When you say that it "totalled" your previous SSD, do you mean that your Windows installation / software became corrupted?

I'm assuming the bluescreens are 'DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION' types from the description, probably happening whenever the anti-cheat is unloaded on game-closure. Check under "%SystemRoot%\Minidump" -- see if your machine is generating crash dumps (if there's any in that folder with timestamps that line up).

hello, I seem to have a problem of my computer turning off completely sometimes when playing the game? I checked online and it said the most common issue is over heating i checked my temperatures they are doing fine. after a while I found out it was file corruptions making this happen so I repaired the game (and have done so every time its crashed) but it still completely turns off my computer and makes it reboot at a random point in time? it is also not a computer spec problem as i have an i5 11th gen, 64gb of ddr4 3.2k gHz of ram and a 1060 gtx. is there any fix to this? Account can no longer be signed into, he uses gmail login and when he tried to login, a new progress was created instead. He also stated that he's certain he logged on using the same server.

Sadly in this type of situation, he'll likely need to contact support via the ingame ticket system {account category} and have the team investigate what exactly is happening here / what happened to his character(s).

The old SSD that was pulled from the machine is probably intact. I'm assuming whenever you had the drive replaced, that whoever serviced the machine provided a fresh install.

Sent a DM with a picture guide on the ticket contact which you may forward to him. Of course, provide as much detail as possible of everything that led up to this situation, both so that Tower of Fantasy's support team can investigate the account [find the presumable disassociated character] -- and also how or why this happened to begin with.

Either through the feedback channel, or through the ticket system -- ingame, or via email, {feedback category} would be your best bet. Both of these would reach the appropriate party.

Per the anti-cheat related BSOD's, pretty much the only known solutions right-now boil down to:
-- Update drivers for every device that you can. {Chipset, etc}
-- Update or change BIOS {to another version}.
-- Disable or Enable Above 4G Decoding in BIOS.
-- Disable or Enable CSM in BIOS. [assuming that the OS was installed for UEFI boot]
-- Make sure that Hyper-V is not running, and or completely disable Hardware VT {in BIOS}.  [This one would be Windows 10+ specific]
-- Swap operating systems, if you're willing to go that far. {meaning, transition to Windows 10 if you're on Windows 11, or Windows 11 if you're on Windows 10}

This is not ideal obviously, and hopefully future changes to the anti-cheat will resolve these more permanently.

Sadly, a laptop is likely to have a restrictive BIOS {not much that can be changed / minimal options}, so the above may not be much help. You might need to wait for changes to the anti-cheat itself.

First thing to check would be if Windows' Startup and Recovery options have "Automatically restart" checked. If this is, then the reboots might be bluescreens that are simply happening so-fast that you can't see them. If Windows cannot write to the disk, and cannot produce a crash dump, then these can be passed in a split second.

-- If you uncheck that, and the system still instantly powers off or reboots, then the next best bet would be to look through the Windows Event Viewer, System tab: immediately before the 'kernel-power' events, and see if you can find any clues in there {through warnings or errors}.

Could be a large number of causes {heat, power supply, memory instability, even a failing disk drive}. For instance, one user on here (Vermillion), had abrupt restarts, and poweroffs -- where the culprit was actually a failing SSD. In this case, the Event Viewer showed code 157 disk errors right before each halt, which was the tell sign / hint.

Those types of messages in the log (COM Server permissions) are probably not related to a poweroff. You're more looking for direct hardware errors / warnings.

Need help to manage dead team

Me and my team are facing an issue where our clan leader has told us he leaved the game but this same person did not give the lead to an other person. So now we are in a "dead" team were there are plenty of active players but no real leader to take decision and upgrade things.
2 weeks ago, I contacted a moderator who told us that the lead is given to the Vice having the best amount of honnor after 14days. We are 16 days later, lead have not being changed yet.

9. Check for GPU Updates.
10. Check Motherboard Manufacturer / Laptop Manufacturer for updates.
11. Follow through with them.
12. reboot at each installation.
13. Open Launcher.
14. Game Settings < Repair.
15. Reboot.
16. Try run the game.

I've been experience that one directly when doing Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 several years ago, where the OS came for free

Im on my phone Right now so it’s a bit unpractical for me to look it up but what you want to do is tweak the engine.ini or some other ini file with custom commands in the AppData folder that are shared between each unreal game if they run on the same unreal engine.

However because the game crashes without any known error it’s a different issue for you. Try to install runtimes.

Try to reset your modem, try to unlock the necessary ports if it’s supervised by someone else than you and try to clear your cache files in windows, try a vpn if the problem persists and also make sure you have enough room on your hard drive also maybe someone else is already logged in your account so try to reset password

Also you can simply try to launch the game on a different desktop if you press windows key and tab key. Or simply try it as another user.

If it’s not software related like runtime dependencies or windows media player which you can download or they should be included in the steam version it’s your gpu Feature Level which is dependent on your gpu drivers unless you use a custom driver that emulates the required feature level or just force the exe to run in an older direct x mode of you append -dx11 in the shortcut to your game exe. Or simply the files Corrupted during download. You could use the steam version and verify them.

The only option short of appealing to Intel's Driver Team for help (through future driver updates) -- would probably be checking if you have access to a thunderbolt port on the laptop. If you have a thunderbolt port on the machine, it may be possible to use an eGPU dock (external graphics card).

@pulsar jackal -- Of curiosity, what's the desktop resolution? {e.g, 1366x768} The image you've provided is 1287x694.

@winter lotus -- Check under "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Hotta\Saved\Crashes", and see if there's any subfolders contained within.

If there are, and if you can archive (zip) and send these folder my way {via DM's}, will gladly take a look and see if we can figure out why your client is closing.

Empty launcher folder after the MiniLoader stage usually means that the MiniLoader extracted properly, yet was not properly elevated after extraction. Basically, there was a rights-issue when trying to write the launcher to the installation folder, and the Launcher installation aborted. {probably abruptly}

I'm assuming that the MiniLoader instantly closes on clicking "Install". If yes, navigate to "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\TofMiniLoader".

-- Right click on 'TofMiniLoader.exe', and select "Run as Administrator". Then attempt to click install once more and see if the situation changes / if it actually installs this time.

The graphics anomalies that you're seeing are normal on Intel's Graphics Solutions sadly [even their new discrete graphics cards]. It's not a matter of the drivers not being installed right -- we'd need Intel's Driver Team to address the defects they have with UE4 titles -- and with ToF. (both under DX11 and DX12)

Usually not needed to reboot a system. Performance shouldn't be going down over time, yet given it's easy to restart for the sake of checking -- that's not a bad idea to try.

If you do find that performance is indeed going down the longer the system is running {or the game}, then it may be valuable to keep an eye on the Task Manager / resources. Memory {total paged, compressed, free}, handles, GDI objects, etc.

Try to figure out the registry settings for this game in regedit if that's even possible. Not sure how the launcher works but maybe the progress is saved in a config file somewhere. You could try to pause the installation progress to copy the files step by step.

You could have them install the game on a small partition of their hard drive then copy the image file onto usb to install as a secondary operation system in worst case lol.

It probably won't launch because the anti cheat is most likely installed seperately even though maybe that's not the case but I can't check this at the moment

That said, while a VPN is against the user-agreement and not something that can be used as a solution, this did not work, and that makes it less-likely to be directly connection oriented {or your router} -- it also sounds like you may have tried an alternate Internet Connection. Do you possibly have any third party security software on the machine that may contain a firewall {or web-filtering} component beyond Windows' built in firewall?

@ashen dawn -- Usual cause for prompts like that one, is that writing a file or access to the file was blocked by some other software (e.g, AntiVirus or otherwise).

Probably you'll find that the PhysX binary included with the game is 0-bytes, yet this is the first time I've seen that specific one be blocked. Would suggest starting by checking the size of the file at that path, and the logs (and quarantine folders) of any third party security software on the machine.

It seems that others recommended replacing files in the game folder with those attained from other sites. Generally we'd advise staying away from doing this, and only attain core files bundled with the game through the game's launcher after determining what (other software) is interfering with the game's installation.

@hasty geyser -- Although the intention was good, the website you've listed is user-maintained {user provided uploads} and we cannot assure the integrity of the libraries hosted thereof. There's also the potential of other conflicts from mismatching versions.

Always prefer to perform repair through the launcher itself.

@drifting mantle -- For any payment related issues {assuming this persists}, you'll need to either contact your bank or Tower of Fantasy's support via the ingame ticket system. Essentially, will need to have it investigated why the transaction is being declined.

@manic glen -- What AntiVirus is the detection from, and what exactly is the detection message?

Provided that this is the only detection that you're seeing, and so long as it's a "heuristic" and not a signature-match, odds are it's a false positive.

@bronze geode -- Usually installing the launcher over itself is sufficient, and or just removing the contents of "\Tower Of Fantasy" & "\AppData\Roaming\tof_launcher", then re-running the MiniLoader.

A Maxwell series card certainly should be able to run the game without issues.

If the connection was stable before {which I assume it was by the context here}, it likely will clear up on its own (e.g, probably a routing / peering issue). If it doesn't, you'll need to contact your ISP and Tower of Fantasy's support to have your connectivity looked into from both ends.

If the AV didn't flag anything during installation, would doubt that it's posing problems post installation. However, some AV's may leave their filtering component partially active when disabled.

• It's a shot in the dark here, since you've already tried a lot from the description {far as connection troubleshooting}. The only other thing that I can really suggest is seeing if (should you have another device to install the game on), if can connect on your account.

Ah, I meant that if the game installed, and launches {where the client starts afterwards}. Usually if an AV were to damage the installation, it would do so in a way that the client does not launch "at-all".

• Your installation is probably fine and not damaged (files wise) by the AV. {meaning, you probably do not need to reinstall the game, though you could try removing the AV to see if it's the cause of the connection issues-}

It's probably necessary here to narrow down if this is machine specific {in some way software} by testing another device with the game. While you've done plenty of connectivity testing, that tends to hint heavier towards it being on the software side.

Have not tried using the Windows' built in volume mixer.

Could probably reduce the client's volume in that way ... yet if not, reducing system volume and compensating by raising the ingame volume might be the best bet.
