crash-dump folders {e.g, with winrar, winzip, 7zip, etc} and send me them (via DM's) -- would be glad to take a look and see if we can figure out what's going on here.
@trail hound – Indeed, if that laptop is at 8GB, then odds are it’s running in single-channel mode. Integrated Graphics loves memory-bandwidth {generally being starved for it}, and moving up to dual-channel tends to net another 30-40% average framerate easily.
@unkempt sequoia – Known issue {effects everyone}, unfortunately there’s not a way to correct the text-alignment or size currently {the overlap that you’re seeing in the menus}.
@pale canyon – 3-4 minutes is quite specific, especially if you're not seeing other symptoms of connection problems {lag, packet-loss, etc}. 5 minutes for example is a very standard router state-table session timeout.
Tried rebooting all Internet Equipment already? I know that you’ve stated that nothing else is impacted, yet the timing is enough to double check here.

If you've already done that, do you have access to any other form of Internet Connectivity that you may try? (for instance, Cellular Tethering) Just to try to narrow things down, not proposing that you burn your quota here.

I also hate sounding like a broken record on recommending simple-fixes. However, sometimes a restart of everything does get things working.
It may well not be that this is the problem.

If you were able to play before, it's not a region lock most likely [doubtful that you're blocked]. Though it could be a temporary network / path issue where the servers are just not reachable.

Excellent, then you're likely all set. Be aware that it may take them a few days, yet the team plugs through those tickets quickly as they can.
If someone is accessing your account, customer support are the only ones that'll be able to evict them. It sounds like you've already a ticket open presumably for this.
In such a circumstance (account breach) -- we'd recommend sticking to email based contact, so that the attacker cannot view your tickets. e.g, if the ingame helpdesk is used -- they would be able to view your exchanges and gain personal details in that manner.
Securing all associated accounts that are used for sign-in is a good idea and changing credentials. However, if a person has checked to "Stay logged in", or not otherwise ended their session, then this will persist. {through password changes, etc}

nah my ram is fine, it used like 5gb at most. the freeze always happen sometime after DC especially during loading screen, but just now it's freezing even when i open the bag

Thats cause DLSS mem leaks no, amd doesnt have DLSS, 13gb sounds about right when ur game crashed with 16gb. The game should use no more than 5gb of ram

I bought the monthly pass twice and got only 300 tanium

To unbind your account, please contact CS in-game [Settings > Customer Service > Click the icon on the right corner of the screen > Unbinding of Linked Accounts] and fill out the form provided there in order to send them all the required details

@trim iron @remote cradle @junior musk @vague geyser Seen you all were having that same issue I was having when trying to log in and you get "Abnormal parameter in request (3101)" Just logging in and out of your account on the launcher seems to have fixed it for me. Sorry for the pings, just wanted to try to help with what fixed it for me.

For instance, does the game crash shortly after interacting with the link? That said, it sounds like you’ve used email, and that’s totally fine as well-

Message responded to was same-day, though admittedly in the morning -- and it's night now. Didn't see a suitable answer in the daily scan through everything.
Each day I read through everything that's posted in this channel. You could say that I save / use the read marker -- yep.
Anyway, if your memory leak wasn't DLSS of course let me know too. There are a few other culprits / software interactions (usually OSD's), though it's much less common.
Thanks @radiant edge and @hasty geyser For helping me out with my black screen frees after the Hotta window when launching the game.
It turned out my drivers needed some updating here and there, even though Device manager was telling me it was all up-to date...
Some advice for other people that will run into this issue: Don't trust Microsoft... just update your drivers anyway.
Easiest way to explain what a Custom Account is, is probably to call it "plain-old-email".
There's two types of sign-in methods in the launcher: Third-party OAuth based login systems that are external {Google, Facebook, Twitter, Steam, etc}, and then plain old email + password {e.g, the launcher's fields shown up-front}.

I highly doubt there are still people who got hacked mouths ago waiting but still I'm gonna say it.
After waiting for two months after the wave of hack that got my account, I'm still currently not in possession of it.
So I hope this message will help as a warning for those still waiting.
If after two months there is still no news at all, there won't ever be do not trust the dev team of this game it's not worth it.
If you got your custom account the same way as me, know that I didn't want to give up after spending money, but I'm doing it anyway.
So if there are still people hoping to get their account back I wish you best luck, for those for still have doubt about getting it back know that it is a lost cause (To me, and many other players at least)
My account didn't get hacked I just want to unbind my custom acc email address but seems like thats also too hard to solve like if they are afraid they might fck it up just send a verify email to both address to see the guy surely possess both email account so then its almost 100% not a hack

I've never lowered my multiplier to 1. I play every Saturday. Because Saturday is the day that will have a full stack x3
I guess if anyone has never pressed into a window of that mode X3 is not remembered, but use X1 is defaulted.
Because when I encountered this problem i play with friends and a friend presses the button to start the game Makes me not press into the window of that mode.
But if we press into the window of that mode The game automatically selects the maximum number of stacks we have.
I think the game might need to fix this by setting the maximum stacks a player can have. I use all of them. without the player needing to press into the window of that mode first
