Most of the time you can ignore euros entirely, dollars come naturally by vendoring "info" items(drives, diaries, etc.) to Peacekeeper, and for the most part you can run guns that don't require indepth builds; we're 3 months into a wipe and I'll still just buy an RFB, slap a suppressor and scope on it, and jump into raid. For the more intricate builds you can make presets.
If you enjoy the micromanagement then you can easily spend an hour organizing your stash, selling items, and building weapons... but you can also forgo the effort and just vendor most guns/armor/helmets and run a comfortable default loadout. Some groups spend 1-2 minutes between raids, some spend 10-30; you can go at your own pace.
I wouldn't trust the difficulty circle-jerk around the game either. The maps have depth but half the playerbase avoids PvP and just loots/quests, which is perfectly viable. The game's pacing and difficulty is pretty player-specific.

- I could never play enough to make it very far in a wipe, I'm an adult with a full-time job and family, so.
- The cheaters make it unbearable to play for very long, so I never really got good weapons to try out either.
- Desync is such a rough issue for me because the internet where I live is horrible. So even if I do run into other players, I can't kill them even with repeated headshots.
So, the single player mod made it so I could actually enjoy the money I spent on that game and now I can just never play it again.
