i have been on a diet of fish/seafood based protein for about 2 months now. Not sure if i'll go back to meat anytime soon
Fish is still meat.
Just, very delicious and healthy meat. :3
You're the only person who correctly guessed what it is, that I've shown it to.
Fish is fish
...yes, which is meat.
I can kinda get the confusion, like mushrooms or tomatoes not really being "vegetables" (tomatoes are fruits and mushrooms aren't even plants), but fish is just meat. Muscles around bones. Meat!
Fish isnt canonically meat if you are part of Christian
For some reasons
Since you can eat it during a kind of the time where its strictly fish or veggie
And yes canonically Capybara isnt meat neither
*red meat
ive got some meat for ya right here pal
I don't think you'd take some religion definition when deciding whether something is meat or not
Should be quite irrelevant
quiet heretic
Stop
How many fucking people are being fed
Can i get a to go box
And do you ship internationally? 😅
Tempting, not going to lie. 😅

The English equivalent of plugging a wound with dirt
those fries look as likely to chip your tooth as to give you a coronary
Sweet Potato fries

yams are great n all but that look like fried toenail clippings
Tres leches cake w/strawberries
As if you never seen self made fries and only factory cut
Sounds good
They are, they got a soft bite and a light crunch.Just as fries are supposed to be.
i had potato wedges and they never looked like a dishsponge dipped in grease and cut by a blind monk with an axe

Wedges are something entirely else again
Next up someone comes in here and says the french inveted them or says the Hamburger is American
hamburger with buns is american. hamburg steak is from germany
Hamburgers came from immigrants from Hamburg from germany
Hamburger Beefsteak is something entirely different
it says they first used the bread during voyages from hamburg to new york
so it was invented in teh atlantic lol
By Germans ...
Future americans
Yeah it doesnt work like that.
im making the rules here
America is basicly a mixed pool of immigrants anyway
And french fries are Danish
and thats what originial danish fries look like
big sticks xD
7.50€ and they dont look like fried rocks
id be more worried thinkin any of those look appetizing or normal
Ngl his look better, those look boring
welcome to the beautiful world of online where opinions coexist, even if theyre wrong
(namely, yours)
I would say bonus points for the slaw.
smh those fries look like TK ware
processed
they are too perfect
Also it was just mentioned, not by me,those fries only look half done
They lack the crunch from the looks
AND WHAT 7,50
specify the price is that 7,50 only for the fries ?
I hope not
this mf never heard of of a fucking fry cutter in a restaurant that has more traffic than 2 fat fucks per evening
"too perfect"
Handmade is always more appealing than it looking processed
its a hand press
7.50 for the meal and a drink in midcenter from madrid
Ok thats a good price
its sus but i cant really leave a scathing review without something to complain about
Yeah cause my fries were already 3,40 the full box
Sweet potato was 3,80
my big burger was 16,00€ but thats due 1kg of meat on it
oh wait it aint 1kg
il revert my statement xD
its 3,50 and 4,50
i just got % off cause i used a voucher yesterday
i saved 50% lel
as i was saying, them fries look horrifying, but i cant judge the flavor, they just look greasy and off color. cant judge flavor from afar so ill shit on anything i see
waking up ready to hate is beautiful
i just like to lick the gooey shit off of it
This was btw the look of my fries
i prefer the normal ones too since they taste better in this case and are overall better in crunchy crust
yeah i know this, people dont want that here
my point is that shit doesnt cook same if it aint same sized
They instantly will say its frozen slop they serve you for a big price
i mean,it will cook differently to some degree but that shows how good the cook is if he can get them all the same done
WHAT cant you taste potato thats been frozen, stg people should have never gotten access to hells kitchen and mastercheff
We can,but you know people
my gf couldnt taste the difference about Cola,Cola Zero and Cola Light
so we made a taste test xD
double 0 taste like shit, zero taste like cinnamon shit and regular coke is aaite
Cause they use corn syrup instead of sugar
and i hate it
i tried it once and will never again.
We had at some point Stevia as sweetener which made it taste only like sugar.
fuck stevia
when people say diabetic urine taste sweet, i imagine it tastes like stevia
stevia tastes like these shits
Tic-Tacs but its your heart making that noise 5 years down the line
And if your allergic to asparthame or however you write it will outright just kill you

Tonight I made chicken stir fry with green bell pepper, bamboo shoots, and green onion. Fried in a little reused veggie oil with salt, pepper, msg, garlic powder, butter, worchestershire sauce, and some angry grandma chili crisp.

lazy midnight burger
I added a bit of truffle paste. the expensive stuff
made it taste like how you'd imagine burgers to taste like at places like these
Even though it looks like hell I appreciate the carbonara attempt. My favorite recipe, almost of all time. Looks like you missed out on the egg slurry though.
Anyway...I'd probably still eat it. But fr do it right next time, k? Guanciale or bacon in the pan, pecorino romano and parmesan oregiano, not pre shred, with whole whipped eggs. Fresh as can be.
Pepper and salt. Legitimately one of the best things I have ever made in my life.
might be a hot take, but my favorite topping on a burg is bleu cheese
not dressing, just slices or crumbles of the cheese
naw I totally get you. I had some leftover blue cheese sauce from when I went to a nearby wings place once. I put it on top of a burger patty
It was heaven
The best burger I ever tried had caramelized onions, blue cheese, arugula and pesto (not sure about this last one)

exquisite
you would probably have an aneurysm after eating filipino carbonara
basically uses cream and bacon instead of an egg slurry, more like a pasta alfredo. but i'd still eat it over "traditional" carbonara in a heartbeat
watching italians get mad on the internet over regional variants of pasta dishes also never gets old
Ey if it tastes good then it is good as Mr.Pepin is so fond of saying. I did say I appreciated his attempt and I would still eat it lol. I admit even I break with tradition and add garlic to my carbonara. But if cream goes in then its just alfredo sauce to me. Still delicious but not carbonara.

Asmongold daily meal
I don't think it's blue cheese, just brie with herbs. But yeah. My entire life so far hasn't seen anyone eating like this.
At all. Let alone on the regular.
Just noticed he didnt even peel the fucking onion
It's like - the more you look at it, the more is wrong with that plate. 😅
also now noticed its not even half a onion
its legit a whole onion and the lower portion is just dipped unpeeled in the fucking red sauce
And I'm not sure if that bordering with the red sauce, is oil or white sauce.
Perfect

I have an assignment at culinary to bake something diffrent than the norm out here. Any native Ukrainians have any favorite baking recipes they want to share? I figured I would mash two of my hobbies together for fun.
Accidentally fat fingered it
It's not Ukrainian, but this is my favorite thing to make for the season. Nobody makes pecan pie like this anymore, the corn syrup version took over. I prefer this one because it's less sweet and makes a great custard.

Is eggnog overrated?
Mmm....it depends. Can it be ridiculously good? Without a doubt. Does all eggnog taste like a 10? No, not even close. imo the two best store-bought eggnogs are Hood and Southern Comfort (at least in the US). They are thick but they are also meant to be dilute with alcohol like bourbon or brandy. If you're too young or a teetotaler mix 1 part whole milk with 2 parts eggnog. Eggnog can be hot or cold. If you want it warm make sure to warm it up slowly in a saucepan or small pot.
Now...it gets REALLY good and I mean insanely good when you make it yourself. And it's not even that hard or complicated. Just need patience and a good recipe and it can change your life. Either with a coronary or pure tastebud bliss. You can skip the coronary by only consuming during special occasions.
It's just really, really rich. Lots of calories, sugar, and fat. All in a single drink.
You can also buy eggnog with pre-mixed alcohol. It's shelf stable because the alcohol makes it sterile enough that the milk and eggs cannot sour. It's not too bad but they also aren't too great either. Evan Williams makes a decent one. It's creamy, sweet, and has a good spice flavor. I'd give the Even William's nog a 6.5/10. Good enough to enjoy and get a great buzz on.
But nothing defeats homemade eggnog over store bought right?
Oh yeah for sure
Lemme do a quick search for you, there's a guy that condenses his recipe into a short but you get the idea.

Milk rolls
Cinnamon-pumpkin spice pancakes with chocolate chips and coconut.
Chocolate chips are also in the pancakes
Ingredients
For the pasta:
8 ounces (about 2 cups) elbow macaroni or any pasta you prefer
For the cheese sauce:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk (whole milk is best for creaminess)
2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar is traditional, but you can mix with mozzarella, gouda, or others)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
For topping (optional):
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko works well)
1 tablespoon melted butter
Extra cheese for topping (optional)
Instructions
Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Make the Cheese Sauce:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for about 1-2 minutes until it turns a light golden color (this is called a roux).
Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook, whisking frequently, until the mixture thickens (about 5-7 minutes).
Lower the heat and add the shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Combine Pasta and Sauce:
Add the cooked pasta to the cheese sauce and mix until the pasta is fully coated.
Optional Baking Step:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
If you want a baked version, transfer the mac and cheese to a greased baking dish.
In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle this mixture over the top. If desired, add extra cheese on top.
Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
Serve:
Remove from the oven (if baked), let it cool for a few minutes, and serve warm.
Enjoy!
Feel free to customize this recipe by adding ingredients like cooked bacon, sautéed vegetables, or spices for added flavor. Enjoy your homemade mac and cheese!

smh that looks sad
especialy the fries
but dont mind me at all i eat like 5 times that much at least
i still dont get over how the fries look
why are they looking so soft and not crunchy
the ones with the goat cheese obviously
just to maybe trigger Ivan

But which country makes the best burek? I say bosnia
nahh
i love cheese,especialy goat cheese,way to much
Burek sticks with goat cheese

Theres this one really really good burek place on the border of bulgaria and serbia
And its probably the best burek place ever
The meat and potatoes looks good, as with the leek soup. The rest of it looks really sad. That seaweed salad in particular.
Wolf down the salad, scarf the noodles, enjoy the meat and potatoes with the rice alongside the soup. Parfait for dessert. At least it's sweet.

Looks alr but the meal looks quite dry
It wasnt, because of all that oil from the frying
But a sauce would have been neat
I prefer peanut sauce
also looks dry + the bread...
I mean true
Fruits are better eaten by chewing because the enzymes in saliva help process the sugars and you're less likely to gain weight
No idea what that is but the chicken looked really good and not dry

Well it wasnt
it was good, just lacked some spice which we will add more next time and we wont cut it in slices to keep the crisp shell intact
Chicken looks dry
@granite trail at home

This channel is cool. Hello, im a chef, though im done with restaurants I still love cooking.
I would commit a heinous crime for the top two steaks
That last one on the bottom right looks like a good dessert. I'd be most excited for the sesame wedge tbh. My favorite snack.
Also I'll take those wines too.
I got to taste wines which customers paid 2000€ for the bottle.
2000 euro for a bottle of wine....the fuck dude
I was an apprentice for a world champion for 2 years, and when you're that profiled, a lot of rich people want to eat your food

it was very good
very rich
My favorite bottle of wine is $14 lol
I don't even think I'd put $2500 on a bottle of wine if I had hit the lottery
Now...a bottle of whisky maybe
preference 🤷♂️
The guy who bought that bottle is one of the richest in Norway. He flew to the island in a helicopter which landed in the school yard close to the hotel where the restaurant is located. The restaurant, hotel, nearby burger joint, attached barn for bigger arrangements, and newly opened exclusively fine dining and luxury hotel, is all owned by the same small family
I think that's the difference between me and high society. If I had that kind of money I'd just disappear. Build a home out in Indiana or Montana 10 miles from any city. Have them run fiber optic cable out to the house so I can still have my internet lol.
Me and my girlfriend have the same idea lol
I actually bought the same bottle in this picture, just from year 2000, for my dad

rest of the scampi, new asian sensation sauce, and imo worlds best fried vegetable: Me. I mean broccoli.
When i use my imagination. it kinda looks like a chicken. So its very healthy. It looks delicious

Molten cheese

And the sauce for the fries is Joppie sauce and under that theres Aioli

Ohhh
Prolly will be able to try it when I go to Amsterdam this summer
Just thought it was the other since I saw that it was a popular sauce when I went to Denmark last year
Cooking right now
The curry looks banger
Bwekfest
More like a SAG
Arizona tea. Mm. Now theres a thing I miss. Haven't had it in years.
Saaame. I used to have 3 or 4 a day when I used to work at the warehouse. It was so drinkable and you weren't allowed to have anything but water on the warehouse floor I'd shotgun them before work, on break, lunch, last break. Good hydration, carbs to help me work longer cutting open boxes and running product to the pick lines. My go-to was the green tea.
About 3 years ago I decided to cut down on sugar. Soda mostly, but tea as well. Now I usually don't have any sugary drinks. The one exception is coffee.
Other than that I drink water, black tea that I make myself (no sweetener), milk, and...thats pretty much it.
Man those Zona Sweet tea's are primo
And sucks about those rules though, I'd say as long as it's in a enclosed container it should be fine. But good for ya to keep a strict, but healthy regiment 👍
Far from strict lol. But it was a compromise I was willing to make. I determined a while ago that sugar is what's really preventing me from being as healthy as I want. A step in the right direction but it was only a step. I need to do more for myself but those are more than just "don't drink that" in nature lol. Thats why I started cooking for myself more rather than eating out as well. It's far from healthy but it's better than before.
That said one thing I think everyone should do it limit your sugar intake. A close friend of mine stopped drinking soda and energy drinks about 5 months ago (in July) and she's lost about 15 pounds, or roughly 7kg for my metric friends. She takes a b vitamin supplement and a caffeine pill with water instead of a sugary energy drink. Same effect, 250 less calories from sugar per drink. And she'd have like 3 a day.
Cinnamon rolls with apple pie filling and icing atop
Elk. And Prosciutto and Brie flatbread with a fig jam base topped with arugula and chili roasted almonds.
That looks soooo good
A nice borscht, with some sour cabbage juice for a tiny kick
Underrated soup. THAT is delicious 😍😍😍
entrecôte
This is exactly what i need right now
food stop at the golf course restaurant. I'm out with my dad getting stuff for saturdays dinner party
Its the middle of winter and im barbecuing (this sucks, but atleast the food will be good)
I used to love grilling in the winter. It was like having a little camp fire in the snow.
My new apartment complex doesn't allow grilling though
how do you like your steak
any answer aside from well done and blue rare is acceptable
those 2 extremes are insanity, i prefer medium, just in the middle
My dad was a blue rare guy. I like mine cooked medium. Pink and warm.
ye
My dad liked it still mooing XD
yikes
i still think thats too far, my parents like medium well, which is respectable, but dry to me
medium rare is too red though, so i like it on the slightly higher end of medium (not medium well, but not flat medium if that makes sense)
I'll eat anything except rare
im a little more picky, same as you but well done is on the no-no list
Though I will eat rare if there's a lot of drippings and I have bread
yeah i cant do that lol
Honestly anything that isn't totally raw I can eat when I have something to go with it. Bread, potatoes, broccoli, lobster.
So long as its well seasoned
In the end its all steak
And if the day includes steak it was a good day
Shrimp toast: Gourmet Edition!
Looks pretty good.
ok does anyone have ideas for food to make? got beef and chicken in the fridge, and a good amount of vegetables (im out of ideas right now and need ideas/inspirations)
Personally I love a good "lets add all this together and see how good it is"
If I'm making a concoction from no recipe I like to start with onion or leek sweated out in some butter or oil. Take that out and in the same residual oil or butter brown down your beef or chicken to your liking. Preferably season with salt and pepper or bullion powder of the appropriate meats. Once brown go on and toss in some small diced carrot, brown mushrooms and peppers. Could also do brussel sprouts, cabbage, or maybe even some bok choy if you have it. Let those sweat, add in your onion again. De-glaze pan with a small amount of water or wine (white wine if chicken, red wine if beef, and if all you have is rose wine...just don't). Don't add too much, you don't want a soup. Now that all that flavor is homogenized throw in a few chopped cloves of garlic and if you have dried tarragon and/or thyme. Add in a little cream, fresh or sour, and let that cook until it becomes a nice coating sauce. Serve that over brown rice or toss with some noodles.
If no cream sub out for a starch slurry so you'll still have a sauce. Can also add in a little pinch or two of sugar to mellow out salty flavors, should brighten up the sweeter ingredients like peppers and leek.
a bit late but here you go if you haven't decided on anything
Also thinking about it, if using wine, don't use cream
It'll mute those bright flavors you would otherwise get
this is interesting, but im not too sure its my style, other than onion though this sounds good
i dont really like onions or the other members of the allium family
they can be ok, but not something im gonna intentionally seek out, but i still think this is worth a try in the future (i should have prepped this before, but i was busy today, so i have no time to make this, so pizza tonight then i will test this over the weekend)
it can be, but i meant something less... idk generic?
something interesting
ive made stir fry before, its pretty easy tbh, its just stick shit in pan essentially
a what?
just stuff the fridge into a lasagna?
ok if im making lasagna, its gonna be a normal lasagna, i love regular lasagna too much
just the blending is perfect compared to spaghetti (inferior to lasagna bc its not layered)
I did my own experimental bullshit today. Had some kinda sub par frozen chicken chunks. Decided to spice it up by making a savory sweet sauce with some honey, soy sauce, a ramen seasoning packet, and some starch. Basically just combined everything with a little water, let it simmer, and then added the starch slurry to finish the sauce. A little bacon grease for some smokiness, tossed with some flat noodles on high heat to make a bit of a stir fry nood fest. The chicken really lets the dish down because it's got that packaged processed food flavor and texture but the sauce is absolutely winning.
man you guys come up with shit like this and make it good while im so new to cooking im just making shit up and stealing ideas
(the things i make up are garbage tho) but i do have a natural talent for barbecuing beef because it always turns out good
Im gonna make a lasagna now that i have been given the idea thank you
We all start somewhere
And grilled meat in any scope it hard to mess up unless you burn it
It still tastes good burnt tbh
You could give me a burger or steak with 0 seasoning that was grilled over a smokey oak fire and it'll still taste like God himself made it for me
I like burnt ends, not burnt steak lol
Honestly my favorite part of bbq chicken tho. The crispy charred bits on the ends. When it's glazed all sweet and tangy mmmmm....
making me hungry again
ew...
die
i prefer to keep my meats un-charred
i find it tastes worse
and im not a fan of carcinogens
im happier with less cancer
If its like charcoal completely burned
Then its not good obviously
i think its not good regardless
Theres a certain percentage of burn that tastes like shit after it passes said threshold
for me its once it passes 1.5% burnt
then it tastes like shit and im cutting that part out
thats what i usually do
cut it out
bc its ass
and again, carcinogens are bad, im not a fan of them
I love carcinogens!
deep frying sunchoke skins to fill with sunchoke pure and top off with sunchoke chips. will post result later today
Good feast
