Must be somebody who has a suit based on a Monolith suit. Seems like their idle dialogue is actually based on their model, not their faction; so sometimes you have Bandits saying loner idle dialogue, or a Clear Sky saying Dutier idle dialogue, etcetera.
Or maybe DICK just has some mistakes in the code, causing a similar effect to what I described but not being totally consistent about it.
I was thinking about the damage numbers on ammo types in Gamma and the damage numbers on ammo types in Tarkov and realized that part of the GBOOBS soup was messed up and that's why it feels weird: FMJ does the same damage as AP.
It should be that AP does the same damage it does now, but FMJ does a bit more (but not as much as HP, obviously), 'cause that's the missing puzzle piece.
The extra tactical decision to specifically use FMJ against light-armored stalkers (that you still wouldn't use HP on), making FMJ less miserable (heh) to use against mutants (which is especially important for ammo types which don't have HP), and just generally making FMJ feel slightly less like junk you only use when you have to because you don't have anything better.
Fmj dealing the same dmg as AP is.. fine. Fmj is just your catch all option. It deals damage to everything cheaper than HP and AP, ofc it's gonna feel a little worse for it's versatility
If you give fmj a global damage buff then I think it'd make specific smgs be more oppressive than they already are
FMJ is cheap and reliable, just sometimes needs more bullets to kill some targets. But it gets everything killed in the end, no matter if mutant or armored enemies.
(I wonder which ones I'm talking about? Any guesses?)

Tbh you don't need AP on the 5.7 smgs. They fire so fast and with such a high mag size the fmj will carry you to the end game

I did not, but might need to in order to make it slightly less bad. Feels hard to land shot on dudes more than, like, 15 meters away unless I'm "prone." Which makes getting headshots with irons very tricky.

Mags is.. also opinionated I guess. I like the idea of being punished for bad reloads, but the reload speeds in gamma are so fast it doesn't really make a difference
I like the ability to get mags which are upgrades instead of all mags becoming upgraded contingent on getting a certain version of that weapon, for instance. I also like getting more ammo from deads and stashes, but having to work for it a bit.

in my experience, getting loaded doesnt reduce my max speed, just makes me get tired way faster, also takes like 40 metres to come to a stop

Someone once made a weight/volume mod for the original SoC, was bugged like hell but you had item weight and item volume, and backpacks and such had a max volume. That made things very complicated depending on item volume.
And to me "wait, what mag do I have loaded again" "wait, did I repack my mags" and "shit, what load spread do I have again" is valid gameplay.
My realistic ass when I'm putting 30 bullets into an empty mag to kill the bloodsucker after me:
