@primal star honestly only significant bug seems to be latest version of mod pack doesn't play nice with 1.5.1, other than that it actually runs far better and no reports of any bugs. There may and I stress may be a mouse sensitivity thing when ads, but only reported by one person lots of peeps playing the update no issues.
there is no button to use the pda when its in your inv
Right click > view. Not for your pda but for the looted ones from bandits, you no longer have to unequip yours.

Stash locations lore fluff and then money if you sell, or materials if you disassemble.
if you're playing with accessible zone off, you can get lucky and get hidden routes unlocked too
lastly I think sometimes they give RF codes and a location but it doesn't mark it on your map

I've never gotten one from pda but you do basically always have one you can find that random dude from whatever faction you're working on tells you about. They are basically mini stashes
yeah that one is always available, but I've had PDAs from bandits also have messages like, I was walking around (location) dead city and was messing with my RF and found beeping at (number range) 60 rf or something
never got to exploring before that run ended

what makes it extra interesting is its not marked nor does it leave a message to keep track of on your own pda, kinda feels like a morrowwind quest where they just say go yourself to find the quest reward

Stashes are empty by default; you will have to find or get coordinates to actually find something in them. These coordinates can be obtained as rewards by completing quests, by reading PDAs that you can find on the bodies of stalkers you kill, you can even threaten wounded stalkers to get them, before you kill them.
You can also buy them from traders, although the location is always random, so it could be anywhere.
Inside these stashes you can find toolkits.
In the south part of the Zone (everywhere UNDER Red Forest) is where you'll find Basic and Advanced.
In the north part of the Zone (INSIDE Red Forest and ONLY NORTH from there) is where you'll find Expert, along the other two.
You also have the gunsmithing toolkit, which is used to craft ammunition of all kinds and you also have the drug making kit, used to create drugs and medicines.
Depending on the location, north or south:
White stashes have a small chance of finding ANY toolkit inside, this means that you can find ONE basic/advanced/expert toolkit OR a gunsmithing toolkit OR a drug making toolkit.
Green stashes have a 100% chance of finding ONE toolkit from this specific pool: Basic, Gunsmithing or Drug Making kit. Advanced and Expert are random and depend on the area the stash spawned in.

anyone know if I can adjust the weapon damage with certain bullets? kinda tired of having to put like 4 or 5 7.62 FMJ rounds in a merc to kill them. I already turned bullet damage up to 3. when I disable groks ballistic mod in the mod manager my game just crashes when i shoot someone.
im already like 50 hrs in so I dont want to restart either TBH
I have the same issue, definitely not a PC spec problem. I've had complete freezes of up to 5 or 6 second when I thought it was going to CTD, then resumed with no problems. I do get huge lag in some of the larger fire fights (Defend the Barrier for example).
This was happening pre-Anomaly 1.5.2 so unrelated to the update

No bugs, just need help getting past this first quest. I'm playing Merc, and snuck my way down to the Clear Sky base for their questline. Trying to do the Last Dawn quest, problem is that the defending squad gets wiped out each attempt so I get no backup and only 12 rounds for my shotty left. Unfortunately their trader doesn't sell the ammo I need for my shotty, so I'm gonna have to loot and hope I can get the tools to craft my own.

you shouldnt cross entire zones on your first day or 2 just for a quest, and you shouldnt try to complete quests with a lot of stalker fighting without the proper gun and ammo
I wanted to head to a beginner area that I can chill in for a while with enough quests to sustain myself, I didn't think I'd not have enough equipment to handle their story missions.

also, some of them dont skin all mutants while others do
you can change this in the mcm > drop condition but its really not recommended. repairing guns and armor isnt hard and you can repair anything even at 0%

i think the more expensive the armor is the more protection it usually offers for example
but obviously not everyone want armor
theres different things to consider for guns too
just because a weapon does high damage (thus the high base price), doesnt mean you can get the ammo easily rendering the gun almost useless
so the top melee weapon are kukri and big old axe

I asked about this yesterday but I'm still unclear. I have had a few exo enemies drop Exoskeleton frames in various conditions (the items that look like metal lattice/folding camping tables in my inventory) and exo batteries. It says in the tooltip that they can be used in the crafting menu. I am currently wearing a Freedom exosuit and the tooltip mentions being able to attach a frame. I can't figure out how to do it - please help!

@boreal jewel those are just really heavy parts that you can swap to repair exoskeleton, exactly like you repair armors, but on a 20 kg component

What precautions can I take to minimize faulty Mods downloads?
I did everything as usual, didnt spam Moddb, didnt cancel the donnload, yet the installer said all mods were installed correctly but there were still faulty Add-Ons which have to be re-downloaded.
Any methods/tricks to avoid this problem in the future ?
@graceful iron is there any idea on why it happens? maybe developer will update it to fix crash? that is a huge shame
i have no idea. maybe grok knows something or try asking the author of the addon if he still provides support for it
if we are seeing issues with a pda radio mod who knows what new crashes and problems and bugs we have yet to discover and see, and what addons that will break.... :/

adding gamma and anomaly folders as exclusions from AV - using a stable connection and making sure you have enough disk space - (this one is something i noticed myself, but could be completely wrong) dont use the pc for anything else while downloading/installing. just let the installer do its thing - downloading the addons that usually fail to download manually from moddb can help a lot

Because it wasn't updated to 1.5.2 and was causing a crash. The author updated yesterday after I told him, it should hopefully work now. I will test the new update tonight and push an edit to the modlist so it's loaded again by default

Mag Redux and the Compass didnt really work
Mag Redux had the debug text in MCM and Ingame and the Compass didnt even work in the first place
Other Mods mightve been affected aswell but couldnt check properly
the game still ran normally
no crashes or errors, it is just of visual nature i suppose
(I cant properly check rn as I am at work, those infos were from the top of my mind)
I imagine there will be teething issues I'm sure these will eventually work themselves out though

you can. you need a cleaning kit or repair kit depending on how damaged the parts are
maintain doesn't work with lubes, you need cleaning kits and repair kits

when reinstalling Mag Redux, which patches did you pick, and did it change the load order of the mod / modlist ?
So I am guessing in 40+ hours and hundreds of high tier enemies my incredibly shite luck with the RNG continues to deny me ANYTHING good in this game. I have not found a single exoskeleton armour, only exosuits or spare parts! I've had none of the cool guns you guys rave about, and in all that time and stashes I have found three basic tool kits, one universal, and no advanced! I started in the Rookie village, joined Freedom, and am now up to Beard's map having done everything else in between. Unluckiest run in history...

Is it correct that ammo checker has no animations involved? If I press the hotkey combo there is quite a delay when nothing happens, then I see the text on screen.

you can go to "your" faction (that includes if you are disguised as that faction) and give them a suit of another faction to get a variant of that suit from that faction

Is there a trick to being able to kill lightly armored stalkers with buckshot? im not sure that legs actually take extra damage, ive shot a bandit in the legs with it like 10 times or more.
and it would be nice if a stalkers outfit more closely matched their overall BR class. shooting a stalker in the eyes with buckshot not killing him because i guess he has an invisible high BR helmet or something. even a stalker in nothing but a trench coat is tanking buckshot.
a trench coat is not armor, unless this is a bug or something that cant actually be fixed buckshot should destroy an unarmored stalker as like i said a trench coat or jacket is not armor.

even according to gamma manual buckshot will still work against very lightly armored stalkers, and a trenchcoat is just clothing

aim at the center of mass (head/torso). if they are wearing anything better than a leather jacket, dont even bother using buckshot
might be easier than figuring out why the installer doesn't pick a specific text file
some NPCs have a SKAT9 or Exolight under their trenchcoat
@graceful iron trenchcoat and jacket should be same thing and should both have zero chance against buckshot. also i thought legs do more damage?

is it an oversight that trenchcoat can tank buckshot? it seems a bit much, buckshot is already useless against any form of armor at all which is fine but it really should kill vs clothing, jacket and trenchcoat etc, especially if they obviously are not wearing a vest/plate or anything other than a mask and coat and a sweater.
i.e. the nose is the same hitbox as the helmet sadly
Here's a little video to debunk the fact that Buckshots are useless against base enemies in STALKER GAMMA. As you can see Buckshots can easily one shot enemies in the head even though they have facial protections like actual helmets. Bigger helmets have better protection indeed.

No, I have already patched 1.5.1 to 1.5.2... I am saying that I did not patch it when I began the upgrade gamma data and full install.... I dont know of a written guide, but a general rule of thumb, if your looking for an electric type anomaly, its more common near electric anomalies and so on for each type.

The other thing is often youll see some say "oh I found XXXX artifact" they will often (Im not sure if always) be in your map, find them and kill them and free artefact.

uhh did the Vram patch dissapear? after the 1.5.1 update it worked really well now on 1.5.2 i get the same low fps i had before the Vram to Ram patch.
No change in the patch, you can put To use it, enable r__no_ram_textures (off or on) console command and restart the game to see if changing it makes a difference for you. By default the mod pack has it set to off, to allow ram to be used.
