Sniper starts are just not good btw. More expensive. But don't let everyone's opinions of guns shape whether or not you use them. Yes the mosin and kar are ASS after brain scorcher, but that's not their purpose. They're there for the early game. You use them to kill stalkers above your weight class. The kar is worse than the mosin due to the slightly less AP, but that doesn't really change how you use it. They're both hit and run headshot options. You use them when you want to minimize damage

Not only the prices, for example I've got a brand new DVL-10 Saboteur (the one with the integrated silencer) I tried to use with HV scope for easy targeting. After playing R3 1.19 for about 10 hours now, it's alright. I wouldn't call it an upgrade, more like a sidegrade if anything. Gunplay is good, although ADS could give like 1.25x zoom at least. Hostile NPCs are way too persistent, I got spotted by the patrol at the southern Cordon checkpoint when looting a stash and the entire garrison stormed the rookie village. Thirst and sleep didn't need to exist and they should be configurable options. Emissions are still just a time waster like in every stalker game/mod. Mutant parts are way too heavy. Idk if it's just weird RNG but rain/stormy weather is almost constant, of the 10 hours I played, it rained for 9 of them. The start of the game is needlessly drawn out by the pointless artefact fetch quest before you're allowed into the village. The unique guns don't exist anymore or I couldn't find any. The subtitles for random banter are nice. Artefact system was better in SoC imo.

Overall, it's pretty good but I struggle to find anything about it being clearly better than SoC.

In addition to being somewhat common to just find, you can make Stolichnaya and Putinka into Nemiroff if you have a drug making kit, and you can buy these at some traders and just stock up then go to Yantar and buy a bunch, then craft it.

You only need 5 sets (and some scrap metal) to craft it, and the recipe only uses 4.
