so I've seen way too many posts about people supposedly "getting hacked" and losing their accounts and I feel like I'm too invested in this game to risk that happening to myself so I want to take the necessary steps to protect my account but before I do so I just had some questions:

1. anyone have a video of the process that they could link here? I really don't want to accidentally do something incorrectly and lose my account

2. after doing it will I still be able to automatically login or will I have to do it manually every time I open the launcher?

3. which account method will I use to login after doing it?

and finally 4. after doing it will I still be able to log in on mobile? I usually play on pc but occasionally login on mobile sometimes

1. Close the launcher, check on your system tray/task manager if there's still anything related to the game to force close

2. Locate the folder of C:\Users*YourUsername*\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
   (if the AppData folder is hidden, locate the 'View' tab on the file explorer, and checklist the 'Hidden items' option)

*If the game launcher doesn't get far enough in launching the game and it doesn't generate folder beyond Hotta\Saved, please create a new Windows user profile with admin privileges and try to reinstall both the game launcher and game on the same drive, preferably C: Drive.

3. Create a notepad file in that folder, and copy these two lines exactly into the notepad:

bPreferD3D12InGame=False

4. Save the file as: GameUserSettings.ini (it has to be .ini, not a .txt)
   (make sure that there's no additional spacing in the lines, no space before [D3DRHIPreference], etc. You can also check on the Properties of the file that the Read-only option is unchecked.)

5. If you launched the game previously before it started crashing, you may see an existing file. Add the two lines string with the D3D12 option at the bottom of everything else, as in the example below: (you may have to check the Read-only option on the Properties of the file)

Does anyone play on phone? It takes a lot of time to transmit to places and sometimes the domains(dimensional, JO, interstellar etc) starts and someone already does 3-4m damage before I arrive. I'm guessing this is a hardware issue. Regardless do you have any suggestions?

To secure your account there is nothing more simple than just bounding a TFA account (and absolutely nothing else), like gmail. Just don't trust the account you create on ToF website they won't help you whatever happens to you if you get hacked, and they will throw you at whatever host your account was bounded to. So use an account you are sure to be safe at 100% and TFA secure and you should be good to go.

To bolster what 'Tiiky' mentioned earlier a bit-

1. Not aware of any videos on securing account login, though I will explain the jist of it:

A "Custom Account" (meaning, "plain-old-email") has no form of TFA (Two Factor Authentication), the attacker only needs to know your login-credentials and they're in. If an attacker manages to get in, there is no email-confirmation required to "bind" or "unbind" the account from another sign-in method.

^ In otherwords, if someone manages to get in to the account -- that's it. The malicious actor can migrate the account to another sign-in method {take the account} with nothing further.

Beyond good security practices, you might migrate your account to a third-party OAuth sign-in method which supports TFA. For this to provide any security at all, any less secure sign-in method must be completely removed.

2. If the goal is high-security, you do not want to do this.

3. Via a third-party sign-in method (such as Google's) with TFA.

4. Yes, you should be able to pick a third-party login provider that's supported on both platforms.

@steep hearth -- Is there some goal here with driver application-profiles, or some problem that you're trying to solve by renaming the game executable?

We strongly suggest not touching the game's files in any way. That includes renaming, deleting, or any modification beyond such.

what you need to do after binding your gmail is LOGOUT of launcher, Then look under login, there’s a “G” icon to sign in thru gmail. Then goto account center again and you can unbind custom.

HI guys, this is also about Account Binding.

So I only play on PC and used my Gmail as my log in, this is considered custom account.

I tried binding it to Google Sign in using the same Gmail says its "Repeated Binding".

I tried binding it to Facebook and was able to bind it.

logged out of launcher, used FB login and was able to log in successfully, "Unbound" my custom account, and logged out of the launcher.

Logged in again using FB login and I was able to go in to the game, my progress is saved. So I guess I am ok with FB login, question is when I check the account center in the launcher, FB is no longer there or it does not say I am Bind with FB
but I can still go in and continue my progress when I launch the game (as long as I use FB log in the screen)

Is this ok and I am safe? or can I lets say bind to apple/twitter/line (since google says repeated binding) - what would happen if I bind it to other soc med accounts, would it "unbind" me on my previous FB Login or can we use multiple soc media logins?

I think your account will be safe. and I'm sorry for your question above, you said you logged in with FB and didn't find your account was linked in the account binding menu right? so if you bind your account with FB and you login using FB, it will not appear on the binding page and the same is true if you login with another account that is already in binding

this is also one of my issue, thats why when I try to bind to google it says repeated binding so basically its like
email1@gmail is used and was registered thru the launcher = custom account (did not use any log in methods as of this time only using launcher)

then after 2 weeks of playing, I try to bin email1@gmail to google sign in, using the same email of the same name = error is repeated binding.
tried to bind it to FB and it was no problem, so I unbound the custom account and technically use FB log in everytime thru the launcher, and my progress is still there

now I tried logging out my account, TRIED to use Google Sign-in using the same email I used when i registred thru launcher

the launcher asks me my server region and some accept the terms stuff (which I assume would be like making a new account) so I just click back and never tried logging in using Google sign in (even if my account uses that email)

so technically FB log in holds my account, i just hope facebook gaming wont fuck up lol

they should have not resorted to that custom account shit and just ask for sign in via fb/google/apple/line/twitter and just automatically bind that account to that soc med account

go in your game, save your UID and stuff like picture the or save

then log out of your launcher, and when it asks you to log in, use the google sign on the bottom (i used FB on mine)
if you can go in game and still have your progress EVEN if you used the google sign in i think you are safe to unbind the custom? but its still your move

The solution is quite simple, once you are on the launcher on pc, you can go on account center and from there you can bound the account to something else like.. Line or facebook..which are available options on phone.

I am able to start a new character without problems but get the same problem when trying to log in again. I ran a speedtest: download 147.27 Mbps (not sure if this info helps)

I personally don't have Apple products to test with. However, a few people were kind enough with similar problems and who owned multiple devices -- to experiment with sim-swapping.

It's interesting all around in that an iPhone hosting a hotspot, no device can connect through the cellular data of. An iPad, hosting a hotspot, using the same sim-card, an iPhone can connect through.

e.g, this is not isolated to the game client run on the iPhone, yet something an iPhone does with the network connection. {or, that the cellular carrier does specific to iPhones on their network}

All I can say is that the last thing I did before I got hacked was going on artificial island. I logged in two times, one time the 09/15, and one very early the 09/16, I lost my account like 6 hours or so after my last log. Btw the last login was to try Claudia. Otherwise I didn't do any instance or create a group or anything. Just solo playing on world map.

And yeah a 200$ ToF account when on the same email I have a 3k League of legends account, a blizzard account and steam account with money in them I agree with you it's just impossible that they would choose a ToF account (since they could take the bank card info as well)

Since a VPN did not help, yet changing ISP did -- this likely implies that the source of your loss is closer to home / on the ISP's end {that there's also loss to the VPN provider}. You'll probably want to contact your ISP and ask them to investigate if this is a recurring theme.

I do feel the need to comment here in that you mentioned changing your password as a "pre-requisite" to allowing someone else to access your account. This does not make it safe- {e.g, changing password thereafter}

• Even if you change your password for a sign-in method, if a user has signed in to your account via that method and "stored" the session (via the "Stay logged in" -- checkbox, OR in simply not signing out), then a password change will-not evict them from the account.

Connection comes from one computer. The funny thing is that the connection to the phone is working fine, everything works even though I have two clients on my phone, both the CN version and the global version. I also have two clients on my computer and only the CN version works stably.

I already tried to change the Hotta folder, that is, I removed the CN version and loaded the global versions, but the servers still did not appear. (This is how other games of the ToF community looked).

I'm starting from Western Europe.
P.S. I change the Hotta folder in the %Appdata% section of the local folder

@stoic fog About the bug you're reported, you have to fuse them. You opened the lesser material boxes and you need to fuse manually 4 of them to obtain 1 gold material

just click on the gold material icon in the upgrade window of the weapon

and then select how much gold material you want. if you have all the purple material needed, you will have the gold material for the weapon. 1 gold = 4 purple

I myself got some PM from hacked people.
It's easy to know that there have been multiple cases and that it has been going for almost a month. But yeah. When I told them that I'm pretty sure that my account will be sold soon and that I should be buying it back since they can't do anything. They just stayed silent about it and answered me the usual 'it's the wanderer responsibility... ... ...'.
So yeah, they don't care about us.
As I answered to a PM already. I even tried to post under each of their twitter post, and pretty much got roasted by some peoples.
So there is nothing to do until they wake up, or a pretty big streamer or whale get hacked.

Yeah so easy. But to be honest their support is the worst I have ever seen in my whole gaming experience. Never in my life have I seen a support not caring about hacked account, even more if there is money and a large amount of time invested inside.
A friend of mine lost is league of legends account for some years, he just didn't think of contacting the support. 1 or 2 years later he got it back a week after contacting the support. They even renamed his account with his old username. That's what I call a true support for player
