Yes, mask textures (just the overlay blocking your vision) were removed. You can enable them again, by deactivating GAMMA No Mask Textures addon in MO2
The mask effects, like glass breaking and water droplets are still there though
Is there any reward in doing loner missions. Equipment with higher status?
By doing missions for factions you will get goodwill — and goodwill unlocks new trader tiers and new items.
For example, by advancing the Clear Sky tiers you can get Mauser K98 Forester, AK-105 Swamp Thing and Remington M700 upgrade kits. You still need to find the weapon and they cost an ungodly amounts of money, but all of those are worth it. You will also expand the offerings of the technicians — at the beginning you can only buy handguns, but eventually they will start offering the Historical and Army Rifle kits, alongside with armor repair kits including Exo.
You still won't be able to buy the weapons themselves (aside from some pretty rare exceptions), but you will be able to fix most of the stuff you find out in the open.

Each faction has generic unlocks and unique unlocks. Raising the reputation with them will unlock those things in stores. Unique unlocks start showing up at Store Level 4 and Store Level 5. Those appear around 2 000 goodwill (you can see your goodwill with different factions in the relationships tab in your PDA)
- For Clear Sky, your unique unlock is AK-105 Swamp Thing upgrade kit.
- For Loners, your unique unlock is AK-12 Monolith upgrade kit.
- For Duty, your unique unlock is AK-105 Jackal upgrade kit.
- For Freedom... no idea, really. Haven't reached that yet.
As for generic unlocks, raising the Store Level will unlock new ammo types and attachments (scopes, silencers, etc.). Those depend on the faction allignement. For example, Clear Sky and Freedom start selling 5.56 NATO while Loners and Duty vendors start selling 5.45x39 for AK.
Raising the technician level (happens by bringing them the tools and raising the faction goodwill) will expand their repair kit offerings. With repair kits you can restore broken weapons you find on the bodies. Handguns repair kit is available from Store Level 1, while Historical and Army Rifle are unlocked later. There are also armor repair kits, but I am not sure how they unlock. My Clear Sky goodwill is at maximum and I can buy Medium and Exoskeleton armor repair kits, but not Light or Heavy.

I am not that chill with Loners or Duty just yet, but good to know! I do have maxed out Clear Sky goodwill and can buy Exo from Novikov, but he doesn't have Heavy or Light for some reason.

Depends on what you want. You can choose AIO (All-In-One) in DLTX format for best and easiest results.
If you only want to have specific modules, you can choose Icon override and pick and choose your modules
The Other Main Icon thing you only use, if Maids is the only Icon pack you use, which is not the case for gamma. So, use AIO for a quick and easy install, or pick and choose the modules with Icon override for customizability

I just installed maid's icons. When I install scope o UMP 45 its texture get's buggy. Other weapons seems to work fine. Anyone have similiar issue?

Buggy in what way? Sometimes the attachments are moved below the gun, so the icon doesnt stick out of it's space

Clear Sky has Exo-skeletons. You'll have to swipe one off a dead CS member.

Yeah its called the AEK-973 and its icon shows its suppsed to have a camo but in game model looks identical to the 971
i partly lied it has a brown tint not camo (seperate aek)
i always thought there was just one AEK and it used 545 only
theres this one, the duty camo one and the normal

only in stashes north, they start spawning in red forest and the further north the better #│📚manual
make sure you have a psy helmet before you go anywhere close to red forest though
Army Warehouse and Dead City are safe, I think. It is only Radar and Red Forest that are affected.

It's random but you will eventually find a few.
Or you will find/unlock a weapon servicing kit that lets you straight-up replace weapon parts.

How do you upgrade your PDA to see the dead bodies? I assumed it would appear at the Ecologist vendors since they are cool with new tech, but it doesn't seem to be the case for me. I have LVL 3 Sakharov store and there's still only Level 1 PDA.

its the building that is "blocked" by a bit of wood that you can either run into pieces or stab so you can have short cut, you know the one if you think about it: You come from Rostok, you walk past the Sniper nest, past the Garages on the left side and the very next thing is a Factory building a path and more factory buildings to your left. yes its the first one, yes it makes sense once you see it, no there is usually no artifact spawn as far as i know, yes i went there because i thought why not, yes the 2 mercs in there did get me

So seeing as we are now encouraged to actually use upgrade kits since they don't consume repair charges, can they be made lighter? 3 kilos is almost the weight of lugging around a whole ass weapon and makes taking more than one or two at a time back to your stash impractical for what is essentially a minor upgrade you can just pay for anyway

The only way to consume a Repair Kit charge, is to use to Maintain Parts, or to Clean a weapon.
But Repairing or Upgrading does not consume anymore.

Its kind of crazy at first, but its incentive to get players to use the anti-rad resistance medicines, like Radioprotectant.

shotguns early with buckshot and slugs can kill most things, and are not too hard to field repair if you loot one with a good barrel
I recommend using Radioprotectant to cross big rad areas, and if you want to go artifact hunting. Try out Potassium Iodine. It gives -41 Rads I believe, for about 180 seconds.
What cat said. Check every guns parts, and strip them. Keep the ones that are over 60% (60 because then you can repair the parts with tools from the Technician like Ramrod) If its 50% you will need a repair kit.
If your looking for a gun to acquire first, find one with a good condition barrel. It will be a waste of your time to pick up an AK74 with a 20% condition barrel and attempt to repair it.

Generally, if you are looking for a gun to use. Make sure it is atleast 20% weapon condition (So that you can clean it with a universal repair kit) and a good condition barrel.
If its below 20% you will need the weapons specific repair kit, and depending where you are in progression, that can be a long time.

depending on the base cost of the gun, this can be really cheap early game if its a cheap gun like old pump or double barrel shotguns

fwiw you should give the default setup a try it's in a pretty good spot imo. some nights that are clear will be well illuminated by a bright moon and others that are cloudy or have a new moon will be almost pitch black.

there's a readme in the WPO folder that goes over how weapons degrade in WPO
shooting a gun faster seems to lower the overall and parts condition faster, and the rain makes them degrade even faster
full auto will heat up your gun and deteriorate it much faster especially if you are using a suppressor
the barrel is independent of condition and lasts for 5000 rounds
interesting, so there's actually a heat value in game
another reason to not full auto

the swamp doc will have a new option, something about the zone and thats how you start the Dr.x questline if you are interested in doing that one
it will do that here and there but you will have to do missions for mercs to get the rep back

this stat in the pda statistics tab does not count junk artefacts and junk artefacts are always visible even without a detector, is this intended ?
Sometimes when using the free zoom, it gets "stuck" zoomed in... until you reload the save.
this is sort of a severe bug as when using free zoom it makes you move very slowly, and can make it almost impossible to get to a campfire to quick save and reload, so unless you have a daddy save ready to use, or are within 15 meters of a campfire, it can be a serious annoyance. I had to walk halfway across the swamps stuck like that in order to quicksave and reload to fix it.

It usually happens when I'm fighting, I'll pull my gun out and use freezoom, and it just gets stuck in freezoom, I don't think I spam it, but I'll use it while looking for an enemy or engaging them if I don't have a scope that's adequate.

Hey, I have a question in regards to armor repairs. Disclaimer: I'm very new at crafting (With a few hundred hours in game but only recently explored the crafting side of things). I'm in a save with about 50 hours in it and 95% of the time playing I've been running around with zero armor durability. I know i cannot repair it via mechanics but farming for a heavy armor repair kit seems an impossible task and that I've hit a wall. Any tips as to repair my armor? I feel like im doing something wrong and that this isnt normal. I hope this is the right channel, I'm not used to posting in these.

Get a toolkit for your armor, check your armor parts - find them via disassembling other armors with same parts or just by finding\bying parts themselves. Then fix parts and replace your outfits broken parts at mechanic table with toolkit, compatible to your armor.
I'll do another fix like on actor first update get the fov values
This, and use the emergency repair kits or whatever you have on hand to fix up the components you don't have if you can reach the repair %. Keep the glues for making extra repair kits and the like
#│📚manual but basically you need to do quests, get stash locations as rewards and get toolkits to craft repair kits, disassemble all armors you find and take any parts with a hammer or any parts that have 50% condition or above, repair the parts with an armour field kit or a sewing thread and then replace them into the suit using the crafting menu (while having the repair kit in your inventory, it wont consume the kit to replace the parts but its still needed)
there is a lot more to the whole crafting/repairing mechanics but explaining the whole thing is not much easier than learning it since it will be a wall of text
and experiencing it with some basic knowledge #│📚manual is a better way to understand it
you can right click on a toolkit and open workbench, no need to use a technician's vice
Ah okay, thank you for the responses. It seems I'm going in the right direction its just getting all the materials for the heavy armor repair kit is incredibly expensive. I've been dedicating all my time to grinding quests to buy the materials needed to make this kit but I'm running on 40-50 hours with 0 armor durability, stuck to the bottom quarter of the map. I feel i would need 100k plus to buy everything I'd need to make the kit on top of necessities. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining. I love how much this mod is kicking my ass. It's just, is everybody else running around with 0 armor durability until 30+ hours?
I try my best to fix up my armor ASAP, since I try not to abuse dying and reloading to saves. But everybody plays differently. The main idea is that you disassemble all the armors and focus on the lighter, more affordable armors and work your way up as you get the repair kits for the armors but there's honestly nothing stopping you from running around with 0 durability armor beyond less protection, so
with the progression you need to start small with a light suit (light suit repair kit compatible) and get a basic kit to craft the light suit kit, replace the parts and it will gain overall condition and then maintain it normally with repair kits to 100%
Your biggest issue is sticking to bottom corner of the map.
Default settings set that higher the stalker level, better the loot. Durability range of outfit drop goes up from 5, 10, 35 depending on the stalker's rank

In case of issue, zoom in and it will reset to the FOV you start with (after loading) or last FOV you set in options menu

After stress testing the system I had like one small issue (if you zoom in exactly when shooting I think) but if you zoom in again, everything is back to normal
Sticking to the bottom of the Zone won't make you progress
The idea is to know when to transition a bit more to the north
i.e. Limansk, Army Warehouses, etc
that's where the fat loot is
basic toolkits spawn in the south maps stashes (only marked stashes) and basically unlock the early game equipment and repair kits, and then you advance to middle maps like army warehouses (you will need some better rad res or you will die walking anywhere, so a decent early game gasmask is required) and look for stashes there to get an advanced kit and this will unlock a big part of mid-late game equipment and repair kits. expert only spawns north of army warehouses and you need a psy helmet to go there(even through red forest) and will unlock almost everything else for you to craft/repair

You're right. I'm using late game tiered equipment I found off a geared guy when I cant even afford to maintain it. I'll switch back to my lighter armor and focus on making a kit for that first. Also, my rank expert. @willow hawk I agree haha! Its just i cant go anywhere else without dying from rads or psy fields. With my equipment always at 0, i simply cannot progress elsewhere.
Keep that looted gear around in a stash though, when you nab an expert/the materials with an advanced, you can fix it right up and equip it for the Northern zones
Plus the catharsis of finally fixing the damn armor is there too

Armors getting damaged is mainly from anomalies when you don't have a high enough protection
Man yesterday night I finally got the expert toolkit and had to play Salt and Sacrifice, I still managed my gear for 2 hours and finally upgraded everything
@willow hawk also I still am finding ammo parts on crows, figured I’d let you know.
Meanwhile me, having to complete the main storylines without Expert tier gear because RNG is a bitch

Grampa's cabin workbench should have all toolkits to have a static expert toolkit, since he can upgrade all armor and all guns to max anyway
Also, unrelated topic but since you're all here. I'm having an issue where nearly every other gun I use is put in an endless weapon swap animation when trying to reload or use it. I looked through #old-bugs and #│🔧troubleshooting and couldn't find anything. Everything else has been working great.
It could be, since its just me testing with low durability items. But i did end up reparing one to full and still having the same issue.
I dont understand the artificial gatekeeping of "not selling guns" or "haha, good luck getting a toolkit". It doesnt make the game any harder, just annoying and tidious.
I will try that now.
dont use broken guns or at least guns with damaged barrels, damaged barrels reduce the damage your gun does and other parts being damaged increase jamming chance
no ammo or mags(attached to your loadout) = that animation
For a completely abused price
25k for 5 minutes
