Make sure you edit the GAMMA Body Health Balance, it is probably overriding the one you edited.

the textures on the rock look bright like they have ambient light and the objects clip on the sides and look black. some textures far away look messy and they get better as i get closer

At what goodwill does the trader stock level go up? im at around 1000 with freedom, and skinflint is already giving me level 4 or 5 things, but dushman, even though ive got 300 more goodwill with mercs is still only at level 3. Is it because im a merc? I also saw that freedom gave me better things sooner, and with dushman on the same goodwill as freedom still had level 2 stock while also having some level 3 stock items. I also spent 2 days away from dead city atleast twice and it didnt help at all

The thresholds are different, and arent the same for mercs, freedom and ecologists

Which factions can do the additional questlines? I got the modpack yesterday and tested it with CS, got the Last Dawn quest from Cold (just retaking some bases in swamps) and also Spore had some new “assignments”, but there is not anything like this when I tried playing as Merc. I tried to look up the mod at Moddb to find the answer, but could not find it.
ye I once had to do some Powershell "programming" myself and I do remember it wasn't so enjoyable (also had to do with printer bewitching which is always hell ^^)

Manually reinstalled Groks Optimised Graphics Patcher, reseted shaders cache and it looks little bit better, but still some objects and trees aren't affected by shadows. Funny thing the brightness of this objects change with vertical camera position

If you enable Trader Overhaul it loses to the GAMMA Economy changes for most of the traders but the scripts and other trader changes make it in

Is it early in your run? My guy gets tired regularly after the first day or so. Otherwise you'll need to first aid + post heal to get limb hp

idk how to heal limbs except through sleep and the surgeons
if i use a med kit they just break in like 30 secs anyway
Some items give first aid (orange) and then to get permanent hp you need to use a post-heal (white)

They are separate stats, think about weapon condition as "cleanliness"
The lower it is - the faster parts will degrade i believe

You can start "cleaning" even if weapon have only 1% left, you just need specific repair kit for that, this kit also can replace broken parts in weapons
If you don't have one - there are some lubes and other items, that can be used at different %, but best one's are for 30%+
So if your gun is bellow 30% - you need a specific kit or just pay $ to technician

Say your gun is busted and everything is zero. In this case pistol.
Gun condition - keep this high, the lower it is the faster the internal parts degrade. Degradation is unavoidable only slowed in this mod.
Parts - all parts can be maintained except barrel by common gun cleaning items above 60% anything lower must be done using an advanced repair kit which brings it to 100% from any condition. Barrels can only be repaired by advanced cleaning kits. Additionally barrels are the only part you cannot drag and drop directly to the gun and must use a work bench and one tick of the weapons respective repair kit.
The gun barrel condition directly affects weapon damage to some small degree.

Having what I believe is an AMD issue. Sometimes I would get a long stutter then have a black screen with sound that would force me to task manager close the game and restart. I followed the guide in #╰🩹known-issues for the tdrdelay and it seemed to help but It has happened 3 times within the last 15 minutes in darkscape. Would increasing the delay cause any issues? Some old ass reddit thread mentioned they changed to 10 to fix issues in battlefield but I was unsure if too much time would cause any other issues.
@warped ginkgo It's the same issue as you directed me to, manually downloading Streamlined Upgrades and placing "workshop_autoinject" in the appropriate spot fixed the CTD on new-game.

Never tried companions before, I know of hit obviously but can I assume asking an NPC for an escort is how you get one? Also won’t they die very easily? Or do you have to outfit them with gear and healing items to keep them around and basically scramble to save them at every encounter?
Usually escorting NPCs is not a reliable way to get companions. They can go full bonanza from time to time, usually better rank means better chances of survival but it’s not guaranteed. I suppose supplying them with a few medkits should suffice in case they get downed and not die instantly.
Is it okay if I extract the mods myself in MO2 based on the order GAMMA installed them initially?

I think it only affects detection from hostile stalkers. Not range, nor damage.

That may explain why my Hera's barrel got the dirty condition so quickly.
But then again, with that ROF it vomits out bullets much faster than I like.
I'm gonna check the files here in a minute but I remember once upon a time in 1.4 they actually reduced the damage of the weapon. Not sure if that's true anymore or even if it's true of GAMMA.

Seems to be all foliage, -lose- their shadow when I'm stationary and become bright, sharp

yea the deadzone issue i was having was from me using the efp repack. it was HEAVILY modified compared to the version i just downloaded. fixed the missing textures so far

Use basic healing items like medkits or bandages to heal your main health. It will also heal your limbs temporarily (yellow HP). To convert these temporary HP to permanent HP for your limbs (yellow to white HP) use post heal items (like Akvatabs, with white dots in their description).

im going to play without immersive sleep, sleep overhaul, close quarter combat, dltx extra animations, and mutant skin animation. see if that works

Most likely, disabling the Mutant skinning animations disables what GAMMA modifies and would fix the busy hands potentially induced by GAMMA

But busy hands can happen every time event manager breaks
I'm maybe 12 hours into a fresh playthrough on a clean install, never used ammo check and never had busy hands
I tried different binds while skinning just to see if I could trigger it, but never had it
Biggest problem is the amount of add-ons using event manager for the slightest thing while time_global timers can be used and doesn't initiate busy hands stuff since it doesn't create events nor break events manager

Sometimes it happens randomly during skinning mutants

every time i update gamma, i disable eft rattle, instant tooltip, and lifegranter counter to name a few. instant tooltip gets in the way when trying to see what ammo goes to a highlighted weapon
or upgrades
and i dont use ironman mode
and i gotta reinstall dooms weapon inspect for the no music version
..so many things to keep track of 😄

read the install guide #old-how-to there is a step where you re-order any addons that weren't automatically ordered

These addons are newly updated compared to the modlist of G.A.M.M.A. They should be correctly installed and should work - if the authors didn't change a lot of things indeed. If you find some of these addons, post their name in updated-addons , tick them, and move them to their rightful position in the load order using their prefixed number. I'm assuming this is what you're confused about i could be wrong though
But in the case of updating the pack, if you do not delete the mods folder beforehand, you'll accumulate old add-ons
If you have old add-ons at the bottom of the load order after updating (i.e. there's already a version of the add-on in its rightful position and it has a more advanced update number), just delete those in MO2

blue/white = convert temp heal to perma heal
for example
monolith dunk my arm to 0%
i use bandage, now it 60% ish temp healed
i can aim better now but the heal will eventually goes away
so in order to heal off my arm
i will need to use akvatab (blue/white heal) after using bandage
just was curious how to heal permanently since the torso would go up with medkit then start dropping

Perk artefacts now degrade over using on belt, every 20 seconds they lose 1% of condition, apart from Lucifer (Configurable in MCM)

I'm not entirely sure how the new ballistics and armor interact in GAMMA so I can't make any good suggestions unfortunately but I do remember that once upon a time in vanilla Anomaly the more damage your armor absorbed the faster it degraded.
That's why shotguns were meta there for a while especially the 153. You just mag dump on someone till you eventually shredded thru their armor.
Something like that.
I guess it's the invulnerability avoider that makes some guns causing too much damage independently of your armor

You good, game rarely spawns ammo that has no use in gamma, like 4.6x30 or .50 bmg
I don't know if barret m82 spawns, but it uses same ammo as VSSK, and other barret shoots .338 lapua. Dvl shoots .338 federal
Ahem, please don't mind me being an idiot but can I disable dynamic anomalies once activated them? I de-ticked it in normal settings and also disabled in the mod manager but it's not working while they already spawned I guess eh..

That's rtgi ghosting. If you also use a faint qmxao with it, it becomes less distracting.
Is there a way to increase actor speed when leaning?

I tried different MXAO settings through Reshade and disabled it in the end
It will need a proper and better implementation within engine, which will happen with anomaly 1.6
I don't get how you can tolerate that just for small shadows around objects....
There are some HBAO already, it would be better to tweak its code and using Reshade shaders code there most likely so it's directly baked in engine
But yeah it requires actually knowing HLSL

Same for DOF it destroys UI
Honestly all you need it GAMMA bloom and maybe some curves
Check bonk Reshade if you want new effects
But i would say... Just play the damn game, as I said, one thing you configure under one weather will look bad in another
So you will endup tweaking Reshade all the time instead of playing
While with the GAMMA Reshade you just have a nice subtle bloom and just need to tweak middlegray in the console under certain map / weathers
And best of all, you'll save some frames
I've just remapped shader toggle key to a convenient one. Anytime I'm interacting with ui and I can't see, I just toggle it off. I know, it's a bit wonky, but I really like the way it makes the objects blend in with the environment, rather than stick out in an unnatural way. With rtgi it really makes closed environments realistically dark. It's a trade off based on taste though and I can definitely see why you and many people don't like it.
Well I also think it can improve the image but gameplay and ease of access / gameflow >>> graphics

little new to modding stalker and I'm just testing out gamma for the first time so sorry if I missed something obvious. When starting a new game, there's no npc's in cordon besides Sidorovich. Also some magazines dont give the option to add them to a loadout and instead require me to drag and drop them in order to load. Something wrong or is this normal?
the magazine capacity depends on the outfit you wear
you won't be able to equip like 5 rifle magazines on a rookie jacket xd
that might explain why i could add pistol mags but not rifle mags lmao thanks

I pick up all these cool guns with low condition and parts like Scar H Black and m14 ebr. But seeing as im only 500 goodwill and can't buy the ammo or the rifle toolkits, i guess just disassemble them? So sad 😦 i guess i'll save them for now in a stash and just go back to them later

Replacing parts doesn't cost toolkit charges either, so if you find one with just one charge you can still repair it
However if you right click and do any maintain parts it will use a kit charge

when completing the rookie quest in cordon from Fanatic, the stash he assigned me to find was empty is that normal? I know when I did it before installing the GAMMA mod it had some artifact in it that was worth some money but other wise useless. I also noticed that every stash/box I checked in cordon that I knew about was also empty where as I had found random items in a few of them before GAMMA is that normal?

Yes. That artifact now gives a perk so its removed. Also boxes will rarely have something in them and all other stashes are empty unless you have a mark afaik

What was your issues ?
Well my main issue was that I just downloaded the installer from github since that's what I found first but it kept throwing errors because of the missing resources that included in the archive that's listed in the install section so that was my bad, the other issue I had was that that during the installation of the mods it just stopped at some point likely due to an internet blip so the game kept crashing I realized when I looked at the mod manager I was missing a fair bit of mods so I reinstalled and it seemed to be working then I noticed the stash differences which I figured was working as intended but before I invested many hours into the game only to find out I was never getting loot from stashes I wanted to check lol
anybody know if its possible to disable mags mid save? i get CTD loading a save with mags Can't open section 'mag_ak_5.45x39_modern' as expected

That would be cool, I actually heard about GAMMA from your reddit post, I clicked the github link to checkout the mod list and then just downloaded the installer from there, once I had some issues with the missing resources I fiddled around with it for a bit then went back to the reddit post and noticed the line under the github link talking about joining the discord to get the installer and get help and such so I checked the installer link here
