Quick question about installing HD Models. Maids Vanilla HD icons seems to be missing files and doesn't have a Cr3pis icons option in the fomod installer like it says on #custom-textures. I'm currently editing the ui_icon_equipment.dds from G.A.M.M.A Icons to manually place the HD Models icon in. Is the info in #custom-textures outdated? and is there another way to go about this?

You have unnammed redcrossed addons because the installer contacts moddb during addons install, but when trying to access an addon download page, it finds a page that basically tells that you are flagged as a bot. My web scrapper doesn't identify the addons name / archive name and it results in the installation crashing.
I should try to make a "bot flag" check before downloading to hang the installer if you are identified as a bot and with prompt saying that you should wait and retry in 1 hour

You can switch to another desktop during the install process (Windows key + Tab > New Desktop on top).

could always try reextracting everything including anomaly. As long as you preserve the downloads folder the installer won't need to download anything new as long as the archive is valid and up to date @lilac meteor

But the Grizzly will be usable early and with NVGs but the positioning will not be top notch like the bear

Hey everyone so I've just started playing GAMMA and I'm enjoying it so far but I'm a bit confused as to why a Merc just ate five 12 Gauge to the chest. Am I missing something or are shotguns really bad in GAMMA?

Not sure if it applies to GAMMA, but in Anomaly it had to be Buckshot IIRC

If you are using GAMMA with 'Hip Quest Rewrite' you don't need a Bizon anymore.
Buckshot works poorly against armoured targets. Use slugs instead to punch through their armour.

Buckshots are for mutants, Slugs are for lightly armoured Stalkers, and Darts are for heavily armoured Stalkers.

First use medicine that heal A (Arms) with yellow dots.
While your arms' health bars are yellow, heal them again with medicine that have blue dots for A.
Example: Use a first-aid kit followed by radioprotectant/glucose shots/stimpack.

I butchered dead zone texture addon, removed the dead grass/tress and It looks very nice

Just installed and keep getting shader error even though i deleted the shader_cache
What kind of impact do updates have on savegames? You can spend a fair amount of time building up trade levels in this game to the point where starting new isn't appealing whatsoever. What's with followers not being able to navigate terrain to the point where a bush or puddle will force them to traverse half the map to get to you, yet the enemy have no issue hiding and sniping through the same cover. Great Swamp is an exercise in frustration.
starting a new game is never appealing until you actually start one. if you really liked the pack or the game in general you will find that its always fun to start a new one . maybe not right after your last one but a while later
updates in gamma will most likely be save friendly and will not ruin your save
until now thats always been the case
companions always have been really stupid in anomaly and most addons out there that try to fix them just end up making them worse

I've never used BaS before. I Just found and fixed up a HK USP Match Tactical, it's supposed to have a Laser Aiming Module in addition to the scope mount but I can't get it to work. I checked the BaS page on moddb and it says to long press the flashlight key. I've tried both the headtorch and detector keys, with and without anything in the slots, and tried changing their bindings, and still can't get a laser dot to appear. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

you could change shaders yourself by pressing the home button and tinkering around with it
and if you dont like what you end up with just click presets and choose gamma. should put it back to the gamma defaults

I have detector(flashlight?) bound to 5 and headlamp to 7 normally, tried rebinding them to O and P and didn't work either way. I don't actually have a flashlight though I assume that shouldn't matter? Just tried holding L, which isn't bound to anything, and that's not working.
Hey all over the past couple of days i got Anamoly to work on my Macbook pro 2017 on Mac OSX Mojave using the wrapper from here https://www.moddb.com/games/stalker-call-of-pripyat/downloads/wineskinwrapperanomaly with just a few more minor dependecy tweaks. I haven't really plays-tested much, but it seems to work ok so far with dx11 16:9 around 2k with default graphics settings. I believe ive gotten mod manager to work as well. Maybe so other python stuff to or so to meddle with, so, I found this and im trying in now. Running the installer in the wrapper is a no go for me. It grinds out on launch with a .net exception. Right now my old pc, which cant really play it, is running the install scripts though to see if the final product works. Has anyone else tried this? Ill post any updates wherever its appropriate.
Just tried with a SR-2M Veresk I found and holding headlamp key (7 for me) turns the green dot laser on and off. I guess the problem is with the HK USP Match Tactical. It has a kit fitted and that says it should have a laser pointer, and it looks like there is one under the barrel on the inventory icon and the model. Perhaps it needs to be purchased separately to the kit that's on it? Or that gun has a bug?

HK USP Match Tactical (BaS). On the attachment section it says 'The kit includes Laser Aiming Module and Red Dot Sights mount.' The rail for the red dot is clearly on the model, though I haven't been able to find one that fits to check it yet, and it looks like a laser is below the barrel too.
can anyone help me navigate this Stealth mechanic? I can't seem to get any option to stealth kill. And is there seriously no container at the Clear Sky base in the Swamp?!
Did you try the Night Vision button for your laser?
Yes, that didn't do it. Holding the headlamp button works to turn the LAM on and off on a different BaS gun, I think the pistol I have may be bugged.

the options in mcm only change how hard you are to spot
There is no 'stealth kill button', you just have to be sneaky and then head shot them with a knife from behind (or a suppresd gun if you enable it), you'll know it worked as the rest of thier squad won't react, and you can do it to factions you should be friendly with and you won't lose reputation.

There is a box in the clear sky base, it's hidden behind the bar, it's very hard to interact with, give me a minute and I will fast travel there and get a screen shot.

try re equipping the gun or getting another one of the same variant if you can and keep trying. sometimes lasers dont turn on first time you try and will instead turn on your headlamp even when you hold the button
load it, unload it and reload it again and wait for the anim to finish and then try using the laser

i was thinking it was like all those other games with stealth kills where you push the button and it automatically kills them with an animation.
it could still be the gun itself being bugged or incomplete from bas

Thnx, I was hoping it was just some dependency issue, I hadn't found yet. The game it selfs seems to run so well. I tried force installing vcrun 2019. I don't see 2022 in winetricks yet. Anyhow, looks like the old PC was able to assemble most of it. Though several bad downloads and i got moddb punted after first install pass. I see a few california servers are kinda loaded atm. Ill check back and tinkering tonight.

One. I don't know if there're actual permanent companion as special NPCs. Two, the condition does matters.
The only permanent npc is Hip i think
But you can also recruit normal NPCs

After a bit more experimenting, LAM's on SMG's and rifles work fine, LAM's on any pistol (I've tried several different ones) I can not toggle. They match the last state of a SMG/rifle LAM I had equiped - if I turn it on/off on one of them the one on the pistol will be in the same state, even if I no longer have the SMG/rifle equipped. Seems to happen no matter what slot (1,2,3) I put the pistol in.
in the early stages of the game. Where do you find toolkits to repair weapons?. Im between cordon-garbage-swamps. Im tired of using 10% weapons.
Mechanics, don't know about stashes but mechanics sell them
The loadout is crucial when you start a new game because for the most part you'll use those weapons
I've founds loads of basic tool sets in marked stashes. Weapon repair sets I haven't found any of. If you give basic tools to a mechanic they will start selling handgun and historic (works for most (all?) shotguns and some old rifles) weapon repair kits, or you can craft them using the basic tool set yourself. I haven't found any advanced or expert ones yet, though I have managed to fix up some more advanced guns by finding one with a barrel in reasonable condition, replacing all the other parts with ones I've found and fixed up or in a couple cases brought from a mechanic, and then paying the mechanic to repair the overall durability if it's been to low to do myself without the right kit.
Just fixed up a AEK-971 and a SV-98 that way this evening, they're perfect other than 'dirty' and 'slightly worn' barrels. On reflection I should have just done one of the two, think I will back track a little and just do the AEK now I have discovered Sid will sell me a decent sight for it.

Further strangeness with pistol LAMS - restarted game client, started a new game, spawned a pistol with a LAM, the LAM was turned on, the same state I left an SMG LAM in when I closed the game whilst on my old playthrough. Re-started PC, re-started client, started new playthrough, spawned pistol with LAM, LAM was on. Spawned an SMG with a LAM, equipped it, LAM was off, switched back to pistol, pistol LAM now also off. Toggling SMG LAM on turned pistol LAM back on. At no point could I manually toggle pistol LAM. LAM status is being saved in a file somewhere and not just in RAM?

From what I can remember, the location of that scout's body is located somewhere near the Doc's shack.
If you can post the entire Great Swamps map on here, I would be able to point it out, hopefully.
Alternatively, you can take that mission I mentioned in CS, and go to that location. After that, just follow what you just did.

Im trying to disable the mag sound that plays after reloading when using mags redux. It triggers cuz of the spent mag that gets added back to ur loadout i assume.

Unless you did something to your hit power factor controllers never take that many shots
even FMJ does damage against them

if you don't want the animations you can simply disable them from MCM -> FDDA
pressing the animation disable button will not work by default from my experience it disabled the anomaly "animations" which are just camera shakes

yeah, I think one of my favorite things in GAMMA so far is that the mutant attack hitboxes are no longer 10 feet wide so you can actually kind of juke and retaliate with a knife

any weapon part can simply be replaced with a 100% condition one if you have the appropriate toolkit. E.g. pistol repair kit in inv, right click wep > maintain parts > part you want to replace
