It's come from the OS and Drivers (basically manufacturer)

Well, It's same with closing launcher from your System Tray
So basically you haven't close the launcher from system tray like this yet

when did you enter the joint operation? if it was 20 minutes ago the joint operation should have ended and your character should get teleported before the loading screen

Because you're must doing it by yourself, since it's your account.
If the other people does that, CS might suspected if the account related to illegal activity, which is broke the ToS from Tower of Fantasy

First of all, logout launcher and Close Launcher at System Tray.
Then open the game file and delete the "Downloading" folders in that game (not launcher, engine, binary) and try again.
Also disable any unrelated connection disturbance, such as Proxy, VPN, and Internet Booster apps.
Don't forget to refresh connection such as clearing DNS Record by CMD Administrator and changing ISP / Internet Sources (also Disable and Enable back the Internet Adapter)

If still not fixed the problem, reinstall TOF (by fully uninstall TOF First)

Would you mind DM'ing me details of where you're connecting from and the ISP that you're using?

-- Most likely it's a peering / routing issue, and would clear up on its own. Since you're observing the same symptoms though, I'm expecting that you're in the same region, or share a similar gateway en-route to the game-servers.

Since this has already persisted for over a day from the sounds of it, would advise contacting your Internet Provider and Tower of Fantasy's support as well.

In the case of the ISP, you'd want to explain the service that you're having issues connecting to (e.g, mention Tower of Fantasy), and when contacting Tower of Fantasy's support, you'd want to provide details on your ISP / where you're connecting from [your IP address would help here too].

^ The goal is to have both ends (your Internet Provider and Tower of Fantasy's support) look at routing in each direction.

A VPN can't be used as a long term solution, since this is against the user-agreement --- yet it sounds like it was tried and worked in some of your cases. That a VPN worked is confirmation that there's some form of routing issue.

Either:

First thing to try would be using an alternate DNS service instead of your ISP's provided, such as for instance Google or Cloudflare's.

Per the anti-cheat related BSOD's, pretty much the only known solutions right-now boil down to:
-- Update drivers for every device that you can. {Chipset, etc}
-- Update or change BIOS {to another version}.
-- Disable or Enable Above 4G Decoding in BIOS.
-- Disable or Enable CSM in BIOS. [assuming that the OS was installed for UEFI boot]
-- Make sure that Hyper-V is not running, and or completely disable Hardware VT {in BIOS}.  [This one would be Windows 10+ specific]
-- Swap operating systems, if you're willing to go that far. {meaning, transition to Windows 10 if you're on Windows 11, or Windows 11 if you're on Windows 10}

Not ideal obviously, and hopefully future changes to the anti-cheat will resolve these more permanently.

If you're feeling adventurous or are comfortable in the BIOS, anything that alters how memory and interrupts are assigned to hardware has a chance to alleviate the crashes / get things stable.

@barren needle -- Possible that you could send me {via DM's} the minidump referenced in the Event Viewer entry for that bugcheck? Would like to take a further look.

To add more information, when I logged in I was told that I was logged in on another device, just at the moment I changed the password and when I logged in again the tutorial appeared as if I had never had any character. An external hard disk drive, there's an Event 153 Warning, source being from disk, right as the game crashed (since I restarted 2 minutes after), but up until that point I was playing just fine, even had the time to cook up a bunch of stuff to give to one of the characters.

Since you don't have access to your characters at this point, and thus don't have access to the ingame helpdesk, you can use email for this purpose.

Summarize the entire situation -- e.g, that you received a prompt stating that you were already logged in -- when you attempted connection, and suspect that someone may have compromised your account. If there's a 153 event, and the disk is being disconnected, that at least explains what's happening. You might want to check the disk with a utility that can read drive S.M.A.R.T. records (such as https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskinfo/ ) -- for signs of failure.

It's likely that the disk just coincidentally went bad, and that whenever this portion of the disk (that the game's contents are on) is accessed, the external drive gets ejected. {possibly due to the drive enclosure's controller malfunctioning}

• Do you have space locally to move the game to another drive? Probably that would be the easiest solution for right now to get things back functional.

it might be the method of login you use for your ToF account. ToF treats login methods as separate accounts even if the email is **completely the same ** for either method. For example, your original account uses a social media login method (like Facebook, Google, etc.) but you logged in using the same email from that social media login with email+password which is treated as completely separate accounts/wanderers

TL;DR: Registering with the same email on different platforms (email + password) versus social media login (Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc.) are treated as separate accounts even if the email part is the same. Players that experience this issue most likely created a new wanderer using email + password (or social media login) rather than their original login method.

I tried this and it ended up working for me. I think its still worth checking/trying the other login methods to make sure or unbinding/re-binding your account. It's weird that the same email but different login methods will create separate accounts lol

hello, i am having the same problem of black screen, i could play normally in 1.0.11, but in these new update the 2 startup logos appear, but after that the mouse pointer repositions to upper left position of the monitor/screen and it goes black screen, but not black screen of no signal in monitor, monitor is on and with video i can alt-tab to desktop, the game's windows goes black or blank, nothing in window/screen, the process/game is running and no crash whatsoever it stays like that, nothing happens, the launcher can't exit the game, neither the process can be ended (QRSL.exe) with task manager, it's stays like that "forever", it only goes away after reboot, hope you can help with this problem, thanks in advance.

I've been in contact with the customer service. Thankfully, someone is replying but no fix. I keep sending them more info about it.

In my case I am still able to log in on my account but when i go to the server i used to play, my progress was lost. I was thrown back into tutorial mission. I tried picking my old IGN (when prompted to name the character), and guess what, it wont accept it because my old IGN still exists on the exact same server.

So technically, using the same account, i was able to completely create 2 game characters on the same server. Though I lost my access to my first.

The ranking in Bygone Phantasm doesn't make sense because it does not show the total points accumulated for both modes.

It is calculated based off Sequential Phantasm points + your current floor x10

For example if you are at 150th floor, with 1500 Sequential Phantasm points, you get 150x10 + 1500 = 3000 total.
A player at 120th floor with 2000 Sequential Phantasm points will be ranked above you because he has 120x10 + 2000 = 3200 total.

Hope this clears things up and they eventually fix the ranking board UI. (If you notice the top row of the ranking table, there is 'sequence rating' and 'bygone progress').

This is what it should display for everyone in the ranking board.. with the total score at 4835 as comparison.
