Think this is probably the right place to ask: After disabling the shader packs 'kennshades' in the mod organiser, I go from a pretty consistent 60fps to a consistent 130+fps... Is that a reasonable performance hit? If I'm not wrong, without the shaders on the visuals are basically anomaly tier, which I'm fine with for the massive performance increase, but is there a way to tone down the mod shader settings to bump up the fps whilst keeping the increased visual fidelity?

that's a reshade preset. when you are installing reshade shaders, click browse and go to that ini file. make sure the ini file is inside your Anomaly\bin folder

I installed "[1.0.1] OPERATION TWILIGHT a Gamma Reshade by Monulith.", after starting the game, the message "there were errors compiling some effects. check the log for more details." will appear. I am attaching the last log file. There are also such errors in the reshade menu. Gamma is completely clean, just installed. Can you tell me how to fix these errors? Reshade was reinstalling.

I think you need to reinstall reshade, and when you get to the effects selection, click on the browse at the bottom and find your preset

your preset should have this in it at the top: Techniques=qUINT_ReGrade@qUINT_regrade.fx,[e-mail],[e-mail],[e-mail],Glamarye_Fast_Effects_with_Fake_GI@Glamayre_Fast_Effects.fx,[e-mail],[e-mail],[e-mail]

It's a shader compilation when you have reshade installed just drop these files into you're anomaly bin folder and replace any files then ingame open reshade and select the the preset and boom done I have some extra ones running but that's just me you can add on or remove anything you like

the acid smoke is from arrival btw, but thats a whole different thing

once you download a reshade just drag all the files from the folder (which should be a .ini file and a "reshade_shaders" folder) into your anomaly bin folder and click "overwrite" when the option pops up

what this does is add the reshade preset file (the ini) that the reshade thing uses, like a list of all the effects and their values (this much bloom, that much sharpening etc), then it takes those settings from the reshade_shaders folder, which is why you need to overwrite

keep in mind that adding fancy graphical effects can reduce performance, and whenever you boot gamma it takes a second to compile everything

you drag and drop everything (except the readme i guess) and smack it into your bin folder, 1 step process

once youre in game open up the console with ~ and type "cfg_load atmos_neutral"

then press home to open the reshade config thing, and hit the blue bar and load the operation twilight preset and then thats it ur done

the operation twilight preset folder has a reshade_shaders folder in it, your bin folder in your anomaly directory has THE SAME folder, what you need to do is copy all of the files inside said folder, the textures and shaders, and you put them into the folder of the same name in your anomaly bin shaders folder, the easiest way to do this is just to drag the whole folder from the .zip into the dir and have it automatically overwrite the conflicting files in the bin folder

I just did that, using the multiLUT mod, selected Corev3, changed the .png to the included one, and its just all green and pixelated

Then find your atmospherics gamma download in mod organizer and find this file

then paste the LUT you got from your screenshot of the LUT square and fit it onto the ONE LINE of the LUT atlas

then extend the lut until it covers the entire atlas and save

ensure it works by using ssfx_lut 0,17,0,0 then ssfx_lut 1,17,0,0 in game after a restart

Why do you have "twi.png" on Norfair_CORE_v3? Norfair's presets doesn't use that image as an LUT

Every LUT image is saved in Anomaly\bin\reshade-shaders\Textures
Norfair's presets requires norfair_corev3.png

If it does have that, the LUT won't work, and it's broken..

Suggestion:
Maybe don't use a 5yr old reshade that's heavily out of date?

If you REALLY want to use one of Norfair's LUTs, go to https://discord.com/channels/912320241713958912/1371712074157391912 and install it as a normal mod..

Instead of renaming norfair_corev3.png to twi.png, you should do it the other way around.. Make a copy of twi.png and rename the copy to norfair_corev3.png because the preset requires that (and no, just changing the name in-game itself does not fix it)

And, LUTs for reshades are made specifically for that preset (see that screenshot)

Just renaming a random png to the one the preset requires is not a fix..

Hopefully that answers yours and everyone else's questions when it comes to black screen LUTs.. It's getting a bit out of hand recently

Reshade is not necessary for game to look good with atmos since SSS added a lot of effects that people used to use reshade for (AO, lut, ssr, etc). Atmos tweaks those SSS effects instead of providing a reshade preset. I just use it for better visual quality AA than the TAA from SSS (at the cost of performance), PerfectPerspective to fix fisheye effect, and sharpening to reduce the blur that those effects add

and for atmos newer betas, you'll want to copy the AtmosNeutral/Summer/Winter.inis located in the Atmospherics zip/install folder and paste them in Anomaly\appdata folder then use cfg_load command to load one of those inis when you're in game. Also go through each SSS setting in mcm settings and default them

oh and put new atmos in same load order as previous one

hello guys, tried downloading reshade today with operation twilight. But for some reason, reshade crashes on startup of stalker gamma. I've checked the crash logs and they have nothing in it. if u download the beta, you need to move the new atmos configs to anomaly\appdata and then load one. also default every tab of SSS settings in the mcm settings (other then motion blur/dof cuz they don't matter). also turn on parallax refine after defaulting cuz it looks good. or i'm pretty sure parallax tab doesnt need to be defaulted

that im not sure. i don't personally use redone so i wouldn't know. my best is to ask in the rotten life channel. id also recommend that you have some pretty decent hardware to run it. for my specs i personally get around 100 or so frames in a majority of areas. i have a ryzen 9 7900x with a radeon 7900 xtx

and that is with reshade and other texture mods on top of rotten life

yah its a lut thing u dont have the png file for the lut smthg is wrong ^^ look into the lut thers a tab it says i.e "xxx.png" u need to change that dont forgett the " " betwene it otherwise it will not accept it @umbral shoal that png file is usually in the texture folder of the reshade shaders folder but honestly just ignore LUT at all XD

phrozac_acid_v1 has an LUT in it.. Disable it
Acid also won't do much without the LUT.. None of the base GAMMA presets will.. They were made to go with the respective LUT

99% of these are requirements for all of the default GAMMA presets.. If you don't have them, you WILL have a black screen unless you download them from the link in pins..
And just renaming one won't work.. It HAS to be the one that was made for the preset

This will happen if you blindly rename the pngs
And no, it's not a shaders_cache issue.. If you use the wrong LUT file and just rename it, you will sit with problems..

Honestly just follow the pins.. Both of your current issues are in there with their solutions

LUT.fx is not a preset.. It's an effect INSIDE a preset.. Sure, you use phrozac_acid_v1, but that preset has an LUT effect inside of it..

You have reshade without any effects.. Fix that in the settings, if that doesn't work, reinstall and actually select all effects during installation
